Process for the preparation of a trisazo dye. It has been found that a valuable trisazo dye is obtained; if you use a diazo compound of the aminodisazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0007
couples with 8-oxyquinoline.
The new dye forms a black powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with green-blue color and in water with blue-violet color and colors cotton in wash- and light-fast, navy blue tones after the one- or two-bath post-treatment process.
The amino disazo dye of the above formula can be prepared by coupling dianotated 6-aminoindazole with 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-methylbenzene, further diazotizing the amino monoazo dye obtained and in an alkaline medium with 2- (4'-amino- ph enyl) - amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7, 3 '- disulfonic acid combined.
In the preparation of the aminodisazo dye by the method described above, the coupling of the dianotated 6-aminoindazole is expediently carried out in weakly acidic, e.g. B. acetic acid medium. The dianotation of the aminomonoazo dye obtainable in this way can be carried out by customary methods, e.g.
B. with the help of hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite. This diazomonoazo compound is then coupled with 2- (4'-aminophenyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7,3'-disulfonic acid in an alkaline, for example alkali-carbonate-alkaline medium.
The aminodisazo dye is advantageously di anotized by the so-called indirect method, for example by adding a solution or suspension which contains the aminodisazo dye in the form of an alkali metal salt and advantageously a small excess of free alkali and the required amount of nitrite, with an excess combined in dilute hydrochloric acid.
The coupling of the aminodisazo compound with the 8-oxyquinoline is preferably carried out in an alkaline, e.g. B. alkali carbonate or alkaline earth alkali hydroxide medium, if necessary with the addition of coupling promoting substances such as pyridine. Example:
13.3 parts of 6-aminoindazole are dissolved in 300 parts of cold water and 45 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and, after the addition of a little ice, diazotized by pouring a solution of 7.6 parts of sodium nitrite in 35 parts of water. A little sulfamic acid is added until the nitrite reaction has disappeared and then kup pelt in a manner known per se in an acetic acid medium with ice-cooling with 13.7 parts of 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-methylbenzene. After the coupling is complete, enough hydrochloric acid is added that the Congo acidic reaction occurs,
the completely precipitated monoazo dye is filtered off, this is then stirred in a mixture of 1000 parts of water and 108 parts of 95% strength sulfuric acid and diazotized at 20 by rapidly adding 10 parts of sodium nitrite as a 20% strength solution. After 5 to 10 minutes
is the diazotization be ends; the diazomonoazo compound is completely dissolved. It is then coupled with 41 parts of 2- (4'-aminophenyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7,3'-disulfonic acid in an alkaline sodium carbonate solution while cooling with ice. After coupling has ended, the precipitated disazo dye is filtered off and washed on the filter with 10% sodium chloride solution until no more coupling components can be detected.
The disazo dye obtained is dissolved in the heat in 1500 parts of water and 13.5 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution, cooled to about 10 by adding ice, 7 parts of sodium nitrite as a 20% solution are added and by toppling 58 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid,
which have been diluted with 150 parts of water, diazotized. The diazo compound is allowed to stir for a few hours under ice cooling, the excess nitrite is destroyed with sulfamic acid, a weak hydrochloric acid solution of 1.1.5 parts of 8-oxyquinoline is first added and then a solution of 50 parts of sodium carbonate in 250 parts of water. After the coupling has ended, the precipitated dye is filtered off and dried.
