Abstract
光学積層体1は、ガラス板2と、接合層3と、保護部材4とを厚み方向一方側に向かって順に備える。接合層3は、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面および保護部材4の厚み方向他方面と接触する。接合層3の厚みに対する、ナノインデンター法で測定される接合層3の弾性率の比が、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上である。保護部材4の厚みに対する、ナノインデンター法で測定される保護部材4の弾性率の比が、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上である。
Description
本発明は、光学積層体および画像表示装置に関する。
従来、カバーウインドウ材と、接着剤層と、保護部材とを備える光学積層体が画像表示装置に備えられることが知られている。
例えば、カバーウインドウ材としてのガラス板と、接着剤層と、保護部材としてのポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)フィルムとを備える光学積層体が提案されている(例えば、下記特許文献1参照。)。ガラス板は、光学特性に優れる一方、耐衝撃性が低い。耐衝撃性は、ガラス板が衝撃を受けたときに、ガラス板にクラックなどの損傷を抑制する性質である。
特許文献1では、ガラス板とPETフィルムとを接着剤層によって接合することによって、耐屈曲性を向上している。
しかし、特許文献1に記載の光学積層体では、ガラス板の損傷を抑制できないという不具合がある。
本発明は、耐衝撃性に優れる光学積層体および画像表示装置を提供する。
本発明(1)は、ガラス板と、接合層と、保護部材とを厚み方向一方側に向かって順に備え、前記接合層は、前記ガラス板の厚み方向一方面および前記保護部材の厚み方向他方面と接触し、前記接合層の厚みに対する、ナノインデンター法で測定される前記接合層の弾性率の比が、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上であり、前記保護部材の厚みに対する、ナノインデンター法で測定される前記保護部材の弾性率の比が、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上である、光学積層体を含む。
本発明(2)は、(1)に記載の光学積層体と、画像表示部材とを厚み方向一方側に向かって順に備える、画像表示装置を含む。
本発明の光学積層体では、接合層の厚みに対する、25℃における接合層の弾性率の比が、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上である。そのため、接合層の弾性率が高い場合(i-a)と、接合層が薄い場合(ii-a)とが想定される。接合層の弾性率が高い場合(i-a)には、ガラス板の損傷を十分に抑制できる。また、接合層が薄い場合(ii-a)には、外力が付与されたときのガラス板の厚み方向の変位量を小さくできることから、ガラス板の損傷を十分に抑制できる。そのため、この光学積層体は、耐衝撃性に優れる。
しかも、この光学積層体では、さらに、保護部材の厚みに対する、25℃における保護部材の弾性率の比が、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上である。そのため、保護部材の弾性率が高い場合(iii-a)と、保護部材が薄い場合(iv-a)とが想定される。保護部材の弾性率が高い場合(iii-a)には、ガラス板の損傷を十分に抑制できる。また、保護部材が薄い場合(iv-a)には、外力が付与されたときのガラス板の厚み方向の変位量を小さくできることから、やはり、ガラス板の損傷を十分に抑制できる。
従って、この光学積層体は、耐衝撃性に優れる。
本発明の画像表示装置は、耐衝撃性に優れる光学積層体を備えるので、耐衝撃性に優れる。
<光学積層体>
本発明の光学積層体の一実施形態を、図1を参照して説明する。

この光学積層体1は、例えば、厚み方向に直交する面方向に延びる平板形状を有する。光学積層体1は、ガラス板2と、接合層3と、保護部材4とを厚み方向一方側に向かって順に備える。好ましくは、この光学積層体1は、ガラス板2と、接合層3と、保護部材4とのみを備える。
<ガラス板>
ガラス板2は、面方向に延びる。ガラス板2は、光学積層体1における厚み方向他方面を形成する。ガラス板2の厚みは、例えば、15μm以上、好ましくは、30μm以上であり、また、例えば、150μm以下、好ましくは、100μm以下、より好ましくは、75μm以下である。ガラス板2の厚みが上記した上限以下であれば、ガラス板2は、薄ガラス板と称呼される。ガラス板2の全光線透過率は、例えば、80%以上、好ましくは、85%以上であり、また、例えば、95%以下である。ガラス板2の全光線透過率は、JIS K 7361-1に従って求められる。以降の各層も、上記と同様にして、全光線透過率が求められる。ガラス板2は、市販品を用いることができ、例えば、G-leafシリーズ(登録商標、日本電気硝子社製)を用いることができる。

<接合層>
接合層3は、面方向に延びる。接合層3は、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面に接触している。具体的には、接合層3は、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面の全部に接触する。接合層3は、例えば、接着剤層または粘着剤層である。

