- the operator group of the PDL data is an operator group of a predetermined format supported by the image forming apparatus 100 capable of both the staple binding process and the crimp binding process.
- the operator group of the PDL data is an operator group to be input to the image forming apparatus capable of performing only the staple binding process in order to perform the staple binding process.
- step S2001 the CPU 205 functioning as an analysis unit determines whether information (staple operator) related to the execution of the binding process is included in the PDL data. If the staple operator is included in the PDL data, the process proceeds to S2002; otherwise, the process proceeds to S2010.
- information staple operator
- step S2002 the analysis unit determines whether the stapling operator instructs not to execute the binding process.
- the analysis unit advances the process to S2007 and analyzes the binding processing setting information indicating that the binding processing is not performed. As a result, it is stored in the RAM 206. Otherwise, the analysis unit advances the process to S2003 to determine whether an operator for specifying the binding position is included in the PDL data.
- any one of predetermined four valid operators (/ Position (TopLeft), / Position (TopRight), / Position (BottomLeft), and / Position (BottomRight)) allowed by the image forming apparatus 100 is allowed. Is included in the PDL data.
- the analysis unit determines in S2004 whether a valid operator for specifying the type of binding processing is included in the PDL data. If an operator that determines the type of binding process is included in the PDL data, the process proceeds to S2005; otherwise, the process proceeds to S2006.
- the analysis unit determines whether the operator group included in the PDL data is an effective operator group described in a predetermined format (first predetermined format) supported by the image forming apparatus 100.
- a predetermined format for example, in the image forming apparatus 100 of this embodiment capable of executing staple binding processing and crimp binding processing as shown in FIG. 4A, a format for instructing execution of the type of binding processing designated by the operator. Abstract
