Abstract

um processo para a produção de 2-alquilalcanol a partir de um aldeído, é descrito. o processo compreende as etapas de: alimentar aldeído a um reator (42) operado sob condições de condensação e desidratação, de modo que a reação ocorra e um aldeído insaturado é produzido; recuperar a corrente do reator (42) compreendendo o aldeído insaturado e alimentar a referida corrente para um primeiro reator de hidrogenação (45) operado sob condições de modo que pelo menos algum do aldeído insaturado seja convertido em 2-alquilalcanol; recuperar a corrente do primeiro reator de hidrogenação (45) compreendendo o 2-alquilalcanol, um ou mais de acroleína, alquilalquenol e alquilalcanal não reagidos e compostos pesados; passando a corrente recuperada do primeiro reator de hidrogenação (45) para uma primeira zona de destilação (48), na qual pelo menos alguns dos compostos pesados são separados da corrente; recuperar uma corrente a partir da primeira zona de destilação (48) compreendendo o 2-alquilalcanol, um ou mais de acroleína, alquilalquenol e alquilalcanal não reagidos, a referida corrente tendo um teor de compostos pesados reduzido quando comparado com a corrente alimentada na primeira zona de destilação (48), e alimentar a referida corrente para um segundo reator de hidrogenação (51) operado sob condições tais que pelo menos um de acroleína, alquilalquenol e alquilalcanas não reagidos seja convertido em 2-alquilalcanol; e recuperar uma corrente a partir do segundo reator de hidrogenação (51) compreendendo um teor aumentado de 2-alquilalcanol em comparação com a corrente alimentada para o segundo reator de hidrogenação (51).
