o-Oxycarbons@äuren, welche (las Kobalt in komplexer Bindung enthalten.
Additional patent to main patent no. 304040 Process for the preparation of an azo dye It has been found that a valuable, metal-containing azo carbate is obtained if one uses the monoazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0009
lets cobalt-releasing agents act in such a way that a kobalthal.tiger azo dye is formed which contains two monoazoa dye molecules bound to a cobalt atom in a complex.
The new metal-containing dye is a soluble powder that dyes wool from weakly alkaline, neutral or weakly acidic baths in yellow shades of good fastness to washing and washing.
The monoazo dye used as the starting material in the present process can be prepared by methods known per se by mixing diazotized 3-amino-4-oxy-1,1'-diphenylsulfone with 2-acetoacetylaninona.phthalin-6.sulfonic acid amide in alkali - lisehem medium ripples.
When performing the procedure, it is recommended to see in the. in general, to use an amount of a cobalt-releasing agent containing less than one, but at least half an atom of cobalt, and / or to carry out the metallization in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium. For example, complex aliphatic cobalt compounds are particularly well suited as cobalt-releasing agents for carrying out the method
o-Oxycarboxylic acids, which contain cobalt in a complex bond. Examples of aliphatic oxyarboxylic acids include lactic acid, glycolic acid, citric acid and, in particular, tartaric acid. Simple cobalt compounds, e.g. salts of divalent cobalt, such as cobalt sulfate or Cobalt acetate and optionally cobalt hydroxide can also be used as cobalt-releasing agents.
The conversion of the dye into the complex cobalt compound takes place with advantage in the heat, openly or under pressure, e.g. B. at 75 to 85, optionally in the presence of suitable additives, z. B. in the presence of salts of organic acids, bases, organic solvents or other agents promoting complex formation.
Example 256 parts of 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene-4-sulphonic acid chloride are dissolved in 500 parts of dry benzene and 140 parts of aluminum chloride are added gradually over a period of 40 parts, with the evolution of hydrogen chloride. The temperature is kept at 40 to 50 for 3 to 4 hours, the dark liquid is poured onto ice and the benzene is driven over with steam. The residue is filtered after cooling and washed with water.
The still moist 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene-4-phenylslilfon, which is recrystallized from alcohol and has a melting point of 125 to 126, is now 500 parts 10 0; Oiger sodium hydroxide solution is now heated to boiling for 3 hours until a practically clear solution has formed. This is acidified with hydrochloric acid, the precipitated 4-oxy-3-nitro = 1,1'-diphen @ isulphone is filtered off and washed with water.
From alcohol it crystallizes in yellow crystals with a melting point of 132 to 134. Finally, the product is reduced using the usual method with sodium (or catalytically with hydrogen in the presence of nickel).
24.9 parts of the 3-amino-4-oxy-1,1'-diphenylsulfone thus obtained are diazotized in a conventional manner in a hydrochloric acid solution with sodium trium nitrite. The diazo compound neutralized with sodium carbonate is combined with a solution prepared from 30.6 parts of 2-.1.ceto-aeetylaininonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid ureamide, 100 parts of water, 4 parts of sodium hydroxide and 5 parts of sodium carbonate. After the coupling has ended, the deposited dye is filtered off,
washed with dilute sodium chloride solution and dried.
To convert the dye thus obtained into the complex cobalt compound, 5.66 parts of the dye are heated to 80 with 150 parts of water and 5 parts by volume of 2N sodium hydroxide solution and 11 parts of a cobalt sulfate solution with a cobalt content of 2.951 / o are added . After about half an hour of heating to 80 to 90, the complex formation is complete.
By neutralizing with dilute acetic acid, the cobalt complex formed in the dye is completely deposited.
