背景技术

一般的鞋子结构

平针织和纱线 
每个织物元件40、50和60可通过平针织过程形成。通常，平针织是用于制造其中材料周期地扭转的针织材料的方法(即材料从交替侧面来针织)。材料的两个侧面(或称为“面”)通常被分为“正面”(即面向外、朝向观看者的侧面)和“反面”(即面向内、背离观看者的侧面)。平针织(flat knitting)与圆形针织(circular knitting)相反，在圆形针织中织物总是从同一侧面针织。各种圆形针织的技术是已知的，例如窄管圆形针织(narrow tube circularknitting)和宽管圆形针织(wide tube circular knitting)。圆形针织技术的更多具体例子可见美国已公布专利公开号2005/0193592，该公开内容通过引用全部合并于此。与圆形针织相反，平针织更复杂，因为当从正面和反面针织时 同一针(如从正面看)通过两种不同运动来形成。因而，下针(knit stitch)(如从正面看)通过在正面上的下针或通过在反面上反针(purl stitch)来形成。在平针织中，织物通常在每行之后翻转。尽管平针织提供了用于形成织物元件40、50和60的适当方式，但是其他类型的针织也可使用，例如包括宽管圆形针织、窄管圆形针织提花、单针圆形针织提花、双针圆形针织提花和经编提花。 
平针织优于各种其他类型针织法的优点是平针织过程可用于形成大致三维的结构(一种或多种)，其中材料的层彼此交迭(即至少部分地共同延伸)，以形成环圈或其他交迭结构，如通道44和54。更具体地，平针织过程可制造这样的结构：其中多个层彼此连结以使得一个层的相对侧面与另一层一起用整体的结构形成，如通道44和54。此外，平针织可用于形成具有不同类型针法的区域和具有不同类型纱线的区域。例如，中间元件60的前部61描述为具有棱纹构造，该构造以与中部62和后部63的非棱纹构造相比以不同的程度伸展。而且，织物元件40和50可用与前部61相比较不可伸展类型的针法来形成，且被选择用于织物元件40和50的纱线可以是比被选择用于前部61的纱线更耐磨。如另一例子中，用于后部63的针法/纱线组合可被选择，以赋予脚踝开口31拉伸和回复的能力。因而，平针织过程可用于形成具有带不同性能的区域的大致三维或交迭的结构，这些区域用不同类型的针法和不同类型的纱线的组合来形成。 
平针织过程也可用于形成具有限定形状的元件，其不需要被从大的织物元件上剪切。例如，每个织物元件40、50和60可被针织为具有如图5-7所示的各自的形状，而不用从更大的织物元件上剪切出织物元件40、50和60。因此，不同于从更大织物元件上剪切的织物元件，织物元件40、50和60的边缘不需要被精加工来防止解开。还有该特点在制造过程中降低浪费且节省时间和金钱。 
形成织物元件40、50和60的纱线可包括棉和羊毛纤维、如丝绸这样的天然细丝和包括人造丝、尼龙、聚酯和丙烯酸树脂(acrylic)在内的合成细丝。其他材料也可使用，而不脱离本发明的范围。纱线可以是单丝纱线或多个独立的细丝。纱线也可用不同材料形成的分开的细丝来形成，或纱线可用每一个由两种或更多不同材料形成的细丝来形成。类似的构思也可用于用纤维形成的纱线。为了为鞋帮30以及特别是织物元件40、50和60提供拉伸 和回复的能力，可以使用并入了弹性纤维(elastane fiber)的纱线。弹性纤维可从E.I.duPont de Nemours Company以

