Abstract
Description
特許文献1の二次冷却方法では、図9に示すような冷却メカニズムで鋳片が冷却される。図9には、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置の一部を示す模式図(A)、鋳造距離と水量密度との関係を示すグラフ(B)、及び鋳造距離と鋳片表面温度との関係を示すグラフ(C)が示されている。
図9(A)に示すように、噴射ノズル9は、ノズルヘッド31から噴射される冷却水Wの中心軸である冷却水噴射軸線J1が水平面(鉛直方向に直角な平面)Pと平行となるように設けられている。また、噴射ノズル9は、鋳片表面41と冷却水噴射軸線J1との交差位置Q9が、接触位置42及び接触位置43の中間位置44と一致するように設けられている。ここで、接触位置42は、噴射ノズル9の上方にあるロール2aと鋳片表面41との間の接触位置であり、また、接触位置43は、噴射ノズル9の下方にあるロール2bと鋳片表面41との間の接触位置である。
冷却水Wが吹き付け範囲45に噴射されると、鋳片表面41における水量密度は、図9(B)の破線に示すように、中間位置44で水量密度が最大になる。また、吹き付け範囲45に噴射された冷却水Wは、重力の影響を受けて下方に流れ、鋳片表面41における吹き付け範囲45よりも下側の部分と下方のロール2bの外周面との間に、垂れ水W1として溜まる。
その後、鋳片表面41上の前記所定位置が冷却水Wの吹き付け範囲45内に入るまで、鋳片表面41の温度は、復熱(以下、吹き付け範囲とその上方にあるロール2aとの間での復熱を「第1復熱」と言う)により上昇し、吹き付け範囲45内に入ると、そこを通過するまでスプレー冷却により下がり続ける。
そして、鋳片表面41上の前記所定位置が吹き付け範囲45を通過すると、鋳片表面41の温度は、2番目に接触するロール2bとの接触位置43に近づくまで、復熱(以下、吹き付け範囲45とその下方にあるロール2bとの間での復熱を「第2復熱」と言う)により上昇し、接触位置43に近づくと、当該接触位置43から所定距離以上離れるまで、ロール2bとの接触によるロール冷却により下がり続ける。
その後、上述の第1復熱、スプレー冷却、第2復熱、ロール冷却のサイクルが鋳片表面41に対して繰り返されることにより、鋳片4全体が冷却されて温度が徐々に下がる。
この特許文献2の二次冷却装置では、図10A及び図10Bに示すように、冷却水噴射軸線J1を鋳片表面の垂線に対して回転させ、鋳造方向DC(鋳片の移動方向)の上流側に傾斜させた上で、吹き付け範囲45を斜め下方に傾けている。なお、図10A及び図10Bにおいて図9と対応する要素には、同一符号を付している。
具体的には、図10Aの視線において、まず冷却水噴射軸線J1を前記垂線に対して鋳片4の側方向に傾斜角度αで傾斜させる。この時、吹き付け範囲45-1の中心450-1が吹き付け範囲45-2の中心450-2に移動する。続いて、図10Bに示すように、吹き付け範囲45-1の長軸LB-1が斜め下方を向くように、冷却水噴射軸線J1を回転角度βで回転させる。その結果、吹き付け範囲45-1の長軸LB-1が符号LB-3の位置に移動し、吹き付け範囲が符号45-2から符号45-3の位置に移動する。しかし、回転角度βが大きいと、符号45-3に示す冷却範囲の斜め下方部分が下側のロールにより遮られる。そのため、特許文献2では、冷却水噴射軸線J1をさらに傾斜角度γ分、鋳片の移動方向とは逆方向に傾斜させている。その結果、長軸LB-3が符号LB-4の位置に移動し、吹き付け範囲が符号45-3から符号45-4の位置に移動する。
このようにして、冷却水噴射軸線J1を図10Bの視線において鋳片表面上の斜め下側に傾斜させ、その結果として吹き付け範囲45-4の中心450-4を元の状態(符号450-1)よりも斜め下側に傾斜させる。このような構成により、冷却水を、回転角度βを大きくしても下側のロールにより遮られることなく、垂れ水W1を掻き出す右下方向に噴射できる(図10Bでは、冷却水は紙面右下に向かって噴射されている)。その結果、垂れ水W1が、鋳片の幅方向の側方に向けて排出され、鋳片の幅方向の冷却むらを低減できる。
しかしながら、特許文献1の方法では、ポンプの増設や高圧対応型の配管などの新しい設備が必要になり、コストが上昇してしまう。
特許文献2の方法では、冷却水が連続鋳造の上流側から下流側へ向けて噴射されることにより、鋳片の冷却むらを低減させることを目的とするものであり、冷却水と鋳片表面との熱伝達係数を高めることについては全く考慮されていない。
