現在、これらの非水電解質二次電池の電解質としては、電解塩を非水系溶媒に溶解した液状電解質が使用されている。しかしながら、液状電解質は、可燃性の溶媒を含んでおり、液漏れが発生することもあり、安全性の向上が望まれている。
しかしながら、実際には、安定かつ安全に充電及び放電を行うことのできる実用的な電解液は見つかっておらず、マグネシウムイオン二次電池は実用化されていない。更に、ドライ系固体電解質を用いてマグネシウムイオン二次電池を駆動させたことは、報告されていない。
また、前記のイオン伝導性の低下の問題を解決する方法として、特定の有機化合物を添加することによって、溶融塩をゲル化する方法が開示されている(非特許文献2)。しかしながら、この方法においては、有機化合物をゲル化剤として用いているため、得られたゲル化した溶融塩の耐熱性が低かった。
従って、本発明の目的は、高いイオン伝導性及び優れた耐熱性を有するゲル化した溶融塩を提供することである。また、本発明の目的は、液漏れがなく及び発熱等の少ない蓄電デバイスを提供することであり、特には、液体電解質と同等のレート特性を示す全固体二次電池を提供することである。更に、従来十分な性能の全固体マグネシウムイオン二次電池は得られていなかったため、駆動可能な全固体マグネシウムイオン二次電池を提供することも、本発明の目的の1つである。
本発明は、こうした知見に基づくものである。
従って、本発明は、

非特許文献5には、イオン液体ゲルにTiO2フィラーを添加した電解質を用いたリチウムイオン二次電池が記載されている。しかしながら、このリチウムイオン二次電池は、充分なレート特性が得られていなかった。
また、特許文献1には、イオン液体に架橋性官能基を有する無機酸化物粒子を添加し、官能基を重合させた電解質を用いたリチウムイオン二次電池が記載されている。しかしながら、特許文献1に記載の二次電池は、架橋性官能基を重合させることによりイオン液体と固体化しており、本願発明とは異なるものであった。
本発明の溶融塩組成物は、表面に溶融塩と分子間相互作用する官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバー、及び溶融塩を含むことを特徴とする。
溶融塩は、カチオン及びアニオンからなる塩であり、高いイオン伝導率、広い電位窓、難揮発性、難燃性、及び熱安定性などの性質を示すものである。
本発明で用いることのできる溶融塩は、液体の状態になることができる限りにおいて、限定されるものではないが、例えばイオン液体を挙げることができる。本明細書において、イオン液体とは、融点が150℃以下の溶融塩を意味する。しかしながら、本明細書において、溶融塩は融点が150℃を超えるものを含む。また、明細書における溶融塩は、液体の状態となることができ、且つ結晶状態よりも柔軟性を持った固体状態になることができるプラスチック・クリスタル(柔粘性結晶)を含む。溶融塩の融点は、特に限定されるものではないが、本発明においては、-95~400℃の溶融塩を用いることができる。溶融塩の融点の下限は、-95℃程度であるが、溶融塩と分子間相互作用する官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーは、0℃以下でも溶融塩の粘度を増加させることができる。また、400℃においても、溶融塩と分子間相互作用する官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーは、その機能を維持することが可能であり、溶融塩の粘度を増加させることができる。従って、本発明の溶融塩組成物は、-95~400℃の範囲で、機能することができる。
前記溶融塩を構成するカチオンは、特に限定されるものではないが、イミダゾリウムカチオン、ピリジニウムカチオン、ピペリジニウムカチオン、ピロリジニウムカチオン、ホスホニウムカチオン、モルフォリニウムカチオン、スルホニウムカチオン又はアンモニウムカチオンを挙げることができる。
具体的なカチオンとして、1-エチルピリジニウムカチオン、1-ブチルピリジニウムカチオン、1-へキシルピリジニウムカチオン、1-ブチル-3-メチルピリジニウムカチオン、1-ブチル-4-メチルピリジニウムカチオン、1-へキシル-3-メチルピリジニウムカチオン、1-ブチル-3,4-ジメチルピリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-3-ヒドロキシメチルピリジニウムカチオン、1,1-ジメチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-メチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-プロピルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-ブチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-ペンチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-へキシルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-ヘプチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-プロピルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-ブチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-ペンチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-へキシルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-へプチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1,1-ジプロピルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-プロピル-1-ブチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1,1-ジブチルピロリジニウムカチオン、1-プロピルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-ペンチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1,1-ジメチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-エチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-プロピルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-ブチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-ペンチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-ヘキシルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-メチル-1-へプチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-プロピルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-ブチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-ペンチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-ヘキシルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-エチル-1-へプチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1,1-ジプロピルピペリジニウムカチオン、1-プロピル-1-ブチルピペリジニウムカチオン、1,1-ジブチルピペリジニウムカチオン、2-メチル-1-ピロリンカチオン、1-エチル-2-フェニルインドールカチオン、1,2-ジメチルインドールカチオン、1-エチルカルバゾールカチオン、又はN-エチル-N-メチルモルフォリニウムカチオンを挙げることができる。
前記溶融塩を構成するアニオンは、特に限定されるものではないが、カルボン酸アニオン、スルホン酸アニオン、ハロゲンアニオン、ヒドロキシアニオン、イミドアニオン、ホウ素アニオン、シアノアニオン、リンアニオン、又は硝酸アニオンを挙げることができる。
なお、「イミド」は「アミド」と称することもあり、本明細書においては両方の呼称を用いることがある。
具体的なアニオンとしては、Cl-、Br-、I-、AlCl4 -、Al2Cl7 -、BF4 -、PF6 -、ClO4 -、NO3 -、CH3COO-、CF3COO-、CH3SO3 -、CF3SO3 -、(CF3SO2)2N-、(CF3SO2)3C-、AsF6 -、SbF6 -、NbF6 -、TaF6 -、F(HF)n -、(CN)2N-、C4F9SO3 -、(C2F5SO2)2N-、C3F7COO-、(CF3SO2)(CF3CO)N-、SCN-、C2F5SO3 -、C3F7SO3 -、C4F9SO3 -、(FSO2)2N-、(C3F7SO2)2N-、(C4F9SO2)2N-、(CH3O)2PO2 -、(C2H5O)2PO2 -、(CN)2N-、(CN)3C-、CH3OSO3 -、C4H9OSO3 -、C2H5OSO3 -、n-C6H13OSO3 -、n-C8H17OSO3 -、CH3(OC2H4)2OSO3 -、(C2F5)3PF3 -、又はCH3C6H4SO3 -を挙げることができる。前記アニオンを含む化合物として、例えばテトラフルオロボレート(HBF4)、ヘキサフルオロホスフェート(HPF6)、ビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)イミド(C2HF6NO4S2)、又はビス(フルオロスルホニル)イミド(F2NO4S2)を挙げることができる。
