Abstract

La presente divulgación proporciona derivados de aminoácidos que tienen estructuras de alquilo ramificadas y propiedades de superficie activa (tensioactivas). El aminoácido puede ser de origen natural o sintético, o puede obtenerse mediante una reacción de apertura de anillo de una lactama, tal como caprolactama. El aminoácido puede funcionalizarse para formar un compuesto que sea de superficie activa y tenga características tensioactivas ventajosas. Los compuestos de la presente divulgación tienen concentraciones micelares críticas bajas (CMC) así como una capacidad superior para reducir la tensión superficial de un líquido. Reivindicación 1: Un compuesto caracterizado por tener la siguiente fórmula (1) en donde R¹ se selecciona a partir de hidrógeno, un átomo de oxígeno y alquilo C₁-C₆, en donde el alquilo C₁-C₆ puede estar sustituido con carboxilatos, hidroxilos, sulfonilos o sulfonatos; n es un número entero de 2 a 5 (incluidos 2 y 5); R² es alquilo C₅-C₁₂; R³ es alquilo C₃-C₁₀; el nitrógeno terminal está opcionalmente sustituido adicionalmente con R⁴, en donde R⁴ se selecciona a partir de hidrógeno, un átomo de oxígeno y alquilo C₁-C₆, en donde el alquilo C₁-C₆ puede estar sustituido con carboxilatos, hidroxilos, sulfonilos o sulfonatos; y un contraión opcional puede estar asociado con el compuesto y, si está presente, el contraión puede seleccionarse del grupo que consiste en cloruro, bromuro, yoduro y 4-metilbencenosulfonato. Reivindicación 19: Una composición líquida caracterizada porque comprende: un medio; y un surfactante de la siguiente fórmula (1) en donde R¹ se selecciona a partir de hidrógeno, un átomo de oxígeno y alquilo C₁-C₆, en donde el alquilo C₁-C₆ puede estar sustituido con carboxilatos, hidroxilos, sulfonilos o sulfonatos; n es un número entero de 2 a 5 (incluidos 2 y 5); R² es alquilo C₅-C₁₂; R³ es alquilo C₃-C₁₀; el nitrógeno terminal está opcionalmente sustituido adicionalmente con R⁴, en donde R⁴ se selecciona a partir de hidrógeno, un átomo de oxígeno y alquilo C₁-C₆, en donde el alquilo C₁-C₆ puede estar sustituido con carboxilatos, hidroxilos, sulfonilos o sulfonatos; y un contraión opcional puede estar asociado con el compuesto y, si está presente, el contraión puede seleccionarse del grupo que consiste en cloruro, bromuro, yoduro y 4-metilbencenosulfonato. Reivindicación 21: Una composición líquida caracterizada porque comprende: un medio; y un surfactante de la siguiente fórmula (1) en donde R¹ se selecciona a partir de hidrógeno, un átomo de oxígeno y alquilo C₁-C₆, en donde el alquilo C₁-C₆ puede estar sustituido con carboxilatos, hidroxilos, sulfonilos o sulfonatos; n es un número entero de 2 a 5 (incluidos 2 y 5); R² es alquilo C₅-C₁₂; R³ es alquilo C₃-C₁₀; el nitrógeno terminal está opcionalmente sustituido adicionalmente con R⁴, en donde R⁴ se selecciona a partir de hidrógeno, un átomo de oxígeno y alquilo C₁-C₆, en donde el alquilo C₁-C₆ puede estar sustituido con carboxilatos, hidroxilos, sulfonilos o sulfonatos; y un contraión opcional puede estar asociado con el compuesto y, si está presente, el contraión puede seleccionarse del grupo que consiste en cloruro, bromuro y yoduro.
