Abstract

Se proporciona un grano de trigo (Triticum aestivum) que comprende un embrión, almidón y uno, dos o tres proteínas de SBEIIa, dicho embrión que comprende dos alelos idénticos de un gen de SBEIIa-A, dos alelos idénticos de un gen de SBEIIa-B y dos alelos idénticos de un gen de SBEIIa-D, donde el almidón tiene un contenido de amilosa de al menos 50% (p/p) como una proporción del almidón extraíble del grano, y donde al menos una de las proteínas de SBEIIa se produce en el endospermo de trigo en desarrollo y tiene actividad de la enzima ramificadora del almidón. Se provee además una planta de trigo que produce el grano descripto precedentemente.Reivindicación 34: Harina o harina integral producida del grano de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 27 o reivindicación 30. Reivindicación 39: Un producto de alimento o bebida que comprende un ingrediente de alimento o bebida a un nivel de al menos 10% sobre una base de peso seco, donde el ingrediente alimenticio es el grano de trigo de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 31, la harina o harina integral de acuerdo con la reivindicación 34, o los gránulos de almidón o almidón de acuerdo con la reivindicación 35 o reivindicación 36. Reivindicación 45: Un método para mejorar uno o más parámetros de la salud metabólica, salud intestinal o salud cardiovascular en un sujeto que lo necesita, o de prevenir o reducir la gravedad o incidencia de una enfermedad metabólica tal como diabetes, enfermedad intestinal o enfermedad cardiovascular, el método comprende proveer al sujeto el grano de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 31, el alimento o bebida de acuerdo con la reivindicación 39.