接着剤層は、硬化型接着剤の硬化体である。詳しくは、接着剤層は、トリガー(活性エネルギー線の照射や加熱など)に基づく硬化によって接着力が大きく上昇(接着性能を発現)する硬化型接着剤の硬化体である。
硬化型接着剤は、接着剤層の硬化原料であって、活性エネルギー硬化型、熱硬化型などが挙げられ、好ましくは、活性エネルギー硬化型が挙げられる。具体的には、硬化型接着剤としては、例えば、エポキシ系接着剤組成物、アクリル系接着剤組成物、シリコーン系接着剤組成物などが挙げられ、高い弾性率を得る観点から、エポキシ系接着剤組成物、アクリル系接着剤組成物が挙げられる。
エポキシ系接着剤組成物は、エポキシ樹脂を主剤として含む。エポキシ樹脂としては、例えば、2つのエポキシ基を含有する2官能エポキシ樹脂、3つ以上エポキシ基を含有する多官能エポキシ樹脂などが挙げられる。これらは、単独使用または2種以上併用できる。好ましくは、2官能エポキシ樹脂と多官能エポキシ樹脂との併用が挙げられる。
2官能エポキシ樹脂としては、例えば、ビスフェノール型エポキシ樹脂、ノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、ナフタレン型エポキシ樹脂、フルオレン型エポキシ樹脂、トリフェニルメタン型エポキシ樹脂などの芳香族系エポキシ樹脂、例えば、トリエポキシプロピルイソシアヌレート、ヒダントインエポキシ樹脂などの含窒素環エポキシ樹脂、さらには、脂肪族型エポキシ樹脂、グリシジルエーテル型エポキシ樹脂、グリシジルアミン型エポキシ樹脂が挙げられる。2官能エポキシ樹脂として、好ましくは、脂肪族型エポキシ樹脂が挙げられる。脂肪族型エポキシ樹脂は、脂肪族脂環式エポキシ樹脂を含む。2官能エポキシ樹脂のエポキシ当量は、例えば、100g/eq.以上、好ましくは、120g/eq.以上であり、また、例えば、250g/eq.以下、好ましくは、150g/eq.以下である。エポキシ樹脂における2官能エポキシ樹脂の割合は、例えば、80質量%以上、好ましくは、90質量%以上であり、また、例えば、99質量%以下、好ましくは、97質量%以下である。
多官能エポキシ樹脂としては、例えば、フェノールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、クレゾールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、トリスヒドロキシフェニルメタン型エポキシ樹脂、テトラフェニロールエタン型エポキシ樹脂、ジシクロペンタジエン型エポキシ樹脂、3官能脂肪族エポキシ樹脂などの3官能以上の多官能エポキシ樹脂が挙げられる。多官能エポキシ樹脂として、好ましくは、3官能脂肪族エポキシ樹脂が挙げられる。多官能エポキシ樹脂のエポキシ当量は、例えば、130g/eq.以上、好ましくは、150g/eq.以上であり、また、例えば、220g/eq.以下、好ましくは、200g/eq.以下である。エポキシ樹脂における多官能エポキシ樹脂の割合は、例えば、1質量%以上、好ましくは、3質量%以上であり、また、例えば、20質量%以下、好ましくは、10質量%以下である。
エポキシ系接着剤組成物におけるエポキシ樹脂の割合は、例えば、60質量%以上、好ましくは、75質量%以上であり、また、例えば、90質量%以下、好ましくは、80質量%以下である。
エポキシ樹脂は、市販品を用いることができ、脂肪族脂環式エポキシ樹脂として、セロキサイド2021P(ダイセル化学社製)、3官能脂肪族エポキシ樹脂として、EHPE3150(ダイセル化学社製)などが用いられる。
また、エポキシ系接着剤組成物は、活性エネルギー硬化型であれば、光酸発生剤を含む。光酸発生剤としては、例えば、トリアリールスルホニウム塩などが挙げられる。光酸発生剤は、市販品を用いることができ、トリアリールスルホニウム塩として、CPI101A(サンアフロ社製)などが用いられる。エポキシ系接着剤組成物における光酸発生剤の割合は、例えば、1質量%以上、好ましくは、10質量%以上であり、また、例えば、30質量%以下、好ましくは、20質量%以下である。
さらに、エポキシ系接着剤組成物は、例えば、オキセタン系樹脂、シランカップリング剤などの添加剤を適宜の割合で含むことができる。
オキセタン系樹脂としては、例えば、3-エチル-3-オキセタンメタノール、2―エチルヘキシルオキセタンなどの単官能オキセタン、例えば、キシリレンビスオキセタン、3―エチル―3{[(3―エチルオキセタン―3―イル)メトキシ]メチル}オキセタンなどの2官能オキセタンが挙げられる。オキセタン系樹脂は、市販品を用いることができ、アロンオキセタン(東亞合成社製)などが用いられる。
シランカップリング剤として、例えば、3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシランなどのエポキシ基含有シランカップリング剤などが挙げられる。シランカップリング剤は、市販品を用いることができ、KBMシリーズ(信越シリコーン社製)などが挙げられる。
アクリル系接着剤組成物は、例えば、官能基を含有する官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーと、共重合性モノマーとを含むモノマー成分の重合体を含む。
官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーは、官能基含有メタクリルエステルモノマーおよび/または官能基含有アクリルエステルモノマーである。(メタ)の定義および用法は、以下同様である。官能基としては、例えば、ヒドロキシル基、アミノ基、複素環基、ラクトン環基などが挙げられる。具体的には、官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーとしては、例えば、2-ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、3-ヒドロキシプロピル(メタ)アクリレート、4-ヒドロキシブチル(メタ)アクリレートなどのヒドロキシル基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマー、例えば、ジメチルアミノエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ジメチルアミノプロピル(メタ)アクリレート、ジエチルアミノエチル(メタ)アクリレートなどのアミノ基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマー、例えば、テトラヒドロフルフリル(メタ)アクリレート、グリシジル(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタメチルピペリジニル(メタ)アクリレート、テトラメチルピペリジニル(メタ)アクリレートなどの複素環基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマー、例えば、γ-ブチロラクトン(メタ)アクリレートモノマーなどのラクトン環基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーなどが挙げられる。好ましくは、ヒドロキシル基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーが挙げられる。モノマー成分における官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーの割合は、例えば、60質量%以上、好ましくは、70質量%以上であり、また、例えば、90質量%以下、好ましくは、80質量%以下である。
共重合性モノマーは、官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーと共重合可能なビニルモノマーである。共重合性モノマーとしては、(メタ)アクリロニトリルなどのシアノ基含有ビニルモノマー、例えば、(メタ)アクリルアミド、ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、ジメチルアミノプロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド、イソプロピル(メタ)アクリルアミド、ジエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、(メタ)アクリロイルモルホリンなどのアミド基含有ビニルモノマーなどが挙げられる。好ましくは、アミド基含有ビニルモノマーが挙げられる。なお、アミド基含有ビニルモノマーは、ヒドロキシル基を有してもよく、そのようなアミド基含有ビニルモノマーとしては、例えば、N-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-(2-ヒドロキシプロピル)(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-(1-ヒドロキシプロピル)(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-(3-ヒドロキシプロピル)(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-(2-ヒドロキシブチル)(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-(3-ヒドロキシブチル)(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-(4-ヒドロキシブチル)(メタ)アクリルアミドなどのヒドロキシアルキル(メタ)アクリルアミドが挙げられる。好ましくは、N-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)(メタ)アクリルアミドが挙げられる。モノマー成分における共重合性モノマーの割合は、例えば、10質量%以上、好ましくは、20質量%以上であり、また、例えば、40質量%以下、好ましくは、30質量%以下である。官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマー100質量部に対する共重合性モノマーの質量部数は、例えば、10質量部以上、好ましくは、20質量部以上であり、また、例えば、60質量部以下、好ましくは、40質量部以下である。
なお、アクリル系接着剤組成物は、光重合開始などの公知の重合開始剤を含むことができる。モノマー成分100質量部に対する重合開始剤の質量部数は、例えば、0.3質量部以上、3質量部以下である。
また、上記したアクリル系接着剤組成物は、例えば、特開2013-077006号公報などに説明される。
粘着剤層は、粘着力が経時的に実質的に変動しない。粘着剤層の材料は、粘着剤組成物である。粘着剤組成物は、特に限定されず、例えば、アクリル系粘着剤組成物、シリコーン系粘着剤組成物、ウレタン系粘着剤組成物、ビニルアルキルエーテル系粘着剤組成物、ポリアクリルアミド系粘着剤組成物などが挙げられる。好ましくは、アクリル系粘着剤組成物が挙げられる。アクリル系粘着剤組成物としては、アルキル(メタ)アクリレートおよび官能基含有ビニルモノマーを含有するモノマー成分の重合体(ベースポリマー)の架橋体が挙げられる。
アルキル(メタ)アクリレートとしては、直鎖状または分岐鎖状のアルキル基を有する。アルキル基の炭素数は、例えば、1以上、好ましくは、3以上であり、また、18以下、好ましくは、8以下である。好ましくは、メチル(メタ)アクリレート、エチル(メタ)アクリレート、プロピル(メタ)アクリレート、イソプロピル(メタ)アクリレート、ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソブチル(メタ)アクリレート、sec-ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、t-ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、ペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、ネオペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、ヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート、オクチル(メタ)アクリレート、2-エチルへキシル(メタ)アクリレート、イソオクチル(メタ)アクリレート、ノニル(メタ)アクリレート、デシル(メタ)アクリレートなどが挙げられる。さらに好ましくは、ブチル(メタ)アクリレートが挙げられる。
官能基含有ビニルビニルモノマーとしては、例えば、(メタ)アクリル酸、例えば、上記した官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーなどが挙げられる。これらは、単独使用または併用できる。好ましくは、(メタ)アクリル酸とヒドロキシル基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマーとの併用が挙げられる。
モノマー成分は、例えば、2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリルなどの重合開始剤の存在下で、重合される。
架橋される前の重合体(ベースポリマー)の重量平均分子量は、例えば、100,000以上、好ましくは、1,000,000であり、また、例えば、10,000,000以下、好ましくは、5,000,000以下である。重合体の重量平均分子量は、GPCによる標準ポリスチレン換算による。
架橋体は、架橋剤の添加およびその反応によって、得られる。架橋剤としては、例えば、イソシアネート架橋剤(トリレンジイソシアネートのトリメチロールプロパン変性体など)、シランカップリング剤(3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシランなどのエポキシ基含有シランカップリング剤など)などが挙げられる。これらは、単独使用または併用できる。架橋剤の質量部数は、重合体100質量部に対して、例えば、0.1質量部以上、また、例えば、2質量部以下である。
接合層3の全光線透過率は、例えば、80%以上、好ましくは、85%以上であり、また、例えば、95%以下である。
接合層3の厚みは、次に説明する接合層3の弾性率との比(後述する)を満足すれば、特に限定されない。接合層3の厚みは、接合層3が接着剤層である場合には、例えば、0.2μm以上、好ましくは、2μm以上であり、接合層3が粘着剤層である場合には、例えば、1μm以上、好ましくは、10μm以上である。また、接合層3の厚みは、例えば、100μm以下、好ましくは、50μm以下、より好ましくは、20μm以下である。
接合層3の弾性率は、上記した接合層3の厚みとの比(後述する)を満足すれば、特に限定されない。接合層3の弾性率は、例えば、5×105Pa以上、好ましくは、1×106Pa以上、より好ましくは、1×108Pa以上であり、また、例えば、1×1012Pa以下である。接合層3の弾性率は、ナノインデンター法で測定される。接合層3の弾性率は、25℃で測定される。接合層3の弾性率の具体的な測定方法は、後の実施例で記載するが、接合層3が接着剤層であれば、圧子の押込深さを100nmに設定し、接合層3が粘着剤層であれば、圧子の押込深さを1500nmに設定する。
接合層3の厚み(μm)に対する接合層3の弾性率(Pa)の比は、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上である。
対して、上記した比が1.0×104[Pa/μm]未満である場合を検討する。接合層3の弾性率が低い場合(i-b)と、接合層3が厚い場合(ii-b)とが想定される。
上記(i-b)であれば、接合層3が軟らかいため、接合層3に接触するガラス板2の損傷を抑制できない。
上記(ii-b)であれば、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量が大きくなり(大きく沈み込み)、そのため、外力が付与されたガラス板2の損傷を抑制できない。
従って、上記した比が1.0×104[Pa/μm]未満であれば、外力が付与されたガラス板2の損傷を抑制できない。
一方、上記した比が1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上であれば、接合層3が硬い場合(i-a)であるか、または、接合層3が薄い場合(ii-a)である。接合層3が硬い場合(i-a)であれば、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。接合層3が薄い場合(ii-a)であれば、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量を薄い接合層3によって小さくできる。つまり、ガラス板2の接合層3に対する沈み込みを抑制できる。そのため、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。従って、(i-a)と(ii-a)とのいずれの場合であっても、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。
接合層3の厚み(μm)に対する接合層3の弾性率(Pa)の比は、好ましくは、1.0×105[Pa/μm]以上、より好ましくは、1.0×106[Pa/μm]以上さらに好ましくは、1.0×107[Pa/μm]以上、とりわけ好ましくは、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上、さらには、1.0×109[Pa/μm]以上が好適である。上記した比が上記した下限以上であれば、ガラス板2の損傷をより一層十分に抑制できる。
なお、接合層3の厚み(μm)に対する接合層3の弾性率(Pa)の比の上限は、耐衝撃性の向上の観点から、限定されない。接合層3の厚み(μm)に対する接合層3の弾性率(Pa)の比の上限は、例えば、1.0×1015[Pa/μm]であり、また、1.0×1014[Pa/μm]である。
<保護部材>
保護部材4は、光学積層体1の厚み方向一方面を形成する。保護部材4は、接合層3に対するガラス板2の反対側に位置する。保護部材4は、面方向に延びる。保護部材4は、接合層3の厚み方向一方面に接触している。なお、保護部材4は、接合層3の厚み方向一方面の全部に接触している。これによって、接合層3は、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面、および、保護部材4の厚み方向他方面に接触する。接合層3は、ガラス板2と保護部材4とを接合している。つまり、保護部材4は、接合層3によって、ガラス板2に接合されている。
保護部材4は、光学積層体1の厚み方向一方面を形成する。保護部材4は、接合層3に対するガラス板2の反対側に位置する。保護部材4は、面方向に延びる。保護部材4は、接合層3の厚み方向一方面に接触している。なお、保護部材4は、接合層3の厚み方向一方面の全部に接触している。これによって、接合層3は、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面、および、保護部材4の厚み方向他方面に接触する。接合層3は、ガラス板2と保護部材4とを接合している。つまり、保護部材4は、接合層3によって、ガラス板2に接合されている。
保護部材4の材料は、特に限定されない。保護部材4の材料としては、例えば、アクリル樹脂が挙げられる。アクリル樹脂は、例えば、グルタルイミド単位および不飽和カルボン酸アルキルエステル単位を有する。アクリル樹脂は、具体的には、下記式(1)で表されるグルタルイミド単位、および、下記式(2)で表される不飽和カルボン酸アルキルエステル単位の構造単位を有する。
(式(1)中、R1およびR2はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子または炭素数1以上8以下のアルキル基を示す。R3は、炭素数1以上18以下のアルキル基、炭素数3以上12以下のシクロアルキル基、または、炭素数6以上10以下のアリール基を示す。)
(式(2)中、R4およびR5は、水素原子または炭素数1以上6以下のアルキル基を示す。)
式(1)中、R1およびR2で示される炭素数1以上8以下のアルキル基としては、例えば、メチル、エチル、プロピル、ブチル、ペンチル、ヘキシル、ヘプチル、オクチルなどが挙げられる。R1としては、好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。R2としては、好ましくは、水素原子が挙げられる。R3で示される炭素数1以上18以下のアルキル基としては、炭素数1以上8以下のアルキル基で例示したものの他に、ノニル、デシル、ドデシル、ウンデシル、トリデシル、テトラデシル、ペンタデシル、ヘキサデシル、ヘプタデシル、オクタデシルなどが挙げられる。炭素数3以上12以下のシクロアルキル基としては、例えば、シクロプロピル、シクロブチル、シクロペンチル、シクロヘキシル、シクロヘプチル、シクロオクチル、シクロデシルなどが挙げられる。炭素数6以上10以下のアリール基としては、例えば、フェニル、ナフチルなどが挙げられる。R3として、好ましくは、アルキル基、より好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。
式(1)中、R1およびR2で示される炭素数1以上8以下のアルキル基としては、例えば、メチル、エチル、プロピル、ブチル、ペンチル、ヘキシル、ヘプチル、オクチルなどが挙げられる。R1としては、好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。R2としては、好ましくは、水素原子が挙げられる。R3で示される炭素数1以上18以下のアルキル基としては、炭素数1以上8以下のアルキル基で例示したものの他に、ノニル、デシル、ドデシル、ウンデシル、トリデシル、テトラデシル、ペンタデシル、ヘキサデシル、ヘプタデシル、オクタデシルなどが挙げられる。炭素数3以上12以下のシクロアルキル基としては、例えば、シクロプロピル、シクロブチル、シクロペンチル、シクロヘキシル、シクロヘプチル、シクロオクチル、シクロデシルなどが挙げられる。炭素数6以上10以下のアリール基としては、例えば、フェニル、ナフチルなどが挙げられる。R3として、好ましくは、アルキル基、より好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。
式(2)中、R4として、好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。R5で示される炭素数1以上6以下のアルキル基としては、例えば、メチル、エチル、プロピル、ブチル、ペンチルなどが挙げられ、アルキル基として、好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。R5として、好ましくは、メチルが挙げられる。
アクリル樹脂におけるグルタルイミド単位の含有割合は、例えば、5モル%以上、であり、また、例えば、50モル%以下である。アクリル樹脂のイミド化率は、全カルボニル基中のイミドカルボニル基の占める割合であって、例えば、2.5%以上であり、また、例えば、7.5%以下である。アクリル樹脂における不飽和カルボン酸アルキルエステル単位の含有割合は、グルタルイミド単位の含有割合の残部であって、例えば、50モル%以上であり、また、例えば、95モル%以下である。アクリル樹脂の酸価は、例えば、0.10mmol/g以上、例えば、0.50mmol/g以下である。アクリル樹脂のガラス転移温度は、例えば、90℃以上、好ましくは、110℃以上であり、また、例えば、150℃以下、好ましくは、130℃以下である。上記した物性の定義および測定方法は、例えば、特開2017-26939号公報、特開2016-151696号公報などに詳述される。
アクリル樹脂は、上記以外の共重合可能な他のビニル系単量体単位を含有することができる。その他のビニル系単量体としては、例えば、スチレン、α-メチルスチレン、ビニルトルエン、ジビニルベンゼンなどのアルケニル芳香族単量体が挙げられる。
アクリル樹脂の製造方法は、例えば、特開2017-26939号公報、特開2016-151696号公報などに詳述される。
保護部材4の全光線透過率は、例えば、85%以上、好ましくは、88%以上、より好ましくは、90%以上であり、また、例えば、100%以下である。
保護部材4の厚みは、次に説明する保護部材4の弾性率との比(後述する)を満足すれば、特に限定されない。保護部材4の厚みは、例えば、1μm以上、好ましくは、10μm以上であり、また、例えば、100μm以下、好ましくは、50μm以下、より好ましくは、30μm以下である。
保護部材4の弾性率は、上記した保護部材4の厚みとの比(後述する)を満足すれば、特に限定されない。保護部材4の弾性率は、例えば、1×106Pa以上、好ましくは、1×107Pa以上、より好ましくは、1×109Pa以上、さらに好ましくは、2.5×109Pa以上、とりわけ好ましくは、5×109Pa以上、もっとも好ましくは、5.3×109Pa以上である。保護部材4の弾性率は、例えば、1×1014Pa以下、また、1×1013Pa以下、また、1×1012Pa以下、また、1×1011Pa以下である。保護部材4の弾性率は、ナノインデンター法で測定される。保護部材4の弾性率は、25℃で測定される。保護部材4の弾性率の具体的な測定方法は、後の実施例で記載する。
保護部材4の厚みに対する保護部材4の弾性率の比は、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上である。
対して、上記した比が1.0×108[Pa/μm]未満である場合を検討する。保護部材4の弾性率が低い場合(iii-b)と、保護部材4が厚い場合(iv-b)とが想定される。
上記(iii-b)であれば、保護部材4が軟らかいため、保護部材4の厚み方向一方側に配置されるガラス板2の損傷を抑制できない。
上記(iiv-b)であれば、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量が大きくなり(大きく沈み込み)、そのため、外力が付与されたガラス板2の損傷を抑制できない。
従って、上記した比が1.0×108[Pa/μm]未満であれば、(iii-b)および(iv-b)のいずれの場合であっても、外力が付与されたガラス板2の損傷を抑制できない。
対して、上記した比が1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上であれば、保護部材4が硬い場合(iii-a)であるか、または、保護部材4が薄い場合(iv-a)である。保護部材4が硬い場合(iii-a)であれば、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。保護部材4が薄い場合(iv-a)であれば、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量を薄い保護部材4によって小さくできる。つまり、ガラス板2の、ガラス板2と接合層3を介して厚み方向に隣接する保護部材4に対する沈み込みを抑制できる。そのため、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。従って、上記(iii-b)および(iv-b)のいずれの場合であっても、外力が付与されたガラス板2の損傷を抑制できる。
保護部材4の厚み(μm)に対する保護部材4の弾性率(Pa)の比は、好ましくは、1.5×108[Pa/μm]以上、より好ましくは、2.0×108[Pa/μm]以上さらに好ましくは、2.5×108[Pa/μm]以上である。上記した比が上記した下限以上であれば、外力が付与されたガラス板2の損傷をより一層十分に抑制できる。
なお、保護部材4の厚み(μm)に対する保護部材4の弾性率(Pa)の比の上限は、耐衝撃性の向上の観点から、限定されない。保護部材4の厚み(μm)に対する保護部材4の弾性率(Pa)の比の上限は、例えば、2.0×109[Pa/μm]であり、また、1.0×109[Pa/μm]である。
保護部材4の製造(作製)方法は、特に限定されない。例えば、押出装置、コーター、延伸装置および引取装置を備えるフィルム製造装置を用いて、保護部材4の材料などから、保護部材4を形成する。具体的には、フィルム製造装置を用いて、アクリル樹脂のペレットから、保護部材4を作製する。
<光学積層体の製造方法>

