Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及多层结构容器,并更具体地涉及具有通过使用低密度聚乙烯形成的内层和外层的容器。
背景技术
塑料容器由于其容易成形性和廉价的生产成本而被用于各种应用中。具体地,低密度聚乙烯具有低结晶性,且是柔软和韧性的,并且由其制成的容器允许内容物容易挤出,并因此,已被广泛用于贮存糊状内容物例如蕃茄酱、蛋黄酱、糊、蜂蜜和洗发水等。
然而,上述聚乙烯容器由于其低阻气性而通常以包括由乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物表示的阻气层作为中间层的多层结构形成。这种多层结构使用酸改性的烯烃树脂作为用于粘合作为中间层的阻气性树脂层至内外聚乙烯层的粘合剂(例如,参见专利文献1和2)。

发明内容
发明要解决的问题
近年来,在容器领域中也已经要求降低树脂的使用量以避免资源枯竭。然而,当涉及到例如容器时,很难降低树脂量而不降低容器所需的性质。例如,上述聚乙烯容器伴随有降低形成内层和外层的聚乙烯(低密度聚乙烯)的量导致容器性质例如压曲强度和耐冲击性(落下强度)损失的问题。
因此,本发明的目的是提供由聚乙烯制成的多层结构容器,其使得可以降低树脂的量而不损害容器的性质。
用于解决问题的方案
关于降低用于生产聚乙烯多层结构容器的树脂量,本发明人已进行了深入试验和研究,意外发现当将粘合剂层与少量丙烯类树脂共混时,可改善容器性质并且尽管通过使用降低量的聚乙烯形成内层和外层但可保持改善的性质,并因此完成本发明。
根据本发明,提供多层结构容器,其包括低密度聚乙烯的内层和外层,以及包含阻气性树脂层和粘合剂层的中间层,其中粘合剂层包含酸改性的聚乙烯和丙烯类树脂,丙烯类树脂以0.5至10重量%的量包含于粘合剂层中。
本发明中,期望:
(1)粘合剂层进一步包含线性低密度聚乙烯;
(2)酸改性的聚乙烯是通过用酸改性线性低密度聚乙烯获得的酸改性的聚乙烯;和
(3)酸改性的聚乙烯具有0.925至0.950g/cm3范围内的密度。
多层结构容器通常通过直接吹塑成型获得。
发明的效果
本发明的多层结构容器中,包含酸改性的聚乙烯的粘合剂层共混有少量丙烯类树脂,并且显示改善的压曲强度和耐冲击性,有助于降低树脂的量(即,降低重量)。
例如,如由稍后所示的实施例的实验结果所理解的那样,尽管通过使用降低量的低密度聚乙烯形成内层和外层(尽管薄薄地形成内层和外层)或尽管形成容器的树脂的总重量降低约10重量%,使少量丙烯类树脂添加到粘合剂层的多层结构容器几乎不使压曲强度或耐冲击性(落下强度)降低。这些性质相当于或优于不降低树脂重量的对照例容器的那些性质。此外,由于添加丙烯类树脂,认识到粘合性不降低。
丙烯类树脂的添加可能损害容器外观。然而,通过添加线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)可有效避免外观的损害。
具体实施方式
本发明的多层结构容器具有通过使用低密度聚乙烯形成内层和外层,在内层和外层之间形成阻气性树脂层作为中间层和在阻气性树脂层、内层和外层之间形成粘合剂层的基本层结构。
<内层和外层>
本发明中,内层和外层为位于容器内表面和外表面上的层,并且通过使用低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)形成。
低密度聚乙烯为密度在不小于0.910g/cm3但小于0.930g/cm3范围的聚乙烯。就具有附在线性分子的许多短的分支而言,其不同于线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE),且柔软并且成形性非常优异。
在低密度聚乙烯中,从成形性的观点,使用具有约0.2至约20g/10分钟的MFR(190℃)的低密度聚乙烯。
具有通过使用上述低密度聚乙烯形成的内层和外层的容器特别地给予挠性和挤出性。因此,当填充有糊状内容物时,容器使得可以有效挤出内容物。
将低密度聚乙烯内层和外层的厚度设定为保持容器的基本性质以满足使用,并且容器作为整体的厚度不变得不必要的大。与常规已知的聚乙烯容器相比,本发明使得可以降低约10%的厚度。此时,容器还保持与已知容器的那些相当的基本性质,这是本发明的巨大优点。
此外,内层和外层可共混有适当润滑剂。例如,取决于容器中所包含的内容物的种类,内层可共混有润滑剂以改善容器中内容物的滑移性,从而容器中的内容物可高效地被排出(挤出)容器。此外,当外层共混有润滑剂时,可防止在输送容器的步骤中容器彼此粘着或可防止容器粘着到输送带,使容器能够高效输送。
作为润滑剂,可使用本身已知的那些,例如下述那些。
(a)烃类的那些,例如,液态化、天然或合成石蜡,微晶蜡(micro wax)、聚乙烯蜡、氯化聚乙烯蜡等。
(b)脂肪酸类的那些,例如硬脂酸、月桂酸等。
