Additional patent to main patent No. 227127. Process for the production of a tirisazo dye. It has been found that a tris azo dye is obtained if the disazo dye, which is obtained by combining diazotized 4-aminophenylogamic acid with 1-amino-3-methylbenzene,
The monoazo dye thus obtained is further diazotized and combined in an alkaline medium with the 2-amine-8-ogynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid, diazotized and combined with 1,3-diogylyenzene.
The new dye forms a dark, bronzing powder that dissolves in water with a brownish-red color and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue color. The dye dyes cotton in brown-violet tones, which can be further developed by treating with farmaldehyde or 4-nitrodiazobenzo1. The washable brown shades obtained with 4-nitrodiazobenzene can be etched in pure white, both neutral and alkaline.
Example: 18.0 parts of 4-aminophenylogamic acid are diazotized in a known manner; the diazo solution is made congoneutral by adding 20% sodium acetate solution; then a solution of 10.7 parts of 1-amino-3-methylbenzene, dissolved in 50 parts of water with the aid of 13 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid, is added.
After 24 hours the insoluble monoazo dye is filtered off, then. Stirred well with 600 parts of water and converted into the sodium salt by adding sodium hydrogen solution. Then a solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite and 28 parts of 30% Sodium acid are added.
The diazotization mixture is stirred well at 1 (1-12 for 2-21 / 2 hours and then added to a solution, which is obtained by dissolving 23,
9 parts of 2-amino-8-ogynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid with the addition of 30 parts of sodium carbonate was prepared. After stirring for several hours, the disazo dye is salted out and filtered off. It is stirred again with 800 parts of water, with a solution of 6,
9 parts of sodium nitrite mixed. At 15, 2.8 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid are now collapsed. After 1-1?, -: @ hours, the suspension obtained in this way is stirred into a solution which contains 11.0 parts of 1,3-dioxybenzo: 1 and 30 parts of sodium carbonate in 150 parts of water. The mixture is stirred for a few hours at room temperature, then heated to 70, Iioeh: -, alz is added and the dyestuff which has separated out is filtered off.
