Description

EMI0002.0024

Process for the preparation of a condensation product which can be used as a preservative. It has been found that one arrives at a valuable compound, which, for example, can be used as a reservation agent for wool or silk against dyeing with nouns dyes, if one mole of the according to the example of Swiss patent no.

150292 representable bis (3 aminobenzene-1-sulfonyl-3'-aminobenzene-1'-sulfonyl) -benzidine-m, m'-disulfonic acid with 2 mol. 3-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride condensed, the product obtained is reduced to the diamino compound and this with 2 mol. 1 .2. 3-trichlorobenzene-4-sulfochloride combined.

Example: Bis- (3-aminobenzene-1-sulfonyl-3'-amino-benzene-1'-sulfonyl-3 "-aminobenzene-1" -sulfonyl) -benzidine-m, m'-disulfonic acid of the formula
EMI0001.0025
according to the example of the main patent no.

153194 and the amount corresponding to one gram molecule by adding about 125-130 grams of soda with 10-15 times the amount of hot water brought into solution and the well-mixed solution at 80-85 with 160 grams of chalk and 700 grams of 1 .2.3-trichlorobenzene-4-sulfochloride added. The reaction sets in after a short time with strong foaming in the mixture, and the condensation product is deposited in the form of a viscous syrup on the walls of the vessel.

The temperature is maintained at 90-95 "for about 1 hour while stirring well, then hydrochloric acid is added to the liquid until the weak Congo acid reaction occurs, the mixture is allowed to cool and the clear broth is removed from the reaction product that remains in solid crusts.

The product is dissolved in a soda-alkaline solution with about five times the amount by weight of hot water and the broth freed from the precipitated calcium carbonate by suction is acidified after adding a little saline solution, the sodium salt of the bis- (1. 2.3-trichlorobenzene-4- sulfonyl-3'-aminobenzene-1'sulfonyl-3 "- aminobenzene-1" -sulfonyl-3 "'- aminobenzene -1"' - sulfonyl) -benzidine-m,

          m'-disulfonic acid of the formula
EMI0002.0024
precipitates in a viscous form, which then becomes crystalline in the cold. The product can be pulverized and freed from adhering broth by suction. After drying, it forms a colorless body that, like the corresponding ammonium salt, dissolves easily in warm water and has the property to protect the animal fibers in mixed fabrics from staining with substantive dyes.

Claim: Process for the preparation of a condensation product, characterized in that 1 mol. Bis- (3-aminobenzene-1-sulfonyl-3'-aminobenzene-1'-sulfonyl) -benzidine-m, m'-disulfonic acid with 2 mol. 3-Nitrobenzenesulfochlorid condensed, the product obtained is reduced to the di-amino compound and this with 2 Mol. 1.2.3-Trichlorbenzene-4-sulfochlorid .verein. The uncoloured end product that can be obtained in this way, which dissolves easily in water as the sodium or ammonium salt, for example, can be used as a reservation agent because it has the property of protecting wool and silk in blended fabrics from being stained with substantive dyes.