(c)脂族酰胺类的那些,例如硬脂酸酰胺、棕榈酸酰胺、油酸酰胺、芥子酸酰胺、亚甲基二硬脂酰胺、亚乙基二硬脂酰胺等。
(d)脂肪酸酯类的那些,例如硬脂酸丁酯、固化蓖麻油、单硬脂酸乙二醇酯等。
(e)醇类的那些,例如十六烷醇、十八烷醇等。
(f)金属皂例如硬脂酸锌、硬脂酸钙等。
(g)聚有机硅氧烷。
可单独一种或以两种以上的混合物使用这些润滑剂,并且其在内层和外层中的使用量可为约0.01至约0.5重量%。
此外,取决于用途,内层和外层可以以不损害容器的基本性质的量共混有紫外线吸收剂、颜料、染料或各种填料。
<阻气性树脂层>
在本发明的多层结构容器中,在内层和外层之间形成作为中间层的阻气性树脂层(以下常仅称为“阻气层”)。当设置阻气层时,使得有效抑制由于渗透过的氧引起的内容物劣化。
作为用于形成上述层的阻气性树脂,可典型地使用乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物(乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物的皂化物)和芳族聚酰胺,特别地,从其高阻氧性的观点,可使用乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物。
作为乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物,通常可使用通过使乙烯含量为20至60mol%,特别地25至50mol%的乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物皂化以使皂化度不小于96mol%,特别地不小于99mol%获得的那些共聚物的皂化物。作为阻气性树脂,其中可以最优选使用具有适度的成形性(MFR)的阻气性树脂,例如具有与形成内层和外层的低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)的那些相当的MFR的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物。
上述阻气层具有选定为显示优异阻氧性的厚度,例如,具有位于约5至约50μm范围内的厚度。
阻气性树脂层可赋予有吸氧性以改善阻气性(阻氧性)。
为赋予吸氧性,阻气性树脂层可共混有氧化性聚合物。此外,根据需要,可添加过渡金属催化剂(氧化催化剂)以进一步改善吸氧性。即,当氧化性聚合物氧化时,通过吸收捕捉氧以增强阻气性树脂的阻气功能。适当地添加过渡金属催化剂以促进氧化性聚合物的氧化。
上述吸氧阻气性树脂层本身已众所周知,并且氧化性聚合物和过渡催化剂已公开于JP-A-2003-266619中。
作为氧化性聚合物,例如,使用含烯键式(ethylenically)不饱和基团的聚合物。即,聚合物具有碳-碳双键,其容易经受氧气氧化以捕捉并吸收氧。作为含烯键式不饱和基团的聚合物,可例举具有源自共轭二烯例如丁二烯;链状非共轭二烯例如1,4-已二烯;或环状非共轭二烯例如甲基四氢茚的氧化性构成单元的均聚物和共聚物。为了改善分散性,可将官能团例如羧酸基或羧酸酐基团引入这些聚合物。上述氧化性聚合物可以以每100重量份阻气性树脂为约1至约15重量份的量添加。
此外,关于适当使用的过渡金属催化剂,过渡金属是周期表第VIII族的金属,例如铁、钴或镍,第I族的金属例如铜或银,第IV族的金属例如锡、钛或锆,第V族的金属例如钒,第VI族的金属例如铬,或第VII族的金属例如锰。其中,优选钴,原因是其显著地促进吸氧性(氧化性聚合物的氧化)。上述过渡金属催化剂通常为无机盐(例如卤化物)、有机盐(例如羰酸盐)或络合盐类(例如,β-二酮和β-酮-酸酯的络合物)的形式。上述过渡金属催化剂可以以换算为每100重量份上述阻气性树脂的金属例如约10至约1,000ppm的量添加。
<粘合剂层>
粘合剂层为充当本发明的多层结构容器的骨架的层,并且包含酸改性的聚乙烯和丙烯类树脂,并根据需要进一步共混有线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)。
用于粘合剂层的酸改性的聚乙烯起到作为用于将阻气性树脂的阻气层牢固粘合到低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)内层和外层的粘合剂的作用。酸改性的聚乙烯为用羧酸例如马来酸、衣康酸或富马酸,或者用其酸酐或酰胺或酯接枝改性的聚乙烯。优选地,酸改性的聚乙烯为用马来酸或马来酸酐接枝改性的聚乙烯。
