回転子鉄心32の外周部には、それぞれ軸方向に延びる複数のスロット(溝)50が形成され、円周方向に一定の間隔を置いて並んでいる。各スロット50は、回転子鉄心32を軸方向に貫通して延び、回転子鉄心の両端面に開口している。ロータバー52は各スロット50に挿通され、回転子鉄心32の軸方向に延在している。
図1および図3に示すように、第1冷却ファンFAは、遠心型のファンとして構成され、回転により半径方向に風を発生させる。第1冷却ファンFAは、ラッパ形状あるいは扇形状のファン本体70aを備えている。ファン本体70aは回転シャフト30に固定され、回転子鉄心32側から第1ブラケット19に向かって、かつ、径方向の外周側に広がりながら延出している。第1冷却ファンFAは、ファン本体70aの鉄心の側の内面に隙間を置いて対向配置された環状の内シュラウド70bと、ファン本体70aと内シュラウド70bとの間に設けられた複数枚の内ブレード80と、ファン本体70aの第1ブラケット19の側の外周面に隙間を置いて対向配置された環状の外シュラウド70cと、ファン本体70aと外シュラウド70cとの間に設けられた複数枚の外ブレード81と、を有している。
ファン本体70aに対して鉄心の側に位置する内ブレード80の中心軸線C1を中心とする外径Dd2は、ファン本体70aに対して外側、つまり、第1ブラケット19の側に位置する外ブレード81の中心軸線C1を中心とする外径Dd3よりも大きく設定されている。第1冷却ファンFAの各部の径は、Dd1>Dd2>Dd3>Rdの関係に設定されている。
ファン本体70aの外周面と外シュラウド70cの外周端部との間に、第1冷却ファンの外排気口82bが規定されている。外排気口82bは、径方向外方に向いて開口している。ファン本体70aの外周面と外シュラウド70cの内周端部との間に、第1冷却ファンFAの外吸気口84bが規定されている。外吸気口84bは、第1ブラケット19の第1通気孔23aの近傍に位置している。
ファン本体72aに対して鉄心側に位置する内ブレード86の中心軸線C1を中心とする外径Dd5は、ファン本体72aに対して外側、つまり、第2ブラケット20の側に位置する外ブレード88の中心軸線C1を中心とする外径Dd6よりも大きく設定されている。第1冷却ファンFAの各部の径は、Rd>Dd4>Dd5>Dd6の関係に設定されている。
ファン本体72aの外周面と外シュラウド72cの外周端部との間に、第2冷却ファンFBの外排気口85bが規定されている。外排気口85bは、径方向外方に向いて開口している。ファン本体72aの外周面と外シュラウド72cの内周端部との間に、第2冷却ファンFBの外吸気口87bが規定されている。外吸気口87bは、第2ブラケット20の第2通気孔23bの近傍に位置している。
通風ダクト40は、その軸方向のほぼ中間に形成され流路CHに連通する排気口44を有している。固定子14、支持フレーム12、および流路CHの軸方向の中心(中央)を中心軸線CCとした場合、排気口44は、軸方向の中心HCが中心軸線CCに対して軸方向にずれた位置に設けられている。本実施形態において、排気口44は、中心軸線CCに対して、径の小さい第2冷却ファンFBの側にずれ量D1だけ軸方向にずれて設けられている。
これにより、流路CHの第1端40aから中心HCまでの長さL1は、第2端40bから中心HCまでの長さL2よりも長い(L1>L2)。すなわち、径の小さい第2冷却ファンFBの側の流路CHは、径の大きい第1冷却ファンFAの側の流路CHよりも短く形成されている。
なお、排気口44の軸方向の幅およびずれ量D1は、流路CHを流れる冷却空気の流量に応じて任意に設定される。
図1に示すように、回転電機10の稼働時、第1冷却ファンFAおよび第2冷却ファンFBが回転子16と一体に回転される。第1冷却ファンFAが回転すると、外ブレード81により空気流が発生する。これにより、第1通気孔23aを通して外気が空間SA1に吸い込まれる。流入した外気は、第1冷却ファンの外吸気口84bから外ブレード81の間を通り外排気口82bから放射方向に流出する。流出した外気は第1拡散通風路AF1を通り、通風ダクト40の流路CHに流入し、流路CHに沿って流れた後、排気口44から機外に排気される。このように、外気に接触することにより、第1冷却ファンFA、第1端板34a、支持フレーム12、および固定子鉄心24が外気により冷却される。
同時に、第1冷却ファンFAが回転すると、内ブレード80より機内に空気流が発生する。空気流は、第1冷却ファンFAの内吸気口84aから内ブレード80の間を通り内排気口82aから放射方向に流出する。流出した内気はコイルエンド28eの周囲およびコイルエンド28eと固定子鉄心24との間の隙間を通り、第1冷却ファンFAの内吸気口84aに戻る。このように、コイルエンド28eの周囲に内気を循環させることにより、コイルエンド28eが冷却される。この際、循環する内気は、第1端板34aおよび支持フレーム12を介して、外気により冷却され温度が低下するため、コイルエンド28eの冷却に寄与する。
