Description
本発明は、アルデヒド変性シリコーン及びその製造方法に関する。
アルデヒド変性シリコーンは、ヒドロキシ基やアミノ基など様々な極性官能基を有する化合物と反応し、結合する能力を有している。そのため、樹脂改質剤や、化粧品向け感触改良剤として注目を集めている。しかし、アルデヒド変性シリコーンの合成経路は限られており、アルデヒド変性シリコーンが大規模な工業的方法を介して製造された例はほとんどない。
アルデヒド変性シリコーンの簡便な製造方法として、不飽和炭素-炭素結合を含むアルデヒドとヒドロシリル基官能性シロキサンとのヒドロシリル化が開示されている(特許文献1及び2)。この方法は、ヒドロシリル化反応の汎用性の高さなどから望ましいが、アルデヒドのカルボニル基へのヒドロシリル基付加の競合反応が進行してしまう。それが原因で、目的のアルデヒド変性シリコーンの収率や純度が低下する。
したがって、本発明は、高純度のアルデヒド変性シリコーンと、アルデヒドのカルボニル基へのヒドロシリル基付加の競合反応が進行しない、該アルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法を提供することを目的とする。
本発明者は、上記の課題を解決すべく鋭意研究を重ねた結果、ヒドロシリル化を用いず、1級アルコールの酸化反応を用いることによって、アルデヒド基のカルボニル基へのヒドロシリル基付加の競合反応を進行させることなくアルデヒド変性シリコーンを製造する方法を見出し、本発明を完成させた。
即ち、本発明は、下記のアルデヒド変性シリコーン及びその製造方法を提供する。

本発明のアルデヒド変性シリコーンは、ヒドロシリル化を用いずに、1級アルコールの酸化反応を用いて製造するため、アルデヒドのカルボニル基へのヒドロシリル基付加の競合反応が起こらない。したがって、高収率に高純度のアルデヒド変性シリコーンを製造することができ、樹脂改質剤、化粧品向け感触改良剤用の材料として利用できる。

上記式(1)及び式(2)中、R1は独立して炭素数1~10のアルキル基、炭素数6~10のアリール基、炭素数7~10のアラルキル基から選ばれる基である。炭素数1~10のアルキル基としては、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基、ブチル基等のアルキル基;シクロペンチル基及びシクロヘキシル基等のシクロアルキル基等が挙げられる。炭素数6~10のアリール基としては、フェニル基、トリル基、キシリル基、ナフチル基等が挙げられる。炭素数7~10のアラルキル基としては、ベンジル基、フェネチル基等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、メチル基、ブチル基、フェニル基又はベンジル基が好ましく、メチル基又はブチル基がより好ましい。
上記式(1)中、aは0<a≦3、好ましくは0<a≦1であり、bは0<b≦200、好ましくは1≦b≦100、より好ましくは5≦b≦60であり、cは0≦c≦1、好ましくは0であり、dは0≦d≦1、好ましくは0である。ただし、1≦a+b+c+d≦200、好ましくは1≦a+b+c+d≦100、より好ましくは5≦a+b+c+d≦60である。
また、上記式(2)中、eは1~150、好ましくは1~100、より好ましくは5~60の数である。