特許文献3の装置及び方法では、噴射ノズル本体を水平面に対して傾斜させることで噴射位置を調整している。しかしながら、一般的には、各ロール間の間隔は極力狭い方が好ましいため、噴射ノズルの上方にあるロール外周面と下方にあるロール外周面との間隔としては、例えば30mm~40mm程度しかない。このような狭い隙間内に噴射ノズル本体を差し込んでさらに上下に傾斜させることは、容易ではない。
(1)本発明の第一の態様は、鋳造方向に送られる鋳片の鋳片表面に冷却水を噴射して冷却する、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置であって、前記鋳造方向に沿う上下方向に並んで配置された複数のロールと、前記複数のロールの間から前記鋳片表面に前記冷却水を噴射する噴射ノズルと、を備え、前記噴射ノズルが、前記噴射ノズルの冷却水噴射軸線が、前記鋳片表面における前記冷却水の吹き付け範囲の長軸方向に対して傾斜し、前記吹き付け範囲の長軸が、前記噴射ノズルから前記鋳片表面への垂線である軸線回りに上方に回転し、前記吹き付け範囲の中心が、前記噴射ノズルの上方にある前記ロール及び前記鋳片表面間の接触位置と、下方にある前記ロール及び前記鋳片表面間の接触位置との中間位置よりも、上方に位置している。
なお、本実施形態において方向を表す場合、図1に示す座標軸の+X方向、-X方向、+Y方向、-Y方向、+Z方向、-Z方向を、それぞれ「左」、「右」、「前」、「後」、「上」、「下」と言う。
まず、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置の構成について説明する。
図1の上図に示すように、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置1は、鋳造方向DCに沿う上下方向に並んで配置された複数のロール2(図1の下図では、ロール2a、2b)と、複数のロール2の間から鋳片表面41に冷却水Wを噴射する噴射ノズル3とを備えている。各ロール2および各噴射ノズル3は、図2に示すように、前後方向にも並んで配置されている。
ロール2の直径Rとしては、100mm以上400mm以下が好ましい。互いに上下に隣り合う各ロール2間のピッチL1(互いに上下に隣り合う各ロール2の中心C間の距離)としては、100mm以上450mm以下である。また、互いに上下に隣り合う各ロール2の外周面間の隙間には、噴射ノズル3の先端部が挿入可能であることが好ましい。具体的には、前記隙間として、30mm~40mmである。
このような構成は、以下のようにして実現できる。
すなわち、噴射ノズル3としては、図3に示すように、角柱状のノズルヘッドを備えるノズル本体11と、ノズル本体11の先端部に形成された複数(図示は一対)の溝部12、12’と、溝部12、12’内において長細状に開口する一対の吐出口13、13’と、吐出口13、13’に連なる複数の流路14、15、16と、を備えた構成を採用できる。溝部12、12’の一方の端部よりも他方の端部の方が深く形成されており、しかも溝部12、12’における吐出口13、13’の中心の位置が、ノズル本体11の軸芯からずれて、溝部12、12’の他方の端部側に位置している。
この噴射ノズル3では、吐出口13、13’から噴射された流体は、溝部12、12’を構成する吐出壁に沿って流れる。しかも、吐出口13、13’の中心が、溝部12、12’の他方の端部(深溝部)側に位置しているため、深溝部側に、吐出口13、13’からの流体がより多く流れ込む。そのため、一方の端部(吐出壁の薄肉部又は浅溝部)側からの噴射量を規制しつつ、他方の端部(吐出壁の肉厚部又は深溝部)側からの噴射量を増大できる。その結果、冷却水(気液混合ミスト)が、ノズル先端の斜め前方域に重点的に噴射される。従って、この噴射ノズル3によれば、鋳片表面41上における吹き付け範囲46の形状を図2の下図に示すように、偏芯した楕円形状とすることができる。より具体的には、冷却水がノズル先端の斜め前方域に重点的に噴射することにより、吹き付け範囲46-1の中心460-1が符号460-3に移動する。すなわち、図2の下図に実線で示されるように、ノズル先端から噴射される冷却水の吹き付け範囲46-3は、偏芯した楕円形状となる。
すなわち、少なくとも1つの溝部12、12’において、一方の端部(浅溝部)の底部下端と、他方の端部(深溝部)の底部下端とを結ぶ線は、ノズル本体11の軸芯に対して直交する方向を基準にして3°~40°程度傾斜していてもよい。この傾斜角度により、溝部12、12’の各端部への流量配分(各端部側からの噴射量配分)を調整できる。