同時に、第2冷却ファンFBが回転すると、内ブレード86より機内に空気流が発生する。空気流は、第2冷却ファンFBの内吸気口87aから内ブレード86の間を通り内排気口85aから放射方向に流出する。流出した内気はコイルエンド28eの周囲およびコイルエンド28eと固定子鉄心24との間の隙間を通り、第2冷却ファンFBの内吸気口87aに戻る。このように、コイルエンド28eの周囲に内気を循環させることにより、コイルエンド28eが冷却される。この際、循環する内気は、第2端板34bおよび支持フレーム12を介して、外気により冷却され温度が低下するため、コイルエンド28eの冷却に寄与する。
以上のことから、第1実施形態によれば、固定子および回転子を軸方向の両側でバランスよく冷却し、冷却性の向上した回転電機を得ることができる。
なお、第1実施形態において、通風ダクトの排気口の形状、大きさは、実施形態に限定されることなく、種々変更可能である。排気口は1つに限らず、複数設けられていてもよい。
(第2実施形態)
図4は、第2実施形態に係る回転電機の一部を示す縦断面図である。
図示のように、第2実施形態によれば、通風ダクト40の流路CHに仕切り板46が配置されている。仕切り板46は、フレームの18の周面にほぼ垂直に立設され、排気口44の軸方向の中心HCと対向して配置されている。仕切り板46は、流路CHをその軸方向のほぼ中央部で左右に仕切っている。すなわち、仕切り板46により、流路CHは、第1端40aから排気口44まで延びる第1流路と、第2端40bから排気口44まで延びる第2流路とに仕切られている。
仕切り板46を設けることにより、通風ダクト40の第1端40aから排気口44に向かって流路CHを流れる冷却空気は仕切り板46に当って排気口44から排気される。第2端40bから排気口44に向かって流路CHはを流れる冷却空気は、仕切り板46に当って排気口44から排気される。すなわち、通風ダクト40の両端からそれぞれ排気口44に向かって流れる空気流同志が流路CH内で衝突することなく排気口44から機外に排気される。
なお、第2実施形態において、通風ダクト40の排気口44は、その中心HCが固定子14の軸方向の中心軸線CCと一致するように設けても良く、あるいは、中心HCが中心軸線CCから軸方向にずれて位置するように設けてもよい。
図5は、第3実施形態に係る回転電機の一部を示す縦断面図である。
図示のように、第3実施形態によれば、径の小さい第2冷却ファンFBの側で、支持フレーム12の内周面に複数のフィン90a、90b、90cが設けられている。フィン90a、90b、90cは、例えば、円環フィンであり、中心軸線C1と同軸的に配置され、支持フレーム12の内周面から中心軸線C1に向かって突出している。フィン90a、90b、90cは、軸方向に間隔を置いて設けられ、第2冷却ファンの内ブレード86および内シュラウド72bに間隔を置いて対向している。
これにより、径の異なる第1冷却ファンFAおよび第2冷却ファンFBが配置されている固定子鉄心24の軸方向の両側の機内(内気)冷却領域において、冷却性能のアンバランスを低減することが可能となる。
上記第3実施形態は、前述した第1実施形態、第2実施形態のいずれにも組み合わせることが可能である。
図6は、第4実施形態に係る回転電機の一部を示す縦断面図である。
図示のように、第4実施形態によれば、少なくとも径の小さい第2冷却ファンFBの内シュラウド72bは、吸気側の端部から径方向外方に延出した円環状のフランジ部72dを一体に有している。フランジ部72dは中心軸線C1と同軸的に設けられ、フランジ部72dの外径は、固定子鉄心24の内径Rdとほぼ等しい径に形成されている。
このようなフランジ部72dを追加することにより、第2冷却ファンの内排気口85aから流出し内シュラウド72bの近傍を短絡して内吸気口87aへ流入する短絡空気流を低減することができる。コイルエンド28eを通る内気循環空気流量を十分に確保し、熱抵抗の増加を防止することが可能となる。これにより、径の異なる第1冷却ファンFAおよび第2冷却ファンFBが配置されている固定子鉄心24の軸方向の両側の機内(内気)冷却領域において、冷却性能のアンバランスを低減することが可能となる。
なお、第1冷却ファンFAの内シュラウドにもフランジ部を追加した構成としもよい。
図7は、第5実施形態に係る回転電機の一部を示す縦断面図である。