上記式(1)及び式(2)中、Aは直鎖状または分岐状である炭素数2~20のアルキレン基(-R-)、または直鎖状または分岐状である炭素数2~20のアルキレンオキシアルキレン基(-R-O-R-)であって、末端にアルデヒド基を1個又は2個有する有機基である。炭素数2~20のアルキレン基としては、例えばエチレン基、トリメチレン基、テトラメチレン基、ペンタメチレン基、ヘキサメチレン基、ヘプタメチレン基、オクタメチレン基、ノナメチレン基、デカメチレン基等が挙げられる。Aについて、より好ましくは、下記式(3)~(6);
から選ばれる基であり、上記式(3)~(6)中、mは独立して2~20、好ましくは2~10の数、n1は独立して3~8、好ましくは3~4の数、n2は独立して1~6、好ましくは1~3の数である。なお、Aの炭素数にアルデヒド基の炭素原子と、該アルデヒド基が結合している炭素原子との数は含まないものとする。
[アルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法]
本発明のアルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法(以下、「本発明の製造方法」と略す場合がある。)は、下記式(7)で示されるカルビノール変性シリコーンのヒドロキシ基を酸化させる工程を有することを特徴とする。
本発明の製造方法は、上記式(1)又は式(2)で示される本発明のアルデヒド変性シリコーンを製造することができる。
本発明のアルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法(以下、「本発明の製造方法」と略す場合がある。)は、下記式(7)で示されるカルビノール変性シリコーンのヒドロキシ基を酸化させる工程を有することを特徴とする。
本発明の製造方法は、上記式(1)又は式(2)で示される本発明のアルデヒド変性シリコーンを製造することができる。
上記式(7)中、R1は独立して炭素数1~10のアルキル基、炭素数6~10のアリール基、炭素数7~10のアラルキル基から選ばれる基である。炭素数1~10のアルキル基としては、メチル基、エチル基、プロピル基、ブチル基等のアルキル基;シクロペンチル基及びシクロヘキシル基等のシクロアルキル基等が挙げられる。炭素数6~10のアリール基としては、フェニル基、トリル基、キシリル基、ナフチル基等が挙げられる。炭素数7~10のアラルキル基としては、ベンジル基、フェネチル基等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、メチル基、ブチル基、フェニル基又はベンジル基が好ましく、メチル基又はブチル基がより好ましい。
上記式(7)中、aは0<a≦3、好ましくは0<a≦1であり、bは0<b≦200、好ましくは1≦b≦100、より好ましくは5≦b≦60であり、cは0≦c≦1、好ましくは0であり、dは0≦d≦1、好ましくは0である。ただし、1≦a+b+c+d≦200、好ましくは1≦a+b+c+d≦100、より好ましくは5≦a+b+c+d≦60である。
上記式(7)中、A’は直鎖状または分岐状である炭素数2~20のアルキレン基(-R-)、またはアルキレンオキシアルキレン基(-R-O-R-)であって、末端にヒドロキシメチル基を1個又は2個有する有機基である。炭素数2~20のアルキレン基としては、例えばエチレン基、トリメチレン基、テトラメチレン基、ペンタメチレン基、ヘキサメチレン基、ヘプタメチレン基、オクタメチレン基、ノナメチレン基、デカメチレン基等が挙げられる。なお、A’の炭素数にヒドロキシメチル基の炭素原子と、該ヒドロキシメチル基が結合している炭素原子との数は含まないものとする。
本発明の製造方法では、酸化剤としてニトロキシルラジカル化合物を使用することが好ましい。中でも、2,2,6,6-テトラメチルピペリジン N-オキシル、1-メチル-2-アザアダマンタン N-オキシル、2-アザアダマンタン N-オキシル、9-アザビシクロ[3.3.1]ノナン N-オキシル、9-ノルアザアダマンタン N-オキシル等が好ましい。
本発明の製造方法において、酸化剤の使用量は特に限定されず、目的に応じて適宜選択され、上記式(7)で示されるカルビノール変性シリコーン中のヒドロキシメチル基1molに対して、1×10-6mol~1molが好ましく、1×10-5mol~0.05molがより好ましく、1×10-3mol~0.05molが最も好ましい。
本発明の製造方法では、反応系中で消費された酸化剤の酸化能力を再生させることが可能な「再酸化剤」という化合物を併用することが好ましい。使用される再酸化剤としては、過酸素酸、過酸化水素、次亜ハロゲン酸若しくはその塩、過ハロゲン酸若しくはその塩、過硫酸塩、ハロゲン化物、N-ブロモコハク酸イミド等のハロゲン化剤、トリクロロイソシアヌル酸、トリブロモイソシアヌル酸等のトリハロゲン化イソシアヌル酸類、(ジアセトキシヨード)ベンゼン等のジアセトキシヨードアレーン類、ジエチルアゾジカルボキシレート等のジアルキルアゾジカルボキシレート、酸素、空気、又はこれらの混合物が挙げられる。
また、前記酸化剤と再酸化剤とを併用する場合、それぞれの使用量の比率は、酸化剤1molに対して再酸化剤10~200molが好ましく、20~150molがより好ましい。

