Es ist einleuchtend, dass nach Herstellung der Schlüsselverbindung
(C) - eines Hydroxyphenylhamstoffes - dieser
in Gegenwart von Easen o-alkyliert werden kann. Dieses
Verfahren erlaubt es - ausgehend von einem Hydroxyphenylharnstoff - mit den mannigfaltigen Alkyllerungsmitteln
mehrere neue Produkte zu bekommen.

Im Schema Λ und B haben X, R,, Rg, R,, R^ und R1. die eingangs
erwähnte Bedeutung.
Z und Z1 bedeuten Abgangsgruppen wie z.B. Chlor, Brom oder
Jod. M ist ein Alkalimetall wie z.B. Natrium oder Kalium. Als Basen können organische sowie anorganische verwendet
werden. Bei den ersten sei Triethylamin und Pyridin, bei
den letzteren Kalium- oder Natriumbikarbonal oder Kalium-Hör
Natriumkarbonat erwähnt. Diese Aufzählung hat illustrativen
und nicht limitierenden Charakter.
Die Wirkstoffe der Formel I können zur selektiven Bekämpfung
von Unkräutern in Mais, Reis, Baumwolle, Soja und Getreide wie z.B. Weizen, Gerste und Hafer sowohl im Vorauflauf als
auch irn Nachauflaufverfahren eingesetzt werden. Dabei können
die Aufwandmengen in weiten Grenzen schwanken z.B. zwischen
0,1 bis 10 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektare, vorzugsweise aber 0,5 bis 5 kg
pro Hektare. Die Wirkstoffe der- Formel I können allein oder zu-

sammen mit geeigneten Trägemund/oder andere Zuschlagstoff
ei eingesetzt werden. Geeignete Träger und Zuschlagstoffe
können fest oder flüssig sein und entsprechen .den in der Formulierungstechnik üblichen Stoffen, wie z.B.' natürlichen
oder regenerierten mineralischen Stoffen, Lösungs-, Verdünnungs-,
Dispergier-, Netz-, Haft-, Verdickungs-, Bindeoder Düngemitteln. Ferner können noch weitere biozide Verbindungen
zugesetzt werden.- Solche biozide Verbindungen können z.B. der Klasse der Harnstoffe, der gesättigten.oder ungesättigten
Halogenfettsäuren, Halogenbenzonitrile, Halogenbenzoesäuren,
Phenoxyalkylcarbonsäuren, Carbamate, Triazine, Nitroalkylphenole, org.Phosphorsaureverbindungen, quaternären
Ammoniumsalze, Sulfaminsäuren, Arsenate, Arsenite, Borate oder Chlorate angehören. Bei der Herstellung von herbizid v/irksamen
Mitteln kommen z.B. die folgenden Komponenten zur Kombination in Frage:

Solche Mittel können in Form von Lösungen, Emulsionen Suspensionen, Granulaten oder Stäubemitteln zur Anwendung
gelangen. Die Anwendungsformen richten sich nach den Verwendungszwecken
und müssen eine feine Verteilbarkeit der V/irksubstanz gewährleisten. Insbesondere bei der totalen
Vertilgung von Pflanzenwuchs., bei der vorzeitigen Austrocknung
sowie der Entblätterung kann die Wirkung durch die Verwendung von an sich phytotoxischen Trägerstoffen, wie z.B. hochsiedenden
Mineralölfraktionen oder Chlorkohlenwasserstoffen, verstärkt
tverden; andererseits kommt die Selektivität der Wachstumshemmung
bei der Verwendung von gegenüber Pflanzen indifferenten Trägerstoffen,
z.B. in der selektiven Unkrautbekämpfung, im allgemeinen deutlich zur Geltung,

Zur Herstellung von Lösungen kommen Lösungsmittel, wie
insbesondere Alkohole, z.B. Aethyl- oder Isopropylalkohol, Ketone, wie Aceton oder Cyclohexanon, aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffe,
wie Kerosen und cyclische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Tetrahydronaphthalin, alkylierte
Naphthaline, ferner chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Tetrachloräthan,
Aethylenchlorid, und endlich auch mineralische und pflanzliche OeIe oder Gemische der obengenannten Stoffe
in Frage. ""
Bei den wässrigen Aufarbeitungsformen handelt es sich vorzugsweise um Emulsionen und Dispersionen. Die Wirkstoffe
v/erden als solche oder in einem der obengenannten Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise mittels Netz- oder Dispergiermitteln,
in Wasser homogenisiert. An kationaktiven Dispergiermitteln seien als Beispiele quaternäre Ammoniumverbindungen
genannt, an anionaktiven z.B. Seifen, aliphatische langkettige Schwefelsauremonoester, aliphatisch-aromatische
Sulfonsäuren, langkettige Alkoxyessigsäuren, an nichtionogenen
Polyglykoläther von Fettalkoholen oder Aethylenoxydkondensationsprodukte mit p-tert. Alkylphenolen. Andererseits können auch aus
Wirkstoff,' oder Dispergator und eventuell Lösungsmittel
bestehende Konzentrate hergestellt v/erden. Solche Konzentrate .lassen sich vor der Anwendung z.B. mit Wasser verdünnen.