図示のように、第5実施形態によれば、径の小さい第2冷却ファンFBの内シュラウド72bは、フランジ部72dに加えて、フランジ部72dの外周縁部から回転子鉄心32に向かって軸方向に延出する円筒状の延長部72eを一体に有している。延長部72eは、中心軸線C1と同軸的に設けられ、延長部72eの外径は、固定子鉄心24の内径Rdとほぼ等しい径に形成されている。
延長部72eを設けることにより、短絡空気流を一層、低減することができ、コイルエンド28eを通る内気循環空気流量を十分に確保し熱抵抗を小さくすることができる。これにより、径の異なる第1冷却ファンFAおよび第2冷却ファンFBが配置されている固定子鉄心24の軸方向の両側の機内(内気)冷却領域において、冷却性能のアンバランスをより小さくすることが可能となる。
上記第5実施形態は、前述した第1実施形態、第2実施形態、第3実施形態のいずれにも組み合わせることが可能である。
Claims (7)
- 中心軸線の回りで回転自在なシャフトと、前記シャフトに取り付けられた筒状の回転子鉄心と、を有する回転子と、
前記回転子鉄心の周囲にギャップを置いて配置された筒状の固定子鉄心と、前記固定子鉄心に取り付けられた固定子コイルと、を有する固定子と、
前記固定子および前記回転子を支持し、前記回転子および前記固定子を覆う外ケースと、
前記外ケースの内で前記回転子鉄心の軸方向の一端側に前記中心軸線の回りで回転自在に設けられ、前記固定子鉄心の内径よりも大きい最大径を有する第1冷却ファンと、
前記外ケースの内で前記回転子鉄心の軸方向の他端側に前記中心軸線の回りで回転自在に設けられ、前記固定子鉄心の内径よりも小さい最大径を有する第2冷却ファンと、
前記第1冷却ファンの側で前記外ケース内の空間に連通する第1端と前記第2冷却ファンの側で前記外ケース内に空間に連通する第2端とを有し前記固定子鉄心の外周に沿って前記軸方向に延びる流路と、前記第1端と前記第2端との間で前記流路に開放する排気口と、を有する通風ダクトと、を備え、前記排気口は、前記第1端と第2端との中間に対し前記第2端の側へ前記軸方向にずれて位置している
回転電機。 - 前記排気口に対向して前記流路に設けられた仕切り板を有し、前記流路は、前記仕切り板により、前記第1端から前記排気口まで延びる第1流路と、前記第2端から前記排気口まで延びる第2流路とに仕切られている請求項1に記載の回転電機。
- 前記外ケースの内面側に設けられ、前記第2冷却ファンに間隔を置いて対向した複数のフィンを備えている請求項1に記載の回転電機。
- 前記固定子コイルは、前記固定子鉄心の軸方向一端および軸方向他端からそれそれ延出するコイルエンドを有し、
前記第1冷却ファンは、前記シャフトに取り付けられたファン本体と、前記ファン本体に設けられ、前記固定子鉄心および回転子鉄心と前記外ケースとの間の空間において前記コイルエンドの周囲を循環する空気流を発生する複数枚の内ブレードと、前記内ブレードの延出端に固定された環状の内シュラウドと、を有し、
前記第2冷却ファンは、前記シャフトに取り付けられたファン本体と、前記ファン本体に設けられ、前記固定子鉄心と前記外ケースとの間の空間において前記コイルエンドの周囲を循環する空気流を発生する複数枚の内ブレードと、前記内ブレードの延出端に固定された環状の内シュラウドと、を有している請求項1に記載の回転電機。 - 前記第2冷却ファンの前記内シュラウドは、前記回転子鉄心の側の端から径方向外方に延出した環状のフランジ部を有し、前記フランジ部は、前記固定子鉄心の内径とほぼ等しい外径を有している請求項4に記載の回転電機。
- 前記第2冷却ファンの前記内シュラウドは、前記フランジ部の外周縁から前記回転子鉄心の近傍まで前記軸方向に延出した環状の延長部を更に備えている請求項5に記載の回転電機。
- 前記外ケースは、前記固定子鉄心を支持した筒状の支持フレームと、前記支持フレームの軸方向の一端に対向した第1端板と、前記支持フレームの軸方向の他端に対向した第2端板と、前記第1端板と隙間を置いて対向配置された第1ブラケットと、前記第2端板と隙間を置いて対向配置された第2ブラケットと、を具備し、
前記流路の前記第1端は、前記第1端板と前記第1ブラケットとの間の第1空間に連通し、前記流路の前記第2端は、前記第2端板と前記第2ブラケットとの間の第2空間に連通し、
前記第1冷却ファンは、前記第1ブラケットと前記回転子鉄心との間で前記シャフトに設けられたファン本体と、前記ファン本体に設けられ、前記第1空間を通して前記第1端から前記流路に流入する空気流を形成する複数枚の外ブレードと、を具備し、
前記第2冷却ファンは、前記第2ブラケットと前記回転子鉄心との間で前記シャフトに設けられたファン本体と、前記ファン本体に設けられ前記第2空間を通して前記第2端から前記流路に流入する空気流を形成する複数枚の外ブレードと、を具備している請求項1に記載の回転電機。