本発明の製造方法において、反応は所望の反応が進行し、且つ生産性を損なわない限り、低温にて行うことが好適だが、通常は-80℃~120℃の範囲であり、0℃~40℃の範囲がより好ましい。
本発明の製造方法において、反応時間は特に限定されないが、1~24時間が好ましく、2~12時間がより好ましく、2~4時間が最も好ましい。
本発明の製造方法における酸化反応は、溶媒の存在下又は溶媒の非存在下のいずれで行ってもよいが、酸化剤または再酸化剤が固体の場合は、溶媒を用いて行うことが好ましい。
溶媒を用いる場合、溶媒は反応を阻害しないものであればその種類は特に限定されない。溶媒としては、例えば、ヘキサン、ヘプタン、石油エーテル等の脂肪族炭化水素類、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素類、アセトニトリル、プロピオニトリル、ベンゾニトリルのようなニトリル類、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、1,2-ジクロロエタン、四塩化炭素等のハロゲン化炭化水素類、ジエチルエーテル、ジイソプロピルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、ジメトキシエタン、ジエチレングリコールジメチルエーテル等のエーテル類、ホルムアミド、ジメチルホルムアミド、ジメチルアセトアミド、ヘキサメチルリン酸トリアミド等のアミド類、ジメチルスルホキシド等のスルホキシド類、蟻酸エチル、酢酸エチル、酢酸プロピル、酢酸ブチル、炭酸ジエチル等のエステル類、酢酸、蟻酸、プロピオン酸等のカルボン酸類、スルホラン、水等を挙げることができ、これらを混合物として使用してもよい。中でも、脂肪族炭化水素類、芳香族炭化水素類、ニトリル類、ハロゲン化炭化水素類、エステル類、カルボン酸類、水、又はそれらの混合物が好ましく、ジクロロメタン、アセトニトリル、酢酸、トルエン、酢酸エチル、酢酸イソプロピル、水、又はそれらの混合物がより好ましく、ジクロロメタン、ジクロロメタン-水混合溶液、トルエン-水混合溶液、酢酸エチル-水混合溶液、アセトニトリル、又は酢酸が最も好ましい。
溶媒を用いる場合、溶媒は反応を阻害しないものであればその種類は特に限定されない。溶媒としては、例えば、ヘキサン、ヘプタン、石油エーテル等の脂肪族炭化水素類、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素類、アセトニトリル、プロピオニトリル、ベンゾニトリルのようなニトリル類、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、1,2-ジクロロエタン、四塩化炭素等のハロゲン化炭化水素類、ジエチルエーテル、ジイソプロピルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、ジメトキシエタン、ジエチレングリコールジメチルエーテル等のエーテル類、ホルムアミド、ジメチルホルムアミド、ジメチルアセトアミド、ヘキサメチルリン酸トリアミド等のアミド類、ジメチルスルホキシド等のスルホキシド類、蟻酸エチル、酢酸エチル、酢酸プロピル、酢酸ブチル、炭酸ジエチル等のエステル類、酢酸、蟻酸、プロピオン酸等のカルボン酸類、スルホラン、水等を挙げることができ、これらを混合物として使用してもよい。中でも、脂肪族炭化水素類、芳香族炭化水素類、ニトリル類、ハロゲン化炭化水素類、エステル類、カルボン酸類、水、又はそれらの混合物が好ましく、ジクロロメタン、アセトニトリル、酢酸、トルエン、酢酸エチル、酢酸イソプロピル、水、又はそれらの混合物がより好ましく、ジクロロメタン、ジクロロメタン-水混合溶液、トルエン-水混合溶液、酢酸エチル-水混合溶液、アセトニトリル、又は酢酸が最も好ましい。
本発明の製造方法における酸化反応に次いで、酸化反応で用いた酸化剤や再酸化剤を失活させるためのクエンチング工程を含むことが好ましい。この工程を追加することによって、生成したアルデヒド基の更なる酸化等の副反応を抑えることができる。クエンチング工程で用いる失活剤は、酸化剤の種類によって適宜選択されるが、失活剤として炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液とチオ硫酸ナトリウム水溶液とを併用する方法が例示できる。また、前記失活剤を用いるかわりに、シリカゲルなどを充填したカラム処理等で酸化剤を除去することでクエンチング工程を代用してもよい。
以下に実施例及び比較例を挙げて本発明をさらに具体的に説明するが、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない限り適宜変更することができる。従って、本発明の範囲は以下に示す具体例により限定的に解釈されない。
実施例で記載した1H-NMRは、AVANCE-III 400MHz(BRUKER社製)で、重クロロホルムを溶媒として用い、TMS(テトラメチルシラン)を基準物質として用いて測定した。括弧内の値は積分比である。
数平均分子量は、下記条件によるポリスチレンを標準物質としたGPC(ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー)分析による値である。

