Description
KAISERLICHES
PATENTAMT
Durch Patent 286266, Zusatz zum Patent 284533, ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung zweiwertiger
Phenole und ihrer Substitutionsprodukte geschützt, welches darin besteht, daß man Dihalogensubstitutionsprodukte aromatischer
Kohlenwasserstoffe oder deren Derivate, wie die Sulfo- und Carbonsäuren, mit Erdalkalihydroxyden,
gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz von Alkalien, in Gegenwart von Kupfer oder Kupferverbindungen als Katalysatoren unter
Druck erhitzt.
Es wurde nun in weiterer Ausbildung dieses Verfahrens gefunden, daß man auch Monohalogensubstitutionsprodukte
aromatischer Kohlenwasserstoffe oder deren Substitutionsprodukte, wie die Sulfo- und Carbonsäuren, nach der
gleichen Methode in guter Ausbeute in die entsprechenden einwertigen Phenole überführen
kann.
Phenol aus Chlorbenzol.
115 g Chlorbenzol werden mit 100 g frisch
gelöschtem Kalk, 10 g Jodkalium und 500 ecm
Wasser 30 Stunden im Kupferkessel bei 240 ° geschüttelt. Das nach dem Ansäuern durch
Extraktion oder mit Wasserdampf abgetrennte Phenol wird durch Destillation gereinigt. Die
Ausbeute ist eine sehr gute; die Reinheit des Produktes ist besonders bemerkenswert.
Phenol-p-sulfosäure aus p-Chlorbenzolsulf osäure.
25 g p-chlorbenzolsulfosaures Natrium werden
mit 65 g Bariumhydroxyd und Ϊ00 g Wasser 8 Stunden bei 200 ° im kupfernen Druckgefäß erhitzt. Nach dem Ansäuern mit
80 ecm konzentrierter Salzsäure und Versetzen mit Kochsalz scheidet sich das Natriumsalz
der Phenol-p-sulfosäure in langen Nadeln ab.
Phenol-p-sulfosäure aus p-Brombenzol-
sulfosäure.
30 Teile p-brombenzolsulfosaures Natrium
werden mit 25 Teilen frisch gelöschtem Kalk und 100 Teilen Wasser unter Zusatz von
wenig Kupfersulfat im versilberten Druckkessel 10 Stunden bei i8o° gerührt. Nach dem Ansäuern
mit Salzsäure und Aussalzen erhält man die Phenol-p-sulfosäure bzw. deren Natriumsalz
in einer Ausbeute von etwa 75 Prozent der Theorie.

Phenol aus Chlorbenzol durch Verschmelzen mit einem Gemisch aus
Calciumhydroxid' und Natriumhydroxyd.

120 g Chlorbenzol werden mit 300 ecm 12 prozentiger Natronlauge, 60 g Calciumhydroxyd
und 5 g Jodkalium in einem kupfernen Druckkessel 40 Stunden auf 240 bis 250 ° erhitzt.
Das Reaktionsgemisch wird angesäuert und der Wasserdampfdestillation unterworfen,
wobei unverändertes Chlorbenzol, Phenol und etwas Phenyläther übergehen. Aus dem Destillat
wird durch fraktionierte Destillation das Phenol in einer Ausbeute von 70 Prozent, berechnet
auf das in Reaktion getretene Chlorbenzol, gewonnen.
Salicylsäure aus o-Chlorbenzoesäure.
12 g o-chlorbenzoesaures Natrium werden
mit 30 g Calciumhydroxyd und 100 g Wasser
während 6 Stunden auf eine Temperatur von 160 bis 170 ° in einem Kupferkessel erhitzt.
Nach dem Ansäuern mit Salzsäure scheidet sich die Salicylsäure ab. Die Ausbeute beträgt
etwa 75 Prozent.
p-Oxybenzoesäure aus p-Brombenzoe-
säure.
12 g p-Brombenzoesäure werden mit 40 g
Bariumhydroxyd und 120 g Wasser 6 Stunden auf 160 ° in einem. Küpferkessel erhitzt. Aus
dem Reaktionsgemisch "gewinnt man durch Ansäuern mit Salzsäure die p-Oxybenzoesäure in
guter Ausbeute.

- Patent-Anspruch:Abänderung des durch Patent 286266, Zusatz zum Patent 284533, geschützten Verfahrens, darin bestehend, daß man zwecks Darstellung einwertiger Phenole und ihrer Substitutionsprodukte an Stelle von Dihalogensubstitutionsprodukten aromatischer Kohlenwasserstoffe oder ihrer Derivate, wie der Sulfo- und Carbonsäuren, die entsprechenden Älonohalogenverbindungen verwendet.