図1が参照されるように、この方法では、例えば、接合層3を接着剤層として形成する場合には、まず、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面に、硬化型接着剤を配置(塗布)する。その後、保護部材4の厚み方向他方面を硬化型接着剤に接触させる。または、まず、保護部材4の厚み方向他方面に、硬化型接着剤を配置(塗布)する。その後、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面を硬化型接着剤に接触させる。これにより、ガラス板2および保護部材4で、硬化型接着剤を挟み込む。
その後、硬化型接着剤を硬化させる。硬化型接着剤が活性エネルギー硬化型であれば、紫外線などの活性エネルギーを硬化型接着剤に照射する。具体的には、紫外線を、例えば、ガラス板2側または保護部材4側から、好ましくは、ガラス板2側から、硬化型接着剤に照射する。硬化型接着剤が熱硬化型であれば、硬化型接着剤を加熱する。これにより、ガラス板2および保護部材4を強固に接着する接合層3を形成する。
一方、接合層3を粘着剤層として形成する場合には、まず、例えば、図示しない剥離シートの表面に、粘着剤組成物および溶媒を含有するワニスを塗布する。溶媒は、特に限定されず、例えば、酢酸エチルなどのエステル系溶媒が挙げられる。ワニスにおける固形分濃度は、特に限定されず、例えば、10質量%以上であり、また、例えば、90質量%以下である。その後、ワニスを加熱により乾燥させる。これにより、粘着剤層を剥離シートの表面に形成する。
その後、粘着剤層を剥離シートからガラス板2に転写する。その後、保護部材4を粘着剤層に貼り合わせる。
または、粘着剤層を剥離シートから保護部材4に転写する。その後、ガラス板2を粘着剤層に貼り合わせる。
これにより、ガラス板2および保護部材4で、粘着剤層を挟み込む。
または、上記した粘着剤層のガラス板2または保護部材4への転写に代えて、ワニスをガラス板2の厚み方向一方面、または、保護部材4の厚み方向他方面に直接塗布する。これにより、粘着剤層をガラス板2または保護部材4に直接形成する。ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面に形成された粘着剤層に対して、保護部材4を貼り合わせる。または、保護部材4の厚み方向他方面に形成された粘着剤層に対して、ガラス板2を貼り合わせる。
<光学積層体の用途>
光学積層体1は、各種光学用途に用いられ、例えば、有機エレクトロルミネセンス表示装置(以下、単に「有機EL表示装置」と略称する。)などの画像表示装置に備えられる。