試料注入量:50μL(濃度0.3質量%のTHF溶液)
動粘度はJIS Z 8803:2011に記載のキャノン-フェンスケ粘度計を用いて測定した25℃における測定値である。また、屈折率(nD)は、JIS K 0062:1992に記載のアッベ屈折計を用いて測定した25℃における測定値である。
<実施例1>
温度計、撹拌装置、還流冷却器及び窒素ガス導入管を備えた500mLセパラブルフラスコに、ヨードベンゼンジアセタート19.65g(1.5当量)、ジクロロメタン108.00g、及び下記式(8)で示されるカルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン100.00g(0.04mol)を仕込んだ後、窒素雰囲気下、25℃、撹拌状態で2,2,6,6-テトラメチルピペリジン N-オキシル0.32g(0.05当量)を投入し、23℃で4時間反応を行った。その後、炭酸水素ナトリウム飽和水溶液110.00g、チオ硫酸ナトリウム20%水溶液16.00gを加え30分撹拌後、有機層を分離し、低沸点物質を内温50℃で減圧留去した。最後にメタノール200.00gで2回洗浄することで淡黄色透明液体を得た。この生成物は、1H-NMRにより下記式(9)で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンであることを確認し、収率:92%、純度:100%、動粘度:38.7mm2/s、屈折率:1.4091、数平均分子量:4,100であった。式(9)で示される化合物の1H-NMRデータを以下に示す。

温度計、撹拌装置、還流冷却器及び窒素ガス導入管を備えた500mLセパラブルフラスコに、ヨードベンゼンジアセタート19.65g(1.5当量)、ジクロロメタン108.00g、及び下記式(8)で示されるカルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン100.00g(0.04mol)を仕込んだ後、窒素雰囲気下、25℃、撹拌状態で2,2,6,6-テトラメチルピペリジン N-オキシル0.32g(0.05当量)を投入し、23℃で4時間反応を行った。その後、炭酸水素ナトリウム飽和水溶液110.00g、チオ硫酸ナトリウム20%水溶液16.00gを加え30分撹拌後、有機層を分離し、低沸点物質を内温50℃で減圧留去した。最後にメタノール200.00gで2回洗浄することで淡黄色透明液体を得た。この生成物は、1H-NMRにより下記式(9)で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンであることを確認し、収率:92%、純度:100%、動粘度:38.7mm2/s、屈折率:1.4091、数平均分子量:4,100であった。式(9)で示される化合物の1H-NMRデータを以下に示す。

<実施例2>
上記実施例1で用いた、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(8)を、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(10)(0.04mol)に変更する以外は上記実施例1と同様の作業を行い、無色透明液体を得た。この生成物は、1H-NMRにより下記式(11)で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンであることを確認し、収率:90%、純度:100%、動粘度:54.3mm2/s、屈折率:1.4083、数平均分子量:4,300であった。式(11)で示される化合物の1H-NMRデータを以下に示す。

上記実施例1で用いた、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(8)を、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(10)(0.04mol)に変更する以外は上記実施例1と同様の作業を行い、無色透明液体を得た。この生成物は、1H-NMRにより下記式(11)で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンであることを確認し、収率:90%、純度:100%、動粘度:54.3mm2/s、屈折率:1.4083、数平均分子量:4,300であった。式(11)で示される化合物の1H-NMRデータを以下に示す。

<実施例3>
上記実施例1で用いた、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(8)を、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(12)(0.04mol)に変更する以外は上記実施例1と同様の作業を行い、無色透明液体を得た。この生成物は、1H-NMRにより下記式(13)で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンであることを確認し、収率:88%、純度:100%、動粘度:87.2mm2/s、屈折率:1.4077、数平均分子量:7,400であった。式(13)で示される化合物の1H-NMRデータを以下に示す。

上記実施例1で用いた、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(8)を、カルビノール変性(1級アルコール基含有)シリコーン(12)(0.04mol)に変更する以外は上記実施例1と同様の作業を行い、無色透明液体を得た。この生成物は、1H-NMRにより下記式(13)で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンであることを確認し、収率:88%、純度:100%、動粘度:87.2mm2/s、屈折率:1.4077、数平均分子量:7,400であった。式(13)で示される化合物の1H-NMRデータを以下に示す。

Claims (7)
- 下記式(1)
で示されるアルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法であって、下記式(7)
で示されるカルビノール変性シリコーンのヒドロキシメチル基を酸化することによって製造することを特徴とするアルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法。 - 酸化剤としてニトロキシルラジカル化合物を用いることを特徴とする、請求項4又は5に記載のアルデヒド変性シリコーンの製造方法。