此外,虽然不具体限定,但是从对内层和外层的粘合性的观点,要改性的聚乙烯优选为低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)或线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE),并且从有利地分散随后所述的丙烯类树脂、避免容器外观降低和改善容器性质(压曲强度和耐冲击性)的观点特别地为线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)。
线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)通过与α-烯烃例如1-丁烯、1-己烷或4-甲基戊烯-1共聚合至百分之几的程度从而将短链分支导入长链而具有低密度,并且就具有较少的短链分支而言,不同于形成内层和外层的低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)。就例如强度和韧性方面线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)优于低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)。
此外,从粘合性(紧密粘合)的观点,改性率较高,例如期望为具有0.925至0.950g/cm3范围内密度的酸改性的聚乙烯。密度越大,由酸引起的改性率越高。
此外,从成形性的观点,期望酸改性的聚乙烯具有约0.2至约30g/10分钟的MFR(190℃)。
为保持良好的粘合性且能够使基于下面将描述的丙烯类树脂的容器显示足够改善的性质,期望在粘合剂层中包含至少不小于3重量%,特别地为5至49重量%,并更优选7至20重量%的量的酸改性的聚乙烯。
本发明的最重要特征是将丙烯类树脂添加到包含酸改性的聚乙烯的粘合剂层。在粘合剂层中包含的丙烯类树脂的量为0.5至10重量%,并优选1.0至5.0重量%,这使得可以改善容器的压曲强度和耐冲击性。
例如,如果以大于上述范围的量将丙烯类树脂添加到粘合剂层,则耐冲击性降低。例如,如果降低内层和外层的厚度以降低树脂的总重量约10%,则相当大地降低落下强度。此外,如果丙烯类树脂的添加量小于上述范围并且降低内层和外层的厚度以降低树脂的总重量,则不仅耐冲击性而且压曲强度大大地降低并且变得难以保持例如容器的自立性(self-standing ability)。
即,当以上述范围的量将丙烯类树脂添加到粘合剂层时,使内层和外层的厚度降低并大大降低树脂的总重量且大大改善压曲强度和耐冲击性。
作为本发明中使用的丙烯类树脂,不仅可使用均聚丙烯而且可使用通过将丙烯与少量的其它α-烯烃例如乙烯、1-丁烯或4-甲基-1-戊烯等共聚获得的共聚物。然而,最期望为均聚丙烯。
此外,从成形性的观点,期望使用的丙烯类树脂具有约0.2至约30g/10分钟的MFR(190℃)。
在此,如果将丙烯类树脂添加到粘合剂层,则或许丙烯类树脂不会有利地分散于酸改性的聚乙烯中,劣化容器的外观,或具体地劣化透明性。为减轻由丙烯类树脂的分散不良引起的容器外观的劣化,期望与酸改性的聚乙烯一起使用线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)。
如已经描述的那样,线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)就具有较少短链分支方面不同于形成内层和外层的低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)。线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)不仅对作为粘合剂层的基质的酸改性的聚乙烯显示良好的亲和性,而且对丙烯类树脂也显示良好的亲和性,因此,能够使丙烯类树脂有利地分散于粘合剂层中,并使得可以有效减轻外观的降低。
用于改善丙烯类树脂的分散性的线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)可通常以31.0至96.5重量%并特别地为50至90重量%的量包含于粘合剂层中。
此外,期望线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)使用丁烯作为共聚单体以大大改善具体地丙烯类树脂的分散性。
此外,线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)具有期望地约0.2至约30g/10分钟的MFR(190℃)。
本发明中,包含上述组分的粘合剂层应当以保持良好粘合性并确保容器改善的性质的厚度形成,并且通常可以以1至50μm并特别地为约2至约20μm的厚度形成。
<其它层>
本发明的多层结构容器包括低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)的内层和外层、阻气层和粘合剂层。然而,此处,可在不损害容器性质的范围内使用在形成容器的步骤中产生的二次磨料(废料树脂)混合到未用过的低密度聚乙烯。此时,从积极再利用资源的观点二次磨料的量将为约10至60重量份,基于每100重量份未用过的低密度聚乙烯。
