Als kobaltabgebende Mittel verwen det man zweckmässig einfache Kobaltsalze wie Kobaltsulfat oder Kobaltacetat, gegebenen falls auch frisch gefälltes Kobalthydroxyd. Beispiel 12,1 Teile des Farbstoffes aus dianotiertem 5 - Nitro - 2 - amino -1- oxybenzol und 2-Amino- naphthalin-6-methylsulfon und 20;
Additional patent to main patent No. 303280 Process for the production of a cobalt-containing azo dye It has been found that a new, valuable cobalt-containing azo dye can be obtained
EMI0001.0006
correspond, allows cobalt-releasing agents to act in such a way that a cobalt-containing azo dye is formed which contains one molecule of each of the two starting monoazo dyes bonded to a cobalt atom in a complex.
The new cobalt-containing dye forms a dark powder that dissolves in water and dyes wool from a neutral or slightly acetic acid bath in yellowish green tones.
The two monoazo dyes used as starting materials in the present process can be prepared by methods known per se by dianotated 5-nitro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene with 2-aminonaphthalene-6-methylsulfone and dianotated 2-amino-1 -oxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid anilide coupled with acetoacetic acid isopropylamide.
The treatment with the cobalt-releasing agents is carried out according to the present method in such a way that a cobalt-containing dye is formed, which gets less per molecule of dye when one is on. a mixture of the two monoazo dyes represented by the following formulas
EMI0001.0027
contains cobalt as an atom in a complex bond.
Accordingly, the metallization is expediently carried out with such cobalt-releasing agents and by methods which, experience has shown, provide complex cobalt compounds of this composition. It is generally advisable to use less than one, but at least half an atom of cobalt for a molecule of a dye and / or perform the metallization in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium.
Simple cobalt salts such as cobalt sulfate or cobalt acetate and, if necessary, freshly precipitated cobalt hydroxide are used as cobalt-releasing agents. Example 12.1 parts of the dye from dianotated 5-nitro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene and 2-amino-naphthalene-6-methylsulfone and 20;
9 parts of the dye from dianotized 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid anilide and acetoacetic acid isopropylamide, both dyes in the form of a moist paste (filter cake), are dissolved in 800 parts of water with the addition of 8.0 parts of sodium hydroxide. It is now heated to 80 and 110 parts of a cobalt sulfate solution with a cobalt content of 2.95% are added. After brief heating to 85, the complex formation is complete.
The dye is separated out by neutralizing with dilute acetic acid and addition of sodium chloride.