次に、光学積層体1を備える有機EL表示装置10を、図3を参照して説明する。
<有機EL表示装置>
有機EL表示装置10は、面方向に延びる平板形状を有する。また、有機EL表示装置10は、次に説明する導電性フィルム13を備えることから、タッチパネル型入力表示装置として機能する。有機EL表示装置10は、光学積層体1と、隠蔽層11と、偏光子6と、光学補償層7と、第1粘着剤層12と、導電性フィルム13と、第2粘着剤層14と、画像表示部材15とを備える。なお、この有機EL表示装置10では、紙面上側が、ユーザの視認側であって、表側(図1の厚み方向他方側に相当)であり、紙面下側が、裏側(図1の厚み方向一方側に相当)である。この有機EL表示装置10では、光学積層体1と、偏光子6と、光学補償層7と、第1粘着剤層12と、導電性フィルム13と、第2粘着剤層14と、画像表示部材15とが、裏側に向かって順に配置される。
有機EL表示装置10は、面方向に延びる平板形状を有する。また、有機EL表示装置10は、次に説明する導電性フィルム13を備えることから、タッチパネル型入力表示装置として機能する。有機EL表示装置10は、光学積層体1と、隠蔽層11と、偏光子6と、光学補償層7と、第1粘着剤層12と、導電性フィルム13と、第2粘着剤層14と、画像表示部材15とを備える。なお、この有機EL表示装置10では、紙面上側が、ユーザの視認側であって、表側(図1の厚み方向他方側に相当)であり、紙面下側が、裏側(図1の厚み方向一方側に相当)である。この有機EL表示装置10では、光学積層体1と、偏光子6と、光学補償層7と、第1粘着剤層12と、導電性フィルム13と、第2粘着剤層14と、画像表示部材15とが、裏側に向かって順に配置される。
<保護部材4>
光学積層体1における保護部材4は、偏光子6の表面に配置されている。そのため、保護部材4は、偏光子保護フィルムとして機能する。この場合には、保護部材4は、次に説明する偏光子6を表側から保護する。

<偏光子保護フィルム>
保護部材4が偏光子保護フィルムとして機能する場合、偏光子保護フィルムは、偏光子6を厚み方向他方側から保護する。偏光子保護フィルムは、等方性を有する。偏光子保護フィルムの材料は、例えば、アクリル樹脂が挙げられる。アクリル樹脂としては、好ましくは、高い機械強度を得る観点から、ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル樹脂が挙げられる。ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル樹脂は、例えば、特開2000-230016号公報、特開2001-151814号公報、特開2002-120326号公報、特開2002-254544号公報、特開2005-146084号公報、特開2008-170717号公報、特開2017-102443号公報などに記載される。偏光子保護フィルムの厚みは、例えば、10μm以上であり、また、例えば、60μm以下、好ましくは、55μm以下、より好ましくは、50μm以下である。
保護部材4が偏光子保護フィルムとして機能する場合、偏光子保護フィルムは、偏光子6を厚み方向他方側から保護する。偏光子保護フィルムは、等方性を有する。偏光子保護フィルムの材料は、例えば、アクリル樹脂が挙げられる。アクリル樹脂としては、好ましくは、高い機械強度を得る観点から、ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル樹脂が挙げられる。ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル樹脂は、例えば、特開2000-230016号公報、特開2001-151814号公報、特開2002-120326号公報、特開2002-254544号公報、特開2005-146084号公報、特開2008-170717号公報、特開2017-102443号公報などに記載される。偏光子保護フィルムの厚みは、例えば、10μm以上であり、また、例えば、60μm以下、好ましくは、55μm以下、より好ましくは、50μm以下である。
<隠蔽層>
隠蔽層11は、光学積層体1に設けられている。隠蔽層11は、具体的には、ガラス板2の裏面における周縁部に配置(具体的には、印刷)されている。隠蔽層11は、平面視において、後述する導電層16の引出し配線部19を包含するパターンを有する。隠蔽層11の材料としては、例えば、黒色成分および樹脂を含む組成物などが挙げられる。隠蔽層11の全光線透過率は、例えば、10%以下、好ましくは、5%以下である。隠蔽層11は、有機EL表示装置10において、ユーザが表側から引出し配線部19を視認することを避ける層である。これによって、有機EL表示装置10は、厚み方向に投影したときに、隠蔽層11と重複する非表示領域25と、隠蔽層11と重複せず、導電層16のセンサ電極部18と重複する表示領域26とを含む。

