Zur Vermeidung von Reduktionserscheinungen werden beim Färben, Klotzen oder Bedrucken der Fasern oft mit Vorteil milde Oxydationsmittel, wie 1-nitro- benzol-3-sulfonsaures Natrium, zugesetzt;
Process for the preparation of reactive dyes The present invention provides a process for the preparation of reactive dyes, which is characterized in that 1 mol of a diazo or azo component which has at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group with at least 1 mol of a compound of the formula
EMI0001.0013
where two X are halogen and the remaining X is hydrogen or halogen,
and the reaction products obtained are converted into dyes by azo coupling.
The new process is suitable for the manufacture of both water-soluble dyes and disperisone dyes that are sparingly soluble in water. An optionally monosubstituted amino group is preferably to be understood as meaning the amino group optionally monosubstituted, for example by alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or haloalkyl radicals.
In the diazo and azo components, the amino group can be bound directly to an aromatic nucleus of the molecule or indirectly via an aliphatic chain and optionally a bridge member.
The following are aliphatic chains:
EMI0001.0034
The following can be considered as bridge members:
EMI0001.0035
where R 'can stand for hydrogen, low molecular weight alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or
EMI0001.0042
where R "represents an acyl radical.
The inventive method can, for. B. be carried out so that 1 mole of at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group and also a diazotizable amino group-containing compound, z.
B. a di-amino compound with one easily acylable and one difficultly acylatable amino group, with at least 1 mole of a compound of formula (I), the intermediate is diazotized and the di-azo compound with a coupling component to form a water-soluble dye or to one disperse dye, which is sparingly soluble in water,
or that 1 mole of at least one optionally monosubstituted amino group and besides the one carbon atom containing coupling border compound, z. B. an Aminohydroxyver- bond, with at least 1 mol of a compound of formula (I) and the intermediate is coupled with a diazo compound to form a water-soluble dye or a sparingly water-soluble disperse dye.
If a diamino compound containing two amino groups with the same reactivity is used, the acylation is conveniently carried out in a reaction medium in which the diamino compound is readily soluble and the monoacylation product is sparingly soluble, so that it is precipitated immediately after its formation and thus one removes further acylation.
Of course, the diazo compound can also be coupled from a diazo component containing the radical of a compound of the formula (I) with a coupling component which also contains a radical of a compound of the formula (I).
Examples of organic compounds which can be used to build up the reactive dyes are: 1,3- or 1,4-diamino-benzenesulfonic acids or -carboxylic acids, 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-diphenyl -3-sulfonic acid, 1- (3'- resp.
4'-Amino) - phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolones, Aminohydroxynaph- thaline and preferably their sulfonic acids, for example 2-Amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and -1,7-disulfonic acid, 2-amino -8-hydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid and -3,6-disulfonic acid, 1-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6- and -4,6-disulfonic acid.
The reaction of the water-soluble compounds used as starting materials with the reactive compounds according to the invention is preferably carried out in an aqueous medium. The compound of the formula (I) can be used as such in concentrated form or dissolved in an organic solvent. Particularly suitable solvents for the reactive compounds according to the invention are acetone, benzene, chlorobenzene and toluene.
The reaction is carried out in a weakly alkaline, neutral to weakly acidic medium. The reaction temperature must be adapted to the reactivity of the individual starting compounds. Suitable temperatures are e.g. B. -10 to 30 C.
The preferred pH range is between 4 and 7. To keep the pH constant, either an acid-binding agent such as sodium acetate is added to the reaction solution at the beginning, or sodium or potassium carbonate or bicarbonate is added in small portions during the reaction in solid, powdered form or as a concentrated aqueous solution.
Aqueous solutions of sodium or potassium hydroxide are also suitable as neutralizing agents. The addition of small amounts of a wetting agent or emulsifying agent to the reaction mixture can accelerate the reaction. After the coupling has ended, the water-soluble reactive dye obtained can be obtained from its optionally previously neutralized solution or suspension with sodium or potassium chloride from salt or precipitated with acid, then filtered off with suction, washed and dried.
The water-soluble dyes carrying at least one reactive radical according to the invention are suitable for dyeing, padding and printing fibers of animal origin, e.g. B. wool, silk, of syntheti's polyamide fibers, z. B. nylon, leather, cellulose fibers, e.g. B. cotton, linen and regenerated cellulose fibers, e.g. B. viscose rayon, copper rayon, rayon, and mixtures and / or structures made of these fibers. The optimal application conditions are different depending on the type of fibers and the dyes used.
Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers are preferably dyed and printed or fixed in an acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, Na trium metaphosphate, etc. You can also in the presence of leveling agents z.
B. polyoxyethylated fatty amines or mixtures of the same with alkyl polyglycol ethers, color acetic acid to neutral and at the end of the coloration the bath by adding small amounts of an alkaline agent, z. B. ammonia, sodium bicarbonate, soda, etc. or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, z. B. hexamethylenetetramine, urea, blunt to a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. It is then rinsed thoroughly and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
When dyeing and printing fibers and structures of animal origin and fibers and materials from synthetic polyamide, depending on the reactivity of the dye, there is often a less pronounced bond between the dye molecule and the fiber because the dyes have an affinity, partly thanks to their acidic character to own fiber.
