Phosphor-substituierte 4-Methyloxäthan-2-one, Verfahren zu deren
Herstellung und deren Verwendung
Die Erfindung betrifft neue phosphor-substituierte 4-Methyloxäthani-2-one,
Verfahren zu deren Herstellung sowie deren Verwendung in Schmierölzusammensetzungen
oder zum Flammfestmachen von natürlichen oder synthetischen Polymeren.
Die neuen phosphor-substituierten 4-Methyloxäthan-2-one entsprechen
der Formel I
worin X Sauerstoff oder Schwefel darstellt oder nicht vorhanden ist,
A und D unabhängig voneinander Wasserstoff, geradkettiges oder verzweigtes C -Alkyl, das durch ein oder zwei Halogenatome oder durch
eine Cyano-, C .-Alkoxy- oder C„ ,-Alkoxycarbonylgruppe substituiert
sein kann; C -Cycloalkyl, C, .. -Aralkyl, gegebenenfalls durch ein
oder zwei Halogenatome, Cyano-, C -Alkoxy-, C, -Alkoxycarbonyl- oder
geradkettige oder verzweigte C -Alkylgruppen substituiertes Phenyl;
eine Gruppe der Formel -CH-*—O oder eine Gruppe R1O- bedeuten,
worin R1 Wasserstoff, geradkettiges oder verzweigtes C o-Alkyl, das
durch ein oder zwei Halogenatome substituiert sein kann; C .,-Cycloalkyl,
C -Aralkyl oder gegebenenfalls durch ein oder zwei Halogenatome
oder geradkettige oder verzweigte C -Alkylgruppen substituier-
tes Phenyl, oder die TrimethylsiIy!gruppe darstellt, oder worin A und
D zusammen mit dem Phosphoratom, an das sie gebunden sind, einen 1,3,2-Dioxaphospholan- oder 1,3,2-Dioxaphosphorinanring bilden, die je
durch eine oder mehrere geradkettige oder verzweigte C1 -Alkylgruppen
substituiert sein können, sowie bei R' = Wasserstoff, Alkalimetall-, Erdalkalimetall-, Amin- oder teilweise Salze von Verbindungen
der Formel I, mit der Massgabe, dass bei A = R1O- und X =
Schwefel oder nicht vorhanden, D ungleich Wasserstoff oder "CH-*—0
ist. ^0
A und/oder D in der Bedeutung einer geradkettigen oder verzweigten
C „-Alkylgruppen können z.B. die Methyl-, Aethyl-, n-Propyl-, Isopropyl-,
n-Butyl-, sek-Butyl-, tert-Butyl-, n-Pentyl-, n-Hexyl-,
n-Heptyl-, n-Octyl-, n-Nonyl-, n-Decyl-, n-Undecyl- oder n-Dodecylgruppe
sein.
Stellen A und/oder D durch Halogenatome substituiertes Alkyl oder
Phenyl dar, so kommen als Halogenatome Fluor oder Jod, besonders aber Chlor oder Brom in Betracht. Beispiele von C -Alkoxysubstituenten
an Substituenten A und/oder D sind Methoxy, Aethoxy, n—Propoxy und
Isopropoxy. Alkoxycarbonylsubstituenten an Gruppen A und/oder D können
z.B. die Methoxycarbonyl-, Aethoxycarbonyl-, n-Propoxycarbonyl- und
Isopropoxycarbony1gruppe sein. C ,-Alkylsubstituenten an Phenylgruppen
A und/oder D sind z.B. die Methyl-, Aethyl-, n-Propyl-, Isopropyl-
und tert-Butylgruppe. Beispiele von definitionsgemässen Cycloalkylgruppen
A und/oder D sind die Cyclopropyl-, Cyclobutyl-, Cyclopentyl-, Cyclohexyl- und die Cycloheptylgruppe. Stellen A und/oder D Aralkylgruppen
dar, so handelt es sich z.B. um die Benzyl- oder α,α-Dimethylbenzylgruppe.
Bedeutet oder enthält R' eine C „-Alkylgruppe, Halogenatome,
eine C -Cycloalkylgruppe, eine C -Aralkylgruppe oder eine
C -Alkylgruppe, so kommen Gruppen der oben unter der Besprechung von A und D genannten Art in Betracht.
X stellt bevorzugt Schwefel und insbesondere Sauerstoff dar, und A
ist vorzugsweise eine Gruppe -OR', wobei R' die unter Formel I angegebene Bedeutung hat.
Die folgenden Tabellen 1 bis 9 veranschaulichen Verbindungen der Formel I, worin das Phorphoratom nicht Teil eines Ringes bildet. Verbindungen
der Formel I worin X Sauerstoff und mindestens eines von Ä und D Wasserstoff darstellen, sind Tautomere von Verbindungen der
Formel I, worin X nicht vorhanden ist und mindestens eines von A und D eine OH-Gruppe bedeutet.