本発明で用いられる溶融塩としては、限定されるものではないが、前記カチオン及びアニオンを組み合わせたものを用いることができる。例えば、塩化1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、臭化1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(トリフルオロスルホニル)イミド、ギ酸1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、酢酸1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、塩化1-ブチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、臭化1-ブチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、1-ブチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムテトラフルオロボレ-ト、1-ブチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(トリフルオロスルホニル)イミド、チオシアン酸1-ブチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウム、塩化3-メチル-オクチルイミダゾリウム、塩化3-メチル-ヘキサデシルイミダゾリウム、塩化-N-エチルピリジニウム、臭化-N-エチルピリジニウム、塩化-N-ブチルピリジニウム、臭化-N-ブチルピリジニウム、塩化-N-オクチルピリジニウム、塩化4-メチル-N-ブチルピリジニウム、臭化4-メチル-N-ブチルピリジニウム、N-メチル-N-プロピルピロリジニウムビス(トリフルオロスルホニル)イミド、ヨウ化1,1-ジメチルピロリジニウム、塩化1-ブチル-1-メチルピロリジニウム、塩化1-へキシル-1-メチルピロリジニウム、塩化1-メチル-1-オクチルピロリジニウム、N-ブチル-N-メチルピロリジニウムビス(トリフルオロスルホニル)イミド、N-メチル-N-プロピルピペリジニウムビス(トリフルオロスルホニル)イミド、塩化トリへキシル(テトラデシル)ホスホニウム、トリへキシル(テトラデシル)ホスホニウムテトラフルオロボレート、N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウムビス(トリフルオロスルホニル)イミド、N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウムテトラフルオロボレート、N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウムヘキサフルオロホスフェート、塩化N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウム、臭化N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウム、ギ酸N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウム、酢酸N,N-ジエチルメチル-(2-メトキシエチル)アンモニウム等を挙げることができる。
本発明に用いる無機ナノファイバーは、無機ナノファイバーに溶融塩と分子間相互作用する官能基を有し、そして溶融塩に添加することにより溶融塩の粘性を向上させることができる限りにおいて、限定されるものではない。前記官能基は、無機ナノファイバーが元来有するものでもよく、導入された官能基でもよい。
無機ナノファイバーは、限定されるものではないが、例えばSiO2ナノファイバー、TiO2ナノファイバー、ZnOナノファイバー、Al2O3ナノファイバー、ZrO2ナノファイバー又はそれらの組み合わせを挙げることができる。無機ナノファイバーの物性は、本発明の効果が得られる限りにおいて、特に限定されるものではないが、無機ナノファイバーの直径は好ましくは10nm~10μmであり、より好ましくは50nm~3μmであり、更に好ましくは50nm~1μmである。また、無機ナノファイバーのアスペクト比(長さ/直径)も限定されるものではないが、好ましくは100以上であり、より好ましくは1000以上である。
官能基は、限定されるものではないが、例えばアミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、シロキサン基、又はそれらの組み合わせを挙げることができる。
従って、官能基を有する無機ナノファイバーとしては、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、若しくはシロキサン基を有するSiO2ナノファイバー、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、若しくはシロキサン基を有するTiO2ナノファイバー、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、若しくはシロキサン基を有するZnOナノファイバー、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、若しくはシロキサン基が導入されたAl2O3ナノファイバー、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、若しくはシロキサン基を有するZrO2ナノファイバー又はそれらの組み合わせを挙げることができる。
