B. Aminohydroxy- oder Dihydroxy- verbindungen, mit einem erfindungsgemässen 2;4- Dihalogenpyrimidin zu .einem;
Process for the preparation of pyrimidine dyes The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of water-soluble dyes which contain at least one halogenated pyrimidine ring.
The process consists in using organic compounds which contain at least one reactive hydroxy or thiol group and also at least one substituent capable of forming azo dyes:
contain ducks, with a 2,4-dihalopyrirrnidine of the formula
EMI0001.0019
where x denotes a negative substituent different from halogen and y denotes hydrogen or methyl, condenses and the reaction products obtained are converted into water-soluble dyes by azo coupling.
The hydroxyl or thiol group can be bonded directly to an aromatic nucleus or indirectly via an aliphatic chain and optionally a bridge member.
The following may be mentioned as aliphatic chains: -CH2-, -CH2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-CH2--,
EMI0001.0037
The following can be considered as bridge members:
EMI0001.0039
EMI0001.0040
where R 'can stand for hydrogen, low molecular weight alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl :, or
EMI0002.0012
wherein: R "stands for an acyl radical.
The procedure. is advantageously carried out in such a way that one starts out from organic compounds which contain at least one reactive hydroxyl or thiol group and also at least one substituent which enables dye formation.
The conversion into the final dyes is carried out by azo coupling. One can proceed in such a way that at least one reactive hydroxyl or thiol group and .also a diazotizable amino group containing compound with a 2 according to the invention,
4-dihalopyrimidine converts, diazotizes the intermediate and couples the diazo compound with a coupling component to form a water-soluble dye,
or .that one reacts at least one reactive hydroxyl or thiol group and also a compound containing substituents which can be converted into a diazotizable amino group with a 2,4 dihalopyrianudine according to the invention, in the intermediate these substituents in,
converts the amino flu, diazotizes the amino body and couples the diazo compound with a coupling component to form a water-soluble dye.
On the other hand, compounds with at least one reactive hydroxyl or thiol group and at least one carbon atom capable of coupling, z.
B. aminohydroxy or dihydroxy compounds with a 2; 4- dihalopyrimidine according to the invention to .einem;
. Condense intermediate product that can be used as a coupling component. Of course, the diazo compound can also be coupled from a diazo component containing a halopyrimidyl radical with a coupling component,
which also contains a halopyrimidyl radical.
Organic compounds that can be used to build up the pyrimidine dyes are, for example:
1,3- or 1,4 amino-hydroxybenzenes, 3- or 4-aminobenzyl alcohols, 1- (3 ':
or 4 'hydroxy) phenyl-3 methyl-5-pyrazolones, aminohydroxy- and dihydroxynaphthalenes and preferably their sulfonic acids, for example 2-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid, 1 amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-4,6-disulfonic acid, 1 amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,
6-disulfonic acid and 1,8-dihydroxynaphbhalin-3,6 = disulfonic acid.
Among the 2,4-4 dihalopyrimidines according to the invention are z. B. the 2,4 dibromopyrimidines and, preferably, the 2,4-dichloropyrimidines are to be ver, which as substituents one of halogen, negative substituents such as haloalkyl, (z.
B. chloromethyl, dichloromethyl, trichloromethyl), nitro, nitrile, the carboxylic acid, carboxylic acid amide or carboxylic acid ester group, the sulfonic acid, sulfonic acid chloride and an optionally substituted sulfonic acid amide group on the nitrogen atom,
and have hydrogen or methyl as substituents y.
The reaction of the compounds used as starting materials with the 2,4 dihalopyrimidines according to the invention is preferably carried out in an aqueous medium. The halide can be used as such in concentrated form. or applied in a solvent ge dissolved. When,
Solvents for the halopyrimidines are particularly acetone, benzene, chlorobenzene and toluene.
The reaction temperature is expediently adapted to the individual starting materials. If temperatures higher than about 40 C have to be used, it is advisable, in view of the water vapor volatility of the halopyrimidine, to work in vessels equipped with a reflux condenser if necessary.
The reaction can be carried out in a strongly to weakly alkaline, neutral to weakly acidic medium. To neutralize the resulting one equivalent of hydrogen halide, an acid-binding agent such as sodium acetate can be added to the reaction solution at the beginning.
or you can add sodium or potassium carbonate or bicarbonate in solid, powdered form or as a concentrated aqueous solution in small portions during the reaction. Aqueous solutions of sodium or potassium hydroxide are also suitable as neutralizing agents.
The addition of small amounts of a wetting agent or emulsifier to the reaction mixture can accelerate the conversion reaction.
After the reaction has ended, Ida's reaction product can be isolated in a customary manner or converted directly into a water-soluble dye by azo coupling.
The water-soluble dyes carrying at least one halogenated pyrimidine ring according to the invention are suitable for dyeing, padding and printing fibers of animal origin, e.g. B. wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers, e.g. B. nylon, leather, cellulose fibers, e.g. B. cotton, linen, regenerated cellulose fibers, e.g. B.
