Abstract
本发明提供在钛的表面进行镀贵金属的技术。例如,在制造一部分实施镀金的燃料电池用隔板时,进行如下的处理。即:首先,准备由钛或者钛合金制成的用于燃料电池隔板的钛部件(S10)。该钛部件是表面上附着有含碳物质的钛部件。而且,对于该钛部件在300℃~700℃的规定的第1温度下实行第1加热处理(S20)。其后,在加热处理过的钛部件表面上进行镀金(S80)。按照这样的实施方式,在钛的表面上就可以简单地进行电解镀金。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及镀贵金属,更详细地说涉及在钛或者钛合金制的部件上进行镀贵金属的技术。
背景技术
历来,燃料电池中,在以按照原样使用则与燃料电池电极的接触电阻变大的原材料形成隔板的场合,可以在隔板表面与电极接触的部分上实施镀金。
但是,由钛或者钛合金形成隔板时,其表面难以直接进行电解镀金。这是由于在钛或者钛合金制的隔板(以下统一称为“钛制隔板”)的表面上形成了钝态的钛的氧化物被膜。另一方面,只要先进行作为基底镀的镀镍、其后进行镀金,就可以在钛制隔板上进行镀金。但是,这种方式的隔板,若表面的镀金存在缺陷时,从该处镍有溶出的可能性。由于镍赋予环境以坏影响,所以需要在钛上直接进行镀金的技术。这样的课题不限于镀金,对于要求与其它导电性部件的接触电阻低的钛制或者钛合金制的制品和部件进行镀贵金属时,也广泛存在。
本发明的目的在于,解决上述课题的至少一部分,提供在钛的表面上进行电解镀贵金属的技术。
另外,为了参考,将日本专利申请2006-111514号公开的内容引入本说明书中。
发明内容
为了达到上述目的,本发明在制造至少一部分上镀贵金属的燃料电池用隔板时进行以下处理。即:首先,(a)在由钛或者钛合金制的用于燃料电池隔板的钛部件的表面的至少一部分上形成碳化钛。其后,(b)在钛部件的表面的至少一部分上进行镀贵金属。在碳化钛上金的附着比在氧化钛上牢固。由此,只要按照这种方式进行,就可以在钛的表面上进行镀贵金属。
另外,在钛部件的表面的至少一部分上形成碳化钛时,优选进行以下的处理。即:(a1)作为钛部件准备表面上附着有含碳物质的钛部件。而且(a2)对钛部件在比常温高的规定的第1温度下实行第1加热处理。只要按照这种方式进行,就可以在钛部件的表面的至少一部分上形成碳化钛。
另外,表面上附着有含碳物质的钛部件可以是附着有在轧制钛部件时使用的轧制油的钛部件。在这种方式下,含碳物质就是轧制油。按照这种方式,在钛部件的制造工序中使用附着的轧制油,就可以形成碳化钛。因此,不必在轧制工序之外另设涂布含有用于形成碳化钛的碳的物质的工序。
另外,优选上述第1温度是包括在300℃~700℃范围内的温度。更优选第1温度是包括在450℃~550℃范围内的温度。
另外,优选通过第1处理,碳化钛在钛部件表面的至少一部分上以不均匀的密度形成。
另外,在钛部件的表面上形成碳化钛时可以按照以下那样形成。即:在钛部件的表面的至少一部分所包括的第1位置以第1厚度形成碳化钛。而且,在与钛部件的表面的至少一部分所包括的第1位置不同的第2位置以与第1厚度不同的第2厚度形成碳化钛。
另外,优选制造燃料电池用隔板时,(c)对镀贵金属的钛部件在比常温高的规定的第2温度下实行第2加热处理。按照这种方式进行,可以使贵金属镀层和钛部件的界面上存在的氢化钛扩散至钛部件内部。其结果,可以使贵金属镀层和钛部件更牢固地结合。
另外,优选上述第2温度是包括在220℃~400℃范围内的温度。
另外,本发明可以在各种实施方式中实现,例如,可以在燃料电池的隔板、燃料电池隔板的制造方法、具备钛制隔板的燃料电池、该燃料电池的制造方法等的实施方式中实现。
以下参照附图,详细地说明本发明优选的实施例,明确本发明上述的目的和其它目的、构成、效果。

图1是表示本发明实施方式的隔板的制造方法的流程图。
图2是表示在实施方式的隔板制造方法的各阶段中隔板用板状部件的截面图。
图3是表示使图1的其它各步骤条件原样保持一定、改变步骤S20中的加热处理的目标温度而进行图1的处理、进行镀层附着力试验的结果的标绘图。
具体实施方式
A.实施方式