上下方向(Z方向)における、一対のロール2の中間位置44から吹き付け範囲46の中心460-3までの距離M(図2の下図を参照)は、0mmを超え(L1/2)mm以下が好ましい。
噴射ノズル3のノズルヘッド31の先端から鋳片表面41までの距離L2(X方向)(図1の下図を参照)は、50mm以上450mm以下が好ましい。
吹き付け範囲46は、鋳片表面41の中間位置44を含んでいてもよいし、含んでいなくてもよい。吹き付け範囲46の上端位置461から、鋳片表面41における上方のロール2aとの接触位置42までの距離L3(図1の下図を参照)は、0mm以上200mm以下が好ましい。冷却水Wは、上方のロール2aに接触するように噴射されてもよいが、接触しないことが好ましい。例えば、ロール2の直径Rが250mm、ロール2のピッチL1が290mm、ノズルヘッド31の先端から鋳片表面41までの距離L2が80mmの場合、距離L3は、45mm程度であることが好ましい。
噴射ノズル3の軸線310と鋳片表面41との交差位置は、中間位置44と重なってもよいし、重ならなくてもよい。
吹き付け範囲46の長軸LAの傾斜方向は、図2に示すように、鋳片4の幅方向の列ごとに交互に異なっていてもよいし、同じであってもよいし、1つの列において鋳片4の幅方向中央を境界として対称にしてもよい。
次に、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置1の作用について説明する。同実施形態に係る連続鋳造の二次冷却方法では、図6に示すような冷却メカニズムで鋳片が冷却される。図6には、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置の一部を示す模式図(A)、鋳造距離と水量密度との関係を示すグラフ(B)、及び鋳造距離と鋳片表面温度との関係を示すグラフ(C)が示されている。なお、以下において、図6(A)における上側のロール2aが、二次冷却装置1の最初のロール2である場合について説明を行う。
このとき、最初に接触するロール2aによるロール冷却後の効果代(本実施形態と従来の構成のロール冷却直後の温度の差)ΔTr1は0℃となる。
このとき、図6(B)の実線に示す吹き付け範囲46が、同図の破線に示す従来の吹き付け範囲45よりも図6の視線からみて上方にシフトし、かつ、上下方向(Z方向)に厚くなっている。そのため、図6(C)の実線に示す第1復熱期間が、同図の破線に示す従来の構成よりも短くなり、スプレー冷却が従来の構成よりも早く始まる。すなわち、鋳片表面41が復熱によって大幅に温度上昇する前に、冷却することができる。このため、従来の構成と比べて復熱量が低減し、スプレー冷却開始時の鋳片表面41の温度が低くなり、スプレー冷却時の熱伝達係数が大きくなる。その結果、冷却効率E1が従来の構成の冷却効率E9よりも高くなり、鋳片表面41はスプレー冷却によってより低い温度まで冷却される。また、冷却水噴射軸線J1を斜め上側に傾斜させ、斜め上方向への噴射量を多くしているため、第1復熱期間での復熱量をさらに低減でき、スプレー冷却時の熱伝達係数をさらに大きくできる。
この冷却過程において、ロール冷却後の効果代が鋳造方向下流に向かうにしたがって徐々に大きくなるため、従来の構成と比べて鋳片の冷却時間が短縮される。
本実施形態によれば、以下のような効果がある。
吹き付け範囲46の中心を中間位置44よりも上方とし、なおかつ冷却水噴射軸線J1が鋳片表面41の垂線に対して斜め上側に傾斜させる構成を採用しているので、噴射ノズル3の上方にあるロール2a及び鋳片表面41間の接触位置42に、冷却水Wの吹き付け先を近付けることができる。これにより、同接触位置42を経て下方に向かう鋳片表面41が復熱によって大幅に温度上昇する前に、冷却することができる。よって、鋳片4の冷却効果を従来よりも高めて生産性を向上させることができる。しかも、新たな設備を設けることなく鋳片4の冷却効果を高められるので、コスト上昇を招くこともない。
したがって、本実施形態の連続鋳造の二次冷却装置および二次冷却方法によれば、コスト上昇を招くことなく生産性の向上を図ることができる。
なお、本発明は上記実施形態にのみ限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲内において種々の改良ならびに設計の変更などが可能であり、その他、本発明の実施の際の具体的な手順、及び構造などは本発明の目的を達成できる範囲で他の構造などとしてもよい。
