Abstract

发明领域
本发明涉及到LED照明的领域,特别是涉及到用调光(dimming)开关来使得低电流LED灯工作的电路。

发明背景
本发明涉及使得在LED灯中使用的AC到DC转换器兼容广泛用于白炽壁调光应用的相位控制调光器。调光器的典型电路如图1所示。
如图1所示,调光器1电气串联连接在电力负载2和电源3之间。在该示例中,电源是AC家用电流,如同人们可以在通常的家用调光应用中见到的一样。在该示例中的负载2是白炽照明灯泡,但是本领域一般技术人员将会认识到可以使用其它负载。通过调节调光器1的导通角可以实现调光,从而加在负载2上的RMS电压随着导通角的调节而变化。在白炽灯泡作为负载2的情形中,当加在照明灯泡上的RMS电压改变时,照明灯泡的光强度将会改变。加在照明灯泡上的缩减RMS电压就会导致较暗的照明灯泡。
如图2所示,依照调光器的导通角调节调光器,可以创建加在负载上的不同波形。图2中示出的第一示例20示出不具有调光器的115伏特60赫兹的家庭AC电源的波形。图2中的第二21和第三22示例示出了当用相位控制调光器调节115伏特60赫兹家用AC电源线时所产生的输出波形。总的说来,调光器在过零(zerocrossing)之后在某一时段内对波形进行削波,这样就会导致在输出时出现缩减的RMS电压。本领域的一般技术人员可以认识到除了图2示出的情形之外,调光器还可在不同的时段内对波形进行削波不同的量。
虽然有大量的可以实现调光功能的电路技术,但是在通常的相位控制调光器内控制电源通-断的开关或电路元件通常是本领域一般技术人员所熟知为TRIAC的可控硅(thyristor)器件。TRIAC通常可从各种来源获得,并且具有熟知的特性。示例TRIAC是可从On Semiconductor获得的型号MAC12V、MAC12M和MAC12N,它们可以在主页
http://onsemi.com中找到。在此所讨论的TRIAC通常是可用的TRIAC的代表,但是绝非旨在限制在此所描述的本发明的范围。TRIAC通常具有第一主端MT1和第二主端MT2以及控制极端G。如本领域一般技术人员所知,TRIAC通常展示出如下的基本特性:
-主端双向导通,允许AC通过。
-当触发电流出现在控制极G和第二主端2 MT2之间时,TRIAC导通,并且在两主端之间出现导通。
-一旦被触发,TRIAC维持导通,直至AC功率线过零,在该点上器件关闭并且等待下一个触发脉冲或者AC功率线过零。该特性可以实现相位角控制。
TRIAC还有一个与LED照明直接相关的更重要参数,即保持电流(holdcurrent)。在触发之后,如果没有比流经主端的保持电流更大的电流,则TRIAC不会维持在导通的状态。如在LED照明的情形中,因为有维持住电流的需要,当低电流流经主端时,TRIAC难以维持导通状态。参照TRIAC MAC12D的数据表,保持电流通常是20毫安。
对于LED照明,特别是低瓦特LED照明,调光器导致问题的原因有很多种。下面将对其中一些原因进行陈述。
1.LED照明比白炽灯更有能量效率,因此需要一个小得多的电流。通常的白炽灯泡在导通期间轻易地就会耗用多于200mA的电流。该值将大大超过通常调光器的保持电流。因此,在对白炽灯泡进行调光的方面上通常是没有问题的。LED照明通常提取较小的电流,取决于其电路设计,通常会在10到150mA的范围内。
在一个较小的电流水平上,一旦调光器导通,负载电流不能满足设备的保持电流要求,即调光器中的TRIAC和调光器进入一个会导致LED灯闪烁的重新触发状态。通过与LED照明并行设置一哑负载、以提供超过调光器中TRIAC的保持电流的充足电流导入来解决上述问题。但是,这不是一个预期的选择。由于LED照明旨在有能量效率,在LED灯中放置哑负载将会导致一些问题,诸如能量效率降低,哑负载中的功率导入所致问题,以及LED照明内热量加剧,而对于功率电子器件内部的热控制来说,并不希望这种情况出现。
2.可调光LED照明需要运用AC到DC转换器。AC到DC转换器基本上是将AC输入电压转换成驱动LED发射极的低电压高电流的降压式(step-down)开关模式电源。图3示出一代表性电路。如在图1中示出的电路一样,它包括全部串联连接的电源3、调光器1和负载。在代表性电路中的负载是将AC转换成DC的LED照明电子器件6和LED 7。附图还示出了由配线的特性所致而存在的小量电感9。在转换器电子器件内部,当调光器导通时,将会出现导致负载电流减幅振荡的小量电容8。图4示出了调光器的输出电流波形10。并且当在调光器触发或启动时出现减幅振荡时,调光器输出波形11。如果减幅振荡足够大,大到导致电流流量下降到TRIAC的保持电流阈值12时,调光器导通将会停止,从而导致LED灯闪烁。
3.当调光器的电源向调光器供电时,它内部的控制电路需要一个小的偏置电流。这暗示着呈现于调光器的LED照明负载必需要提供这样一个最小电流。但是,在LED转换器内部的电子转换器通常具有极低的电流消耗。这样就防止调光器电路触发而再次导致减幅振荡。
4.LED转换器启动时需要一段时间,因此它的电流消耗需要一个确定的时段,以达到超过调光器保持电流的水平。需要在任何的电路中考虑到在提供足够的电流中的这种延迟。
考虑到这些缺点,期望能够包括与相位控制调光器和LED照明一同使用的动态负载,该动态负载在合适的时段内对调光器提供充分的负载,以提供充分的保持电流,并且防止电路中的减幅振荡。
发明内容
在此描述的发明是与相位控制调光器和LED照明一同使用的动态负载或缓冲电路。该动态负载对调光器电路提供充分的电流导入,并且提供依据调光器的电流导入需要而变化的电流导入。