被选择用于织物元件40、50和60的纱线的特点主要取决于形成各种细丝和纤维的材料。例如，棉花提供柔软的手感、自然的美感和生物降解能力。弹性纤维如上所述提供显著的拉伸和回复能力。人造丝提供覆盖和湿气吸收能力。羊毛材料除提供隔绝性能外也可提供高的湿气吸收能力。聚四氟乙烯覆层可提供织物和皮肤之间较低的摩擦接触。尼龙为具有高强度的耐久和抗磨损的材料，且聚酯为厌水材料，其干燥快且也可提供相对高的耐久性。尼龙/聚酯的平细丝可提供光泽，而带纹理的细丝可提供块状且不光滑的光泽。因而，包括纱线的材料可被选择为能给织物元件40、50和60赋予各种物理性能，且物理性能例如可以包括强度、拉伸、支撑、刚度、恢复性、舒适和成形性。 
组装过程。 
鞋子10的适当组装过程大致显示于图8A-8E中。以下概述的各种步骤的顺序作为鞋子10可被组装的方式的一种例子来描述。但是，本领域技术人员应理解，可以使用不同的顺序来组装鞋子10。参见图8A，每个织物元件40和50显示为被缝制或连结到中间织物元件60。更具体地，外织物元件40的下边缘42缝制到中部62的外边缘65a，且内织物元件50的下边缘52缝制到中部62的内边缘65b。可以使用各种缝线类型以上述方式来连结边缘42、52、65a和65b。例如，一旦应用了缝制，则边缘42、52、65a和65b可彼此邻接或彼此交迭。除了缝制，边缘42、52、65a和65b可用粘接剂或用热连结操作彼此连结。因而，可以利用各种方法来连结织物元件40、50和60。进而，本领域技术人员应理解，具有脚部大致形状的鞋楦可用在织物元件40、50和60的连结中，以形成鞋帮30。 
一旦织物元件40和50的下部连结到中部62，则织物元件40和50可连结到后部63，如图8B所示。更具体地，外织物元件40的后边缘43被缝制 到后部63的外边缘66a，且内织物元件50的后边缘53被缝制到后部63的内边缘66b。参见图8C，组装过程通过将织物元件40和50连结到前部61而继续。更具体地，外织物元件40的上边缘41被缝制到前部61的外侧64a，且内织物元件50的上边缘51被缝制到前部61的内边缘64b。 
为此，在组装过程中，织物元件40、50和60彼此连结，以形成形状能容纳脚部的内部空穴。鞋子10的各种其他元件现在可被增加。参见图8D，鞋带元件33定位为穿过通道44和54延伸且还在中间织物元件60的中部62下方延伸。每个环圈35定位为从通道44和54的上部向外延伸，且鞋带元件33的中部36定位在下方且在中间织物元件60的外部上。作为该示例性组装过程的最后步骤，如图8E所示，鞋带32通过鞋带元件33，脚跟后帮34粘结地连结或以其它方式固定到脚跟区域13中的鞋帮30的外部，且鞋底结构20粘结地连结或以其它方式固定到鞋帮30的下区域。 
额外的构造 
鞋子10提供了一种鞋类物品的合适构造的例子，该鞋类物品具有至少部分地平针织材料结构形成的鞋帮。参见图9A，用于外织物元件40的另一构造显示为在通道44和鞋带元件33的位置具有各种鞋带环圈45。如上所述，平针织过程可用于形成大致三维的结构，其中材料的各个层彼此交迭(即至少部分地共同延伸)，以形成环圈或其他交迭的构造，如通道44和45那样。鞋带环圈45可代替鞋带元件33，以容纳鞋带32的一些部分。尽管没有必要，但是鞋带元件33可以用基本不可延伸的材料形成。为了为鞋带环圈45提供类似的性能，被选择用于鞋带环圈45的纱线和缝线可在鞋带环圈45的区域中为鞋帮30赋予基本不拉伸的构造。

作为通过平针织过程形成的三维结构的另一例子，鞋帮70显示于图10A -10C中。鞋帮70包括中部71、一对侧部72、和八个鞋带环圈73、侧部72每一个包括侧边缘74、后边缘75和中间边缘76。当组装到鞋类物品中时，中间部分71在脚部上方延伸，且侧部72包在脚部下方。更具体地，侧边缘74彼此连结(或通过缝制)，以形成接缝，该接缝在脚部下方且沿着脚部的纵向长度延伸。此外，后边缘75彼此连结(例如通过缝制)，以形成接缝，该接缝沿脚跟向上延伸。在该构造中，中间边缘76可限定出开口，该开口允许脚部进出鞋帮70中的空穴。鞋带可延伸穿过鞋带环圈73，以提供可调整性。 
尽管侧部72在构造上相对较平，但是中间部分71具有通过平针织过程形成的穹顶形状。即，平针织过程将中间部分71形成为具有在脚部上方延伸的形状的三维结构。与侧部72对比，其中该侧部具有非棱纹类型的针法，中间部分71可以是棱纹的。除了不同的针法类型，不同的区域可以并入不同的纱线，以进一步改变鞋帮70的性能。因此，除了提供三维结构，平针织过程可以用于对鞋帮70的不同区域赋予不同的针法类型和纱线，由此，在不同区域中改变鞋帮70的性能。
