x einen von Halogen verschiedenen, negativen Sub- stituenten und y Wasserstoff oder Methyl bedeuten, kondensiert. Das neue Verfahren eignet sich für ;

Process for the production of pyrimidine dyes The present invention relates to a process for the production of water-soluble dyes which contain at least one halogenated pyrimidine ring.
The process is characterized in that organic dyes which contain at least one, preferably more than one water-solubilizing group and at least one reactive thiol or preferably one reactive hydroxyl group on an aromatic nucleus or an aliphatic <RTI

EMI0001.0034
x denotes a negative substituent different from halogen and y denotes hydrogen or methyl, condensed. The new process is suitable for;
all classes of water-soluble dyes which contain a reactive hydroxyl group; noteworthy examples of this type are hydroxymono- and polyazo colors:
substances, hydroxyanthraquinone dyes and hydroxyphthalocyanine dyes, substances. The hydroxy mono- and polyazo dyes can have coordinatively bonded metal atoms, for example chromium, cobalt, nickel or copper.
It is also possible to react such hydroxyazo dyes with 2,4 dihalopyrimidines which have metallizable groups. Such dyes can nen z.
B. metallized after condensation in substance or in metal-free form by one of the usual methods with the fiber to react ge, the resulting colorations with metal donors: can be aftertreated.
The dyes which, in addition to at least one reactive hydroxyl group, also contain an optionally monosubstituted reactive amino group, are also suitable for reaction with the 2,4 dihalopyrimidines. The Hydroxygmppe,
directly to aromatic nuclei of the fan substance molecule or indirectly via an aliphatic chain and optionally a bridge link; be bound to the dye molecule.
The following are aliphatic chains:
EMI0001.0104
The following can be considered as bridge members:
EMI0001.0106
where R 'can stand for hydrogen, low molecular weight alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or
EMI0002.0001
where R "represents an acyl radical.
As 2,4-dihalopyrimidines, for. B. to mention the 2,4-dibromopyrimidines and, preferably, the 2,4-dichloropyrimidines, which as substituents x a different from halogen, negative substituents such as haloalkyl (z. B.
Chloromethyl, dichloromethyl, trichloromethyl), nitro, nitrile, the carboxylic acid, carboxamide or carboxylic acid ester group, the sulfonic acid, sulfonic acid chloride and an optionally substituted sulfonic acid amide group on the nitrogen atom,
and have hydrogen or methyl as substituents y.
The conversion of the water-soluble dyes used as starting materials with the 2,4 dihalo:
genpyrianidinen is preferably carried out in an aqueous medium. The halide can be used as such in concentrated form or dissolved in a solvent.
Particularly suitable solvents for the halopyrimidines are acetone, benzene, chlorobenzene and toluene.
If higher reaction temperatures than about 40 C have to be used, it is advisable, in view of the water vapor volatility of the halopyrnines, to work in vessels equipped with a reflux condenser if necessary.
The implementation can be carried out in: strongly Abis weakly alkaline, neutral to weakly acidic medium. To neutralize the one equivalent of hydrogen halide formed, the reaction solution is expediently introduced either at the beginning
Acid-binding agent, such as sodium acetate, added, or you can use small amounts during the reaction:
Add portions of sodium or potassium carbonate or bicarbonate in a solid, powdered forum or as a concentrated aqueous solution. However, aqueous solutions of sodium or potassium hydroxide are also suitable as neutralizing agents. The addition of small amounts of one
Wetting or emulsifying agent for the reaction mixture can accelerate the conversion reaction.
After the end of the condensation, the finished pyrimidine dye can be precipitated from its solution or suspension, optionally neutralized beforehand, with sodium or potassium chloride, carburized salts or with acid, then filtered off, washed and dried.
The new at least one halogenated pyrimidine ring-bearing, water-soluble dyes eigen nen, suitable for dyeing, padding and printing of fibers of animal origin, z. B. wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers, e.g. B. nylon, leather, cellulose fibers, e.g.
B. cotton, linen and regenerated cellulose fibers, e.g. B. Viscosereyon, Kupferreyon, rayon, and mixtures and / or structures made of these fibers.