具体实施例
如图5所示,本发明的动态哑负载电路30连接到电气地连接到调光器33的AC电源32,调光器33电气地连接到桥式整流器BR1。LED照明转换器35具有与桥式整流器BR1并行连接的LED36。动态哑负载40与LED灯转换器35并行放置。反馈通路45设置在LED灯转换器35和哑负载40之间,从而可以对哑负载进行调节,以在需要时提供一合适负载、在不需要时提供一缩减负载,藉此节省功率。照明转换器35包括调节从桥式整流器BR1中接收功率的电子器件,并且包括对动态哑负载40提供控制或反馈信号的电子器件。通过动态哑负载40而呈现于电源或桥式整流器BR1的负载基于控制信号而改变,因此改变由动态哑负载40所提取或流入其中的电流量。
图6示出表示相对时间,调光器40的电压输出50、通过哑负载的电流51、以及从LED照明电子器件35到哑负载40中的反馈或控制信号52的图。在本领域一般技术人员会认识到控制信号52可以是电压或电流信号。例如,参照图6所示的绘图,在操作之前哑负载对调光器电路提供足够的偏置电流55,如同在本发明的背景部分中描述的那样。因为当调光器关闭时,功率消耗为通过调光器电路中的电流低流量所限,因此在调光器导通之前哑负载不会具有很高的功率消耗。但是,如果哑负载40不存在,因为LED不会在偏置电流水平上导通,就不会出现导通。
当调光器触发57时,动态哑负载40提供附加的电流59消耗,当该电流消耗与LED转换器35的电流消耗结合时,将提供超过调光器33保持电流的、提取调光器33中的充分电流。通过动态哑负载40所提供的电流会保持在足够高的值,直到LED转换器35启动并且它的电流消耗超过了调光器的保持电流为止。这一点上,在时段60,一个反馈信号52通过反馈通道45被传送到动态哑负载40,藉此减少了动态哑负载40的电流导入60。典型的轮廓如图8所示。只要反馈信号52维持在充分电平62,哑负载40电流就可以维持在低电平63。最好是低于偏置电流电平55。当调光器33输出达到过零65时,控制信号52减少70,允许偏置电平电流55通过哑负载40。当调光器40再次触发时,重复该过程。
在一选择实施例中,如图5所示的电涌限制电路50可以串联包含在桥式整流器BR1和LED照明转换器35之间。该电涌限制电路50在调光器触发时限制电流峰,并导致减幅振荡电流幅值减少。这样就减少了对较高哑负载电流的需要。电涌限制电路的示例可以是恒定电流源。
又如图5所示,二极管D1连接在输入整流器电路的整流器DC输出和旁路电容器之间。该二极管防止电流从LED照明转换器35的旁路电容器C1反向。二极管防止电流从LED照明转换器35的旁路电容器C1反向进入桥式整流器,并且因此而显著地减少了减幅振荡幅值。较佳地,二极管D1属于在反向偏压时展示较低结电容(capacitant)的类型。藉此极大减少有电流反向趋势时LED照明转换器35中的等效电容。
图7示出利用本发明的动态哑负载的电路实施例的示意性图。在图中未示出调光器,但是本领域一般技术人员可以认识到调光器可以设置在端CN1和CN4之间。类似地,未示出LED,但是它可设置在端CN2和CN3之间。
参照图7,动态哑负载是包括MOSFET Q6和晶体管Q5的电流源。来自于LED转换器的辅助电源的动态哑负载电流调制从二极管D12和D9的连接处引入。由电阻器R13和电容器C12的时间常量产生一短暂的时间延迟。
在LED转换器启动之前,无电流流入电阻器R13,并且包括MOSFET Q6和晶体管Q5的哑负载电流源减少其最大电流。当未示出的调光器触发时,LED转换器开始操作,并且等于LED电压的衍生电压(derivative)的电压(由变压器T1的电流比率所确定)在二极管D9和D12的阴极结合处生成。该电压提供控制ICU1并且注入由分支辅助电压以及电阻器R12和R13的电阻值所确定的电流。由于哑负载电流源的作用是维持加在电阻器R14上的预定压降,从除了MOSFET Q6之外的其它源的注入电流会减少流经MOSFET Q6的电流,并且藉此当转换器启动时电流也减少。
由电阻器R13和电容器C12所引入的短暂延迟将确保在LED转换器启动时电流不会立即下降,藉此减少任何的减幅振荡电流幅值。
二极管D13防止电流从LED转换器电子器件中反向进入桥式整流器BR1中,从而减少任何的减幅振荡电流幅值。
图8示出在此描述的本发明的另一实施例。在图中未示出调光器,但是它可以与电源一同串联连接端CN1和CN4。该电路包括连接到调光器输出的桥式整流器80,以将AC电流转换成DC电流。桥式整流器80然后对哑负载81和LED转换器电子器件82提供电流。哑负载81电连接到用作限制通过电路的最大电流的电涌限制电路82。该示意图未示出LED,但是如果要示出的话,将是连接在LED转换器电子器件82的端CN5和CN6之间。反馈通道90设置在LED转换器电子器件和动态哑负载81之间。
虽然本领域一般技术人员可以理解用于形成电路元件的各种设备的功能,但是可以包括一个对主要元件的简短描述以增强对诸电路元件的理解。LED照明转换器电子元件82包含一可调的电压调整器U2及其相关联的二极管D7和D8以及电阻器R22和R23,以对转换器ICU1提供调整过的DC电流。还有,ICU1用作对LED端CN5和CN6提供的电流的调整器。转换器ICU1还包括连接到由转换器ICU1控制的MOSFET Q1(用作为主要开关)的输出。
变压器T1最好是高频变压器,设置以使输入到变压器中的电压降低为较低电压,以对连接在端CN5和CN6之间的LED供电。变压器T1还通过反馈通道90(在本实施例中包括二极管D9和电阻器R27)对动态哑负载81提供反馈信号。变压器T1的输出电气地连接到功率整流器D6和D3,该整流器将高频AC输出整流成在端CN5和CN6提供给LED的直流电。由于由整流器D6和D3所提供的整流DC输出是脉冲的,电容器C3电器地连接在整流器输出和接地之间以对整流器D6和D3的输出进行滤波和平滑。
电路元件二极管D5和电容器C5连接到变压器T1的另一输出,并且对转换器ICU1提供辅助电源,藉此减少线性调整器U2的功率损耗。
电容器C4以及电阻器R2和二极管D2用作抑制加在主要开关MOSFET Q1上的高电压尖峰。

