Die Erfindung betrifft einen Katalysator zur Umwandlung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, der gegebenenfalls
auf einen inerten festen Träger aufgebracht ist, erhalten durch Mischen einer Lewis-Säure, die aus Arsen-,
Tantal-, Vanadium-, Antimonpentafluorid, Zirkoniumtetidfluorid
oder Molybdänhexafluorid besteht, mit einer perfluorierten Alkylsulfonsäuie. a
Bekanntlich werden auf dem Gebiet der Erdölraffination zahlreiche Umwandlungen von Erdölprodukten,
wie Isomerisation, Alkylierung, Desalkylierung und Polymerisation von Kohlenwasserstoffen, unter Verwendung
von Katalysatoren mit saurem Charakter durchgeführt. Als Beispiel saurer Katalysatoren seien
genannt Aluminiumoxid, Siliciumdioxid-Aluminiumoxid,
die Zeolithe, Aluminiumchlorid und -bromid, chlorierte Aluminiumoxide und die flüssigen Mineralsäuren, wie
Schwefelsäure, Fluorwasserstoffsäure und Phosphorsäure.
Aus der FR-PS 20 05 043 ist bekannt, daß die Isomerisation von aliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen,
welche mindestens 5 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten, in Gegenwart von Wasserstoff mittels eines sauren
Katalysators durchgeführt werden kann, der aus einer Kombination von Fluorwasserstoffsäure und Antimonpentafluorid
besteht.
Nach dem aus der US-PS 35 94 445 bekannten Verfahren verwendet man zur Isomerisation von
normalen und naphthenischen Paraffinen einen Katalysator, der

2) eine Fluorosulfonsäure enthält,
in Gegenwart von Wasserstoff und einem Olefin und/oder einem Alkylfluorosulfonat.
Ein anderer zur Isomerisation, Alkylierung und Polymerisation dienender Katalysator ist aus der US-PS
36 78 120 bekannt. Dieser Katalysator enthält Antimonpeniafluorid
und Fluorwasserstoffsäure oder eine Fluorsulfonsäure.
Schließlich ist es aus der US-PS 37 08 553 bekannt, die Alkylierung von Kohlenwasserstoffen mittels eines
Katalysators durchzuführen, der aus einer Lewis-Säure der Formel MXn* worin M ein Metall der Gruppen IVa,
V oder VIa des periodischen Systems, X ein Halogenatom, vorzugsweise Fluor, und m eine Zahl
zwischen 3 und 6 sind, und einer starken Säure, nämlich Fluorosulfonsäure oder Trifluoromethansulfonsäure,
besteht.
Es wurde nun ein neuer besonders stark saurer Katalysator gefunden, welcher für Umwandlungsreaktionen
von aliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen verwendbar ist und überraschenderweise deren Ausbeute
erheblich verbessert
Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Katalysator zur Umwandlung von Kohlenwasserstoffen der eingang., angegebenen
Art vorgeschlagen, der die in Anspruch 1 angegebenen Merkmale aufweist.
Unter perfkioriertem Rest ist ein Kohlenwasserstoff-Test
zu verstehen, dessen Wasserstoffatome durch Fluoratome substituiert sind.
In der folgenden Beschreibung wird der Ausdruck »Protonensäure« benutzt, um die Gesamtheit der
erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Sulfonsäure zu bezeichnen. Die erfindungsgemäßen Protonensäuren sind
ausgewählt aus:
— perfluorierten Alkylsulfonsäuren der Formel C„F(2n+ I)SOsH, worin π eine Zahl zwischen 2 und 8
ist,
— perfluorierten Alkyldisulfonsäuren der Formel C„F2/r(SO3H)2, worin η eine Zahl zwischen 2 und 8 ist,
— perfluorierten Cycloalkylsulfonsäuren der Formel CnF(2n-I)(SOiH), worin η eine Zahl zwischen 5 und 8
ist.
Der erfindungsgemäße Katalysator besteht aus einem Gemisch einer Protonensäure der oben angegebenen
Definition und einer Lewis-Säure der eingangs und im Anspruch I angegebenen Definition.
Selbstverständlich v/ird man im allgemeinen nur eine Lewis-Säure benutzen, jedoch kann auch ein Gemisch
von mehreren Lewis-Säuren benutzt werden. Bevorzugt wird Antimonpentafluorid.
Der Katalysator enthält 0,5 bis 5 Mole, insbesondere I bis 3 Mole, Lewis-Säure für ein Mol Protonensäure der
Formel RF(SO3H)p.
In den verschiedenen Umwandlungsverfahren von Kohlenwasserstoffen kann der erfindungsgemäße Katalysator
entweder in flüssiger oder fester Form eingesetzt werden. Obgleich die flüssigen Katalysatoren
aktiv sind, ist es oft vorteilhaft, einen festen Katalysator einzusetzen, da dieser von der Charge leichter
abtrennbar ist, vor allem wenn er nicht rasch verschmutzt.
