B. Ben- zoyl, Alkylen, z.
B. Allyl, Chlorvinyl, substituiertes Alkyl, z. B. Carboxymethyl, Chlor- oder Brommethyl, 2,4,5,6-Tetrachlor- oder -Tetrabrompyrimidin, 2;
B. in Ace ton.

and lets a metal donor act on one another in such a way that the reactive component is reacted with the amino group of the coupling component, the diazo compound engages in the position adjacent to the hydroxyl group of the coupling component and the metal donor reacts with the metallizable group.
It has now been found that the copper or nickel complex compounds of the monoazo dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0038
wherein A, C, R and n have the meanings given above, and Bi is the remainder of a coupling component of the benzene series, which carries the hydroxy group in post-position to the azo group and can be further substituted, can also be prepared in such a way that 1 mol the diazo compound from an amino monoazo dye of the formula (II),

where B1 is a benzene radical coupling in para position to NH2 and in ortho position to alkyl-O- and alkyl is methyl or ethyl, acid coupling,
the disazo dye obtained is treated with a copper- or nickel-releasing agent under dealcoholic conditions and reacted with a reactive component R-Hal, in which R and Hal have the meanings given above.
The substituents which the nucleus C can carry are preferably lower alkyl and alkoxy groups (methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy) and halogen atoms (fluorine, chlorine, bromine).
The diazo components on which the radical A- in formula (II) is based are z. B.
1-aminobenzene-2-, -3- or -4-sulfonic acid, 1-amino-2-methylbenzene-4- or -5-sulfonic acid, 1-amino-4-methylbenzene-2- or -3-sulfonic acid, 1- Aminobenzene-2,4- or -2,5-disulfonic acid, 1-aminonaphthalene-4-, -5-, -6-, -7- or -8-sulfonic acid, 2-aminonaphthalene-1-, -5- or - 6-sulfonic acid, 1-aminonaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid, 1-aminonaphthalene-4,6-disulfonic acid,

Suitable coupling components of the formula (V) are, for. B. 1-amino-3-methoxy- or -3-ethoxy-benzene or 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxy-benzene.
The amino monoazo dyes of the formula (1I) are obtained by coupling the diazo compounds from the diazo components listed above with an optionally substituted 1-hydroxy-2-acylamino benzene, e.g.
B. 1-hydroxy-2-formyl-, -acetyl- or -propionylaminobenzene or 1-hydroxy-2-acetylamino-5-methylbenzene in an alkaline medium at temperatures of 0-10 C and saponification of the acylamino group, preferably in an alkaline medium, e.g. B. in 2-10% sodium or potassium hydroxide solution at 70-100 C, optionally in the presence of an organic solvent such as alcohol.
The amino hydroxyazo compound is isolated, diazoated in the usual way, directly or indirectly, and the diazo body is coupled with the coupling components of the formula (V) at 10-30 ° C. in an acidic medium.
The ortho-hydroxy-ortho-alkoxy-disazo dyes obtained are subjected to a dealkylating metallization, preferably before the reaction with the reactive component.
For the metallization of the ortho-hydroxy-ortho - alkoxy disazo dyes, it is advantageous to work in the concentrated aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a low molecular weight aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, e.g.
B. of sodium or potassium acetate, preferably in the presence of an alkanolamine, such as diethanolamine, at temperatures of 90-120 ° C., or in ammoniacal solution, preferably in the presence of an alkanolamine, at temperatures of 90-100 ° C. One leaves it on 1 molecule of disazo dye, an amount of metal donor containing 1 atom of metal.
Suitable compounds of copper are, for. B. cupric sulfate, cupriformate, cupric acetate or cupric chloride. As nickel compounds, for. B. nickel formate and nickel sulfate.
