Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Harnstoffen der Formel

worin R für Wasserstoff, C1-CjI Alkyl, C3-Cj+ AlkenyL' C2~C4
Alkinyl und X Wasserstoff oder Chlor bedeuten, zur Bekämpfung
von Unkräutern in Getreide, Reis, Mais, Baumwolle und Soja.
Die für .R in Frage kommenden C-Ck Alkyl, Cp-Cj Alkenyl
und C^-Ck Alkinylgruppen können verzweigt oder geradkettig, substituiert
oder unsubütituiert sein. Als Substituenten an diesen
Gruppen kommen beispielsweise Halogenatome in Betracht. Urter
Halogenatorne sind dabei Fluor-, Chlor-, Brom- und Jodatome zu verstehen- Beispiele solcher C, -C^ Alkyl-, C-Cj Alkenyl- und
Cp-Cj, Alkinylgruppen sind: Methyl, Aethyl, n-Propyl, Isoprcpyl,
n-, i-, sek.-, tert.- Butyl, Allyl, Chloraliyl, Propargyl oder i-Butinyl.
Von besonderer Bedeutung sind Verbindungen der Formel
R1 BH -CO-F^ (II)
worin R1 Wasserstoff, C1 —Cn Alkyl oder iso-Butinyl bedeutet und
X die für die Formel I angegebene Bedeutung hat.
Die Herstellung der Harnstoffe der Formel (i) erfolgt
nach an sich bekannten Methoden, z.B. durch Reaktion eines entsprechenden Phenylisocyanates mit einem Ν,Ν-Methylalkylamin.

Die selektive herbizide Wirkung läßt sich sowohl im Vorauf lauf- und im liachauflaufverfahren erzielen imd wird vornehmlich
in Getreide wie z.B. Weizen, Roggen, Hafer, Gerste sowie in Reio, Mais, Soja und Baumwolle beobachtet. Dabei können
dio Aufwand mangen, in weiten Grenzen schwanken z.B. z-vn.t;chen ö,1
bis 10 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektare, vorzugsweise aber 0,5 bis 5 kg
pro Hektare.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe der Formel I küiinon auch zur Beeinflussung des PfJ.anzenwachsturns, z.B. z\iv
Reifebesclileunigung bei Pfjanzon durch vorzeitiges Austrocknen,
ferner auch zur Vermehrung des Fruchtansatzes, Verzögerung
der Blüte, zur Verlängerung der Lagerbestandigkeit von Ernteprodukten
oder auch zum Frostfestrichen eingesetzt werden.
Auch kann die Anwendung dieser Wirkstoffe als Wachstunshemmeinicht
nur durch die Unterdrückung des Unkrautes zu einer Ertragssteigerung führen, sondern auch dadurch, daß diese
Wirkstoffe Einflüssen entgegenwirken % welche das Wachstum
der Kulturpflanzen in unerwünschter Richtung stimulieren, \
wie z.B. hohe Temperatur oder reichliche Düngung. Andererseits können die Wirkstoffe der Formel I als Herbizide bei der
Ausrottung zählebiger Unkräuter auf lange Sicht von Interesse sein, wenn die Selektivität der Wirkstoffe nicht genügt, um
eine Ertragsminderung der im Zeitpunkt der Anwendung angebauten
Pflanzen auszuschließen ο

Die Wirkstoffe der Formel I können allein oder zusammen
mit geeigneten Trägern und/oder anderen Zuschlagstoffen
eingesetzt werden. Geeignete Träger und Zuschlägst offe
können fest oder flüssig sein und entsprechen den in der Formulierungstechnik üblichen Stoffen, wie z.B. natürlichen
oder regenerierten mineralischen Stoffen, Lösungs-, Verdünnungs--Dispergier-,
Netz-, Haft-, Verdickungs-, Bindeoder Düngemitteln. Ferner können noch weitere biozide Verbindungen
zugesetzt werden. Solche biozid? Verbindungen können
z.B. der Klasse der Harnstoffe, der gesättigten oder ungesättigten
Halogen fett säuren, Ilaiogenbenzonitrile , Halogenbenzoesäuren,
Phenoxyalkylcarbonsäuren, Carbamate, Triazine f
Nitroalkylphenole, org. Phosphorsäureverbindungen, quaternären
Ammoniumsalze, Sulfaminsäuren, Arsenate, Arsenite, Borate oder
Chlorate angehören. Bei der Herstellung von herbizid wirksamen
Mitteln kommen z.B. die folgenden Komponenten zur Kombination in Frage:

Solche Mittel können in Form von Lösung^i, rmulni-n.-.;',3
Suspensionen, Granulaten oder S t Mu b ermitteln zur Ariwe-:Kn:üg
gelangen. Die Anwendungsformen richten sich nach den Verwendungszwecken und müssen eine feine Verteilbarkeit der
Wirksub.stanz gewährleisten. Insbesondere bei der totalen
Vertilgung von Pflanzenwuchs, bei der vorzeitigen Austrocknung
sowie der Entblätterung kann die Wirkung durch die Verwendung von an sich phytotoxischen Trägerstoffen, wie z. E.
hochsiedenden Mineralölfraktionen oder Chlorkohlenwasserstoffe^ verstärkt werden; andererseits konunt die Selektivität
der Wachstumshemrnung bei der Verwendung von gegenüber
Pflanzen indifferenten Trägerstoffen, z. B. in der selektiven Unkrautbekämpfung, im allgemeinen deutlich zur Geltung.

Zur Herstellung von Lösungen kommen Lösungsmittel
wie insbesondere Alkohole, z. B. Aethyl- oder Isopropylalkohol, Ketone, wie Aceton oder Cyclohexanon, aliphatioche
Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Kerosen und cyclische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Tetrahydronaphthalin, alkylierte
Naphthaline, ferner chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe,
wie Tetrachloräthan, Aethylenchlorid, und endlich auch mineralische
und pflanzliche OeIe oder Gemische der obengenannten
Stoffe in Präge.
Bei den wässrigen Zubereitungen handelt es sich um Dispersionen im allgemeinen und um Emulsionen im besonderen.
Die Wirkstoffe werden als solche oder in einem der obengenannten Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise mittels Nets- oder Dispergiermitteln,
in Wasser homogenisiert. An kationaktiven Dispergiermitteln seien als Beispiele quaternär
e Ammoniumverbindungen genannt; an anionaktiven z.B. Seifen,
aliphatische langkettige Schwefelsäuremonoester, aliphatischaromatische
Sulfonsäuren, langkettige Alkoxyessigsäuren; an nichtionogenen Polyglykoläther von Fettalkoholen oder p-tert.
Alkylphenolen mit Aethylenoxyd. Andererseits können auch aus Wirkstoff, Dispergator und eventuell Lösungsmittel bestehende
Konzentrate hergestellt werden. Solche Konzentrate lassen sich vor der Anwendung z. B. mit Wasser verdünnen und liegen dann
als Emulsionen oder Suspensionen vor.

Stäubemittel können durch Mischen oder gemeinsames Vermählen von V/irksubstanz mit einem festen Trägerstoff
hergestellt werden. Als solche kommen z. B. in Frage: Talkum,
Diatomeenerde, Kaolin, Bentonit, Calciumcarbonat, Borsäure,
Tricalciumphosphat, aber auch Holzmehl, Korkmehl, Kohle und
andere Materialien pflanzlicher Herkunft. Die Wirkstoffe, die Substanzen auch mit einem flüchtigen Lösungsmittel auf die
Trägerstoffe aufgezogen werden. Durch Zusatz von Netzmitteln
und Schutzkolloiden können pulverför/uige Präparate und Pasten"
in V/asser suspendierbar und als Spritzmittel verwendbar gemacht werden.
In vielen Fällen ist die Anwendung von Granulaten zur gleichmäßigen Abgabe von Wirkstoffen über einen längeren Zeitraum
von Vorteil. Diese lassen sich durch Lösen des Wirkstoffes in einem organischen Lösungsmittel, Absorption dieser Lösung
durch granuliertes Mineral, z. B. Attapulgit oder SiO2 und Entfernen
des Lösungsmittels herstellen. Sie können auch so hergestellt werden, daß die Wirkstoffe der Formel I mit
polymerisierbaren Verbindungen vermischt werden, worauf eine Polymerisation durchgeführt wird, von der die Aktivsubstanzen
unberührt bleiben, und wobei noch während der Polymerisation die Granulierung vorgenommen wird. Der Gehalt an Wirkstoff in
den oben beschriebenen Mitteln liegt zwischen 0,1 bis 95 ?ί,
dabei ist zu erwähnen, daß bei der Applikation aus dem Flugzeug oder mittels anderer geeigneter Applikationsgeräte Konzentrationen
bis zu 99t5 "A oder sogar reiner Wirkstoff eingesetzt
werden.