実施例1及び比較例1からわかるように、本発明の溶融塩組成物においては、無機ナノファイバーが官能基を有することにより、溶融塩の粘度が増加し、溶融塩組成物が擬固体化又はゲル化できるものである。
官能基を有する無機ナノファイバーは、例えば以下の公知の工程(例えば、非特許文献3)によって製造することができる。
まず、金属酸化物の前駆体をゾルゲル反応(例えば、加水分解および重縮合反応)により増粘し、次いで電界紡法を用いて繊維を形成させる。ゾルゲル反応に使用できる金属酸化物前駆体は、限定されるものではないが、例えば、SiO2、TiO2、ZnO、Al2O3、ZrO2などの前駆体となる金属アルコキシドを挙げることができる。これらの金属アルコキシドのゾルゲル反応の条件を適宜調節することによって、金属酸化物の高分子量体を得ることができる。電界紡糸の際に、紡糸液粘度の調整するために、ポリエチレンオキシド、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリビニルピロリドンなどの水溶性高分子を添加してもよい。電界紡糸法によって得られたナノファイバーについては、焼成処理を行った後に、表面に官能基を導入する表面処理を行うことによって、官能基を有する無機ナノファイバーを得ることができる。官能基の導入方法としては、例えば公知の方法(例えば、非特許文献4)を利用して、金属酸化物の表面にアンカーとしてホスホン酸やアルコキシシランを用いてアルキル鎖などの側鎖を導入し、その末端にアミノ基、カルボキシル基、水酸基、シラノール基を導入することができる。
更に、官能基を有する無機ナノファイバーのうち、アミノ基を有するSiO2ナノファイバーは、特許文献2に記載のシリカ含有繊維の紡糸方法によって製造することもできる。
具体的には、成分(a)テトラアルコキシシラン及び/又はその縮合物、成分(b)アミノ基を含むシラン化合物、及び成分(c)ホウ酸、並びに必要に応じて成分(d)有機酸及び/又は成分(e)電解質を混合し、ゾル状紡糸液を作製する。このゾル状紡糸液を、電界紡糸法などによって紡糸することによって、アミノ基を有するSiO2ナノファイバーを得ることができる。
官能基を有する無機ナノファイバーは、製造例2~4に示すように、無機ナノファイバー作製後に、ナノファイバー表面に化学処理を行うことによって、作製することができる。例えば、SiO2ナノファイバー、チタニアナノファイバー、又はアルミナナノファイバーなどのナノファイバーを常法に従って作製する。これらのナノファイバーを、3-アミノプロピルエトキシシラン/トルエン溶液に浸漬し、減圧ろ過を行い、加熱乾燥させる。そして、トルエン中で5分間超音波洗浄を行う。その後、再度減圧ろ過を行い、アセトン洗浄後に真空乾燥を行うことによって、ナノファイバーの表面にアミノ基を導入することができる。
本発明の溶融塩組成物に含まれる無機ナノファイバーの含有量は、溶融塩の粘度が上昇し、擬固体化する限りにおいて限定されるものでないが、下限は好ましくは0.5重量%であり、より好ましくは1.0重量%であり、更に好ましくは1.5重量%である。含有量の上限は、特に限定されるものではないが、好ましくは10.0重量%以下であり、より好ましくは9.0重量%以下であり、更に好ましくは8.0重量%以下である。
本発明の溶融塩組成物に含まれる無機ナノファイバーは、少ない含有量で溶融塩の粘度を増加させ、更に擬固体化又はゲル化することができる。すなわち、少量の無機ナノファイバーで、3次元ネットワークを形成し、安定な擬固体化状態、又はゲル化状態を維持することができる。無機ナノファイバーの含有量が少ないために、溶融塩のイオン伝導率に与える影響が少なく、本発明の溶融塩組成物は、高いイオン伝導効率を示すことができる。
ここで、溶融塩組成物の温度が150℃以下の場合、比較的少量の無機ナノファイバーによって、溶融塩の濃度を上昇させ、ゲル化又は擬固体化させることができる。従って、無機ナノファイバーの含有量の上限は、例えば5.0重量%であり、好ましくは4.5重量%であり、より好ましくは4.0重量%である。しかしながら、溶融塩組成物の温度が高くなると溶融塩の粘度が低下する。従って、溶融塩の温度が高い場合、無機ナノファイバーの含有量が高い方が好ましい。
本発明の電解質は、前記溶融塩組成物、及び金属イオンを含む。
電解質の粘度は、二次電池等の蓄電デバイスから、電解質が漏出しない粘度であれば、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば10,000Pa・s以上であり、好ましくは100,000Pa・s以上であり、更に好ましくは200,000Pa・s以上である。電解質の粘度が10,000Pa・s以上であることにより、電解質が擬固体化し、セパレータを必要とせず、電解質漏えいの危険性のない電解質として用いることができる。
前記電解質は、金属イオンを含む。金属イオンは、蓄電デバイスに用いられる金属イオンを適宜選択することができるが、例えばリチウムイオン、カルシウムイオン、ナトリウムイオン、又はマグネシウムイオンを挙げることができる。
前記金属イオンは、金属塩の形態で電解質に添加することができる。すなわち、リチウム塩、カルシウム塩、ナトリウム塩、又はマグネシウム塩の形態で、前記電解質に添加することができる。