图1是表示本发明实施方式的隔板的制造方法的流程图。图2是表示在实施方式的隔板制造方法的各阶段的隔板用板状部件的截面图。在制造隔板时,首先,在图1的步骤S10中,准备作为镀金对象的钛制隔板用板状部件10。板状部件10的原材料,例如可以是JIS1类的纯钛。该板状部件10是轧制钛部件而制成的板状部件,在其表面上附着有轧制油20(参照图2(a)),另外,轧制油由含碳的油脂制成。
在空气存在的环境下,通常钛制部件的表面由钝态的氧化钛TiO2覆盖。图2中,在板状部件10中,由11表示纯钛Ti的部分,由12表示表面的氧化钛TiO2的部分。
在图1的步骤S20中,进行板状部件10的导电化处理。具体地说,例如使板状部件10在10-2Torr的氩气气氛下以400℃~500℃加热处理约30秒。这里,将温度控制的目标温度设定为450℃。通过该加热处理,钛制板状部件10的表面部分与轧制油20中的碳反应,形成碳化钛Ti-C。图2(b)中由30表示板状部件10中的碳化钛的部分。另外,附着在板状部件10的表面上的轧制油20在各部分不是以均质的量和密度严密地附着。因此,碳化钛部30的密度和厚度因位置不同而不同。另外,在一部分上也有钝态氧化钛TiO2原样残留的部分。即:在板状部件10的表面上存在碳化钛Ti-C富集部分和氧化钛TiO2富集部分。
另外,制造钛制隔板时,在步骤S20的处理之前实施钛的板状部件的轧制工序和其后的退火工序。在该退火工序的最终阶段,通过将温度调整到400℃~500℃,可以实现步骤S20。实际上,步骤S20中的400℃~500℃的设定温度是比退火工序的温度低的温度。另外,在连续退火工序中,多数情况下首先实施洗涤工序,但是,即使经过该洗涤工序,在钛制板状部件的表面上也可以残存步骤S20中可形成碳化钛程度的充分的轧制油。
在其后进行的电解镀金之前,在S30~S70中进行前处理。在步骤S30中,对板状部件10进行抛光研磨。通过该抛光研磨附着在板状部件10的表面上的碳化的轧制油被研磨剂机械地除去。另外,表面干净时,可以不经过步骤S30~S70,直接进入步骤S80的工序。
在步骤S40中,对板状部件10进行抛光渣滓的除去。在该抛光渣滓除去中,由表面活性剂除去附着在板状部件10的表面上的研磨剂。
在步骤S50中对板状部件10进行浸渍脱脂。具体地说,将板状部件10浸渍在以NaOH作为主剂的碱性溶液中。其结果,由皂化反应除去板状部件10表面的油脂部分。
在步骤S60中,对板状部件10进行电解脱脂。具体地说,在以NaOH作为主剂的碱性溶液中进行板状部件10的电解。其结果,与皂化反应同时通过由电解发生的气体使板状部件10表面的污物去掉。
在步骤S70中,对板状部件10进行酸活化。具体地说,将板状部件10浸在氢氟酸系溶液中。其结果,板状部件10表面的薄锈和污物被除去,板状部件10的表面的一部分被溶解,露出金属表面。另外,步骤S70后露出的金属是碳化钛、氢氧化钛或氧化钛。也就是说,碳化钛30部和氧化钛部12下面的钛部11不露出来。
在步骤S80中,对板状部件10进行电解镀金。具体地说,在含有金离子或者金络合离子的亚硫酸系镀液中,将板状部件10配置为阴极,流过电流,在板状部件10的表面上析出金属金。这里,电流密度是0.3A/dm2,在50℃下通电约10分钟。另外,进行电解镀金时,也可以使用氰系镀液。
通常,钛制部件的表面由钝态的氧化钛TiO2覆盖。因此在钛制部件上进行电解镀金是困难的。但是,本发明的实施方式在步骤S20中在板状部件10的表面上设置了比氧化钛TiO2导电性高的碳化钛Ti-C部分30。因此,在步骤S80中可以在板状部件10的表面上进行镀金。另外。金在碳化钛上比在钝态的氧化钛上的附着牢固。由此,按照本实施方式,从这点出发,可以在钛部件上形成难以剥离的镀金层。另外,显然,即使以TiN或TiB等的具有高导电化皮膜代替Ti-C的方式也可以实施本发明,但是Ti-C的方式可以得到更好的结果。
在步骤S80中进行电解镀金的结果,如图2(c)所示,在板状部件10的表面形成镀金层40。另外,此时在镀金层40和碳化钛部30之间可以是氢化钛TiH、TiH2的层50。可以认为,这是在步骤S70的酸活化时氢附着在板状部件10的表面上、该氢与板状部件10的碳化钛Ti-C反应的产物。作为其理由可以举出,在完全除去Ti-C层的TiO2层最初不能附着Au,而且TiH、TiH2层的形成也显著地受到阻碍。