Claims (15)
1.一种包括串联电连接在电源和LED照明转换器之间的调光器、还包括与LED照明转换器并行放置的动态哑负载的电路,所述动态负载从所述LED照明转换器接收控制信号,所述动态哑负载响应所述信号调节所述负载。
2.如权利要求1所述的电路,还包括与所述电源和所述LED照明转换器串联的电涌限制元件。
3.如权利要求2所述的电路,其特征在于,所述电涌限制元件是恒流源。
4.如权利要求1所述的电路,其特征在于,所述控制信号是电流信号。
5.如权利要求1所述的电路,其特征在于,所述LED照明转换器包括AC到DC转换器。
6.如权利要求1所述的电路,其特征在于,所述调光器展示出一偏置电流,所述动态哑负载在所述调光器触发之前对所述偏置电流提供一负载。

提供连接到电源的相位控制调光器;
提供与所述调光器串联电连接的LED;
提供与所述LED并联的动态哑负载,
在所述调光器触发之后,改变所述动态哑负载,以从所述调光器中提取超过所述调光器的保持电流的电流,然后改变所述负载,以在由所述LED提取的电流超过所述保持电流时提取较少的电流。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法,还包括向所述动态哑负载提供控制信号的步骤。
10.一种可调光LED照明系统包括:
电连接到相位控制调光器的电源,所述相位控制调光器电连接到转换器电路,以将所述调光器的AC功率输出转换成对LED照明供电的DC功率输出,
与所述转换器电路并联电连接的动态哑负载,所述哑负载响应于所述转换器电路的操作而改变其电流提取。

12.如权利要求10所述的系统,还包括电连接在所述调光器和所述转换器电路之间的桥式整流器。
13.如权利要求10所述的系统,其特征在于,所述转换器电路包括一变压器,以减少从所述调光器提供的电压。
14.如权利要求13所述的系统,其特征在于,所述变压器也产生控制信号。
15.如权利要求10所述的系统,还包括电连接到所述动态哑负载的电涌限制电路。
