oder für einen Benzyl-, p-Chlorbenzyl- oder Furylrest steht, sowie deren Hydrazone
mit einem Alkylidenrest mit bis zu 6 Kohlenstoffatomen.
Die Erfindung betrifft 6-substituierte 3-Methylthio-4-amino-L2.4-triazin-5-one
und deren Hydrazone, welche nach an sich bekannten Verfahren hergestellt
und als Herbizide verwendet werden können.
Es ist bereits bekanntgeworden, daß man 1.3.5-Triazine
zur Bekämpfung von Unkraut verwenden kann. Aus dieser Wirkstoffgruppe haben 2-Chlor-4.6-bisäthylamino-1.3,5-triazin
(Simazin)(vgl. BE-PS 540590) und 2-Methylthio-4-äthylarnino-6-tert.-butylamino-1,3,5-triazin
(Terbutryn) (vgl. FR-PS 13 39 337) eine erhebliche praktische Bedeutung erlangt. Es ist ferner
bekannt, daß bestimmte 3-Cyano-l,2,4-triazinderivate, z. B. 3-Cyano-5,6-dimethyl-l,2,4-triazin und 3-Cyano-5,6-diphenyl-l,2,4-triazin,
als Herbizide verwendet werden können (vgl. DT-AS 11 74 788).
Es wurde gefunden, daß die 6-substituierten 3-Methyltnio-4-amino-1.2,4-triazin-5-one
der allgemeinen Formel

in welcher R für einen Alkylrest mit 2 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen
oder für einen Benzyl-, p-Chlorbenzyl- oder Furylrest steht, sowie deren Hydrazone mit
einem Alkylidenrest mit bis zu 6 Kohlenstoffatomen starke herbizide Eigenschaften aufweisen.
überraschenderweise zeigen die erfindungsgemäßen
Wirkstoffe nicht nur bei pre-emergence-Anwendung eine stärkere herbizide Wirksamkeit als die bekannten
Triazine, sondern weisen auch bei der Verwendung nach dem post-emergence-Verfahren eine gute herbizide
Wirksamkeit auf. Abgesehen davon zeigen die Triazinone auch noch selektive herbizide Eigenschaften
(vgl. die Beispiele A und B).
Die erfindungsgemäßen 6-substituierten 3-Methylthio-4-amino-l,2,4-triazin-5-one
der Formel I und deren Hydrazone können nach verschiedenen üblichen,
an sich bekannten Verfahren hergestellt werden (vgl. Chemische Berichte 97, 2173-2178 "[1964]). Nachfolgend
werden einige nähere Angaben über die Her-
stellung verschiedener 6-substiiuierter ?-Methylthio-4-amino-l,2,4-triazin-5-one
bzw. deren Hydrazone sowie der entsprechenden, als Zwischenprodukte benötigten
3-Mercapto-4-amino-l,2.4-iriazin-5-one gemacht.
Sie stehen in Übereinstimmung mit den aus der Literatur bekannten Verfahren.
1. Herstellung von 3-Mercapto-4-amino-l,2,4-triazin-
5-onen mit verschiedenen Substituenten in
6-Stellung
14 n Thiocarbohydrazid werden mit 100 ml Wasser auf 90 bis 100 C erhitzt. Unter Rühren wird eine Lösune
von 14 g Furoylameisensäure in 50 ml Wasser eingetropft. Nach 3 Stunden wird kalt abgesaugt.
Man erhält das 3-Mercapto-4-amino-6-furyl-l 2,4-triazin-5-on,
Fp. 244" C.