二次磨料层的位置可邻接内层或外层从而不会不利地影响容器的性质,并且其厚度可为不会引起容器厚度变得不必要大这样的程度。
选择邻接内层或外层的层的厚度以使容器壁的总厚度不会变得不必要大并且层中所含的润滑剂可迅速渗出到外层,并通常选择为约20至约100μm。
优选地,本发明的具有上述层结构的多层结构容器通过典型地借助于共挤出用于形成各层的树脂组合物熔融挤出管状型坯,并通过使用例如双拼式金属模具(two-split metal mold)将型坯直接吹塑成型为瓶状来生产。当然,还可以通过挤出成型或注射成型形成为具有预定层结构的平板状的预成型品,之后将预成型品柱塞辅助成型(plug-assist-forming)为杯状容器。
本发明的上述容器可期望地用于容纳,具体地粘性糊状内容物,例如蕃茄酱、水性糊剂、蜂蜜、各种沙司、洗发水等并且可特别地期望用作用于挤出内容物的挤压瓶。在生产这种容器时,本发明可以大大降低树脂的重量而不损害容器的性质。
实施例
现将通过以下实施例描述本发明。
根据如下所述的方法来测量容器的性质和使用的树脂的性质。
(1)压曲强度。
将获得的多层容器设置为其口部面向上进入压缩试验机,沿纵向以10mm/分钟的速度在上面施加负荷,将容器压曲的负荷(kgf)认作压曲强度。测量五个容器以求得平均值,然后在以下基础上评价。将用◎、○和△标记的容器认为在允许范围内。
◎:不小于5kgf。
○:不小于4kgf但小于5kgf。
△:不小于3kgf但小于4kgf。
×:小于3kgf。
(2)拉伸弹性模量
根据JIS7113从获得的多层容器主体的平坦壁切出试验片,并沿容器高度方向进行张力试验以测量拉伸弹性模量。测量五个试验片以求得平均值,然后在以下基础上评价。用○和△标记的容器认为在允许范围内。
○:不小于800MPa。
△:不小于700MPa但小于800MPa。
×:小于700MPa。
(3)落下强度。
分别用300ml自来水填充获得的多层容器,在保持于5℃的冰箱中存储24小时,从中取出,并允许从1.5米高度以直立状态(容器底部向下)的10个容器和以横向状态(容器底部横向)的10个容器落到混凝土地板表面上。计数破坏的容器的数量并认作落下强度,然后在以下基础上评价。用○和△标记的容器认为在允许范围内。
○:容器没有破损。
△:容器未破损但是局部分层。
×:某些容器破损。
(4)外观的不均匀(shading)。
目视观察获得的多层容器的主体壁以评价外观的不均匀。具有低透明性的阴暗部认为外观不均匀。测量十个容器中最大的不均匀并在以下基础上评价。用○和△标记的容器认为在允许范围内。
○:没有不均匀。
△:容器表面积的小于30%是不均匀的。
×:容器表面面积的不小于30%是不均匀的。
(5)紧密粘合性。
将获得的多层容器的主体的平坦部切断为4cm×6cm的尺寸,并沿容器高度方向反复折叠以形成线,从而评价紧密粘合性。反复折叠和打开50次从而使折叠部变为0?。使用十个容器并在以下基础上评价。用○和△标记的容器认为在允许范围内。
○:未发生分层。
△:直到40次未发生分层,但是在达到50次过程中发生分层。
×:39次前发生分层。
(6)综合评价
由压曲强度、拉伸弹性模量、落下强度、外观不均匀和紧密粘合性的评价结果给出如下综合评价。
○:各方面评价为“◎或○”。
△:在任何或某些方面评价为“△”但在各方面没有评价为“×”。
×:在至少一个方面评价为“×”。
(使用的树脂的性质)。
根据ASTM D123(190℃)测量用于形成各层的树脂的MFR并根据ASTMD792测量其密度。
(使用的树脂和润滑剂)。
使用以下树脂和润滑剂来形成各层。
[用于形成内层和外层的树脂]
低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)
MFR;1.1g/10分钟,密度;0.92g/cm3
(以300ppm的量包含作为润滑剂的油酸酰胺)
[用于形成阻气层的树脂]
乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)
密度;1.19g/cm3,MFR(190℃);1.3g/10分钟。
[用于形成粘合剂层的树脂]
a)马来酸酐改性的线性低密度聚乙烯-A。

[润滑剂母料]
将作为基材的低密度聚乙烯和作为润滑剂的油酸酰胺投入单独的进料器,并通过使用双轴挤出机挤出以制备从而3重量%的量包含油酸酰胺的母料。
[用于形成粘合剂层的粒料的制备]
投入到粘合剂层的粒料为通过借助于使用滚筒(tumbler)干式共混以重量百分数计称取预定量的丙烯类树脂、酸改性的聚乙烯和线性低密度聚乙烯的粒料获得的那些。
<实施例1>