The dyeing, padding and printing or fixing of the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, sodium etasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc.
To avoid reduction phenomena, mild oxidizing agents, such as sodium 1-nitrobenzene-3-sulfonic acid, are often advantageously added when the fibers are being dyed, padded or printed.
Further additions, in particular urea and other low molecular weight substances with at least one H:, N-CO group, but also guanidine, increase the solubility of the dyes and the color yield especially in pad dyeing and printing. In the case of cellulose fibers, too, the dyes are usually fixed in the heat. The dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers are particularly notable for their excellent wet fastness properties.
These are based on the formation of a stable chemical bond between the dye molecule and the cellulose molecule. Often not all of the dye takes part in the chemical reaction with the fiber. The proportion of the unreacted dye is len in these Fäl by suitable operations, such as rinsing and / or soaps, optionally using higher temperatures, removed from the fiber, where in synthetic detergents such.
B. alkyl aryl sulfonates, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl poly glycol ether sulfate and mono- and dialkyl phenol poly glycol ether, find use.
The reaction of the compounds which are used as starting materials, which are sparingly soluble in water, with a reactive compound according to the invention can be carried out in aqueous suspension, in aqueous-organic suspension or solution or in a solution in an inert solvent. The compound of the formula (I) can be used as such in concentrated form or else dissolved in an organic solvent. Particularly suitable solvents are acetone, dioxane, benzene, chlorobenzene and toluene.
The isolation of the disperse dyes is carried out by one of the basic operations, e.g. B. filtration, concentration of the solvent, precipitation from the solvent with a suitable medium.
The at least one inventive reactive remainder carrying disperse dyes are suitable for dyeing, padding and printing hydrophobic fibers and fiber mixtures, as well as shaped structures from such fibers, for example from fibers or structures from cellulose ethers and esters and from fully synthetic fibers or structures, z.
B. those made from linear polyesters, polyurethanes, polyacrylonitrile and their copolymers, as well as from mixtures of these fibers or Ge, but preferably from synthetic polyamide fibers and from base modified polyacrylonitrile fibers. The dyeings have good light, perspiration, washing, fulling, sublimation, pleating, thermosetting and sea water fastness properties.
The material to be dyed is subjected to heat treatment during or after dyeing or padding or pressure. When dyeing, padding and printing you can use the wetting, leveling, thickening or other textile auxiliaries usually used, while the heat treatment is advantageously carried out in the presence of hydrogen halide binding agents.
Suitable dispersants are advantageously condensation products of naphthalenesulphonic acid and formaldehyde, esters of sulphosuccinic acid, turkey red oil, condensation products of alkylphenols with ethylene oxide, soaps and other similar dispersants in the presence or absence of colloidal protective substances such as dextrins, gum,
as well as water soluble proteins.
Acetate rayon, which is very sensitive at temperatures above 90 C, is preferably dyed at temperatures between 60 and 85 C, while the triacetate rayon can be dyed at 95 to 100 C. The coloring of the fully synthetic fibers (linear aromatic polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl chloride) can be carried out at temperatures of 60 to 100 ° C. When using temperatures above 100 C one works under pressure.
The dyed fibers can, if necessary, be washed with warm water or with a synthetic detergent, then rinsed and dried. If necessary, the treatment with an inorganic or organic base or an alkaline soap or an alkaline cleaning agent can be carried out in one operation.
The disperse dyes are also suitable for printing on artificial fibers with the aid of dispersants. It is advantageous to use alkaline, e.g. B. sodium bicarbonate-containing printing pastes, which are also provided with the usual additives such as urea, thiourea, guanidine, etc. In the following example, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 31.9 parts of 1-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 400 parts of water by adding sodium hydroxide at a pH of 4.0-5.5. After the solution has cooled to 0-5, 15.5 parts of finely powdered 3,5-dichloro-1,2,4-triazine are added and the mixture is stirred for a further 3 hours at 0-51. The pH of the reaction mass is maintained between 4.0 and 5.5 by adding dilute sodium carbonate solution.
The solution of the condensation product is then mixed with 15 parts of sodium hydrogen carbonate and a suspension of the diazo compound which has been prepared in the customary manner from 17.3 parts of 1-aminobenzene-2-sulfonic acid is added. After the coupling has ended, the dye is salted out and filtered off. After drying and grinding, it is a dark red powder that dissolves in water with a red color.
If the dye is dyed on wool from a weakly acidic bath, a brilliant blue-tinged red dyeing with excellent wet fastness properties and good light fastness is obtained.
If the 3,5-dichloro-1,2,4-triazine in the above example is replaced by 18.5 parts of 3,5,6-trichloro-1,2,4-triazine, a dye with very similar ones is obtained Characteristics.