'The substituent R is preferably the radical of at least one mobile halogen atom and / or an additive C-C multiple bond containing border acid such as. B. chloroacetic acid, bromoacetic acid, ß-chloro and ß-bromopropionic acid, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, a-bromoacrylic acid, a, ss- and ss, ss-dichloro or -dibromoacrylic acid, ss- or y-chlorocrotonic acid,
ss- or γ-bromocrotonic acid, or the remainder of one of the following listed heterocyclic compounds: cyanuric chloride, cyanuric bromide, primary condensation products of a cyanuric halide of the composition
EMI0002.0153
where Hal is chlorine or bromine and y is the optionally further substituted radical of a primary or secondary aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heteroylclic amine,
an aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic hydroxy or thiol compound, but in particular the remainder of aniline, its alkyl and sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid derivatives, of lower mono- and dialkylamines and the remainder of ammonia, furthermore 2 , 4,6-trichloropyrimidine and 2,4,
6-Tribromopyrimidine and derivatives thereof, which carry, for example, the following substituents in the 5-position: methyl, ethyl, optionally substituted carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid amide, carboxylic acid methyl or ethyl ester, acyl, e.g. B. benzoyl, alkylene, z.
B. allyl, chlorovinyl, substituted alkyl, e.g. B. carboxymethyl, chloro- or bromomethyl, 2,4,5,6-tetrachloro- or -Tetrabromopyrimidin, 2;
6- dichloro- or -dibromopyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester, 2,4,5-trichloropyrimidine, the 4- or 5-carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide derivatives of 2,6-dichloro- or dibromopyrimidine, which may be substituted on the nitrogen atom, 2,5,6-trichloro-4-methylpyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro-5-chloromethyl-6-methylpyrimidine and 2,6-dichloro-4-trichloromethylpyrimidine.
The easiest way to introduce the acid residues is usually by using the acid halides in question, and in some cases also the acid anhydrides. It is preferable to work at low temperatu ren, z. B. at 0-20 C, and in the presence of acid-binding agents such as sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide or sodium acetate in a weakly acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline reaction, for example in the pH range 4-9.
For acylation, the carboxylic acid chlorides as such or in twice to five times the amount of benzene, chlorobenzene, methylbenzene, dimethylbenzene or acetone are added dropwise to the aqueous, well-buffered solution of the body carrying the amino group, e.g. B. at a temperature of 2-5 C. In the same way, you can also carry out the acylation with the anhydrides.
The introduction of a Dihalogencyanurrest is best in an aqueous medium at about 0 C and with a weakly acidic reaction, z. B. at pH values between 3 and 5, made. The cyanuric halide is used as such in solid form or dissolved in an organic solvent, e.g. B. in Ace ton.
For the primary condensation products of a cyanuric halide, it is best to choose a temperature of 30-60 C and a pH of 4-6, while temperatures between 40 and 100 C are most suitable for the di-, tri- and tetrahalopyrimidines. If temperatures higher than about 40 C have to be used, it is advisable, with regard to the water vapor volatility of individual halopyrimidines, to work in vessels which may be equipped with a reflux cooler.
The reaction can be carried out in a weakly alkaline, neutral to weakly acidic medium, preferably in the pH range 9-3. To keep the pH constant, either an acid-binding agent such as sodium acetate or a phosphate buffer is added to the reaction mixture at the beginning, or sodium or potassium carbonate or bicarbonate in solid, powdered or aqueous form is added in small portions during the reaction Solution.
However, aqueous solutions of sodium or potassium hydroxide are also suitable as neutralizing agents. The addition of small amounts of a wetting agent or emulsifier to the reaction mixture can accelerate the conversion reaction.
The reaction with the halogenated heterocyclic compounds is conducted in such a way that only one halogen atom reacts with an exchangeable hydrogen atom of the amino group.
The metal complex dyes obtained, which contain at least one reactive group, can be separated out from their aqueous solutions by adding salt, then filtered off, optionally washed and then dried.
The metal-containing azo dyes obtained are uniform metal complex compounds in which essentially 1 atom of metal is bonded to 1 molecule of disazo compound.