<偏光子>
偏光子6は、保護部材4の裏面に配置されている。偏光子6は、面方向に延びる。偏光子6は、保護部材4の裏面の全部に接触している。偏光子6としては、例えば、PVAフィルムなどの親水性フィルムを染色処理および延伸処理されたフィルムや、親水性フィルムを脱水処理したフィルム、ポリ塩化ビニルフィルムを脱塩酸処理したフィルムなどが挙げられる。偏光子6の厚みは、例えば、1μm以上、好ましくは、3μm以上であり、また、例えば、15μm以下、好ましくは、10μm以下である。偏光子6の物性などは、例えば、特開2016-151696号公報、特開2017-102443号公報などに記載される。
偏光子6は、保護部材4の裏面に配置されている。偏光子6は、面方向に延びる。偏光子6は、保護部材4の裏面の全部に接触している。偏光子6としては、例えば、PVAフィルムなどの親水性フィルムを染色処理および延伸処理されたフィルムや、親水性フィルムを脱水処理したフィルム、ポリ塩化ビニルフィルムを脱塩酸処理したフィルムなどが挙げられる。偏光子6の厚みは、例えば、1μm以上、好ましくは、3μm以上であり、また、例えば、15μm以下、好ましくは、10μm以下である。偏光子6の物性などは、例えば、特開2016-151696号公報、特開2017-102443号公報などに記載される。
<光学補償層>
光学補償層7は、偏光子6の裏面に配置されている。光学補償層7は、面方向に延びる。光学補償層7は、偏光子6の裏面の全部に接触している。光学補償層7は、例えば、位相差フィルムであって、具体的には、λ/4板として機能する。これによって、偏光子6および光学補償層7から構成される偏光フィルムが、円偏光性を有する。光学補償層7の材料としては、例えば、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリビニルアセタール樹脂、シクロオレフィン樹脂、アクリル樹脂、セルロースエステル樹脂などが挙げられる。好ましくは、ポリカーボネート樹脂である。ポリカーボネート樹脂としては、例えば、フルオレン系ジヒドロキシ化合物に由来する構造単位と、イソソルビド系ジヒドロキシ化合物に由来する構造単位と、脂環式ジオール、脂環式ジメタノール、ジ、トリまたはポリエチレングリコール、ならびに、アルキレングリコールまたはスピログリコールからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのジヒドロキシ化合物に由来する構造単位と、を含む。光学補償層7の組成、物性、製造方法などは、例えば、特開2017-102443号公報に詳述される。
光学補償層7は、偏光子6の裏面に配置されている。光学補償層7は、面方向に延びる。光学補償層7は、偏光子6の裏面の全部に接触している。光学補償層7は、例えば、位相差フィルムであって、具体的には、λ/4板として機能する。これによって、偏光子6および光学補償層7から構成される偏光フィルムが、円偏光性を有する。光学補償層7の材料としては、例えば、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリビニルアセタール樹脂、シクロオレフィン樹脂、アクリル樹脂、セルロースエステル樹脂などが挙げられる。好ましくは、ポリカーボネート樹脂である。ポリカーボネート樹脂としては、例えば、フルオレン系ジヒドロキシ化合物に由来する構造単位と、イソソルビド系ジヒドロキシ化合物に由来する構造単位と、脂環式ジオール、脂環式ジメタノール、ジ、トリまたはポリエチレングリコール、ならびに、アルキレングリコールまたはスピログリコールからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのジヒドロキシ化合物に由来する構造単位と、を含む。光学補償層7の組成、物性、製造方法などは、例えば、特開2017-102443号公報に詳述される。
また、光学補償層7は、積層体であってもよく、図示しないが、例えば、第1の液晶配向層と、第2の液晶配向層とを、裏側に向かって順に備える。
第1の液晶配向固化層は、具体的には、λ/2板として機能する。波長550nmの光で測定したときの第1の液晶配向固化層の面内位相差Re(550)は、例えば、180nm~320nmである。第1の液晶配向固化層の屈折率は、例えば、nx>ny=nzの関係を示す。nxは、面内方向における遅相軸方向の屈折率である。nyは、面内方向における進相軸方向の屈折率である。nzは、厚み方向の屈折率である。第1の液晶配向固化層の遅相軸と偏光子6の吸収軸とのなす角度は、例えば、10°~20°である。第1の液晶配向固化層の厚みは、例えば、0.05μm以上、また、例えば、7μm以下である。第1の液晶配向固化層は、例えば、棒状の液晶材料が所定の方向に並んだ状態で配向している。液晶材料の配向方向に遅相軸が発現する。液晶材料としては、例えば、液晶ポリマーや液晶モノマーが挙げられる。第1の液晶配向固化層を形成するには、所定の基材の表面に配向処理を施し、当該表面に液晶材料を含む塗布液を塗布して当該液晶材料を上記配向処理に対応する方向に配向させ、当該配向状態を固定する。
第2の液晶配向固化層は、例えば、λ/4板として機能する。第1の液晶配向固化層がλ/2板として機能し、第2の液晶配向固化層がλ/4板として機能することにより、光学補償層7は、優れた円偏光特性を有する。波長550nmの光で測定したときの第2の液晶配向固化層の面内位相差Re(550)は、例えば、100nm~180nmである。第2の液晶配向固化層の屈折率は、例えば、nx>ny=nzの関係を示す。第2の液晶配向固化層の遅相軸と偏光子6の吸収軸とのなす角度は、例えば、65°~85°である。第2の液晶配向固化層の厚みは、例えば、0.5μm以上、2μm以下である。第2の液晶配向固化層の材料、特性、製造方法等は、第1の液晶配向固化層のそれらと同様である。
上記した第1および第2の液晶配向固化層からなる積層体は、例えば、特開2017-102443号公報などに記載される。
<第2の光学積層体>
偏光子6と、光学補償層7とは、第2の光学積層体8を構成する。第2の光学積層体8は、偏光子6と、光学補償層7とを、裏側に向かって順に備える。第2の光学積層体8は、光学積層体1の裏側に配置されている。第2の光学積層体8は、例えば、特開2017-102443号公報に詳述される。第2の光学積層体8の全光線透過率は、例えば、80%以上、好ましくは、85%以上であり、また、例えば、95%以下である。第2の光学積層体8の厚みは、例えば、10μm以上、好ましくは、30μm以上であり、また、例えば、70μm以下であり、好ましくは、65μm以下である。

<第1粘着剤層>

導電層16は、所定パターンを有する。導電層16の表面および側面は、第1粘着剤層12に接触する。導電層16の材料としては、例えば、金属酸化物、導電性繊維(繊維)、金属などが挙げられる。金属酸化物としては、例えば、インジウム亜鉛複合酸化物(IZO)、インジウムガリウム亜鉛複合酸化物(IGZO)、インジウムガリウム複合酸化物(IGO)、インジウムスズ複合酸化物(ITO)、アンチモンスズ複合酸化物(ATO)などの複合酸化物などが挙げられる。導電性繊維としては、例えば、金属ナノワイヤ、カーボンナノチューブなどが挙げられる。金属としては、例えば、金、白金、銀、銅などが挙げられる。導電層16は、面方向中央部に位置するセンサ電極部18と、センサ電極部18に周辺に位置する引出し配線部19とを一体的に有する。導電層16の詳細は、例えば、特開2017-102443号公報、特開2014-113705号公報、特開2014-219667号公報などに記載される。

<基材層>
基材層17は、導電層16の裏面、および、第1粘着剤層12の裏面に配置されている。基材層17は、面方向に延びる。基材層17は、例えば、樹脂層である。基材層17の材料としては、例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、シクロオレフィンポリマー(COP)などのオレフィン樹脂、例えば、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレートなどのポリエステル樹脂、例えば、ポリ(メタ)アクリレートなどの(メタ)アクリル樹脂、例えば、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリエーテルスルフォン樹脂、ポリアリレート樹脂、メラミン樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、セルロース樹脂、ポリスチレン樹脂などの樹脂が挙げられる。基材層17の詳細は、例えば、特開2018-181722号公報などに記載される。
基材層17は、導電層16の裏面、および、第1粘着剤層12の裏面に配置されている。基材層17は、面方向に延びる。基材層17は、例えば、樹脂層である。基材層17の材料としては、例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、シクロオレフィンポリマー(COP)などのオレフィン樹脂、例えば、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレートなどのポリエステル樹脂、例えば、ポリ(メタ)アクリレートなどの(メタ)アクリル樹脂、例えば、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリエーテルスルフォン樹脂、ポリアリレート樹脂、メラミン樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、セルロース樹脂、ポリスチレン樹脂などの樹脂が挙げられる。基材層17の詳細は、例えば、特開2018-181722号公報などに記載される。
<第2粘着剤層>
第2粘着剤層14は、導電性フィルム13の裏面に配置されている。具体的には、第2粘着剤層14は、導電性フィルム13の裏面の全部に接触している。第2粘着剤層14の材料は、第1粘着剤層12の材料と同様である。

