Abstract

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Schnecke (3) für eine Spritzgießmaschine (1), in der ein Heizzylinder (2) mit einem ersten Kompressionsabschnitt (5), einem Druckverminderungsabschnitt (6) und einem zweiten Kompressionsabschnitt (7) versehen ist, und in der ein Edelgas in den Druckverminderungsabschnitt (6) eingeführt wird. Gemäß der Erfindung ist an einem dem ersten Kompressionsabschnitt (5) entsprechenden Teil der Schnecke (3) ein Barrieresteg (13) als ein doppelter Steg, der eine Kombination aus einem Hauptsteg (14) und einem Nebensteg (15) mit einem größeren Steigungswinkel als der Hauptsteg (14) umfasst, ausgebildet und ist ein ringförmiger Dammsteg (18) mit einer vorbestimmten Breite stromabwärts von, d.h. vor dem Barrieresteg (13) ausgebildet. Ein Abdichtungsaufbau (20) zur Verhinderung eines Rückflusses des Kunstharzes kann zwischen dem Dammsteg (18) und dem Druckverminderungsabschnitt (6) vorgesehen sein.