The new metal-containing reactive dyes are suitable for dyeing leather, for dyeing, padding and printing fibers of animal origin, e.g. B. wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers, e.g. Nylon, cellulose fibers, e.g. B. cotton, linen and regenerated cellulose fibers, e.g. B. Vis- kosereyon, Kupferreyon, rayon, and Ge mix and / or structures made of these fibers. The optimal application conditions vary depending on the type of fiber and the dyes used.
Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers can be dyed in acidic, neutrally or weakly alkaline medium and printed or fixed, e.g. B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, sodium metaphosphate, etc. You can also in the presence of leveling agents such. B. polyoxyethylated fatty amines or mixtures of the same with alkyl polyglycol ethers, acetic acid to neutral color and at the end of the coloration the bath by adding small amounts of an alkaline reacting agent such. B.
Ammonia, sodium bicarbonate or carbonate, etc., or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, e.g. B. hexamethylene tetramine, urea, blunt to a neutral or weakly alkaline reaction. This is followed by thorough rinsing and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
The dyeing, padding and printing or fixing of the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, sodium metasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc. To avoid reduction phenomena, mild oxidizing agents such as 1-nitrobenzene are often advantageous when dyeing, padding or printing the fibers. 3- Sodium sulfonic acid added.
In the case of cellulose fibers, too, the dyes are usually fixed in the heat. Some of the dyes can ments depending on the reactivity of the reactive groupings even at low temperatures, eg. B. 20-40 C, colored or fixed.
The dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers are particularly notable for their excellent wet fastness properties. These are based on the formation of a stable chemical bond between the dye molecule and the cellulose molecule. Often not the entire amount of dye takes part in the chemical reaction with the fiber. The proportion of the unreacted dye is removed from the fiber in these cases by suitable operations, such as rinsing and / or soaps, optionally using higher temperatures, synthetic detergents, e.g.
B. alkylarylsulfonates, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl polyglycol ether sulfate, optionally carboxymethylated alkyl polyglycol ethers, monoalkylphenyl and dialkylphenyl poly glycol ethers, are used.
In the following example, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 50.3 parts of the monoazo dye 2- (3'-amino-4'-hydroxyphenylazo) -naphthalene-4, 6, 8-trisulfonic acid are dissolved in 300 parts of water under neutral conditions. After adding 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite and cooling to 10, 35 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid are added in a thin stream. The resulting brown diazo compound is partially eliminated.
13 parts of 3-amino-1-methoxybenzene and 40 parts of crystallized sodium acetate are added to this diazo compound, and the reaction mixture is stirred at 15-20 until the coupling is complete. The dye suspension is then heated to 80, made mineral acid with 10% hydrochloric acid, a little more sodium chloride is added and the amino disazo dye which has separated out is filtered off.
The residue is washed with warm, acidic sodium chloride solution.
The dye paste is dissolved in a stirred flask equipped with a reflux condenser in a mixture of 1000 parts of water, 70 parts of 25% strength ammonium hydroxide solution and 10 parts of diethanolamine at 90 °. A concentrated aqueous solution of 22 parts of crystallized copper sulfate is added and the mixture is stirred at 90 for several hours.
The metallization takes place with splitting of the methoxy group. When the metallization is complete, the copper-containing amino disazo dye is salted out by adding sodium chloride, filtered off and washed with dilute sodium chloride solution.
The dye paste is dissolved in 2000 parts of water at 20 and the pH is adjusted to 5 with dilute acetic acid. 11 parts of β-chloropropionyl chloride are then added dropwise evenly over a period of 1 hour, while the pH of the reaction solution is maintained by adding Sodium carbonate solution between 4 and 6.
When the reaction is complete, the dye is salted out with sodium chloride in the heat, filtered off and washed with dilute sodium chloride solution. After the dye paste has dried, you have a dark brown powder which dissolves in what water with a purple-brown color.
