Description
- Verfahren zur herstellung von Polyesterharzon (1. Zusatz au Patent...........Anmeldung C 25 265 IVd/390) Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Polyester. harzen, bei des man hochmolekulare Terephthalsäurediolester entweder a) in gesättigten oder ungesättigten, vorzugsweise olefiniach ungesättigten, Dicarbonsäuren oder deren Anhydriden oder deren oligomeren oder deren Mono-oder Diestern löst und dann sit b) mohrwertigen, insbesondere zweiwertigen Alkoholen, vorsugsweise solchen mit Siedepunkten von mehr als 200°C, vorestert oder mit den unter a) definierten Alkoholen umestert und dann mit den gleichfalls unter a) definierten Dicarbonsäuren oder deren Derivaten weiter verestert.
- Es wurde nun in weiterer Ausbildung des Verfahrens des Hauptpatentes gofunden da# man die hoohmolekularen Terephthalsäurediolester mit gutem Erfolg auch in Gemischen aus den oben angegebenen Komponenten a) und zweiwertigen Alkoholen lösen und damit umestern kann, wodurch sich du Verfahren des Hauptpatentes erheblich vereinfacht.
- Die hocholekularen Terephthalsäurediolester lösen sich ziemlich schnell in den Gemischen aus den zweiwertigen Alkoholen und dan Dioarbonsäuron oder deren Derivaten bei denselben Temperaturen auf wie in den einzelnen Komponenten, nämlich bei Temperaturen oberhalb 180°C und unterhalb des Zersetzungspunktes, vorzugsweise zwischen 200°C und 270°C. Die Eigenschaften der erhaltenen Polyesterharze hängen weitgehend rom Verhältnis von Terephthalsäurediolester zu den anderen Reaktionskompon@nten, wie der Diocarbonsäure, des mohrwertigen Alkohol oder des Ester aus mehrwertigem Alkohol und der Dicarbonsäure, sowie von der verwendeten Dicarbonsäure bzw. dem mehrwertigen Alkohol und des Umsetsungsgrad ab. Im allgemeinen kondensiert man, bis eine Säurezahl von 70 unterschritten ist; vorzugaweise hat das Produkt eine Säure. sahl zwischen 20 und 60. Es kaan aber auch eine sehr niedrige Säuresahl, z.B. von 5, haben.
- Die Umsetzung kann natürlich ebens. wie bei des Verfahren nach des Hauptpatent auch in autcklaven odJr ähnlichen geeigneten Apparaten unter Druck ausgeführt worden. Wenn san die Rndprodukte in Form lösungamittelhaltiger Harze weiterverwenden will, kann man die Reaktion selbst auch schon in Gegenwart von Lösungsmitteln oder VErdünnungsmitteln durchführen. Als solche seien z.B. hochsiedende aliphatische, aromatische oder Terpenkohlenwasserstoffe genannt. Im Falle der Verwendung von Terpenkohlenwasserstoffen kann auch eine Reaktion eintroten, wenn ungesättigte Dioarbonsäuren oder funktionelle Derivate davon verwendet werden. Lösungsmittel oder Verdünnungsmittel können Jedoch auch dann verwendet werden, wenn die fertigen Harze nicht in Gemisch mit Löaungsmitteln angewendet werden sollen.
- Die Harze können auch durch eine geringere Menge von Harzsäuren oder langkettigen Fettsäuren mit z.B. 12 bis 22 C-Atomon modifiziert worden. Diese Säuren können in einer Menge bis zu 50 Aequivalent-%, bezogen auf die zueätzlioh zur Terephthalsäure vorhandene Dioarbonsäure oder ihre funktionellen Derivate, und im allgemeinen in einer Menge von 1 bis 20 Aequivalent-% verwendet werden. Obgleich diese Säuren auch schon von vornherein zugegen sein können, werden sie vorteilhaft erat gegen Ende der Reaktion zugesetzt.
- Als Dicarbonsäuren kommen die im Hauptpatent genannten bzw. deren Derivate in Frage, außerdem z.B. 3,4,5,6-Tetrahydrophthalsäure oder Endomethylontetrahydrophthalsäure. Die oligomeren oder Mono- oder Diester der Dioarbonsäuren können z.B. die Formeln R'OOC-R-COOR', R'OOC - R - COOH oder HOOC - R - COO-R' - OOC - R - COOH oder HOOC-R-COO-R'-OOC-R-COOR' oder eine homologe Struktur haben. In diesen Formeln bedeutet R den Rest, der die beiden Carbonsäuregruppen verbindet, R' den Rest eines mehrwertigen Alkohols oder eines einwertigen Alkohole mit vorzugsweise nicht mehr als 7 C-Atomen. Die einwertigen Reste können z.B. der Mothyl-, Aethyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Allyl-, (primär-, sekundär-, tertiär- oder iso-)Butyl-, Amyl-, Hexyl-, octyl- oder Benzylrest soin Als mehrwertiger Rest kann R' darin der ein- oder mehrfach veresterte Rest der im Hauptpatent genannten, mehrwertigen, insbesondere zweiwertigen Alkohole sein.als zweiwertige Alkohole können auch partiell verätherte mindestens dreiwertige Alkohole vorliegen.
- Au#er partiell verätherten mindostona dreiwertigen Alkoholen können auch die entsprechenden partiell acetalisierten mindestens dreiwertigen Alkohole verwendet werden. Dai@ können die aoetal- oder ätherartig gebundenen Reste z.B. gesättigte oder olefinisch ungesättigte Reste sein, in denen der Aether-oder Acetalsauerstoff an ein aliphatisches C-Atos gebunden ist, und die bis zu 10, vorzugsweise 3 bis 7 C-Atoms enthalten. Geeignete Reste sind z.B. die oben für R' genannten einwertigen Roste.
