EMI0001.0023
1,3- bzw. 1,4 Diaminbenzol- sulfonsäuren bzw. -carbonsäuren, 4,4' Diamino-1,1'- diphenyl-3-,sulfonsäure, 1-(3'-bzw.4' Amme) phenyl- 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, Aminohydroxynaphthaline und vorzugsweise deren Sulfonsäuren. beispielsweise 2-Amino-5-hydroxynaphthalin-7-sulfonsäure, 2- Amino-8-hydroxynaphthEf,hn-6-eulfonsäure,
1-Amino- 8@hydroxynaphthalin-4,6-!disullfonsäure, 1 Ämino-8- hydroxynaphthalin-3,6-disulfonsäure.
Als 2,4,Dihalogenpyrimidine ,der Formel I kom men z.
Die Reaktionstemperatur wird zweckmässig der Reaktionsfähigkeit der einzelnen Ausgangsprodukte angepasst. Müssen höhere Temperaturen als etwa 40 C angewendet wenden, so ist es im Hinblick auf die Wasserdampfifvüchtigkeit der Halogenpyrimidine angezeigt, in gegebenenfalls ;
-bicarbonat in fester,

Process for the production of pyrimidine dyes The present invention relates to a process for the production of water-soluble dyes which contain at least one halogenated: n pyrimidine ring.
The process consists in the fact that organic compounds which contain at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group and also at least one substituent capable of forming azo colorants are given a 2;
4- dihalopyrimidine of the formula
EMI0001.0023
where x denotes a negative substituent different from halogen and y denotes hydrogen or methyl, condenses and the reaction products obtained are converted into dyes by azo coupling.
The amino group can preferably be monosubstituted by alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or haloalkyl radicals. It can be linked directly to an aromatic nucleus or indirectly via an aliphatic chain and, if appropriate, a bridge link.
The following are aliphatic chains:
EMI0001.0050
The following can be considered as bridge members:
EMI0001.0053
where R 'can stand for hydrogen, low molecular weight alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or
EMI0001.0062
wherein R "stands for an acyl radical. The process is advantageously carried out so
that one starts from organic compounds which contain at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group and also at least one substituent capable of dye formation.
These compounds are through after the introduction of the reactive group. Azo coupling converted into the final dyes. You can proceed like this
that at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group and also a diazotizable annino group-containing compound, for. B.
a reactive diamino compound containing an inert amino group, rides a 2,4 dihalopyrimidine of the formula I unreacted, the intermediate product is diazotic and the diazo compound is coupled with a coupling component to form a water-soluble dye,
or that one has at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group and also one in; a diazotizable amino group convertible subatituents contain the compound with a 2,4-dihalogenopyrinidyne according to the invention:
converts, converts this substituent into the amino group in the intermediate, dianotates the amino body and couples the diazo compound with a coupling component to form a water-soluble dye. On the other hand, connections can be made with at least one if necessary
monosubstituted amino group and at least one carbon atom capable of coupling, e.g. B. Aminohydr- oxyverbin, d'ungen, condense with a 2,4-dihalegenepyrimidine according to the invention to form an intermediate product which can be used as a coupling component.
Of course, the diazo compound can also be used from a halogenpyrimidyl radical containing a; Couple the diazo component with a coupling component which also contains a halopyrimedyl radical.
Organic compounds which can be used to build up the pyrimidine dyes are, for example:
1,3- or 1,4 diaminobenzenesulfonic acids or -carboxylic acids, 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-, sulfonic acid, 1- (3'- or 4 'Amme) phenyl-3 -methyl-5-pyrazolones, aminohydroxynaphthalenes and preferably their sulfonic acids. for example 2-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2- amino-8-hydroxynaphthEf, hn-6-sulfonic acid,
1-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-4,6-disulfonic acid, 1-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid.
As 2,4, dihalopyrimidines of the formula I come men z. B. the 2,4-dibromopyrimidines and, preferably, the 2,4 dichloropyrinridines in question, which as substituents x, a negative sub-substituent such as haloalkyl (z.
