Description

Process for the preparation of a condensation product which can be used as a preservative. It has been found that one arrives at a valuable compound that can be used, for example, as a reservation agent for wool or silk against staining with substantive dyes, if 1 mole of bis (3-aminobenzene-l-sulfonyl-3'-amino benzene -1'-sulfonyl-3 "-aminobenzene-1" -sulfonyl) - berrzidine-m, m'-disulfonic acid condensed with 2 moles of nitrobenzenesrrlfochlorid,

the product obtained is reduced to the diamino compound and the latter is combined with 2 ltfol 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene-5-sulfochloride.

   Example: Bis- (3-aminoberrzol-l -sulfonyl-3'-amirrobenzol-1'-sulfonyl-3 "-aminobenzene-1" -sulforryl-3 "'aminobenzene-1"' - sulfonyl) -benzidine-m, m'-disrrl- fosäure of the formula
EMI0001.0018
is produced according to the example of the main patent no. 153824 and the amount corresponding to one gramole kül is brought into solution with about 30 times the amount by weight of hot water in a weakly soda-alkaline solution and after adding 160 g of chalk at 80- 850 with 700 grams of 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene-5-sulfochloride mixed with good stirring.

The reaction sets in after a short time and the condensation product comes out in an initially viscous form. The temperature is maintained at 90-95 for about 1 hour with thorough stirring, hydrochloric acid is added until the broth has a weakly acidic reaction and the mixture is allowed to cool

<tb> G1 <SEP> UI solid crusts at the bottom of the vessel to form remaining reaction product. The lime salt obtained in this way is pulverized wet, suction filtered and dissolved in a hot soda-alkaline solution with about 10 times the weight of water.

The calcium carbonate precipitated in this process is filtered off with suction and the Brülle mixed with a little sodium chloride solution is acidified with acetic acid. The sodium salt of bis (1,2,4-trichlorobenzene-5-sulfonyl-3'-aminobenzene -1'-sulfonyl-3 " - Aminobenzene -1 "- sulfony 1-3" '- aminobenzene-1 "' - sulfonyl-3" "- aminobenzene-1" "- sulfonyl) -benzidine-m, m'-disulfonic acid of the formula in at first more viscous,

soon a crumbly, crystalline shape emerges. After vacuuming and drying, it forms an almost colorless powder that, like the corresponding ammonium salt, dissolves easily in warm water and has the property to protect wool and silk in mixed fabrics against staining with nouns dyes.