- Setzt man zusammen mit den zweiwertigen Alkoholen noch höherwertigere Alkohole ein, so sollte der Anteil der "überschüssigen" Hydroxylgruppen (das ist die Zahl der um zwei verminderten freien Hydroxylgruppen des mindestens dreiwertigen Alkoholes) nicht höher sein als 10 Aequivalent-%, vorzugsweise nicb@ höher als 7 Aequivalent-%. Solche mindestens dreiwertigen Alkohole können auch zusammen mit solchen Mengen einwertiger Alkohole oder Monocarbonsäuren verwendet werden, die den "überschüssigen" Hydroxylgruppen (im Sinne der vorherigen'Definition) etwa äquivalent sind.
- Die funktionellen Säuren können auch zusammen mit höherbasischen Carbonsäuren wie Py" omellitsäure verwendet werden. Diese Carbonsäuren werden im allgemeinen in einer solchen Menge verwendet, daß die überschüssigen Carboxylgruppen (dae ist die Zahl der um zwei verminderten freien Carboxylgruppen der dreibasischen Säure) nicht höher ist als 20 Aequivalent-% und vorzugsweise nicht höher als 10 Aequivalent-%. Solche dreibasischen Carbonsäuren können auch zusammen mit annähernd äquivalenten Mengen (im Sinne der vorherigen Definition, von Monocarbonsäuren, vorzugsweise Benzoesäure oder Fettsäuren mit mindestens 12 C-Atomen, oder mit einwertigen Alkoholen verwendet werden.
- Die erfindungsgemä# erhältlichen Polyesterhapse haben wie die des Hauptpatentes eine gute Biegefestigkeit. Sie sind nicht nur wertvolle lackrohstoffe, sondern eignen sich auch zur Herstellung von Ueberzügen auf Metallen. Sie können aber auch, soweit sie noch olefinisch ungesättigte Gruppen enthalten, in an sich bekannter Weise, zOB bei Temperaturen von O bis 150°C, mit copolymerisierbaren Monomeren su Kunetharzen bzw. Kunststoffen mit guten mechanischen Eigenschaften verarbeitet werden1 und können mit besonders gutem Erfolg zur Herstellung von glasfaserverstärkten Produkt ten verwendet werden. Derartige Produkte lusen eich gut aus den Formen lösen.
- Für diese Copolymerisation sind beispielsweise die im Hauptpatent genannten Monomeren, ferner auch Triallylcyanurat, Cotyl- oder Allylacrylat oder -methacrylat, ie dio Wort angegebenen Menganverhältnisse, Katalysatoren und Beachleuniger geeignet, in allen Fällen können nattirlioh statt einheithoher Stoffe auch Genische mehrerer Storr. verwendet werden, also mehrere Säuren, Alkohole, Ester, Monomere usw.
- Beispiel 98 g Haleinsaureanhydrid werden mit 85 g 1,2-Propandiol und 200 g hochmolekularem Terephthalsäureäthylenglykolester unter Rühren und Schutzgas langsam auf 2300C erhitzt und verestert, bis die Säurezahl unter 30 und die Viskosität einer 50%igen Lösung in Aethylenglykolmonoäthyläther bei 20°C etwa 150op beträgt. Nach kurzem Evakuieren zur Abtrennung flüchtiger Bestandteile wird mit 0,04 g Hydrochinon stabilisiert.
- Wenn man jeweils 350 g des 80 erhaltenen ungesüttigten Polyesters in 150 g Styrol löst und die Copolymerisation in der üblichen Weise durchführt (ür die Haltung in der Wärme mit 1 bis 3% Benzoylperoxydpaste, 50%ig in Dimethylphthalat, für die Härtung in der Kälte mit 2 bis 5X Cyolohexanonperoxydpaste, 50%ig in Dibutylphthalat, und mit 0,5 bis 2% einer 10%igen Lösung von Kobaltnaphtenat in Styrol), kann mtn - gegebenenfalls glasfaserverstärkte-Formkörper erhalten, die eine gute Biegefestigkeit, eine gute Formbeständigkeit in der Wärme und eine hohe Schlagzähigkeit aufweisen.

- Par@@kanapruch Weitere Ausbildung des Verfahrens zur herstellung von Polyesterhauzon, wobei sohwerlösliche hochmolekulare Terephthalsäurediolester, gegebenenfalls unter Druck, in entweder a) gesättigten oder' ungesätigten, vorzugsweise olefinisch ungesättigtem Dicarbonsäuren oder deren Anhydriden oder deren oligomeren oder deren Mono- oder Disstern gelöst und anschlie#end itt mehrwertigen, insbesondere zweiwertigen Alkoholen, vorzugsweise solchen mit Siedepunkten von mehr als 200°C verestert oder in b) den unter a) definierten Alkoholen gelbat und dann mit den unter a) definierten Dicarbonsäuren oder deren Derivaten weiter verestert vorden und wobei äthylenisch ungesättigte Gruppen enthaltende Resktionsprodukte gegebenenfalls mit polymerieierbaren Monomeren miechpolymeriaiert werden, nach Patent..........(Anmeldung C 25 265 IVd/390), dadurch gekennzeichnet, da# die schwerlöslichen hochmolekularen Terephthalsäurediolester von vornherein in einem Gemisch der unter a) genannten Dicarbonsäuren bzw. deren Derivaten mit den gleichfalls unter a) genannten zweiwertigen Alkoholen gelöst und ungeestert werden.