<画像表示部材>
画像表示部材15は、有機EL表示装置10の裏面を形成する。画像表示部材15は、導電性フィルム13の裏側に第2粘着剤層14を介して配置されている。画像表示部材15は、面方向に延びる。画像表示部材15は、具体的には、有機EL素子である。例えば、画像表示部材15は、図示しないが、表示基板と、2つの電極と、2つの電極に挟まれる有機EL層と、封止層とを含む。なお、画像表示部材15の構成、物性などは、例えば、特開2018-28573号公報に詳述される。
画像表示部材15は、有機EL表示装置10の裏面を形成する。画像表示部材15は、導電性フィルム13の裏側に第2粘着剤層14を介して配置されている。画像表示部材15は、面方向に延びる。画像表示部材15は、具体的には、有機EL素子である。例えば、画像表示部材15は、図示しないが、表示基板と、2つの電極と、2つの電極に挟まれる有機EL層と、封止層とを含む。なお、画像表示部材15の構成、物性などは、例えば、特開2018-28573号公報に詳述される。
<一実施形態の作用効果>
この光学積層体1では、接合層3の厚みに対する、25℃における接合層3の弾性率の比が、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上である。そのため、接合層3の弾性率が高い場合(i-a)と、接合層3が薄い場合(ii-a)とが想定される。接合層3の弾性率が高い場合(i-a)には、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。また、接合層3が薄い場合(ii-a)には、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量を小さくできる(ガラス板2の接合層3に対する沈み込みを抑制できる)ことから、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。そのため、この光学積層体は、耐衝撃性に優れる。
この光学積層体1では、接合層3の厚みに対する、25℃における接合層3の弾性率の比が、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上である。そのため、接合層3の弾性率が高い場合(i-a)と、接合層3が薄い場合(ii-a)とが想定される。接合層3の弾性率が高い場合(i-a)には、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。また、接合層3が薄い場合(ii-a)には、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量を小さくできる(ガラス板2の接合層3に対する沈み込みを抑制できる)ことから、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。そのため、この光学積層体は、耐衝撃性に優れる。
しかも、この光学積層体1では、さらに、保護部材4の厚みに対する、25℃における保護部材4の弾性率の比が、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上である。そのため、保護部材4の弾性率が高い場合(iii-a)と、保護部材4が薄い場合(iv-a)とが想定される。保護部材4の弾性率が高い場合(iii-a)には、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。また、保護部材4が薄い場合(iv-a)には、外力が付与されたときのガラス板2の厚み方向の変位量を小さくできる(ガラス板2の保護部材4に対する沈み込みを抑制できる)ことから、やはり、ガラス板2の損傷を十分に抑制できる。
従って、この光学積層体1は、耐衝撃性に優れる。
ただし、本発明では、接合層3における厚み対する弾性率の比と、保護部材4における厚み対する弾性率の比とが、それぞれ、それらの下限以上であることによって、光学積層体1の耐衝撃性が優れる。つまり、接合層3における厚み対する弾性率の比、および、保護部材4における厚み対する弾性率の比のいずれか一方でも、それらの下限を下回れば、上記した優れた衝撃性を得ることができない。
この有機EL表示装置10は、耐衝撃性に優れる光学積層体1を備えるので、耐衝撃性に優れる。
<光学積層体の耐衝撃性の評価>
光学積層体1の耐衝撃性は、例えば、下記のペンドロップ試験によって評価される。

<ペンドロップ試験>
図1の仮想線で示すように、ガラス板2が上側を向き、保護部材4が下側を向くようにして、光学積層体1を第2ガラス板35の上面に置く。第2ガラス板35は、ステンレス板36の上面に配置されている。第2ガラス板35の厚みは、1.1mmである。ステンレス板36の厚みは、5cmである。また、図2に示すように、ガラス板2(図1参照)の上面の中央部の周部に、金属製の治具29を配置する。治具29の中央部には、厚み方向を貫通する開口が設けられている。ガラス板2(図1参照)の中央部は、治具29の開口から露出する。さらに、治具29の上面にガイド30を立てる。ガイド30は、第1板31と、第2板32とを備える。第1板31と第2板32とは、いずれも、鉛直方向に延びる。第1板31と第2板32とは、平面視略L形状に配置される。第1板31の一の横辺34は、第2板32の一の横辺45と接触する。第1板31には、図示しない物差しが設けられている。
図1の仮想線で示すように、ガラス板2が上側を向き、保護部材4が下側を向くようにして、光学積層体1を第2ガラス板35の上面に置く。第2ガラス板35は、ステンレス板36の上面に配置されている。第2ガラス板35の厚みは、1.1mmである。ステンレス板36の厚みは、5cmである。また、図2に示すように、ガラス板2(図1参照)の上面の中央部の周部に、金属製の治具29を配置する。治具29の中央部には、厚み方向を貫通する開口が設けられている。ガラス板2(図1参照)の中央部は、治具29の開口から露出する。さらに、治具29の上面にガイド30を立てる。ガイド30は、第1板31と、第2板32とを備える。第1板31と第2板32とは、いずれも、鉛直方向に延びる。第1板31と第2板32とは、平面視略L形状に配置される。第1板31の一の横辺34は、第2板32の一の横辺45と接触する。第1板31には、図示しない物差しが設けられている。
次いで、任意の高さでペン28を落下させるペンドロップ試験を実施する。ペン28の質量は、10gである。ペン28は、第1板31と第2板32とに接触させた状態から、ガラス板2に向かって落下する。上記した高さHは、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面と、ペン28の先端部33との距離である。距離は、第1板31の物差しによって測定される。先端部33は、下側を向き、尖っている。この光学積層体1では、上記したペンドロップ試験で、ガラス板2が割れるまで、ペン28の落下高さHを段階的に上げる。ガラス板2に割れが確認できたときの高さHを、ペンドロップ試験における高さとして取得する。なお、ガラス板2の割れは、ルーペを用いる目視によって、確認される。光学積層体1のペンドロップ試験の高さHが高ければ、耐衝撃性に優れることを意味する。
この光学積層体1のペンドロップ試験の高さHは、例えば、330mm以上、好ましくは、350mm以上、より好ましくは、400mm以上、さらに好ましくは、400mm以上である。光学積層体1のペンドロップ試験の高さHの上限は、特に限定されず、例えば、10,000mmである。
なお、この光学積層体1は、面方向に間隔を隔てて対向する2つの辺の間を中心にして折り曲げ可能(bendable)に構成され、より好ましくは、折り畳み可能(foldable)である。
<変形例>