在步骤S90洗涤板状部件10。具体地说,将板状部件10浸入温水中,由超声波洗涤。
在步骤S100中,对板状部件10进行加热处理。即:在10-2Torr的氩气气氛下、在300℃~350℃下加热处理板状部件10约9分钟。另外,目标温度是330℃。通过该加热处理,氢化钛层50的氢化钛扩散到板状部件10的内部。其结果,如图2(d)所示,氢化钛层50消失。
氢化钛是脆的。因此,在镀金层40和碳化钛部30之间存在氢化钛TiH、TiH2的层50时,镀金层40容易剥离。但是,在本实施方式中,通过加热处理可以使镀金层40和碳化钛部30之间的氢化钛扩散。因此,镀金层40和碳化钛部30牢固地结合,镀金层40就难以从板状部件10剥离。
B.实施例
在实施例中,根据图1所示的流程图在钛制隔板用板状部件10上进行镀金。此时,改变步骤S20中的加热处理的目标温度,使其它各步骤的条件保持一定而进行处理。条件如下。
(a)板状部件10的原材料是JIS 1类的钛。
(b)在10-2Torr的氩气气氛下、约30秒、将目标温度设定为300℃~700℃的各种温度,在板状部件10的表面上进行用于生成Ti-C的导电化处理(参照图1的步骤S20)。
(c)在以NaOH作为主剂的碱性溶液中进行电解脱脂和浸渍脱脂(参照步骤S50和S60)。
(d)使用氢氟酸系溶液进行酸活化(参照步骤S70)。
(e)在含有金络合离子的亚硫酸系镀液中进行镀金(参照步骤S80)。
(f)在10-2Torr的氩气气氛下、将目标温度设定为330℃,进行用于扩散氢化钛的加热处理(参照步骤S100)约9分钟。
图3是表示使图1的其它各步骤条件原样保持一定、改变步骤S20中的加热处理的目标温度而进行图1的处理、进行镀层附着力Vs试验的结果的标绘图。图3的试验按照JIS规定的胶带剥离法进行。如图3表明的那样,优选生成碳化钛的步骤S20的加热处理在400℃~600℃的范围内进行,更优选在450℃~550℃的温度范围内进行。
之所以加热处理的温度比400℃低时镀层的附着力变低,可以认为是因以下的理由。即:加热处理的温度比400℃低时,不能促进作为含有碳的化合物的轧制油的碳化,难以引起轧制油的分解。因此,可以认为难以生成碳化钛Ti-C。
另一方面,之所以加热处理的温度比700℃高时镀层的附着力变低,可以认为是因以下的理由。即,可以认为,加热处理的温度比700℃高时,轧制油中的许多碳成分形成二氧化碳等气体排出到原材料之外或者扩散到原材料内部,不能残留在原材料的表层附近。
另外,对于进行上述那样的加热处理在表面上生成不均匀的碳化钛的钛制板状部件10(参照图2(b))和对相同的钛制板状部件不进行加热处理而由溅射在表面上形成均匀的碳化钛层的钛制板状部件分别进行镀金附着力的比较试验。另外,试验按照JIS规定的胶带剥离法进行。其结果可以明显看出,由加热处理在表面上生成不均匀碳化钛的板状部件10的一方与由溅射生成均匀的碳化钛的板状部件相比,其镀金层附着牢固。
C.其它实施方式
另外,本发明不受上述实施例和实施方式限定,可以在不偏离其要旨的范围内实施各种实施方式,例如可以是如下的实施方式。
C1.其它实施方式1:
在上述实施方式中对板状部件10进行镀金。但是镀在部件表面的物质不限定于金(Au),可以采用银(Ag)、铂(Pt)、钯(Pd)、铑(Rh)、铱(Ir)、钌(Ru)、锇(Os)等的其它贵金属。
C2.其它实施方式2:
在上述实施方式中,板状部件10由JIS 1类的钛制成。但是,进行镀金的部件的原材料并不限定于此。也就是说,进行镀金的部件的原材料也可以是JIS 2类或3类的钛。另外,除了JIS规定的纯钛以外,也可以是更多地含有其它金属的钛合金。
C3.其它实施方式3:
在上述实施方式中,附着在板状部件10的表面上的轧制油中的碳和板状部件10的钛反应而生成碳化钛。但是,也可以用其它的方法供给生成碳化钛所使用的碳。例如,也可以将含有碳的适当原材料在加热处理前涂布在板状部件10的表面上。
C4.其它实施方式4:
在上述实施方式中,在板状部件10的表面上生成碳化钛时,进行在10-2Torr的氩气气氛下、约30秒、目标温度450℃的加热处理。但是,在钛部件表面生成碳化钛时,温度、压力和加热时间可以是各种各样的值。另外,也可以在氦气氛等其它惰性气体的气氛下进行。但是,优选加热温度在300℃以上700℃以下,更优选在400℃以上、600℃以下。而且,进一步优选加热温度在450℃以上550℃以下。
