resumo da patente de invenção para: "processo para produção de hexametileno diamina a partir de materiais contendo carboidrato e intermediários para os mesmos". são revelados processos para a conversão de uma fonte de carboidrato em hexametileno diamina (hmda) e a intermediários úteis para a produção de hexametileno diamina e outros produtos químicos industriais. hmda é produzido por redução direta de um substrato de furfural em 1,6-hexanodiol na presença de hidrogênio e um catalisador de redução heterogênea compreendendo pt ou por redução indireta de um substrato de furfural em 1,6-hexanodiol em que 1,2,6-hexanotriol é produzido por redução do substrato de furfural na presença de hidrogênio e um catalisador compreendendo pt e 1,2,6-hexanodiol é então convertido por hidrogenação na presença de um catalisador compreendendo pt em 1,6 hexanodiol, cada processo prosseguindo então para a produção de hmda por rotas conhecidas, como aminação de 1,6 hexanodiol. catalisadores úteis para a produção direta e indireta de 1,6-hexanodiol são também revelados.