一実施形態では、第2の光学積層体8は、偏光子6と、光学補償層7との2層を備えるが、第2の光学積層体8の層数は、限定されず、単層、3層、4層以上でもよい。
具体的には、図4に示すように、第2の光学積層体8は、さらに、第2保護部材38と、第3粘着剤層39とを備える。第2の光学積層体8では、第3粘着剤層39と、第2保護部材38と、偏光子6と、光学補償層7とが、裏側に向かって順に備えられる。
第2保護部材38は、偏光子6の表面に配置されている。第2保護部材38は、面方向に延びる。第2保護部材38は、偏光子6の表面の全部に接触している。第2保護部材38は、偏光子保護フィルムとして機能する。この場合には、第2保護部材38は、偏光子6を表側から保護する。第2保護部材38の材料は、特に限定されず、例えば、保護部材4で例示した材料が挙げられる。第2保護部材38の厚みは、特に限定されず、例えば、1μm以上であり、また、例えば、100μm以下である。
第3粘着剤層39は、第2保護部材38の表面に配置されている。第3粘着剤層39は、面方向に延びる。第3粘着剤層39は、第2保護部材38の表面の全部に接触している。第3粘着剤層39は、保護部材4の裏面の全部に接触している。第3粘着剤層39は、第2保護部材38を保護部材4に粘着している。第3粘着剤層39の材料は、特に限定されず、例えば、接合層3の粘着剤層で例示した材料、または、第1粘着剤層12で例示した材料が挙げられる。第3粘着剤層39の厚みは、特に限定されず、例えば、1μm以上であり、また、例えば、100μm以下である。
図5に示すように、有機EL表示装置10は、第2の光学積層体8を備えない。保護部材4は、第1粘着剤層12の表面の全部に接触している。
図6に示すように、有機EL表示装置10は、第2の光学積層体8と、第1粘着剤層12と、導電性フィルム13と、第2粘着剤層14とを備えない。有機EL表示装置10は、光学積層体1と、画像表示部材15とを裏側に向かって順に備える。画像表示部材15は、保護部材4の裏面の全部に接触している。
また、保護部材4は、コーティング層(または塗布層)であってもよい。この場合には、図3が参照されるように、偏光子6の表面に、保護部材4の材料を含むワニスを塗布し、その後、乾燥させて、コーティング層である保護部材4を形成する。
図1および図3~図6に示すように、光学積層体1は、ガラス板2の厚み方向他方面(裏面)に配置される飛散防止フィルム37をさらに備えてよい。
図示しないが、第2の光学積層体8は、偏光子6と光学補償層7との間に介在する第2接着剤層をさらに備えることができる。第2接着剤層の材料は、例えば、上記した接合層3の接着剤層の材料と同一である。第2接着剤層の厚みは、例えば、0.1μm以上、また、例えば、2μm以下である。
以下の記載において用いられる配合割合(含有割合)、物性値、パラメータなどの具体的数値は、上記の「発明を実施するための形態」において記載されている、それらに対応する配合割合(含有割合)、物性値、パラメータなど該当記載の上限値(「以下」、「未満」として定義されている数値)または下限値(「以上」、「超過」として定義されている数値)に代替することができる。また、以下の記載において特に言及がない限り、「部」および「%」は質量基準である。
実施例1
<保護部材の作製>
押出装置、グラビアコーター、テンター式同時二軸延伸装置、および、引取装置を備えるフィルム製造装置を用いて、光学部材を作製した。材料として、特開2017-26939号に実施例1に記載の「透明保護フィルム1A」の材料であるアクリル樹脂(イミド化メタアクリル酸メチル-スチレン共重合体、ガラス転移温度:120℃)からなるペレットを用いた。アクリル樹脂を溶融押出製膜装置で押出して、フィルムを製膜し、温度140℃の加熱炉内で同時二軸延伸テンターにより搬送(機械)方向(MD)および幅方向(TD)にそれぞれ2倍にフィルムを延伸して、厚み40μmの保護部材4を作製した。
<保護部材の作製>

<エポキシ系接着剤組成物の調製>
脂肪族脂環式エポキシ樹脂(セロキサイド2021P、エポキシ当量128~133g/eq.、ダイセル化学社製)70質量部、3官能脂肪族エポキシ樹脂(EHPE3150、エポキシ当量170~190g/eq.、ダイセル化学社製)5質量部、オキセタン系樹脂(アロンオキセタン、東亜合成社製)19質量部、シランカップリング剤(KBM-403、3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、信越化学工業社製)4質量部、光酸発生剤(CPI101A、トリアリールスルホニウム塩、サンアフロ社製)2質量部を配合して、エポキシ系接着剤組成物を調製した。エポキシ系接着剤組成物は、接合層3の硬化原料である。
脂肪族脂環式エポキシ樹脂(セロキサイド2021P、エポキシ当量128~133g/eq.、ダイセル化学社製)70質量部、3官能脂肪族エポキシ樹脂(EHPE3150、エポキシ当量170~190g/eq.、ダイセル化学社製)5質量部、オキセタン系樹脂(アロンオキセタン、東亜合成社製)19質量部、シランカップリング剤(KBM-403、3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、信越化学工業社製)4質量部、光酸発生剤(CPI101A、トリアリールスルホニウム塩、サンアフロ社製)2質量部を配合して、エポキシ系接着剤組成物を調製した。エポキシ系接着剤組成物は、接合層3の硬化原料である。
<光学積層体の製造>
厚み100μmのガラス板2(G-leaf、登録商標、日本電気硝子社製)を準備した。エポキシ系接着剤組成物をガラス板2に塗布した。エポキシ系接着剤組成物を、ガラス板2および保護部材4で挟み込んだ。その後、ガラス板2側から紫外線を照射し、接着剤組成物を硬化させた。これにより、接着剤層からなる接合層3を形成した。接合層3の厚みは、3μmであった。これによって、ガラス板2と、接合層3と、保護部材4とを順に備える光学積層体1を製造した。
厚み100μmのガラス板2(G-leaf、登録商標、日本電気硝子社製)を準備した。エポキシ系接着剤組成物をガラス板2に塗布した。エポキシ系接着剤組成物を、ガラス板2および保護部材4で挟み込んだ。その後、ガラス板2側から紫外線を照射し、接着剤組成物を硬化させた。これにより、接着剤層からなる接合層3を形成した。接合層3の厚みは、3μmであった。これによって、ガラス板2と、接合層3と、保護部材4とを順に備える光学積層体1を製造した。
実施例2
保護部材4の厚みを40μmから20μmに変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。

実施例3
エポキシ系接着剤組成物から接合層3を形成したことに代えて、アクリル系接着剤組成物から接合層3を形成した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。アクリル系接着剤組成物は、以下の通りに調製した。4-ヒドロキシブチルアクリレート(官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマー、大阪有機化学工業製)75質量部と、N-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)アクリルアミド(共重合性モノマー、アミド基含有ビニルモノマー、興人社製)25質量部とを配合して、モノマー成分を調製した。モノマー成分100部に対し、光重合開始剤(イルガキュア819、BASF社製)0.5質量部を配合して、アクリル系接着剤組成物を調製した。
エポキシ系接着剤組成物から接合層3を形成したことに代えて、アクリル系接着剤組成物から接合層3を形成した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。アクリル系接着剤組成物は、以下の通りに調製した。4-ヒドロキシブチルアクリレート(官能基含有(メタ)アクリルエステルモノマー、大阪有機化学工業製)75質量部と、N-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)アクリルアミド(共重合性モノマー、アミド基含有ビニルモノマー、興人社製)25質量部とを配合して、モノマー成分を調製した。モノマー成分100部に対し、光重合開始剤(イルガキュア819、BASF社製)0.5質量部を配合して、アクリル系接着剤組成物を調製した。
実施例4
接着剤層から接合層3を形成したことに代えて、粘着剤層から接合層3を形成し、接合層3の厚みを3μmから23μmに変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。

粘着剤層は、アクリル系粘着剤組成物から形成した。粘着剤層の形成方法と光学積層体1の製造方法は、以下の通りである。攪拌羽根、温度計、窒素ガス導入管、冷却器を備えた4つ口フラスコに、ブチルアクリレート(アルキル(メタ)アクリレート)100部、アクリル酸(官能基含有ビニルビニルモノマー)5部、2-ヒドロキシエチルアクリレート(官能基含有ビニルビニルモノマー)0.1部、2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1部を酢酸エチル100gと共に仕込み、緩やかに攪拌しながら窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した後、フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に保って8時間重合して、重量平均分子量2,200,000(GPCによる標準ポリスチレン換算)のベースポリマーの溶液を調製した。
溶液の固形分(ベースポリマー)100部に対して、イソシアネート架橋剤(東ソー社製、コロネートL)0.60部、および、シランカップリング剤(信越化学工業社製、KBM403)0.20部を配合して、アクリル系粘着剤組成物のワニス(固形分11%)を調製した。
ワニスを、シリコーン処理を施した38μmのPETフィルム(MRF38、三菱化学ポリエステルフィルム社製)の表面に、乾燥後の粘着剤層の厚さが23μmになるように塗布し、155℃で1分間乾燥して、厚み23μmの粘着シートを得た。
(光学積層体の作製)
厚み100μmのガラス板2(G-leaf、登録商標、日本電気硝子社製)を準備した。粘着シートをPETフィルムからガラス板2に転写した。これにより、接合層3をガラス板2の厚み方向一方面に形成した。その後、実施例2に記載の保護部材4を接合層3に貼り合わせた。これによって、ガラス板2と、粘着剤層である接合層3と、保護部材4とを順に備える光学積層体1を製造した。
厚み100μmのガラス板2(G-leaf、登録商標、日本電気硝子社製)を準備した。粘着シートをPETフィルムからガラス板2に転写した。これにより、接合層3をガラス板2の厚み方向一方面に形成した。その後、実施例2に記載の保護部材4を接合層3に貼り合わせた。これによって、ガラス板2と、粘着剤層である接合層3と、保護部材4とを順に備える光学積層体1を製造した。
比較例1
(光学積層体の作製)
保護部材4を、厚さ80μmのトリアセチルセルロース系フィルム(KC8UA、コニカ社製)に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。