B, chloromethyl, dichloromethyl, trichloromethyl), nitro, nitrile, the canboxylic acid, carboxylic acid amide or carboxylic acid ester group, the sulfonic acid, sulfonic acid chloride; - and:
an optionally substituted sulfonic acid amide group on the nitrogen atom, and hydrogen or methyl as sub, atituenten y.
The reaction of the compounds used as starting materials with the 2 according to the invention
4-Dihalopyrimidines is preferably carried out in an aqueous medium. The halide can be used as such in concentrated form or else dissolved in an organic solvent.
Particularly suitable solvents for the halogen pyrimidines are acetone, benzene, chlorobenzene and toluene.
The reaction temperature is expediently adapted to the reactivity of the individual starting products. If temperatures higher than about 40 C have to be used, it is indicated in view of the water vapor volatility of the halopyrimidines, if necessary;
to work with vessels equipped with a reflux condenser.
The reaction can be carried out in a weakly alkaline, neutral or weakly acidic medium. To neutralize the resulting one equivalent of hydrogen halide, an acid-binding agent such as sodium acetate, for example, can be added to the reaction solution at the beginning.
can be added, or sodium or bicarbonate can be added in small portions during the reaction. ID = "0002.0245" WI = "24" HE = "4" LX = "1431" LY = "1159"> Potassium carbonate or bicarbonate in solid,
add powdered form or as a concentrated aqueous solution. However, aqueous solutions of sodium or potassium hydroxide are also suitable as neutralizing agents. The addition of minor.
Quantities of a wetting or emulsifying agent for the reaction mixture can accelerate the conversion reaction.
After the reaction has ended, this reaction product can be isolated in a customary manner or converted directly into a water-soluble dye by aza coupling.
The water-soluble dyes carrying at least one halogenated pyrimidine ring according to the invention are suitable for dyeing, padding and printing fibers of animal origin, e.g. B.
Wool, silk made of synthetic polyamide fibers, e.g. B. nylon, leather, cellulose fibers, e.g. B. cotton, linen and regenerated cellulose fibers, e.g. B. viscose rayon, copper rayon, rayon and mixtures and / or structures made of these fibers.
The optimal application conditions are different depending on the type of fiber and the dyes used. Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers are preferably dyed in an acidic, neutral or slightly alkaline medium and printed or fixed, e.g.
B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, Ammomumsullat, sodium methaphosphate, etc. You can .auch in the presence of leveling agents such. B.
polyether fatty amines. or of mixtures of the same with alkyl polyglycol ethers, acetic acid to neutral color and at the end of the color the bath by adding; small amounts of an alkaline agent, e.g.
B. ammonia, sodium bicarbonate, soda, etc., or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, z. B. Hexameihylen- tetramine, urea, blunt to a neutral or weakly alkaline reaction. This is followed by thorough rinsing and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
When dyeing and printing fibers and materials of animal origin, fibers and structures made of synthetic polyamide often result in a less pronounced bond between the dye molecule and the fiber, depending on the reactivity of the dye,
in that some of the dyes have an affinity for fibers thanks to their acidic character.
The dyeing, padding and printing or fixing of the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g.
B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, sodium metasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc.
sw. In order to avoid reduction phenomena, mild oxidizing agents such as sodium 1-nitrobenzene-3-sulfonic acid are advantageously added when dyeing, padding and printing the fibers. Both cellulose fibers are usually fixed in place with heat.
The dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers are particularly notable for their excellent wet fastness properties.
These are based on the formation of a stable chemical bond between the dye molecule and,: the cellulo: semolecule. Often the entire amount of dye takes part in the chemical conversion with the fiber.
The proportion of this unreacted dye is removed from the fiber in these cases: by suitable operations, such as rinsing and / or soaps, if necessary with the use of higher temperatures, whereby synthetic detergents, e.g.
B. alkylarylsulfonates, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl polyglycol ether sulfate: and, where appropriate, carboxymethylated alkyl polyglycol ethers, mono- or dialkylphenyl polyglycol ethers, are used.