K-ii-Isopropyl-^-chlor-phenyl-N 1,N'-diniethy !harnstoff
A. Eine Lösung von 93 S. ^-Isopropyl-^-chloranilin in 100 ml Essigsäureäthylester
wurpe bei -10^ bis -5*0 zu einer Lösung von
200 g Phosgen in 1 It. Essigsäureäthylester getropft. Man entfernte"'' das Kühlbad undlies-s't 20 Stunden bei Raumtemperattir
nachreagieren, ehe die Reaktionslösung fraktioniert wurde" a
Κε,η erhielt 97 g ^-Isopropyl-J-chlor-phenylisocyanat vom
Siedepunkt 120-123° C/ 15 mn Hg.
B. Ί5 g ^-IsopropylO'Chlor-phenylisocyanat wurden zu einer Lösung
von 200 ml Dioxan und 100 ml kO ^iger, wässriger Dimethylamine :
lösung getropft. Durch Zugabe von ca. 1 It. Eiswasser w\c?de
das Produkt ausgefällt und aus Alkohol umkristallisiert. Man erhielt 49 g N-4-Isopropyl-3-chlorphenyl-N',N1-dimethylharnstoff
vom Schmelzpunkt 153-1540G. . (Wirkstoff Nr. 1) j

Gleiche Teile eines Wirkstoffes der Formel I
und gefällte Kieselsäure wurden fein vermählen. Durch Vermischen
mit Kaolin oder Talkum könnten daraus Stäubemittel mit bevorzugt \~6fo Wirkstoff gehalt hergestellt werden.
Zur Herstellung eines Spritzpulvers wurden beispielsweise
die folgenden Komponenten gemischt und fein vermählen:

50 Teile Wirkstoff gemäß vorliegender Erfindung 20 Teile Hoch adsorptive Kieselsäure
25 Teile Bolus alba (Kaolin) 1,5 Teile l--benzyl-2-stearyl-benzimidazol-6,3'-disulfonsaui-es
Fa tr ium.
3,5 Teile Reaktionsprodukt aus p-tert. Octylphenol und
Aethylenoxyd.
Gut lösliche Wirkstoffe wurden auch als Emulsionskonzentrat nach folgender Vorschrift formuliert:
20 Teile Wirkstoff 70 Teile Xylol 10 Teile einer Mischung aus einem Reaktionsprodukt eines
Alkylphenols mit Aethylenoxyd und CaIcium-dodecyl-"benzolsulfonat
wurden gemischt. Beim Verdünnen mit V/asser auf die gewünschte Konzentration entstand eine spritzfähige Emulsion.
Granulate
7,5 g eines der Wirkstoffe der Formel I wurden in 100 ml Aceton gelöst und die so erhaltene acetonische Lösung auf 92 g
granuliertes Attapulgit gegeben. Das Ganze wurde gut vermischt und das lösungsmittel im Rotationsverdampfer abgezogen. Man
erhielt ein Granulat mit 7,5 5» Wirkstoff gehalt.

Herbizide Wirkung
a) Im Gewächshaus wurden folgende Pflanzenarten angesät: Triticum wulgare, Hordeum, Zea Mays, Reis, Gossypium, Soja, Digitaria,
Panicum, Poa, Glopecurus, Calendula, Chrysanthemum, Ipomoea und ■
Die Postemergenfc-Behandlung der genannten Pflanzenarten
erfolgte mit einer l$igen wässrigen Lösung der Wirkstoffe 1 und 2 ca. 10-12 Tage nach der Aussaat im 2-3 Blattstadium,
in einer Aufwandmenge von 0,250 kg pro Hektar.
Die Auswertung erfolgte ca» 20 Tage nach der Behandlung und führten zu dem in der folgenden Tabelle dargestellten
Ergebnis. Die Preemergent-Behandlung erfolgte mit einer Aufwandmenge von 1 kg pro Hektar aber bereits 24 Stunden nach ™
der Aussaat.