Bevorzugte Verbindungstypen sind solche gemäss den Tabellen 1 bis 3,
7, 8 und 9, besonders diejenigen gemäss Tabellen 1-3 und vor allem die Verbindungstypen gemäss Tabellen 1 und 2.
Besonders bevorzugt sind jedoch Verbindungen der Formel I, worin X
Sauerstoff, A -OR" und D -OR" oder C -Alkyl darstellen, wobei R" C- -Cycloalkyl oder C „-Alkyl darstellt, vor allem Verbindungen
der Formel I, worin X Sauerstoff, D C -Alkyl und A -OR" sind, wobei
R" die vorgenannte Bedeutung hat. Ganz besonders bevorzugt sind Verbindungen der Formel I, worin X Sauerstoff darstellt und A und D
gleiche Gruppen -OR" sind. Bei diesen bevorzugten Ausführungsformen
ist R" vorzugsweise C -Alkyl.
Bevorzugte spezifische Verbindungen sind: Dimethyl^-oxo^-oxäthanyL-methylphosphonat,
Diäthyl-Z-oxo-A-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Di-n-Butyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat,
Di-n-Octyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat,
Di-2-Aethylhexyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Di-Isopropyl-2-oxo~4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Di-Cyclohexyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat,
n-Butyl-äthyl(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phosphinat und Isobutyl-methyl(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phosphinat.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I und deren definitionsgemässe Salze können
z.B. dadurch hergestellt werden, dass man eine Verbindung der Formel VII

worin für A, D und X das unter Formel I Angegebene gilt, in Gegenwart
eines freie Radikale bildenden Mittels mit Diketen umsetzt und gegebenenfalls anschliessend Verbindungen der Formel I mit R' = H in an
sich bekannter Weise in definitionsgemässe Salze überführt.
Das Gewichtsverhältnis von Verbindungen der Formel VII zu Diketen liegt dabei zweckmässig im Bereich von 1:10 bis 10:1. Wenn eines oder
--rr-
beide von A und D Wasserstoff darstellen, kann mehr als ein Aequivalent
Diketen mit der Verbindung der Formel VII reagieren, wobei 2:1-
oder 3:1-Addukte entstehen. Die Ausgangsprodukte der Formel VII sind
bekannt.
Beispiele von freie Radikale bildenden Mitteln sind:
i) ionisierende Bestrahlung;
ii) Ultraviolet-Bestrahlung;
iii) organische Peroxide, z.B. tert-Butylperacetat, tert-Butylperbenzoat,
Acetylperoxid, Benzoylperoxid, Di-Isopropylperdicarbonat,

