この場合、前記パイロットピストンの長軸方向の径は、前記スプールのランド部の長軸方向の径より大きく、前記パイロットピストンの短軸方向の径は、前記ランド部の短軸方向の径と等しいことが望ましい。
また、本発明の他の構成態様によれば、前記弁孔の第1孔端壁と第2孔端壁、及び、前記ランド部の第1ランド端壁と第2ランド端壁とは、前記弁孔の孔側壁及び前記ランド部のランド側壁に対して直交する直線部と、該直線部を前記孔側壁及びランド側壁の端部に滑らかに接続する円弧状のコーナー部とからなっている。

また、図示した例で、前記左右のランド側壁25a,25aの前記長軸X方向の長さtは、前記短軸Y方向の径yより小さく形成されているが、該長さtは、前記弁孔8と同様に、前記短軸Y方向の径yと同じか又はそれより大きく形成することもできる。
前記スプール10の前記第1のランド部11は、前記第1のシール部材18が取り付けられている部分と、前記第2のシール部材19が取り付けられている部分とに、分割されていても良い。
また、前記パイロットピストン36の背面と前記スプール10との間に形成された開放室40は、大気に開放されている。
なお、前記パイロットピストン36の前記長軸X方向の径xp及び短軸Y方向の径ypとは、前記ピストン室35の内面に接触しているピストンパッキン37の位置での径(シール径)のことであって、前記ピストン室35の長軸X方向の径及び短軸Y方向の径と等しい。
即ち、前記弁孔8の第1孔端壁8b及び第2孔端壁8cは、孔側壁8aに対して直交する直線部8dと、該直線部8dの両端を前記左右の孔側壁8aの端部に滑らかに接続する円弧状のコーナー部8eとを有し、前記ランド部11-15の第1ランド端壁25b及び第2ランド端壁25cは、ランド側壁25aに対して直交する直線部25dと、該直線部25dの両端を前記左右のランド側壁25aの端部に滑らかに接続する円弧状のコーナー部25eとを有している。
この第2実施形態のスプール弁1Bの前述した構成以外の構成は、前記第1実施形態のスプール弁1Aと実質的に同じである。
このマニホールドバルブにおいて、前記マニホールド50は、複数のスプール弁V1,V2,V3に圧縮空気を供給する共通の給気通孔51と、複数のスプール弁V1,V2,V3から排出される圧縮空気を外部に排出する共通の排気通孔52とを有すると共に、各スプール弁V1,V2,V3の2つの出力ポートに連通する2つ1組の出力通孔53A,53Bを、前記スプール弁V1,V2,V3の数と同じ組数だけ有している。
前記給気通孔51と排気通孔52とは、前記マニホールド50の長さ方向に延在するように形成され、前記出力通孔53A,53Bは、前記マニホールド50の側面の、各スプール弁V1,V2,V3に対応する位置に形成されている。
なお、前記マニホールド50上には、本発明のスプール弁V2,V3だけを搭載することも可能である。
新たに設ける前記第2のパイロット弁及び第2の手動操作部は、前記パイロット弁部3に設ける代わりに、前記エンドブロック29側に設けても良い。
また、図示した各実施形態は5ポート式のスプール弁であるが、本発明は、3ポート式あるいは4ポート式など、その他のポート数のスプール弁にも適用することができる。
