Abstract

Procedimiento para producir una masa refractaria silícea cristalina proyectando: partículas refractarias sólidas, partículas sólidas de silicio ygas oxígeno contra una superficie de manera que la reacción entre las partículas desil icio y el gas oxígeno tenga lugar sobre la superficie,desprendiendo el calor de reacción sobre la superficie de manera de formar una masa refractaria coherente que contiene cristobalita, caracterizado porque laspartículas refractarias sólidascompre nden sílice en una forma que tiene una red del tipo de cuarzo o bien de sílicie vitrea y porque la temperatura de lasuperficie contra la cual se proyecta dichas partículas se encuentra a una temperatura de al menos 1000°C. Elprocedimiento pu ede ser usado parareparaciones in situ de hornos que se encuentran a temperaturas elevadas, tales como hornos de fabricación de vidrio o bien para la fabricación de ladrillosrefractarios de alta calidad.