C5.其它实施方式5:
在上述实施方式中,在板状部件10的表面上生成碳化钛的工序(图1步骤S20)在退火工序的最终阶段进行。但是,在钛部件的表面上生成碳化钛的工序并不限于此,也可以作为与退火工序相独立的工序实施。
C6.其它实施方式6:
在上述实施方式中,碳化钛以不均匀的厚度由加热处理形成在板状部件10的表面上。但是,碳化钛也可以通过溅射等其它的处理形成在钛部件的表面上。另外,碳化钛也可以以大体均匀的厚度形成在钛部件的表面上。但是,形成在钛部件表面上的碳化钛更优选以不均匀的厚度形成。另外,所谓“以不均匀的厚度形成碳化钛”也包括在钛部件表面的一部分上有不形成碳化钛的部分的实施方式。
C7.其它实施方式7:
在上述实施方式中,使氢化钛扩散的工序(图1的步骤S100)是在10-2Torr的氩气气氛下、在目标温度330℃下进行约9分钟的加热处理。但是,在进行用于使已进行镀金的钛部件中的氢化钛扩散的加热处理时,温度、压力和加热时间可以是各种各样的值。另外,也可以在氦气气氛等其它惰性气体的气氛下进行。但是,优选加热温度在300℃以上、400℃以下,更优选在320℃以上、380℃以下。
C8.其它实施方式8:
还优选使用由上述实施方式的方法制造的隔板制造燃料电池。该燃料电池是具备由反应气体的电化学反应进行发电的膜电极接合体和上述隔板的燃料电池。膜电极接合体具备电解质膜和设在电解质膜两侧的电极。而且,相对于电极将隔板分别设在与电解质膜相反的一侧,经实施镀金的部分而与电极连接。
由于这样的燃料电池的隔板用钛制成,所以隔板不发生腐蚀,可以长期发挥稳定的性能。另外,由于隔板经实施镀金的部分而与电极连接,所以隔板和电极的接触电阻小。由此,隔板和电极的接触部分比没有镀金时的发电效率高。而且,由于在隔板中镀金层和钛部件经由碳化钛相接触,所以镀金层难以从钛部件上剥离。
以上,参照其优选例示的实施例详细地说明了本发明。但是本发明不限于以上说明的实施例和构成。而且,本发明包括各种各样的变形和均等的构成。另外,已公开的发明的各种要素可以以各种组合和构成被公开,但是它们仅仅是例示之物,各要素既可以更多,或者也可以更少。而且,也可以是一个要素。它们的实施方式都包括在本发明的范围内。
产业上的利用可能性
本发明可以适用于燃料电池、燃料电池系统、以燃料电池作为动力源的发动机、具有利用燃料电池的动力源的车辆。
Claims (9)
1.在至少一部分上镀贵金属的燃料电池用隔板的制造方法,其包括以下工序:
(a)在由钛或者钛合金制的用于燃料电池隔板的钛部件的表面的至少一部分上形成碳化钛的工序;和
(b)上述工序(a)之后,在上述碳化钛的至少一部分上进行镀贵金属的工序。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,
上述工序(a)包括以下工序:
(a1)作为上述钛部件,准备表面上附着有含碳物质的钛部件的工序;和
(a2)对上述钛部件在比常温高的规定的第1温度下实行第1加热处理的工序。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中,
上述在表面上附着有含碳物质的钛部件是附着有轧制上述钛部件时使用的轧制油的钛部件;
上述含碳物质是上述轧制油。
4.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中,
上述第1温度是包括在300℃~700℃范围内的温度。
5.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中,
上述第1温度是包括在450℃~550℃范围内的温度。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,
上述工序(a)的结果,上述碳化钛在上述钛部件的上述表面的至少一部分上以不均匀的密度形成。

在上述钛部件的上述表面的至少一部分所包括的第1位置以第1厚度形成碳化钛、

8.根据权利要求1~7的任一项所述的方法,其还包括(c)对上述镀贵金属的钛部件在比常温高的规定的第2温度下实行第2加热处理的工序。