Bevorzugte freie Radikale bildende Mittel sind organische Peroxide,
organische Azoverbindungen oder Kombinationen eines organischen Peroxids oder einer organischen Azoverbindung mit UV-Bestrahlung.
Die Radikale bildenden Substanzen [iii), iv) oder v)] werden mit Vorteil
in katalytischen Mengen, d.h. 0,1. bis 10 MoI-.%, bevorzugt 1 bis
5 Mol.%, bezogen auf das Diketen, eingesetzt.
Im obigen Verfahren kann die eine oder andere Reaktionskomponente auch
als Lösungsmittel dienen. Gewünschtenfalls kann die Umsetzung unter
Zusätze eines für Reaktionen mit freien Radikalen üblichen inerten
Lösungsmittels durchgeführt werden, z.B. Petroläther für Umsetzungen bei tiefen Temperaturen, Benzol oder Toluol für Umsetzungen bei mittleren
Temperaturen und Chlorbenzol für Umsetzungen bei erhöhten Temperaturen. Die Umsetzung kann gewünschtenfalls in Inertgasatmosphäre, z.B.
unter Stickstoff, durchgeführt werden. Die Reaktxonstemperaturen liegen
je nach der für die Radikalbildung benützten Methode zweckmässig zwischen -200C bis +2000C. Bevorzugt ist ein Temperaturbereich von
800C bis 1200C. Die Umsetzung kann auch unter Druck durchgeführt
werden, z.B. wenn die Verbindungen der Formel VII ein flüssiges Phosphin ist.
Bevorzugt wird ein Gemisch aus Diketen und dem freie Radikale bildenden
Mittel mit einem Ueberschuss der gerührten und erwärmten Phosphorverbindung der Formel VII versetzt; dies kann in verschiedenen Chargen
oder, bevorzugt, kontinuerlich erfolgen, z.B. in einem Kaskadenreaktor.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist auch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von
Verbindungen der Formel I, worin X Sauerstoff oder Schwefel darstellt, indem man eine entsprechende Verbindung der Formel I, worin X nicht
vorhanden ist, mit einem Oxidationsmittel bzw. mit Schwefel umsetzt. Als Oxidationsmittel eignen sich z.B. Wasserstoffperoxid und Luftsauerstoff.
Dieses Verfahren eignet sich besonders zur Herstellung von Verbindungen der Formel I, worin eines oder beide von A und D Wasserstoff
oder eine Gruppe der Formel -CH -·—0 darstellen.
Verbindungen der Formel I, worin A und/oder D eine Gruppe -OR' mit Rr =
Wasserstoff darstellen, können auch durch Hydrolyse oder Alkoholyse entsprechender Verbindungen der Formel I mit R' = Trimethylsilyl zxhalten
werden. Die Hydrolyse kann in an sich bekannter Weise vorge-
nommen werden, z.B. unter sehr milden Bedingungen bei Raumtemperatur
unter Verwendung von stöchiometrischen Mengen Wasser in einem Lösungsmittel
in Gegenwart oder Abwesenheit geeigneter Kationen. Die Alkoholyse kann z.B. bei Raumtemperatur und unter Verwendung des Alkohols
als Lösungsmittels sowie in Gegenwart oder Abwesenheit geeigneter Kationen durchgeführt werden.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I können zum Modifizieren der Reibung oder als Antiverschleissmittel für Schmieröle, zum Flammfestmachen
von natürlichen oder synthetischen Polymeren sowie als Zwischenprodukte für eine grosse Anzahl von chemischen Verbindungen, z.B. Verbindungen
für die Wasserbehandlung, Flammschutzmittel oder biologisch aktive Verbindungen,eingesetzt werden.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist daher auch eine Schmierölzusammensetzung,
enthaltend ein Schmieröl und eine wirksame Menge einer Verbindung der Formel I zum Modifizieren der Reibung oder als Antiverschleissmittel,
gegebenenfalls zusammen mit üblichen Zusatzstoffen.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner ein Verfahren zum Flammfestmachen
von natürlichen oder synthetischen Polymeren, indem man als Flammschutzmittel
eine wirksame Menge einer Verbindung der Formel I verwendet.
In den folgenden Beispielen bedeuten Prozente Gewichtsprozente und
Teile bedeuten Gewichtsteile.
Beispiel 1: Ein Gemisch aus 84 Teilen Diketen und 6,5 Teilen Bis-(tert-ButylcyclohexyD-perdicarbonat
wird tropfenweise innerhalb einer Stunde zu 440 Teilen DimethyIphosphit gegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wird bei 800C in Stickstoffatmosphäre kräftig gerührt. Dabei steigt
die Temperatur des Reaktionsgemisches auf 900C. Nach Abschluss der
Zugabe wird das Reaktionsgemisch während weiterer 40 Minuten auf
80-9O0C erwärmt und dann auf Raumtemperatur (20-250C) abgekühlt.
Ueberschüssiges Dimethylphosphit und weitere flüchtige Materialien
werden bei 1,33 mbar und einer Temperatur gegen IQO0C mittels eines
Rotationsverdampfers entfernt. Der Rückstand wird gekühlt und bei Raumtemperatur in 200 Teilen Aethylacetat gelöst. Zu dieser Lösung
gibt man 750 Teile Cyclohexan und lagert das Gemisch bei 00C während
18 Stunden. Das ausgefallene kristalline Dimethyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat
wird mit Cyclohexan gewaschen und getrocknet; Smp. 46-47°C. Nach dem Umkristallisieren aus Aethylacetat weist die
Verbindung einen Schmelzpunkt von 47-48°C auf. Elementaranalyse für CCH 0 P:

Anstatt durch Umkristallisieren kann das Rohprodukt auch durch Destillation
in einem Dünnschichtverdampfer bei 0,26 mbar und einer Wandtemperatur von 1400C gereinigt werden.
In Tabelle 10 sind weitere 2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonatdiester
zusammengefasst, die wie oben beschrieben durch Umsetzung von Diketen
und den entsprechenden Phosphiten und anschliessend Reinigung des Rohprodukts mittels Destillation in einem Dünnschichtverdampfer erhalten
wurden.