The dyes reserve triacetate rayon, as well as fibers made of polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride or polyacrylonitrile. The optimal application conditions vary depending on the type of fiber and the dyes used.
Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers are preferably used in acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline. Stain medium; and print or fix, e.g. B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, .Ammoniumsulfat, Na trium metaphosphate, etc. You can also in the presence of leveling agents z.
B. polyoxäthylierten Fett- anvinen or mixtures of the same time alkyl polyglycol ethers, color acetic acid to neutral and at the end of the coloration the bath by adding small amounts of an alkaline medium, z. B. ammonia, sodium bicarbonate, soda, etc., or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, z.
B. Hemamethylenietramin, urea, until the neutral or weakly alkaline reaction is blunt. This is followed by thorough rinsing and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
When dyeing and printing fibers and structures of animal origin and fibers and structures made of synthetic polyamide, depending on the reactivity of the dye, there is often a less pronounced bond between the dye molecule and the fiber,
in that the dyes have an affinity for fibers, partly thanks to their acidic character.
The dyeing, padding and printing .bzw. Fixing the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g.
B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, caustic soda, potassium hydroxide, sodium metasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc. To avoid reduction phenomena, when dyeing, padding or printing the fiber it is often advantageous to use mild oxidizing agents,
such as sodium 1-nitrobenzene-3-sulfonate added.
The dyeings and prints on RTIID = "0002.0234" WI = "23" HE = "4" LX = "1701" LY = "1878"> cellulose fibers are characterized in particular by excellent wet fastness (e.g. water, washing, Fastness to perspiration, flexing, rubbing and dry cleaning).
These are based on the formation of a: stable chemical bond between the dye molecule and the cellulose molecule. Often not all of the dye takes part in the chemical reaction with the fiber. Of the.
Proportion of the unreacted dye is removed from the fiber in these cases by suitable operations such as rinsing and / or soaps, optionally using higher temperatures, with syn thetic detergents such.
B. alkylarylsulfonate, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl polyglycol ether sulfate and optionally carboxymethylated alkyl polyglycol ethers, mono- and dialkylphenyl polyglycol ethers, find use.
In the examples below, the parts by weight mean the percentages by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 47.9 parts of the monoazo dye (as sodium salt), which is obtained by coupling diazotized 3-aminobenzyl alcohol with 1- (2 ', 5'-dichloro) -phenyl-3-methyl-5- receives pyrazolone-4'-sulfonic acid in an alkaline medium,
are dissolved in 1600 parts of water at 40 neutral and then made clearly alkaline with about 50 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution on ph.enolphthalein. The mixture is then cooled to 10 and 21.2 parts of 2,4-dichloro-5-chloromethyl-6-methylpyrimidine are added over the course of 60 minutes and the mixture is stirred overnight at 0-3. The new dye precipitates gelatinous.
It is diluted with water when the solution of the dye has occurred and salted out with sodium chloride, the new, yellow dye is isolated in the customary manner and dried at 60 in a vacuum.
The new dye is a yellow powder that dissolves in water with a greenish yellow color. On wool and synthetic polyamide fibers: as well as on fibers made of cellulose, it produces pure greenish, yellowish dyeings and prints of excellent lightfastness and excellent wet fastness.
Dyeing instructions 1. 2 parts of the dye obtained, 0.8 part of an oxethylated fatty amine and 0.5 part of an oleyl polyglycol ether are dissolved in 5000 parts of water and 2 parts of glacial acetic acid are added. This dye liquor is heated to 40-50, whereupon 100 parts of wool are added and the bath is brought to the boil within 30 minutes. Boil for 45 minutes, then rinse and dry the material. This gives a level, very light and wet, true green tinge: yellow coloring.
If the dye liquor is then neutralized with ammonia after the dyeing process and the material to be dyed is treated in it for 2 @ 0 minutes at 90 minutes, the dyeing is even more water-fast. The same effect can also be achieved by treating the dyed material in a new bath of 5000 parts of water and 3 parts of hexamethylene tetramine at 90-95 for 20-30 minutes.
