Methode diazotiert, indem man z.
gelöst in 250 Teilen Wasser, hinzu.
Additional patent to main patent no. 291197. Process for the production of a trisazo dye. It has been found that a valuable trisazo dye is obtained if a diazo compound of the aminodisazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0009
couples with 8-oxyquinoline.
The new dye forms a black powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blackish blue color, and in water with a blue color and colors cotton in real, navy blue tones using the one or two-bath copying process.
The aminodisazo dye of the above formula can be prepared by coupling diazotized 2-methyl-6-aminobenzimidazole with 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-methylbenzene, further diazotizing the aminomonoazo dye obtained and in an alkaline medium with 2 - (4'-Aminophenyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7,3'-disulfonic acid combined.
When preparing the aminodisazo dye by the method described above, the coupling of the diazotized 2-methyl-6-aminobenzimidazole is expediently carried out in a weakly acidic solution, e.g. B. acetic acid medium. The diazotization of the amino monoazo dye thus obtainable can be carried out by customary methods, eg.
B. with the help of hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite. This diazo monoazo compound is then coupled with 2- (4'-aminophenyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7,3'-disulfonic acid in an alkaline, for example alkaline carbonate-alkaline medium.
The amino disazo dye is advantageous after the so-called indirect. Method diazotized by z. B. a solution or suspension which contains the amino disazo dye in the form of an alkali salt and conveniently a small excess of free alkali and the required amount of nitrite, combined with an excess .an dilute hydrochloric acid.
The coupling of the aminodisazo compound with the 8-oxyehinoline is preferably carried out in an alkaline, e.g. B. _alkalicarbonat- or earth alkali hydroxide alkaline medium, if necessary with the addition of coupling promoting substances such as pyridine. Example:
14.7 parts of 2-methyl-6-aminobenzimidazole are dissolved in 100 parts of water and 25 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid and, after adding a little ice, diazotized by rapidly adding 35 parts of a 20% strength sodium nitrite solution. The mixture is stirred for a short time with cooling, any excess nitrite is destroyed with sulfamic acid and coupled in a known manner with a hydrochloric acid solution of 13.7 parts of 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-methylbenzene,
whereby the free hydrochloric acid is blunted with: sodium acetate. After coupling has ended, the monoazo dye is filtered off and washed out with 5% strength sodium chloride solution acidified with a little hydrochloric acid and then suspended in 350 parts of cold water.
First 22 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution are added, then 35 parts of a 20% strength sodium nitrite solution and a little ice are added, and the mixture is diazotized by adding 58 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid. The diazotization ends very quickly and the diazomonoazo compound is completely dissolved.
This is coupled with an alkaline sodium carbonate solution of 41 parts of 2- (4'-aminophenyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7,3'-disulfonic acid while cooling with ice. After coupling is complete, a little sodium chloride is added to complete the precipitation, the disazo dye is filtered off and the filter is washed with 15% sodium chloride solution until no more coupling components can be detected.
The dye is then dissolved in 1000 parts of warm water with the addition of 20 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution and, after addition of ice and 35 parts of a 20% strength sodium nitrite solution, diazotized by adding 58 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid. The mixture is stirred for some time with cooling, any nitrite still present is destroyed with sulfamic acid, a hydrochloric acid solution of 14.5 parts of 8-oxyquinoline and then 50 parts of sodium carbonate are added,
dissolved in 250 parts of water. The trisazo dye obtained is filtered off and dried.