Stäubemittel können zunächst durch Mischen oder gemeinsames Vermählen von Wirksubstanz mit einem festen Trägerstoff
hergestellt v/erden. Als solche kommen z.B. in Frage: Talkum, Eiatomeenerde, Kaolin, Bentonit, Calciumcarbonat, Borsäure,
Tricalciumphosphat, aber auch Holzmehl, Korkmehl, Kohle und andere Materialien pflanzlicher Herkunft. Andererseits können
die Substanzen auch mit einem flüchtigen Lösungsmittel auf die Trägerstoffe aufgezogen werden. Durch Zusatz von Netzmitteln
und Schutzkolloiden können pulverförmige Präparate und Pasten in Wasser suspendierbar und als Spritzmittel verwendbar gemacht
v/erden.
In vielen Fällen ist die Anwendung von Granulaten zur gleichmässigen Abgabe .von Wirkstoffen über einen längeren Zeitraum
von Vorteil. Diese lassen sich durch Lösen des Wirkstoffes in einem organischen Lösungsmittel, Absorption dieser Lösung
durch granuliertes Mineral, z.B. Attapulgit oder SiOp und Ent-
fernen des Lösungsmittels herstellen. Sie können auch,so hergestellt
v/erden, dass die Wirkstoffe der Formel I mit
polymerisierbaren Verbindungen vermischt v/erden, worauf eine
Polymerisation durchgeführt wird, von der die Aktivsubstanzen unberührt bleiben, und wobei noch während der Polymerisation
die Granulierung vorgenommen wird. Der Gehalt an Wirkstoff in den oben beschriebenen Mitteln liegt zwischen 0,1 bis 95 #*
dabei ist zu erwähnen, dass bei der Applikation aus dem Flugzeug oder mittels andern geeigneten Applikationsgeräten Konzentrationen
bis "zu 99,5 % oder sogar reiner Wirkstoff eingesetzt v/erden.

Formulierung
Gleiche Teile eines erfindungsgemassen Wirkstoffes
und gefällte Kieselsäure wuräen fein vermählen. Durch
Vermischen mit Kaolin oder Talkum konnten, daraus Stäubemittel
mit bevorzugt 1-6% Wirkstoffgehalt hergestellt werden.
Spritzpulver
Zur Herstellung eines Spritzpulvers wurden beispielsweise die folgenden Komponenten gemischt und fein vermählen:
50 Teile Wirkstoff gemäss vorliegender Erfindung 20 Teile Hoch adsorptive Kieselsäure
25 Teile Bolus alba (Kaolin)
1,5 Teile l-benzyl-2-stearyl-benzimidazol-6,3'-disulfon-
1,5 Teile l-benzyl-2-stearyl-benzimidazol-6,3'-disulfon-
saures Natrium.
3»5 Teile Reaktionsprodukt aus p-tert. Octylphenol und
3»5 Teile Reaktionsprodukt aus p-tert. Octylphenol und
Aethylenoxyd.
Emulsionskonzentrat
Emulsionskonzentrat
Gut lösliche Wirkstoffe kennten auch als Emulsionskonzentrat nach folgender Vorschrift formuliert werden:
20 Teile Wirkstoff
70 Teile Xylol
10 Teile einer Mischung aus einem Raktionsprodukt eines Alkylphenols mit Ae.thylenoxyd und Calcium-dodecylbenzolsulfonat
70 Teile Xylol
10 Teile einer Mischung aus einem Raktionsprodukt eines Alkylphenols mit Ae.thylenoxyd und Calcium-dodecylbenzolsulfonat
werden gemischt. Beim .Verdünnen mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration entstand eine spritzfähige
Emulsion.
Granulate"
7,5 g eines der Wirkstoffe der Formel I
wurden in 100 ml Aceton gelöst und die so erhaltene acetonische Lösung auf 92 g granuliertes Attapulgit gegeben.
Das Ganze wurde gut vermischt und das Lösungsmittel im Rotationsverdampfer abgezogen. Man erhielt ein Granulat
mit 7,5 % Wirkstoffgehalt.
Im Gewächshaus wurden folgende Pflanzenarten angesät: Triticum vulgäre, Hordeum, Avena, Zea mays, Oryza,
Gossypium, Soja, Digitaria, Panicum, Alopecurus, Poa,
Beta, Galium, Amaranthus, Sinäpis, Chrysanthemum, Calendula, Stellaria, Brassica und Ipomoea.

Die Postemergent-Behandlung der genannten Pflanzenarten erfolgte mit einer 1 #igen wässrigen Lösung
der Wirkstoffe ca 10 - 12 Tage nach der Aussaat, im 2 - 3
Blattstadium, in einer Aufwandmenge von 1 kg Aktivsubstanz pro"Hektar. Die Auswertung erfolgte ca 20 Tage nach der
Behandlung und führte zu dem in der folgenden Tabelle dar- · gestellten Ergebnis.