保護部材4を、厚さ80μmのトリアセチルセルロース系フィルム(KC8UA、コニカ社製)に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。
比較例2
接合層3を、下記の粘着剤層に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。
接合層3を、下記の粘着剤層に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、光学積層体1を製造した。
ラウリルアクリレート35質量部、2-エチルヘキシルアクリレート49質量部、4-ヒドロキシブチルアクリレート7質量部、N-ビニル-2-ピロリドン9質量部、および、光重合開始剤(イルガキュア184、BASF製)0.015質量部を配合し、紫外線を照射して重合し、プレポリマー組成物(重合率:10%)を得た。
メタクリル酸ジシクロペンタニル60質量部およびメタクリル酸メチル40質量部、α-チオグリセロール3.5質量部、および、トルエン100質量部を混合し、窒素雰囲気下にて70℃で1時間撹拌した。次に、2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.2質量部を投入し、70℃で2時間反応させた後、80℃に昇温して2時間反応させた。その後、反応液を130℃に加熱して、トルエン、α-チオグリセロールおよび未反応モノマーを乾燥除去して、固形状のアクリルオリゴマーを得た。アクリルオリゴマーの重量平均分子量は5100、ガラス転移温度(Tg)は130℃であった。
(粘着組成物の調製)
プレポリマー組成物100質量部に、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジアクリレート0.07質量部、アクリルオリゴマー3質量部、およびシランカップリング剤(KBM-403、3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、信越化学工業社製)0.3質量部を添加した後、これらを均一に配合して、光硬化性の粘着剤組成物を調製した。
プレポリマー組成物100質量部に、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジアクリレート0.07質量部、アクリルオリゴマー3質量部、およびシランカップリング剤(KBM-403、3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、信越化学工業社製)0.3質量部を添加した後、これらを均一に配合して、光硬化性の粘着剤組成物を調製した。
表面にシリコーン系離型層が設けられた厚み75μmのポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)フィルム(三菱ケミカル製「ダイアホイルMRF75」)上に、粘着剤組成物を厚み50μmになるように塗布して塗布層を形成した。この塗布層上に、カバーシートとして片面がシリコーン剥離処理された厚み75μmのPETフィルム(三菱ケミカル製「ダイアホイルMRE75」)を貼り合わせた。この積層体に、カバーシート側から、ランプ直下の照射面における照射強度が5mW/cm2になるように位置調節したブラックライトにより、紫外線を照射して光硬化させて、厚み50μmの粘着シートを得た。
上記粘着シートをガラス板2に転写して、ガラス板2の厚み方向一方面に、粘着剤層である接合層3を形成した。その後、実施例1の保護部材4を接合層3に貼り合わせた。これにより、ガラス板2と、接合層3と、保護部材4とを順に備える光学積層体を製造した。
<評価>
以下の項目を評価した。それらの結果を表1に示す。

[保護部材の弾性率]
保護部材4の弾性率を、ナノインデンター法で測定した。
ナノインデンター法は、Triboindenter(Hysitron Inc.製)を用い、以下の測定条件で測定した。
サンプルサイズ:10×10mm
圧子:Concial(球形圧子:曲率半径10μm)、
測定方法:単一押し込み測定
測定温度:室温
圧子の接触:光学積層体1における保護部材4に圧子を接触させて、保護部材4の弾性率を測定した。
温度:25℃
圧子の押込深さ:700nm
解析:荷重-変位曲線に基づくOliver Pharr解析
そして、保護部材4の厚みに対する保護部材4の弾性率の比を求めた。それらの比を表1に記載する。
保護部材4の弾性率を、ナノインデンター法で測定した。
ナノインデンター法は、Triboindenter(Hysitron Inc.製)を用い、以下の測定条件で測定した。
サンプルサイズ:10×10mm

<サンプル調製>
実施例1で用いたエポキシ系接着剤組成物、または実施例3で用いたアクリル系接着剤組成物を、実施例1で用いた保護部材4の表面に塗布した。その後、接着組成物を保護部材4と離型フィルムとで挟み込み、離型フィルム側から紫外線を照射し、接着組成物を硬化させた。接合層3が粘着剤の場合、実施例4および比較例2に記載の粘着シートを準備した。
<圧子の接触>:離型フィルムを除去することによって、接合層3を露出させた後、光学積層体1における接合層3に圧子を接触させて、接合層3の弾性率を測定した。
実施例1で用いたエポキシ系接着剤組成物、または実施例3で用いたアクリル系接着剤組成物を、実施例1で用いた保護部材4の表面に塗布した。その後、接着組成物を保護部材4と離型フィルムとで挟み込み、離型フィルム側から紫外線を照射し、接着組成物を硬化させた。接合層3が粘着剤の場合、実施例4および比較例2に記載の粘着シートを準備した。
<圧子の接触>:離型フィルムを除去することによって、接合層3を露出させた後、光学積層体1における接合層3に圧子を接触させて、接合層3の弾性率を測定した。
<圧子の押込深さ>
接着剤層からなる接合層3に対する圧子の押込深さ:100nm
接着剤層は、実施例1~実施例3と、比較例1との接合層3に相当する。
接着剤層からなる接合層3に対する圧子の押込深さ:100nm

[ペンドロップ試験による光学積層体の耐衝撃性評価]
光学積層体1についてペンドロップ試験を実施して、光学積層体1の耐衝撃性を評価した。図1の仮想線で示すように、ガラス板2が上側を向き、保護部材4が下側を向くようにして、光学積層体1を第2ガラス板35の上面に置いた。第2ガラス板35は、ステンレス板36の上面に配置されている。第2ガラス板35の厚みは、1.1mmである。ステンレス板36の厚みは、5cmである。また、図3に示すように、ガラス板2の上面の中央部の周部に、金属製の治具29を配置した。治具29の中央部には、厚み方向を貫通する開口が設けられている。ガラス板2の中央部は、治具29の開口から露出する。さらに、治具29の上面にガイド30を立てた。
光学積層体1についてペンドロップ試験を実施して、光学積層体1の耐衝撃性を評価した。図1の仮想線で示すように、ガラス板2が上側を向き、保護部材4が下側を向くようにして、光学積層体1を第2ガラス板35の上面に置いた。第2ガラス板35は、ステンレス板36の上面に配置されている。第2ガラス板35の厚みは、1.1mmである。ステンレス板36の厚みは、5cmである。また、図3に示すように、ガラス板2の上面の中央部の周部に、金属製の治具29を配置した。治具29の中央部には、厚み方向を貫通する開口が設けられている。ガラス板2の中央部は、治具29の開口から露出する。さらに、治具29の上面にガイド30を立てた。
次いで、任意の高さからペン28を落下させるペンドロップ試験を実施した。ペン28の質量は、10gである。ペン28を、第1板31と第2板32とに接触させた状態から、ガラス板2に向かって落下させた。距離を、第1板31の物差しによって測定した。ガラス板2に割れが確認できたときの高さHを、ペンドロップ試験における高さとして取得した。高さHを下記の基準に基づいて、光学積層体1の耐衝撃性を評価した。
<基準>
◎:高さHは、450mm以上であった。
〇:高さHは、330mm以上、450mm未満あった。
×:高さHは、330mm未満あった。
◎:高さHは、450mm以上であった。
〇:高さHは、330mm以上、450mm未満あった。
×:高さHは、330mm未満あった。
なお、上記発明は、本発明の例示の実施形態として提供したが、これは単なる例示に過ぎず、限定的に解釈してはならない。当該技術分野の当業者によって明らかな本発明の変形例は、後記請求の範囲に含まれる。

- ガラス板と、接合層と、保護部材とを厚み方向一方側に向かって順に備え、
前記接合層は、前記ガラス板の厚み方向一方面および前記保護部材の厚み方向他方面と接触し、
前記接合層の厚みに対する、ナノインデンター法で測定される前記接合層の弾性率の比が、1.0×104[Pa/μm]以上であり、
前記保護部材の厚みに対する、ナノインデンター法で測定される前記保護部材の弾性率の比が、1.0×108[Pa/μm]以上であることを特徴とする、光学積層体。 - 請求項1に記載の光学積層体と、
画像表示部材とを厚み方向一方側に向かって順に備えることを特徴とする、画像表示装置。