Beispiel 10: Zu einer Lösung von 3,1 Teilen des gemäss Beispiel 8
hergestellten Bis-Trimethylsilyl^-oxo^-oxäthanylmethylphosphonats in
25 Teilen Diäthyläther werden bei Raumtemperatur und unter Rühren 0,36 Teile Wasser zugegeben. Nach 30 Minuten wird die ätherische
Schicht vom ausgefallenen OeI abdekantiert, und das OeI wird zweimal
durch Rühren mit ein wenig Diäthyläther gewaschen. Das OeI wird in
25 Teilen Aethanol bei Raumtemperatur gelöst und dann mit 0,99 Teilen Cyclohexylamin versetzt. Nach 20-minütigem Stehenlassen wird das ausgefallene
Monocyclohexylaminsalz der 2-Oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylρhosphonsäure
mit Aethanol gewaschen und getrocknet; Smp. 129-13O0C.
Elementaranalyse für C H NO P:
berechnet C 45,28% H 7,60% N 5,28% P 11,68% · gefunden C 45,28% H 7,95% N 5,56% P 11,73%.
Beispiel 11; Ein Gemisch von 8,4 Teilen Diketen, 13,6 Teilen eines
Gemisches aus eis- und trans-4-Methyl-2-oxo-l,3,2- dioxaphosphorinan und
1,2 Teilen Benzoylperoxid wird während einer Stunde zu 54,4 Teilen eines Gemisches aus eis- und trans-4-Methyl-2-oxo-l,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan,
das unter Stickstoffatmosphäre gerührt und auf 1200C erwärmt
wird, zugetropft. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wird überschüssiges
Phosphorinan entfernt, indem man das Reaktionsgemisch zweimal durch
einen Molekular-Dünnschichtdampfer leitet, und zwar zuerst bei einer
Wandtemperatur von 600C und dann bei einer Wandtemperatur von 800C.
Der Druck beträgt bei beiden Durchgängen 0,067 mbar. Das Reaktionsprodukt [Gemisch aus eis- und trans-4-Methyl-2-oxo-2-(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-l,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan]
wird bei einer Wandtemperatur von 1500C und einem Druck von 0,067 mbar in einem Dünnschichtverdampfer
destilliert. Man erhält ein farbloses viskoses OeI.
Beispiel 12; Ein Gemisch von 30,8 Teilen Didodecylphosphit, 4,2 Teilen
Diketen und 0,6 Teilen Benzoylperoxid wird tropfenweise im Verlaufe von
30 Minuten mit 42 Teilen Didodecylphosphit, das unter Stickstoff bei 1200C. kräftig gerührt wird, versetzt. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wird
das Reaktionsgemisch noch 30 Minuten gerührt. Dann wird überschüssiges
Didodecylphosphit bei einer Wandtemperatur von 1600C und einem Druck
von 0,067 mbar in einem Dünnschichtverdampfer entfernt. Das zurückbleibende
Didodecyl^-oxo-^-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat wird aus n-Hexan
kristallisiert; Smp. 51-52,5°C.

Beispiel 13: Zu 39,6 Teilen Dodecylmethylphosphit wird unter kräftigem
Rühren bei 85°C und unter Stickstoff im Verlaufe von 30 Minuten tropfenweise
ein Gemisch von 13,2 Teilen Dodecylmethylphosphit, 4,2 Teilen Diketen und 0,6 Teilen Bis-Ctert-ButylcyclohexyD-perdicarbonat zugeben.
Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wird das Reaktionsgemisch während
weiterer 30 Minuten auf 85°C erhitzt, worauf man überschüssiges Dodecylmethylphosphit
bei einer Wandtemperatur von 800C und einem Druck
von 0,013 mbar in einem Dünnschichtverdampfer entfernt. Der Rückstand wird bei einer Wandtemperatur von 1500C und einem Druck von 0,013 mbar
in einem Dünnschichtverdampfer destilliert. Man erhält Dodecyl-methyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat
in Form eines farblosen OeIs mit der folgenden Elementaranalyse (C1-H 0 P):