Ein Katalysator besteht im allgemeinen aus einem inerten festen Träger, der mit einem aktiven Material
imprägniert ist. Beispielsweise benutzt man bei üblichen Verfahren zur Alkylierung von Paraffinen und Polymerisation
von Olefinen oft ein flüssiges aktives Mittel, Schwefelsäure oder Phosphorsäure, das auf einem
festen Träger, wie Siliciumdioxid oder Siliciumdioxid-Aluminiumoxid abgeschieden ist.
Der erfindungsgemäße Katalysator kann mit allen für den Katalysator geeigneten Trägern benutzt werden.
Dieser Träger muß jedoch wohlüberlegt ausgewählt werden, da der von Natur aus sehr saure Katalysator
zahlreiche übliche Träger zerstört, was seine Acidität
herabsetzt und ihn daher teilweise desaktiviert Um diesen Nachteil zu vermeiden, wählt man Träger, welche
die Acidität des Katalysators nicht blockieren und gegenüber dem aktiven Material inert sind.
Um geeignete inerte Träger auszuwählen, unterwirft man sie einem Test, der darin besteht, nach 15 Minuten
den Umwandlungsgrad einer Charge von η-Hexan zu messen, die über den mit einem 2/1 molaren Gemisch
von Antimonpentafluorid (SbFs) und Trifluoromethansulfonsäure
(CF3SO3H) imprägnierten Träger unter folgenden Verfahrensbedingungen geleitet wird:
Temperatur: 500C
Volranen der Charge (Hexan)
Volumen des Katalysators
Volumen des Katalysators
Druck: I At
pro Stunde: 30
Wenn der Träger gegenüber dem aktiven Material nicht inert ist, ist nach 15 Minuten praktisch kein
η-Hexan umgewandelt, und die Qualität des untersuchten Trägers wird durch den Umwandlungsgrad gemessen.
Durch diese Prüfmethode kann man ausgezeichnete Träger auswählen, wie Calciumfluorid (CaF2), Polytetrafluoräthylen,
Kohlenstofffluorid (CF019), Aluminiumtrifluorid
(AlF3).
Der erfindungsgemäße Katalysator ist bei zahlreichen
Verfahren zur Umwandlung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, wie Isomerisierung von Pa jffinen. Alkylierung
von Olefinen durch Paraffne. Polymerisiert!ng von
Olefinen, Kracken und Dismutierts von Paraffinen, Alkylierung von organischen Sauerstoffverbindungen
(z. B. Phenol oder An-isol) durch Aromaten oder
Olefine, Isomerisierung vqm empfindlichen Produkten, wie Steroide, bei sehr tieller Temperatur, Carbonisierung
von Olefinen oder Aromaten durch Kohlenoxid verwendbar.
Bei der Durchführung dieser verschiedenen Verfahren gibt man gewöhnlich dem Reaktionsmilieu Verbindungen
zu, welche unerwünschte Nebenreaktionen zurückdrängen sollen. Die Wahl dieser Verbindungen
hängt selbstverständlich van der Art der gewünschten Umwandlung ab. Als Beispiel seien die folgenden
Inhibitoren genannt: Wasserstoff, Olefine, Benzol, Alkylfluorosulfonate.
Der erfindungsgemäße Katalysator liefert ausgezeichnete Ergebnisse bei der Isomerisierung und
Alkylierung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, welche 4 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatome aufweisen.
Die Erfindung wird erläutert durch die folgenden Ausführungsbeispiele, welche sich auf die Isomerierung
von n-Pentan zu Isopentan und auf die Alkylierung von Isobutan durch Propylen beziehen.
Von den in der folgenden Tabelle I angegebenen ersten 4 Beispielen wurden die Beispiele 1 und 2 mit
bereits bekannten Katalysatoren der Formeln SbFs, FSO3H bzw. SbF51CF3SO3H durchgeführt. Die Beispiele
3 und 4 wurden mit erfindungsgemäßen Katalysatoren durchgeführt, welche SbFs und C4F9SOJH bzw. SbFs und
C6Fi3SO3H enthielten.
Das Verfahren in diesen 4 Beispielen war wie folgt:
In einen Autoklaven von 12,5 ml Inhalt gibt man 7,5 ml n-Pentan (0,065 Mol) und ein Gemisch im
Molverhältnis 71'. von Antimonpentafluorid (0,00250 Mol) und perfluorierter Sulfonsäure
(0,00125 Mol). Man setzt diesen Ansatz unter einen Druck von 5 bar Wasserstoff. Der Autoklav wird 45
Minuten lang bei einer Temperatur von 8O0C gerührt. Die Reaktionsprodukte werden durch Gasphasenchromatographie
analysiert.

