der zwei Monoazofarbstoffmoleküle an ein Kobaltatom komplex gebunden enthält.
Der neue kobalthaltige Farbstoff stellt ein wasserlösliehes braunes Pulver dar, welches sieh in Schwefelsäure mit orangegelber, in Na- triuniearbonatlösung mit gelbbrauner Farbe lest und Wolle aus schwach alkalischem, neu tralem oder schwach saurem Bade in vollen goldgelben Tönen von guten Echtheiten färbt.
Der als Ausgangsstoff dienende, der oben stehenden Formel entsprechende Monoazo- rarbstoff kann durch Kupplung von Acet- essigsäure-o-ehloranilid mit nach an sich be kannten Methoden, z. B. mittels Salzsäure und Natriumnitrit diazotiertem 2-Amino-l-oxyben- zol-4-sulfonsäuremethylamid hergestellt wer den.
Die Behandlung mit den kobaltabgebenden Mitteln erfolgt gemäss vorliegendem Verfah- ren in der Weise, dass ein kobalthaltiger Farb stoff entsteht, der pro Molekül Farbstoff weniger als ein Atom Kobalt in komplexer Bindung enthält. Demgemäss führt man die Metallisierung zweckmässig mit solchen kobalt- abgebenden Mitteln und nach solchen Metho den durch, welche erfahrungsgemäss komplexe Kobaltverbindruigen dieser Zusammensetzung liefern.
Es empfiehlt sich im allgemeinen, auf ein Molekül eines Farbstoffes weniger als ein, mindestens aber 1/2 Atom Kobalt zu verwenden und/oder die Metallisierung in schwach saurem bis alkalischem Medium aus zuführen. Als kobaltabgebende Mittel verwen det man zweckmässig Kobaltsalze wie Kobalt sulfat oder Kobaltacetat, gegebenenfalls auch frisch gefälltes Kobalthydroxyd.
<I>' Beispiel:</I> 4,24 Teile des Farbstoffes aus diazotier- tem 2-Amino-l-oxybenzol-4-sulfonsäuremethyl- amid und Acetessigsäure-o-chloranilid werden in 300 Teilen Wasser und 2,6 Teilen 30%iger Natriumhydroxydlösung gelöst. Die auf etwa 80 erwärmte Lösung wird mit 30 Teilen einer Kobaltsulfatlösung mit einem Kobalt gehalt von 1,181/o versetzt und 30 Minuten bei 80 bis 85 gerührt. Nach dieser Zeit ist die Komplexbildung beendet.
Man filtriert heiss und dampft, das Filtrat. im Vakuum ein.