2. Herstellung von 3-MethyIthio-4-am;nol,2,4-triazin-5-onen
mit verschiedenen
Substituenten in 6-Stellung(I)
63 g 3 - Mercapto - 4 - amino - 6 - benzyl -1,2,4 - triazin-5-on
werden in 900 ml Wasser unter Zusatz von 13 g Natriumhydroxid gelöst und bei 15° C mit 21,2 ml
Methyljodid versetzt. Nach 5stündigem Nachrühren wird das kristallin ausgefallene Reaktionsprodukt
abgesaugt, mit Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet. Man erhält 60 g S-Methylthio^-amino-o-benzyll,2,4-triazin-5-on,
Fp. 163° C. In analoger Weise erhält man:

3. Herstellung von Hydrdzonen der 6-substituierten
3-Methy!thio-4-amino-l,2,4-triazin-5-one(i)
21,4g 3-Methylthiu-4amino-6-isobutyl-l,2,4-tri-αζιη-5-οη
werden in 50 ml Isopropylalkohol gelöst
und bei 20 C mit 10,8g lsobutyraldehyd und0,2g
p-Toluolsulfonsäure versetzt. Nach Abklingen der
schwach exothermen Reaktion rührt man in 50 ml Eiswasser ein, saugt das kristalline Reaktionsprodukt
ab und erhält nach dem Trocknen 25 g 3-Methylihio-4 - isobutylidenamino - 6-isobutyl -1,2.4 - triazin - 5-on.
Fp. 50 C (aus Petroläther).
In analoger Weise erhält man:

Die erfindungsgemäßen Triazinone beeinflussen das Pflanzenwachstum und können deshalb als Defoliants,
Desiccants, Krautabtötungsmittel und insbesondere als Unkrautvernichtungsmittel verwendet werden.
Unter Defoliants, Desiccants und Krautabtötungsmittel werden die üblichen Erntehilfsmittel verstanden,
welche man zum Entblättern und zur Austrocknung der grünen Pflanzenteile vor Einbringung der Ernte
verwendet.
Unter Unkraut im weitesten Sinne sind alle Pflanzen zu verstehen, die an Orten aufwachsen, wo sie unerwünscht
sind.
Die Triazinone können als Totalherbizide zur Vernichtung von Unkraut verwendet werden, gleichfalls
aber auch als selektive Herbizide zur Vernichtung von Unkraut in landwirtschaftlichen Kulturen. Ob die Triazinone
als Totalherbizide oder als selektive Herbizide wirken, hängt im wesentlichen von der verwendeten
Wirkstoffkonzentration ab.
Als landwirtschaftliche Kulturen, in denen Triazinone verwendet werden können, seien im einzelnen
genannt: Getreide, also z. B. Hafer, Gerste, Reis, Mais und insbesondere Weizen, Baumwolle, sowie auch
Kartoffeln.
Als Unkräuter, die vernichtet werden können, seien beispielsweise genannt: Dikotyle, wie Senf (Sinapis),
Kresse (Lepidium), Klettenlabkraut (Galium), Vogelmiere (Stellaria), Kamille (Matricaria), Franzosenkraut
(Galinsoga), Gänsefuß (Chenopodium), Brennnessel (Urtica), Kreuzkraut (Senecio); Monokotyle,
wie Lieschgras (Phleum), Rispengras (Poa), Schwingel (Festuca), Eleusine (Eleusine), Fennich (Setaria),Raygras
(Lolium), Trespe (Bromus), Hiihnerhirse (Echinochloa).
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in die üblichen Formulierungen übergeführt werden, wie
Lösungen, Emulsionen, Suspensionen. Pulver, Pasten und Granulate. Diese werden in bekannter Weise her
gestellt, z. B. durch Vermischen der Wirkstoffe mi Streckmiiteln, also flüssigen Lösungsmitteln, und
oder festen Trägerstoffen, gegebenenfalls unter Ver wendung von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln, also Emul
giermitteln und oder Dispergiermitteln. Im Falle dei
Benuizung von Wasser als Streckmittel können ζ. Β
auch organische Lösungsmittel als Hilfslösungsmitte verwendet werden. Als flüssige Lösungsmittel kommer
ίο im wesentlichen in Frage: Aromaten, wie Xylol unc
Benzol, chlorierte Aromaten, wie Chlorbenzole, Paraf fine, wie Erdölfraktionen, Alkohole, wie Methano
und Butanol, stark polare Lösungsmittel, wie Dirne thylformamid und Dimethylsulfoxyd, sowie Wasser
als feste Trägerstoffe: natürliche Gesteinsmehle, wie Kaoline, Tonerden, Talkum und Kreide, und synthe
tische Gesteinsmehle, wie hochdisperse Kieselsäure und Silikate; als Emulgiermittel: nichtionogene unc
anionische Emulgatoren, wie Polyoxyäthylen-Fetisiiure-Ester,
Polyoxyäthylen-Fettalkohol-Äther, ζ. Β
Alkylaryl-polyglykol-äther, Alkylsulfonate und Arylsulfonate;
als Dispergiermittel: z.B. Lignin-Sulfitablaugen und Methylcellulose.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in den Formulierungen in Mischung mit anderen bekannten
Wirkstoffen vorliegen.
Die Formulierungen enthalten im allgemeinen zwischen 0,1 und 95 Gewichtsprozent Wirkstoff, vorzugsweise
ZA'isciien 0,5 und 90Gewichtsprozent.
Die Triazinone können als solche, in Form ihrer Formulierungen oder der daraus bereiteten Anwendungsformen,
wie gebrauchsfertige Lösungen, Emulsionen, Suspensionen, Pulver, Pasten und Granulate,
angewendet werden. Die Anwendung geschieht in üblicher Weise, z. B. durch Versprühen, Verspritzen,
Gießen, Verstreuen und Verstäuben.
Die Menge der Wirkstoffe pro Flächeneinheit bzw. die Konzentration der Wirkstoffe kann je nach gewünschtem
Effekt in größeren Bereichen schwanken.
Beim post-emergence-Verfahren werden im allgemeinen Wirkstoffkonzentrationen zwischen 0,1 und
0,001 Gewichtsprozent verwendet, vorzugsweise zwischen 0,5 und 0,005.
Beim pre-emergence-Verfahren werden im allgemeinen 0,5 bis 10 kg Wirkstoff pro Hektar eingesetzt,
vorzugsweise 1 bis 5.

Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäßigen Wirkstoffzubereitung vermischt man 1 Gewichtsteil Wirkstofl
mit der angegebenen Menge Lösungsmittel, gibt die angegebene Menge Emulgator zu und verdünnt das
Konzentrat mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration.
Samen der Testpflanzen werden in normalen Boden ausgesät und nach 24 Stunden mit der Wirkstoffzubereitung
begossen. Dabei hält man die Wassermenge pro Flächeneinheit zweckmäßigerweise konstant.
Die Wirkstoffkonzentration in der Zubereitung spielt keine Rolle, entscheidend ist nur die Aufwandmenge
des Wirkstoffes pro Flächeneinheit. Nach
3 Wochen wird der Schädigungsgrad der Testpflanzen bestimmt und mit den Kennziffern 0 bis 5 bezeichnet,
welche die folgende Bedeutung haben:
0 = Keine Wirkung.
1 = Leichte Schäden oder Wachstumsverzögerung.
2 = Deutliche Schäden oder Wachstumshem-
muns.
Schwere Schäden und nur mangelnde Entwicklung
oder r;ur 50% aufgelaufen. Pflanzen nach der Keimung teilweise vernichtet
oder nur 25% aufgelaufen. Pflanzen vollständig abgestorben oder nicht aufgelaufen.

Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäßigen Wirkstofftubereitung
vermischt man 1 Gewichtsteil Wirkstoff tnit der angegebenen Menge Lösungsmittel, gibt die
angegebene Menge Emulgator zu und verdünnt das Konzentrat anschließend mit Wasser auf die gewünschte
Konzentration.
Mit der Wirkstofrzubereitung spritzt man Testpflanzen,
welche eine Höhe von etwa 5 bis 15 cm haben, gerade taufeucht. Nach 3 Wochen wird dei
Schädigungsgrad der Pflanzen bestimmt und mi' den Kennziffern 0 bis 5 bezeichnet, welche die fol
gende Bedeutung haben:
0 = Keine Wirkung.
1 = Einzelne leichte Verbrennungsflecken.
2 = Deutliche Blattschäden.
3 = Einzelne Blätter und Stengelteile zum
Teil abgestorben.
4 = Pflanze teilweise vernichtet. 5 = Pflanze total abgestorben.