Beispiel 14: Eine Lösung von 0,16 Teilen Bis-(tert-Butylcyclohexyl)-perdicarbonat
in 2,1 Teilen Diketen wird tropfenweise im Verlaufe von 1 Stunde zu 12,6 Teilen Dimethylthiophosphit, das bei 95°C unter Stickstoff
gerührt wird, gegeben. Die Untersuchung des Reaktionsgemisches mit Infrarot zeigt, dass ein kleiner Anteil ß-Lacton gebildet wurde.
0,6 Teile Benzoylperoxid werden in 2,1 Teilen Diketen und 2,0 Teilen des obigen Reaktionsgemisches gelöst. Dieses Gemisch wird dann innerhalb
einer Stunde tropfenweise zum restlichen Reaktiorsgemisch gegeben, das unter Stickstoff bei 1200C kräftig gerührt wird. Ueberschüssiges

Phosphit wird bei 400C unter vermindertem Druck abdestilliert. Der
Rückstand wird zweimal bei 80°C und 0,067 mbar in einem Kugelrohr destilliert.
Man erhält Dimethyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylthiophosphonat in Form eines orangefarbenen OeIs.

Beispiel 15: Ein Gemisch von 16,8 Teilen Diketen, 4,8 Teilen Benzoylperoxid
und 40,0 Teilen Diäthylthiophosphit wird innerhalb einer Stunde tropfenweise zu 83,3 Teilen Diäthylthiophosphit gegeben, das
unter Stickstoffatmosphäre bei 1200C gerührt wird. Nach Beendigung
der Reaktion werden überschüssiges Ausgangsmaterial und flüchtige
Verunreinigungen entfernt, indem man das Reaktionsgemisch zweimal
durch einen Dünnschichtverdampfer leitet, und zwar zuerst bei 7O°C/2O
mbar und dann bei 45°C/O,O13 mbar. Das Reaktionsprodukt (Diäthyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylthiophosphonat)
wird bei 6O0C und einem Druck von 0,013 mbar an einem Dünnschichtverdampfer destilliert. Es fällt in
Form eines beweglichen orangefarbenen OeIs an, das folgende Elementaranalyse
(C0H _O.PS) aufweist:

Beispiel 16: Ein Gemisch von 8,4 Teilen Diketen, 0,25 Teilen Azobisisobutyronitril
und 50 Teilen Toluol wird bei Raumtemperatur unter Stickstoff mit einer Mitteldruckquecksilberlampe bestrahlt, während
langsam ein Phosphinstrom in das Reaktionsgemisch eingeleitet wird.
Nach zwei Stunden, d.h. nach dem Einleiten von ungefähr 3,4 Teilen Phosphin, wird die Bestrahlung abgebrochen und es wird kein Phosphin
mehr eingeleitet. Das Erscheinen einer Infrarot-Absorption bei 1830 cm zeigt die Bildung von ß-Lactonen in dem Reaktionsgemisch an.