将通过干式共混低密度聚乙烯与1.0重量%的润滑剂母料获得的树脂粒料供给到50-mm挤出机以形成外层,将表1所示的树脂供给到40-mm副挤出机A以形成粘合剂层,将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物供给到40-mm副挤出机B以形成阻气层,并将通过干式共混低密度聚乙烯与1.0重量%润滑剂母料获得的树脂粒料供给到40-mm副挤出机C以形成内层。通过在210℃下加热的多层模头挤出这些树脂以形成熔融型坯,然后以常规方式熔融吹塑成型为用于容纳蕃茄酱的具有喷嘴直径、300ml容积和11.8g重量的三种五层结构的管状多层容器。
具有平均层构成的容器的主体壁如下:
外层15.0%(67.5μm)/粘合剂层1.0%(4.5μm)/阻气层6.30%(28.4μm)/粘合剂层1.0%(4.5μm)/内层76.7%(345.2μm)。
容器的粘合剂层具有如下所述的树脂构成。
2重量%的homoPP作为PP类树脂,15重量%酸改性的LLDPE-A作为酸改性的PE树脂,和83重量%的LLDPE。
评价上述制备的容器的压曲强度、拉伸弹性模量、落下强度、外观不均匀和紧密粘合性。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<实施例2>
除了在粘合剂层中将homoPP的含量变为0.5重量%和将LLDPE的含量变为84.5重量%以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<实施例3>
除了在粘合剂层中将homoPP的含量变为10重量%和将LLDPE的含量变为75重量%以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<实施例4>
除了在粘合剂层中使用嵌段共聚合PP作为PP类树脂以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<实施例5>
除了在粘合剂层中使用98重量%的酸改性的LLDPE-B作为酸改性的PE和不使用LLDPE以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<实施例6>
除了在粘合剂层中使用98重量%的酸改性的LDPE-A作为酸改性的PE和不使用LLDPE以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<实施例7>
除了如下所述构成多层容器的层以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
外层15.0%(67.5μm)/粘合剂层3.0%(13.5μm)/阻气层6.30%(28.4μm)/粘合剂层3.0%(13.5μm)/内层72.7%(327.2μm)
<比较例1>
除了在粘合剂层中使用100重量%的酸改性的LLDPE-B作为酸改性的PE和既不使用PP类树脂也不使用LLDPE以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<比较例2>
除了在粘合剂层中将homoPP的含量变为0.3重量%和将LLDPE的含量变为84.7重量%以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<比较例3>
除了在粘合剂层中将homoPP的含量变为15重量%和将LLDPE的含量变为70重量%以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。
<对照例>
除了选择多层容器的重量为12.8g,如下所述构成多层容器的层,在粘合剂层中使用100重量%的酸改性的LDPE-A和既不使用PP类树脂也不使用LLDPE以外,以与实施例1相同的方式生产多层容器。以与实施例1相同的方式评价由此生产的容器。容器的说明和评价结果示于表1中。

Claims (5)
1.一种多层结构容器,其包括低密度聚乙烯的内层和外层,以及包含阻气性树脂层和粘合剂层的中间层,其中所述粘合剂层包含酸改性的聚乙烯和丙烯类树脂,所述丙烯类树脂以0.5至10重量%的量包含于所述粘合剂层中。
2.根据权利要求1所述的多层结构容器,其中所述粘合剂层进一步包括线性低密度聚乙烯。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的多层结构容器,其中所述酸改性的聚乙烯为通过用酸改性线性低密度聚乙烯获得的酸改性的聚乙烯。
4.根据权利要求1至3任一项所述的多层结构容器,其中所述酸改性的聚乙烯具有0.925至0.950g/cm3范围内的密度。
5.根据权利要求1至4任一项所述的多层结构容器,所述多层结构容器通过直接吹塑成型来获得。