Die Analyse der erhaltenen Werte zeigt, daß
1) das für die Isomerisierungsreaktion von n-Cs zu IS0-C5 repräsentative Verhältnis iso-Cs/n-Cs steigt
mit der Verlängerung der fluocarbonierien Kette,
welche die Funktion SO3H trägt.
2) die unerwünschten Krack- und Dismulierungsreaktionen steigen in gleicher Weise.
Das Verfahren bei den Beispielen 5 bis 13, deren Ergebnisse in der folgenden Tabelle Il angegeben sind,
war wie folgt:
In einen Rührautoklaven aus Aluminiumlegierung,
der mit einer Probenahmevorrichtung versehen ist, um eine häufige chromatographische Analyse zu ermöglichen,
gibt man den Katalysator und eine Charge von n-Pentan von 994 Gewichts-%, Der Reaktor, die
Charge und der Katalysator sind sorgfältig getrocknet und werden unter Feuchtigkeitsausschluß gehalten. Die
Reaktion wird bei Raumtemperatur von etwa 25°C in einer Stickstoff und Wasserstoff enthaltenden Atmosphäre
durchgeführt. Allgemein werden Isomerisierungsreaktionen
bei ziemlich tiefen Temperaturen zwischen - lOund + 100"Cdurchgeführt.

im Beispiel 12 befinden sich die SO3H-Gruppen der Säure C2F4(SOjH) an zwei verschiedenen Kohlenstoffatomen. Im Beispiel 13
ist die Sulfonsäure C6Fn(SO3H) Perfluorocyclohcxansulfonsäjre.
In den Beispielen 14 und 15 wurde der Katalysatorbestandteil SbF5 ersetzt durch TaF5 (Beispiel 14) bzw. AsF5 (Beispiel 15).

Die leichten Produkte sind η-Butan und Isobutan und die schweren Produkte die verschiedenen Isomeren von
Paraffinen mit 6 bis 9 C-Atomen. μ
Im Beispiel 9 wurde die Reaktion mit Isopentan einfach als Experiment durchgeführt, um festzustellen,
in welchen Anteilen sich die nicht erwünschten Gase, welche aus n-Pentan und leichten und schweren Gasen
bestehen, bilden.
Wenn man die Ergebnisse der Beispiele 7 und 11 vergleicht, findet man, daß Wasserstoff die Isomerierung begünstigt, da nach 8 Stunden im Beispiel 7 27,5
Gewichts-tyi) Isopentan, in Beispiel 11 dagegen 76,5
Gewichts-% vorliegen. Ein Vergleich von Beispiel 11 mit den Beispielen 14 und 15 zeigt ähnlich vorteilhafte
Ergebnisse für Katalysatoren mit verschiedenen Lewis-Säuren.
Beispiel 16
In einen Stahlautoklaven gibt man 43 g Antimonpcntafluorid und 2,4 g Perfluoräthansulfonsäure
(C2F5SO3H). Man bringt den Katalysator auf 0°C und
läßt eine Stunde lang unter Rühren ein Gemisch von 30 g Isobutan und 4,5 g Propylen reagieren. Nach der
Reaktion wird der Reaktor wieder auf Raumtemperatur erwärmt, und man entspannt den Inhalt auf Atmosphärendruck. Es werden 22 g Gas aufgefangen, welche 98
Gewichts-% Isobutan und 1,5 Gewichts-% Propylen enthalten. Die flüssige Phase wird mit Wasser behandelt,
dann dekantiert, und man gewinnt 10,6 g flüssige Kohlenwasserstoffe folgender Gewichtszusammenset-
Isobutan 2,8%
C5 8,4%
C6 11,9%
C7 19,7%
C8 44.0%
C,+ 11,5%
Dieses Beispiel zeigt, daß die erfindungsgemäßen Katalysatoren Alkylierungsreaktionen an Paraffinen
durch Olefine bewirken können.
Claims (2)
1. Katalysator zur Umwandlung von Kohlenwasserstoffen,
der gegebenenfalls auf einen inerten Träger aufgebracht ist, erhalten durch Mischen einer
Lewis-Säure, die aus Arsen-, Tantal-, Vanadium-, Antimonpentafluorid, Zirkoniumtetrafluorid oder
Molybdänhexafluorid besteht, mit einer perfluorier- to
ten Alkylsulfonsäure, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Lewis-Säure mit einer perforierten
Alkylsulfonsäure der allgemeinen Formel RF(SCbH)P, wobei RF ein perfluorierter Alkyl- oder
Cycloalkylrest mit 2 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen ist und ρ 1 oder 2 sein kann, in einem Molverhältnis
zwischen 0,5 und 5 gemischt wird.
2. Verwendung des Katalysators nach Anspruch 1 zum lsomerisieren von Kohlenwasserstoffen, besonders
in Gegenwart von Wasserstoff.