In the examples below, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
<I> Example 1 </I> 34.1 parts of the monosodium salt of 1 amüno-8-hydroxynaphthhalin-3,6-disulfonic acid are introduced into a receiver of 200 parts of water and 40 parts of crystallized sodium acetate. While stirring, 21.2 parts of 2,4-dichloro-5-chloromethyl-6-methylpyrimidine are added to the solution,
heated to 80 and allowed to stir at this temperature overnight. The next morning the implementation is finished. It is cooled to 10, made weakly alkaline with 20% sodium carbonate solution and 40 parts of sodium bicarbonate are added.
A diazo solution prepared in a customary manner from 17.3 parts of 1-aminobenzene-2-sulfonic acid with sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid is now allowed to flow into this reaction mixture, the temperature of the coupling composition being kept between 5 and 10.
After about 2 hours, the coupling has ended and the new dye formed has dissolved. The dye is salted out with potassium chloride, filtered off and the resulting precipitate is dried at 50-60 in a vacuum. After drying, there is a red-brown powder that dissolves in water with a red color.
The dye produces very clear and excellent wet-fast dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers.
<I> Printing specification </I> For example, mercerized cotton can be mixed with a printing paste consisting of: 30 parts of dye, 100 parts of urea, 388 parts of water, 450 parts of 3% sodium alginate thickener, 20 parts of potassium carbonate, 2 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and 10 Parts of 1-nitrobenzo1-3-.sulphonic acid sodium,
be printed on a roller printing machine and then dried. The dried print is dampened for 10 minutes at 100-105 and then rinsed cold, then hot, soaped, rinsed again and dried. A brilliant blue-tinged red print with excellent wet fastness properties is obtained.
<I> Example 2 </I> 94 parts of 1,3 diaminobenzene-6-sulfonic acid are in 550 parts. Water with the addition of sodium hydroxide solution dissolved at 50 neutral. After adding 106 parts of 2,4-dichloro-5-chloromethyl-6-:

After cooling, sucks the precipitate off, washes it with dilute sodium chloride solution and dries it in a vacuum at 70 to 80.
38.5 parts of the 1-amino-3 - (2 ', 4' -dichloro-6-methyl-pyrimidyl-5-methylene-amino) - @ benzene-6-sulfonic acid sodium shown in the manner described above are in 1000 Parts of water with the addition of dilute sodium carbonate solution dissolved in a weakly alkaline reaction with gentle heating.

that the temperature of the reaction mass 5 does not exceed. After some stirring, any excess nitrous acid is destroyed by adding aminosulfonic acid.
The diazotization of the 1-amino-3- (2 ', 4'; d-dichloro-6 'methyl-pyrimid \ yl-methylene-am-ino) -benzene-6-sulionic acid can also be carried out directly, at approx turn.
The diazotization mass is slowly added to a neutral solution of 32.3 parts of 1- (2 ', 5' dichloro) -phenyl-3-methyl-5-ipyrazolorn-4 ', sulfonic acid in 300 parts of water, with:
the coupling mixture is kept neutral by adding dilute sodium carbonate solution dropwise. After some stirring, the mass is heated to 75 to 80 and the dye is deposited in crystalline form by slowly adding potassium chloride.
After filtering off, the press cake is dried in a vacuum at 80 to 90. The ground dye sets. yellow powder that dissolves in water with a yellow color.

20 parts of calcined sodium sulfate and 30 parts of potassium carbonate in 1000 parts of water with a squeeze effect of 70 to 90% fo # ulardiert. The textile material impregnated in this way is rolled up and heated for 5 to 8 hours at a temperature of 80 to 90 in
A closed box suitable for this purpose, which allows a constant humidity to be maintained. Then wind, the fabric in cold and hot water, rinsed thoroughly, now soaped at the boil for about 20 minutes,
Rinsed again and then dried. The greenish yellow color obtained in this way is extremely waterfast and lightfast.