Ein Triplett bei i> + 162,3 (J=194Hz) im P NMR-Spektrum des Reaktionsgemisches bestätigt die Anwesenheit von 2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphin.
Zwei Dublett in dem P NMR-Spektrum bei 8 + 66,7 (J=220Hz)
und O + 65,0 (J=215Hz) zeigt die Anwesenheit der Diastereoisomeren
von Bis-(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phosphin an.
Beispiel 17: Ein Gemisch von 11,0 Teilen Phenylphosphin, 8,4 Teilen
Diketen, 0,25 Teilen Azobisisobutyronitril und 70 Teilen Toluol wird unter Stickstoff während 5 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur mit einer Mitteldruckquecksilberlampe
bestrahlt. Das rohe Reaktionsgemisch wird unter Vakuum bei Raumtemperatur verdampft und dann während 2 Stunden bei
0,013 mbar gehalten, um. flüchtige Verunreinigungen zu entfernen. Man
erhält das Diastereoisomerengemisch von (2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phenylphosphin
in Form eines instabilen OeIs mit einem für ein ß-Lacton charakteristischen IR-Spektrum (C=O , yy_ 1820 cm ), das zudem im
P NMR-Spektrum zwei Signale bei S + 65,6 (Dublett, J=210Hz) und
S + 67,6 (Dublett, J=210Hz) zeigt.
Beispiel 18: Ein Gemisch von 2,1 Teilen Diketen und 0,4 Teilen Azobisisobutyronitril
wird im Verläufe von 15 Minuten tropfenweise zu 18,6 Teilen Diphenylphosphin gegeben, das unter Stickstoff und Rühren
auf 850C erwärmt wird. Nach der Zugabe wird das Reaktionsgemisch noch
während 5 Stunden auf 850C erwärmt und dann auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt.
Ueberschüssiges Diphenylphosphin und flüchtige Verunreinigungen
werden mittels Destillation an einem Dünnschichtverdampfer bei einer Wandtemperatur von 85°C bei einem Druck von 0,04 mbar entfernt. Der
Rückstand wird dann im Dünnschichtverdampfer bei 12O°C/O,O13 mbar
destilliert. Man erhält (2-Oxo-2-oxäthanylmethyl)-diphenylphosphin in
Form eines farblosen OeIs, das im IR-Spektrum eine für ein ß-Lacton
charakteristische Absorption von 1825 cm zeigt.
Beispiel 19: Ein Gemisch von 4,2 Teilen Diketen, 10,1 Teilen Diphenylphosphensäure,
2,3 Teilen Bis-itert-ButylcyclohexyD-perdicarbonat und
70 Teilen Toluol wird bei Raumtemperatur mittels eines Stickstoffstroms in einer Quarzapparatur gerührt und dabei durch eine Mitteldruckquecksilberlampe
mit UV-Licht bestrahlt. Nach dreistündiger

Bestrahlung wird das Reaktionsgemisch filtriert, und das Filtrat wird
verdampft. Der halbkristalline Rückstand wird mit etwas Toluol verrieben.
Die Kristalle werden dann auf einem Filter gesammelt und mit Toluol gewaschen. Durch Umkristallisieren aus Toluol erhält man farbloses
kristallines (2-0xo-2-oxäthanylmethyl)-diphenylphosphinoxid; Smp. 154-1550C.

Beispiel 20: Ein Gemisch von 9,3 Teilen Diphenylphosphin, 4,2 Teilen
Diketen, 0,25 Teilen Azobisisobutyronitri1 und 70 Teilen Toluol wird
bei Raumtemperatur mit einem Stickstoffstrom gerührt und dabei durch eine Mitteldruckquecksilberlampe mit UV-Licht bestrahlt. Nach 22 Stunden
Bestrahlung wird das Reaktionsgemisch bei Raumtemperatur unter
vermindertem Druck verdampft, und der ölige Rückstand wird zum Enfernen flüchtiger Verunreinigungen während 1 Stunde bei Raumtemperatur
und 0,013 mbar gehalten. Man erhält (2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-diphenylphosphin,
wie sich aus dem Vergleich des IR-Spektrums des erhaltenen Rückstands mit dem IR-Spektrum der gemäss Beispiel 18 erhaltenen Verbindung
ergibt.
Das rohe (2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-diphenylphosphin wird in Toluol
gelöst. Dann wird während 16 Stunden ein Luftstrom hindurchgeleitet. Die Lösung wird in eine Kieselgelsäule gegeben, und die Säule wird mit
Toluol mit steigendem Gehalt an Aethylacetat eluiert. Die abschliessende Eluierung mit Methanol ergibt eine Fraktion, die aus einem
Gemisch von Diphenylphosphensäure und (2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-diphenylphosphinoxid
besteht. Zweimalige Kristallisierung dieser Fraktion aus Toluol ergibt reines (2-0xo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-diphenylphosphinoxid
in Form weisser Kristalle, das mit der Verbindung gemäss Beispiel 19 identisch ist.
Beispiel 21: Ein Gemisch von 0,84 Teilen Diketen und 0,26 Teilen Azobisisobutyronitril
wird tropfenweise zu einer rückflüssierenden Lösung von 1,25 Teilen Bis-(2-Cyanäthyl)-phosphensäure in 25,0 Teilen MethyI-cyanid
gegeben. Nach der Zugabe wird die Lösung unter vermindertem Druck verdampft, und der Rückstand wird während 14 Stunden unter Hochvakuum
gehalten. Das Rohprodukt wird durch Auflösen in Aceton und Abfiltrieren von nicht umgesetzter Bis-(2-Cyanäthyl)-phosphensäure gereinigt.
Nach dem Verdampfen des Acetons wird der Rückstand kräftig mit Toluol verrieben. Nach dem Trocknen unter Hochvakuum erhält man
Bis-(2-Cyanäthyl)(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phosphinoxid als viskoses farbloses OeI mit für ein ß-Lacton bzw. eine Cyanogruppe charakteristischen
IR-Banden bei 1820 cm und 2240 cm .
Beispiel 22: Ein Gemisch von 10,9 Teilen Diphenylthiophosphensäure,
4,2 Teilen Diketen, 1,25 Teilen Azobisisobutyronitril und 70 Toluol wird bei Raumtemperatur mittels eines Stickstoffstroms gerührt und
dabei durch eine Mitteldruckquecksilberlampe mit UV-Licht bestrahlt. Nach 2,5 Stunden wird die Bestrahlung beendet, und das Toluol wird
verdampft. Der Rückstand wird mit 30 Teilen Diäthyläther verrieben. Man erhält weisse Kristalle,die zweimal aus einem Gemisch von Toluol/
Petroläther (Siedebereich 100-1200C) umkristallisiert werden. Dies
ergibt (2-Oxo-2-oxäthany!methyl)-diphenylphosphin-sulfid mit einem
Smp. von 1O6-1O7°C.

