Definitions
- the present invention relates to a printing plate manufacturing method and a printing method.
- flexographic printing has been widely used as a method of printing on soft packaging materials such as paper and films.
- Plate materials for letterpress printing represented by flexographic printing include, for example, photosensitive resin plates.
- Examples of methods for producing a flexographic printing plate from a photosensitive resin plate include the following methods. First, the photosensitive resin composition layer is exposed to ultraviolet rays (referred to as back exposure) through the support to form a uniform photocurable layer. Next, relief exposure is performed from the back side, ie, the side of the uncured photosensitive resin composition layer opposite to the side exposed to ultraviolet rays, to obtain a flexographic printing original plate.
- ultraviolet rays referred to as back exposure
- relief exposure is performed from the back side, ie, the side of the uncured photosensitive resin composition layer opposite to the side exposed to ultraviolet rays, to obtain a flexographic printing original plate.
- a method of the relief exposure there is a method of exposing to ultraviolet rays through a transparent image carrier such as a negative film which selectively transmits ultraviolet rays, or a method of ablating an image, which has become digital information, with an infrared laser to remove an ultraviolet-transmitting portion.
- a method of exposing to ultraviolet rays through the formed thin layer and the like can be mentioned. Then, the photosensitive resin composition in the unexposed portion of the original flexographic printing plate is washed away with a developer to form a relief image, thereby obtaining a flexographic printing plate.
- the thermal development method in which the flexographic printing original plate after relief exposure is heated to melt the unexposed areas and remove the melted unexposed areas with a developing medium such as non-woven fabric, is developed without using a solvent. It is possible to develop it, and it is attracting attention.
- the thermal development method since the thermal development method does not dissolve or disperse the uncured resin in the solvent, it has poor developability and tends to leave residues as compared to the conventional developing method using a developer. , has a problem. Therefore, in the thermal development method, in order to improve the developability, it is necessary to strongly press the nonwoven fabric or the like, which is a development medium, against the flexographic printing original plate, or press it multiple times, and the thickness of the plate tends to decrease in the process. . Furthermore, as the size of the original flexographic printing plate increases, it becomes more difficult to press the developing medium against the entire original flexographic printing plate with uniform pressure, and the thickness uniformity of the finally obtained flexographic printing plate tends to be impaired.
- the inventors of the present invention have found that, in dry development processing, by combining a developing medium having specific physical properties with a photosensitive resin composition, the above problems of the prior art can be solved.

- Non-woven fabric refers to a web formed by bonding or entangling fibers by thermal, mechanical, or chemical action.
- the development medium used in the printing plate manufacturing method of the present embodiment has an elastic recovery rate of 30% or more and 99% or less. Pressure is applied to the development medium during the development process, but if the elastic recovery rate of the development medium is low, the development medium is excessively pressed against the unexposed areas due to the pressure, and the thickness of the finally obtained flexographic printing plate is reduced. Thickness uniformity tends to be impaired. This impairs image uniformity in printing. Since the elastic recovery rate of the development medium is within the above range, the contact area with the unexposed area is maintained appropriately, and the shape of the development medium is quickly restored in the process of weakening the pressure, resulting in a high porosity.
- the elastic recovery rate of the development medium should be 30% or more and 99% or less, preferably 35% or more and 99% or less, more preferably 40% or more and 99% or less, It is more preferably 60% or more and 99% or less, and in particular, by specifying 69% or more, excellent adsorption and removability are exhibited. - the inclusion of the ultrafine fiber layer enables the formation of a dense network structure, which dramatically improves the resin-carrying capacity. Since this resin-supporting ability also contributes to suppression of strike-through of the wiped-off photosensitive resin composition, it is possible to produce a stable flexographic printing plate.
- the elastic recovery rate of the entire wiper having a laminated structure is determined by the elastic recovery rate of the outermost surface layer, which tends to cause elastic change. Integration by thermal bonding is preferable from the viewpoint of forming a laminated nonwoven fabric without using a binder.
- Integration by thermal bonding can be performed, for example, by bonding using a press roll (flat roll or emboss roll) at a temperature 50 to 120° C. lower than the melting point of the synthetic resin and a linear pressure of 100 to 1000 N/cm. can.
- a linear pressure of 100 N/cm or more in the heat bonding step provides a sufficient bonding effect and a sufficient strength.

It is a method of crimping. This method is preferable when the purpose is to obtain a uniform nonwoven fabric with a low basis weight, because a laminated nonwoven fabric can be formed from the same material and can be produced on a continuously integrated production line. Specifically, one or more spunbond nonwoven fabric layers are spun on a conveyor using a thermoplastic resin, and a thermoplastic resin is used to melt-blown ultrafine fibers having a fiber diameter of 0.1 to 5 ⁇ m.

Abstract