このような構成でも、従来の構成と比べて、冷却水Wの吹き付け範囲46を上方にシフトさせ、かつ、上下方向(Z方向)において厚くすることができ、コスト上昇を招くことなく生産性の向上を図ることができる。
噴射ノズル3として、一流体ノズルを用いてもよい。
実施例と比較例とで共通するパラメータとして、以下の設定を行った。
ロールの直径R:150mm以上360mm以下
ロールのピッチL1:190mm以上430mm以下
噴射ノズル先端から鋳片表面までの距離L2:80mm以上430mm以下
吹き付け範囲の上端位置から、鋳片表面における上方のロールとの接触位置までの距離L3:0mmを超え(L1/2)mm以下
噴射水量:ノズル1本当り8L/min以上80L/min以下
ロール間あたりの幅方向ノズル本数:1本~16本
鋳造速度:2.0m/min
溶鋼中の炭素量:0.04%
鋳片幅:1500mm
鋳片厚み:250mm
なお、比較例では、冷却水噴射軸線J1を吹き付け範囲46の長軸方向に対して傾斜しておらず、ノズルヘッド91の軸線910と鋳片表面41との交差位置が吹き付け範囲46の中心460と一致する噴射ノズル9を用いた。当該噴射ノズル9から噴射される冷却水Wの長軸方向の広がり角度は、軸線910を基準とした長軸方向両側(左右両側)で同じであるため、表1では、左右両側を合わせた角度を示す。
図8に示すように、最初のロールとの接触によるロール冷却後の効果代(実施例と比較例のロール冷却直後の温度の差)ΔTr1は0℃となったが、ロール冷却後の第1復熱期間は実線で示す実施例が破線で示す比較例よりも短くなり、実施例の復熱量が比較例の復熱量よりも7℃低減できた(図8中、「ΔTa」と示す)
また、比較例におけるスプレー冷却による降下温度ΔTscは150℃であり、実施例における降下温度ΔTspは176℃であり、スプレー冷却直後の効果代(実施例と比較例のスプレー冷却直後の温度の差)ΔTb1は33℃となった。
さらに、2、3番目のロールとの接触によるロール冷却後の効果代ΔTr2、ΔTr3は14℃、25℃となり、その後、鋳造方向下流に向かうにしたがって、ロール冷却後の効果代が徐々に大きくなった。また、2、3番目のスプレー冷却直後の効果代ΔTb2、ΔTb3は49℃,59℃となり、その後、鋳造方向下流に向かうにしたがって、スプレー冷却直後の効果代が徐々に大きくなった。
その結果、実施例は、比較例と比べて、鋳片の冷却時間が0.3min短縮されることが確認できた。

- 鋳造方向に送られる鋳片の鋳片表面に冷却水を噴射して冷却する、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置であって、
前記鋳造方向に沿う上下方向に並んで配置された複数のロールと、
前記複数のロールの間から前記鋳片表面に前記冷却水を噴射する噴射ノズルと、
を備え、
前記噴射ノズルが、
前記噴射ノズルの冷却水噴射軸線が、前記鋳片表面における前記冷却水の吹き付け範囲の長軸方向に対して傾斜し、
前記吹き付け範囲の長軸が、前記噴射ノズルから前記鋳片表面への垂線である軸線回りに上方に回転し、
前記吹き付け範囲の中心が、前記噴射ノズルの上方にある前記ロール及び前記鋳片表面間の接触位置と、下方にある前記ロール及び前記鋳片表面間の接触位置との中間位置よりも、上方に位置する、
ように設けられていることを特徴とする、連続鋳造の二次冷却装置。 - 前記噴射ノズルが、
前記冷却水噴射軸線が、前記鋳片表面における前記冷却水の吹き付け範囲の長軸方向に対して30°~40°傾斜し、
前記吹き付け範囲の長軸が、前記噴射ノズルから前記鋳片表面への垂線である軸線回りに上方に5°~15°回転している、
ように設けられていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の連続鋳造の二次冷却装置。 - 鋳造方向に沿う上下方向に並んで配置された複数のロール間に配置された噴射ノズルより鋳片表面に冷却水を噴射して冷却する工程を有する、連続鋳造の二次冷却方法であって、
前記噴射ノズルの冷却水噴射軸線が、前記鋳片表面における前記冷却水の吹き付け範囲の長軸方向に対して傾斜し、
前記吹き付け範囲の長軸が、前記噴射ノズルから前記鋳片表面への垂線である軸線回りに上方に回転し、
前記吹き付け範囲の中心が、前記噴射ノズルの上方にある前記ロール及び前記鋳片表面間の接触位置と、下方にある前記ロール及び前記鋳片表面間の接触位置との中間位置よりも、上方に位置する、
ことを特徴とする連続鋳造の二次冷却方法。