Beispiel 23: Eine Lösung von 0,98 Teilen Bis-(tert-Butylcyclohexyl)-
-perdicarbonat in 12,6 Teilen Diketen wird im Verlaufe einer Stunde
tropfenweise zu 90,2 Teilen n-Butyläthylphosphonit gegeben, das bei
85°C unter Stickstoff kräftig gerührt wird. Nach der Zugabe leitet man das Reaktionsgemisch bei 5O°C/O,13 mbar durch einen Dünnschichtverdampfer,
um überschüssiges Phosphonit zu entfernen. Der Rückstand
wird bei 75°C/O,O13 mfaar am Dünnschichtverdampfer destilliert. Man erhält
n-Butyläthyl-(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phosphinat als farbloses

OeI, das gemäss P NMR-Spektrum aus fast gleichen Anteilen der Diastereoisomeren mit chemischen Verschiebungen bei £-52,4 und S-52,7
besteht.

Beispiel 24: Ein Gemisch von 8,4 Teilen Diketen, 2,5 Teilen Benzoylperoxid
und 20,0 Teilen Aethylphenylphosphonit wird innerhalb einer Stunde tropfenweise zu 48,1 Teilen Aethylphenylphosphonit gegeben, das
kräftig gerührt und unter Stickstoff auf 12O°C erhitzt wird. Ueberschüssiges
Phosphonit wird entfernt, indem man das Reaktionsgemisch bei 8O°C/O,O13 mbar durch einen Dünnschichtverdampfer leitet. Der Rückstand
wird bei 110°C/0,013 mbar an einem Dünnschichtverdampfer destilliert.
Man erhält Aethyl(2-oxo~4-oxäthanylmethyl)-phenylphosphinat
als farbloses OeI, das gemäss P NMR-Spektrum aus fast gleichen Anteilen
der Diastereoisomeren mit chemischen Verschiebungen bei o-37,5 und d-37,7 besteht.

Beispiel 25: Ein Gemisch von 7,4 Teilen Diketen und 1,2 Teilen Bis-
-(tert-ButylcyclohexyD-perdicarbonat wird innerhalb einer Stunde tropfenweise
zu 65,4 Teilen n-Butylphenylthiophosphonit gegeben, das unter
kräftigem Rühren und unter Stickstoff auf 850C erwärmt wird. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wird dann bei 70°ΟΌ,0133 mbar durch einen Dünnschichtverdampfer
geleitet, um nicht umgesetzte Ausgangsmaterialien zu entfernen. Der Rückstand wird bei 115°C/0,013 mbar am Dünnschichtverdampfer
destilliert. Man erhält rohes η-Butyl(2-oxo-4-oxäthany!methyl)-
-phenylthiophosphinat als farbloses OeI, das eine flüchtigere Verunreinigung
enthält. Das Rohprodukt leitet man bei 85°C/O,O13 mbar durch
einen Dünnschichtverdampfer. Die nicht flüchtige Fraktion besteht aus
reinem n-Butyl(2-oxo-4-äthanylmethyl)-phenylthiophosphinat, das gemäss
P NMR-Spektrum ein Diastereoisomerengemisch mit chemischen Verschiebungen
bei <f-83,7 und S-B3,2 ist.

gefunden C 56,21% H 6,41% S 10,38%.

