Description

In der Patentschrift 279582 ist ein Verfahren zur katalytischen Herstellung von Wasserstoff durch Umsetzung von Kohlenoxyd-Wasserdampfgemischen beschrieben, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß Kontaktmassen verwendet werden,die neben dem katalysierenden Metall oder Oxyd oder Gemischen solcher untereinander oder mit anderen Körpern aktivierende Körper, insbesondere Sauerstoffverbindungen des Chroms, Thoriums, Urans, Berylliums, Antimons u. dgl. oder Gemische solcher enthalten.
Es hat sich nun gezeigt, daß in diesem Verfahren im Falle der Verwendung von solchen Formen katalysierender Metalle der Eisengruppe (insbesondere Eisen, Nickel, Kobalt) oder deren Oxyden oder Gemischen solcher, die an sich wenig wirksam sind, z. B. infolge kristallinischer Beschaffenheit oder weil sie vorher hohen: Temperaturen ausgesetzt waren, als aktivierende Zusätze auch Verbindungen, insbesondere Hydroxyde oder Salze, des katalysierenden Metalls selbst zugesetzt werden können.
Beispiele:
i. Eisenoxyd, das. " bei seiner Herstellung hohen Temperaturen ausgesetzt war, wird mit ungefähr 1J3 seines Gewichts feuchtem Eisenhydroxyd zusammengeknetet, das Ganze geformt, getrocknet und in den Kontaktofen gefüllt.
2. Engmaschiges Eisendrahtnetz, z. B. in Röllchenform, wird ein oder mehrere Male mit einer konzentrierten Eisennitratlösung (etwa ι Teil Nitrat auf 2 Teile Eisendraht) angeätzt bzw. ,erhitzt, worauf durch weiteres mäßiges Erhitzen das noch vorhandene Nitrat völlig zersetzt werden kann. ♦
In allen Fällen zeigt die Kontaktmasse beim Überleiten eines Wasserdampf-Wassergasgemisches bei z. B. 5000 eine bedeutend höhere Wirksamkeit als das Ausgangsmaterial.

Claims (1)

  1. Patent-Anspruch:
    Ausführungsform des Verfahrens zur Herstellung von Wasserstoff durch kata-Iy tische Umsetzung von Kohlenoxyd-Wasserdampfgemischen gemäß Patent 279582, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß im Falle der Verwendung von solchen Formen katalysierender Metalle der Eisengruppe (insbesondere Eisen, Nickel, Kobalt) oder deren Oxyden oder Gemischen solcher, die an sich wenig wirksam sind, als aktivierende Zusätze Verbindungen, insbesondere Hydroxyde oder Salze, des katalysierenden Metalls selbst benutzt werden.