Viscosereyon, Kupferreyon, rayon, as well as mixtures and / or structures .aus these fibers. Reserve the dyes. Triacetate artificial silk, as well as fibers from P.olyäthylenterephthalat, Polyvinylchlorid or Polyacrylnitnl. The optimal application conditions depend on the type
the fiber and the dyes used are different. Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers are preferably dyed in .acid, neutral or weakly alkaline medium and printed or fixed, e.g. B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, sodium metapho; sphat, etc. You can also in the presence of E, galizing agents such.
B. polyoxyethylated fatty amines or mixtures of the same with alkyl polyglycol ethers, acetic acid to neutral color and at the end .der the color of the bath by adding small amounts of an alkaline medium, z. B. ammonia, sodium bicarbonate, soda, etc., or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, z.
B. Hexamethylenetaminomine, urea, blunt to a neutral or weakly alkaline reaction. Then wind thoroughly rinsed and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
When: Dyeing and printing fibers and structures of animal origin and fibers and structures made of synthetic polyamide, depending on the reactivity of the dye, there is often a less pronounced bond between the dye molecule and the fiber: the dyes are partly thanks to their acidic character have an affinity for fibers.
The dyeing, padding and printing or fixing of the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, sodium metasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc.
To avoid reduction phenomena, mild oxidizing agents, such as sodium 1-nitro-benzene-3-sulfonic acid, are often advantageously added when the fibers are dyed, padded or printed.
The dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers are characterized in particular by their excellent wet fastness properties (e.g. water, washing, perspiration, milling, rubbing and dry cleaning fastness).
These are based on the formation of a stable chemical bond between (the dye molecule and the cellulose membrane. Often not the entire amount of dye takes part in the chemical reaction with the fiber.
In these cases, the proportion of unreacted dye is removed from the fiber by suitable operations such as rinsing and / or soaps, if necessary using higher temperatures. Synthetic detergents, such as e.g.
B. alkyl aryl sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl polyglycol ether sulfate and optionally carboxymethylated alkyl polyglycol ethers, mono- and dialkylphenyl polyglycol ethers, are used.
In the examples below, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight and the temperatures are in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 123 parts of 100% 4 aminobenzyl alcohol are dissolved in a solution of 1000 parts of water and 420 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution.
The solution is cooled to 2 by throwing in about 500 parts of ice and a solution of 22.0 parts of .2,4-dichloro-5-chlorine, ethyl-6-methyl-pyrimidine in 280 parts of toluene is added dropwise over the course of 3 hours, the Maintains temperature at 0-3 by external cooling, and stirs overnight at 0-3.
Then the reaction mixture is slowly mixed with 355 parts of 36% hydrochloric acid, the temperature being kept at 0-3 by throwing in ice, and it is made strongly Congo acidic. After a further hour at 2-4, the deposited product is filtered off with suction and washed with sodium chloride solution.
After determining the amine content, the 14.9 parts of 4 amino-1- (2 ', 4'-dichloro-6'-methylpyrimidyl-methylen-oxymethyl) -benzene are filtered in 170 parts of water and 14.7 parts 36% hydrochloric acid: suspended and 14.6 parts of 4N sodium nitrite solution at 15-18 were added over the course of 10 minutes.
After 1 hour at about 15, the diazotization is complete. The undissolved material is filtered off and the clear diazo solution is added dropwise at 2 to one of 16.7 parts of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone-2 ', 5'-disulfonic acid, 22.5 parts of sodium bicarbonate and 140 parts Water existing solution and stirred for 5 hours at 2-5.
The coupling compound is made slightly acidic by adding 25 parts of 10% acetic acid, heated to 40%, and mixed with: 60 parts of sodium chloride and 47 parts of 36% hydrochloric acid, he warms it to 60% and stirs it overnight at 20.
The deposited dye is filtered off with suction, washed with 5% sodium chloride solution and dried at 60 in a vacuum. Dyeing instructions 2 parts of the dye obtained, 0.8 part of an oxethylated fatty amine and 0.5 part of an oleyl polyglycol ether are dissolved in 5000 parts of water and 2 parts of glacial acetic acid are added.
This dye liquor is heated to 40-50, whereupon 100 parts of wool are added and the bath is brought to the boil within 30 minutes. The mixture is boiled for 45 minutes, after which the material is rinsed: and dried. This gives a level, very lightfast and wetfast greenish yellow coloration. If, after the dyeing process, the dye liquor is neutralized with ammonia and the material to be dyed in it for 20 minutes at 90 °, the dyeing is still somewhat more waterfast.
The same effect can also be achieved by treating the material to be dyed in a new bath from 5000 parts of water and 3 parts of hexamethylenetetamine at 90-95 for 20-30 minutes.
Example 2 The 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone-2 ', 5'-disulfonic acid is replaced as the aza component by 1- (2', 5'-dichlorophenyl) -3 m , ethyl-5-pyrazolone-4 '-, sulfonic acid, 1-hydroxynaphthalene-4,6, disulfonic acid or 1-acetylamino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid, this gives dyes that turn wool in greenish yellow, color in scarlet or red tones.
If, in place of the 4 aminobenzyl alcohol, 3-aminobenzyl alcohol, 3- or 4-amino-1-hydroxybenzene is used and the procedure is the same, valuable reactive dyes are also obtained.