Beispiel 26: Ein Gemisch von 4,2 Teilen Diketen und 0,33 Teilen Bis-(tert-Butylcyclohexyl)-perdicarbonat
wird innerhalb einer Stunde tropfenweise zu 27,2 Teilen Isobutylmethylphosphonit gegeben, das kräftig
gerührt und unter Stickstoff auf 85°C erwärmt wird. Nach der Zugabe leitet man das Reaktionsgemisch bei 50°C/0,13 mbar durch einen Dünnschichtverdampfer,
um überschüssiges Phosphonit zu entfernen. Der Rückstand wird bei 75°C/O,13 mbar am Dünnschichtverdampfer destilliert. Man
erhält Isobutyl-methyl(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylniethyl)-phosphinat als farbloses
OeI mit einem charakteristischen Infrarot-Band bei 1820 cm
Beispiele 27-30: Wirkung als Antiverschleissmittel:
Es wird ein Shell-Vierkugelapparat zur Ermittlung der Hochdruckeigenschaften
verwendet. Es werden damit die folgenden Eigenschaften geprüft (gemäss IP 239/73 Tentative):
i) Initial Seizure Load (I.S.L.), was der Belastung entspricht, bei welcher der Oel-Film zuerst innerhalb von 10 Sekunden

ii) Scar Diameter, nachdem während einer Stunde mit 70 kg belastet wurde, wobei das OeI anfänglich Raumtemperatur aufweist.

Als Schmieröl wird OeI von 30 Grad SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers)
mit einer Viskosität von 116 cSt bei 1000F benützt. Die Prüfergebnisse
sind in der folgenden Tabelle 11 zusammengefasst:

Beispiel 31: Flammfestmachen von Baumwollgewebe
Ein Stück Baumwollgewebe wird während 5 Minuten in kalte 15%ige NaOH
eingetaucht, dann während 1 Minute kalt gespült und ausgepresst. Danach wird das Baumwollgewebe während 5 Minuten bei 5°C in eine 30%ige
wässrige Lösung der Verbindung gemäss Beispiel 1 eingetaucht, darauf
während 5 Minuten in kochendem Wasser gespült, während 5 Minuten mit 5 ml/Liter 40%iger Essigsäure neutralisiert, kalt gespült und schliesslich
ausgepresst und getrocknet. Das Baumwo11gewebe hat einen angenehmen
Griff und zeigt keine Festigkeitseinbusse. Phosphorgehalt ca. 3 Gew.%. Das so behandelte Baumwollgewebe zeigt eine deutliche Flammfes
twirkung.

- 8. Verbindungen gemäss einem der Ansprüche 5, 6 oder 8, worin R" C -Alkyl bedeutet.

Dimethyl~2~oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Diethyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyIphosphonat, Di-n-Butyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Di-n-Octyl-Z-oxo^-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Di-2-Aethylhexyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyIphosphonat, Di-Isopropyl^-oxo^-oxäthanylmethylphosphonat, Di-Cyclohexyl-2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyIphosphonat, n-Butyläthyl-(2-oxo-4-oxäthanylmethyl)phosphinat und Isobutyl-methyl(2-0X0-4-äthanylmethyl)phosphinat als Verbindungen der Formel I gemäss Anspruch 1.
- 10. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Verbindungen der Formel I oder Salzen davon gemäss Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Verbindung der Formel VIIworin A, D und X die im Anspruch 1 angegebene Bedeutung haben, in Gegenwart eines freie Radikale bildenden Mittels mit Diketen umsetzt und gegebenenfalls anschliessend Verbindungen der Formel I mit R1 = H in definitionsgemässe Salze überführt.
- 11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man als freie Radikale bildende Mittel organische Peroxide, organische Azoverbindungen oder Kombinationen eines organischen Peroxids oder einer organischen Azoverbindung mit UV-Bestrahlung einsetzt.
- 12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Umsetzung kontinuierlich durchführt.
- 13. Verwendung von Verbindungen der Formel I nach Anspruch 1 in Schmieröl zusammensetzungen, enthaltend ein Schmieröl und gegebenenfalls übliche Zusatzstoffe, zur Modifizierung der Reibung und/oder als Antiverschleissmittel.
- 14. Verwendung von Verbindungen der Formel I nach Anspruch 1 zum Flammfestmachen von natürlichen oder synthetischen Polymeren.
