Process for the preparation of a new, bluish green tetrakisazo dye. It has been found that you can get a new, valuable, bluish green tetrakisazo. receives dye,
if you use the aminodis azo dye 1-aminobenzene-2,5-disulfonic acid. azo -1- aminon aphtalin - 7 - sulfonic acid - azo -1- amino-2-ethoxynaphtha.in-6-sulfonic acid diazo- tated, with 2- (4'-amidobenzoyl) -amino-5-naphthol-7 -sulfonic acid couples,
the resulting trisazo dye is diazotized and coupled with salicylic acid.
The new dye dyes cotton a bluish green with excellent lightfastness.
Example: 853 parts by weight of the Na salt of the amino disazo dye 1-aminobenzene-2.5 disulfonic acid-azo-1-aminonaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid-azo-1-amino-2-ethoxynaphthalene-6-sulfo acid with little 'Vasser mixed into a paste. 280 parts by volume of 38 B6 sodium hydroxide solution are then added with good external cooling.
When everything has dissolved, a cooled aqueous solution of 70 parts by weight of sodium nitrite is added and then 1400 to 2000 parts by volume of pre-cooled 20% hydrochloric acid are added all at once. The diazotization goes quite quickly. When salt is added, the diazo compound separates out as a purple-brown precipitate.
They are suctioned off well and slowly carried into a well-stirred, externally cooled solution of 358 parts by weight of 2 (4'-amidobenzoyl) -amino-5-naphthol-7-sulfonic acid in 100 parts by volume of ice water, a little ammonia water and 2000 parts by volume of technical grade pyridine. The coupling takes place immediately with the solution turning blue-black. When the combination is complete, it is salted and filtered.
The trisazo dye, purified by dissolving, is dissolved with warm water, after cooling to 0 to 5 an aqueous solution of 70 parts by weight of sodium nitrite is added, and about 800 parts by volume of 20% hydrochloric acid are acidified. When sodium chloride is added, the diazotrisazo compound is deposited as a black-olive precipitate with a metallic sheen on the surface.
It is filtered and coupled with a solution of 256 parts by weight of salicylic acid in 300 parts by volume of water at 5 to 10 times alkaline. The dye formation is completed after stirring for 24 hours, it is worked up in the usual way. The dye presents a bluish green with excellent lightfastness on cotton.