無機リチウム塩としては、例えばLiPF6、LiBF4、LiClO4、LiAsF6、Li2SiF6、LiSbF6、LiAlO4、LiAlCl4、又はLi2B12FbH12-b(bは0~3の整数)を挙げることができる。
また、有機リチウム塩としては、リチウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(LiTFSA)、LiN(SO2CF3)2、LiN(SO2C2F5)2等のLiN(SO2CmF2m+1)2(mは1~8の整数)で表される有機リチウム塩;LiPF5(CF3)等のLiPFn(CpF2p+1)6-n(nは1~5の整数、pは1~8の整数)で表される有機リチウム塩;LiBF3(CF3)等のLiBFq(CsF2s+1)4-q(qは1~3の整数、sは1~8の整数)で表される有機リチウム塩;LiB(C2O4)2で表されるリチウムビス(オキサラト)ボレート(LiBOB);LiBF2(C2O4)で表されるリチウムオキサラトジフルオロボレート(LiODFB)に代表されるハロゲン化LiBOB;LiB(C3O4H2)2で表されるリチウムビス(マロネート)ボレート(LiBMB);LiPF4(C2O2)で表されるリチウムテトラフルオロオキサラトフォスフェートを挙げることができる。
本発明の蓄電デバイスは、前記電解質、正極活物質を含む正極電極、及び負極活物質を含む負極電極を含む。具体的には、非水電解質二次電池、電気二重層キャパシタ、又はハイブリッドキャパシタを挙げることができる。
非水電解質二次電池は、非水電解質を用いる二次電池であり、限定されるものではないが、リチウムイオン二次電池、ナトリウムイオン二次電池、マグネシウムイオン二次電池、又はカルシウムイオン二次電池を挙げることができる。
なお、本発明に用いる電解質は、無機ナノファイバーを含むことによって、擬固体化した擬固体化電解質である。従って、擬固体化電解質を使用する非水電解質二次電池は、実質的に液体電解質を用いないものであり、本明細書においては、本発明の非水電解質二次電池を便宜的に全固体二次電池と称する。
負極電極は、必要に応じて導電材及び/又は結合剤(バインダー)を含有していてもよい。導電材としては、負極電極の導電性を向上させることができれば特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、導電性炭素材料が挙げられる。導電性炭素材料としては特に限定されないが、反応場の面積や空間の観点から、高比表面積を有する炭素材料が好ましい。具体的には、カーボンブラック(例えば、アセチレンブラック、ケッチェンブラック等)、活性炭、カーボン炭素繊維(例えば、カーボンナノチューブ(CNT)、カーボンナノファイバー、気相法炭素繊維等)等を挙げることができる。また、結合剤(バインダー)としては、ポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)、又はポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)等を挙げることができる。通常、負極電極は、集電体を有している。集電体の材料としては、例えば、SUS、ニッケル、銅及びカーボン等を挙げることができる。
リチウムイオン二次電池は、電解質中のリチウムイオンが電気伝導を担う二次電池である。本発明のリチウムイオン二次電池の電解質としては、前記「[1]電解質」の項に記載のリチウム金属塩を含む電解質を挙げることができる。
リチウムイオン二次電池の正極活物質としては、例えば、ニッケルコバルトマンガン酸リチウム(LiNixCo1-y-xMnyO2)、LiCoxMnyO2、LiCoMnO4、LiNixCoyO2、LiNixMnyO2、Li2NiMn3O8、コバルト酸リチウム(LiCoO2)、ニッケル酸リチウム(LiNiO2)、マンガン酸リチウム(LiMnO2)、LiMn2O4、鉄オリビン(LiFePO4)、Li3Fe2(PO4)3、コバルトオリビン(LiCoPO4)、ニッケルオリビン(LiNiPO4)、マンガンオリビン(LiMnPO4)、チタン酸リチウム(Li4Ti5O12)、リン酸バナジウムリチウム(Li3V2(PO4)3)[LVPと称することがある。]等のリチウム遷移金属化合物、銅シュブレル(Cu2Mo6S8)、硫化鉄(FeS)、硫化コバルト(CoS)、硫化ニッケル(NiS)等のカルコゲン化合物などが挙げられる。
負極活物質としては、例えば、メソカーボンマイクロビーズ(MCMB)、高配向性グラファイト(HOPG)、ハードカーボン、ソフトカーボン等のカーボン材料;チタン酸リチウム(Li4Ti5O12)等のリチウム遷移金属酸化物;La3Ni2Sn7等の金属合金等を挙げることができる
ナトリウムイオン二次電池は、電解質中のナトリウムイオンが電気伝導を担う二次電池である。本発明のナトリウムイオン二次電池の電解質としては、前記「[1]電解質」の項に記載のナトリウム金属塩を含む電解質を挙げることができる。
ナトリウムイオン二次電池の正極活物質としては、ナトリウムイオンと層間化合物を形成するO3型またはP2型層状構造を有する化合物や、ポリアニオン型の化合物が好ましい。例えば、ナトリウム含有遷移金属酸化物またはナトリウム含有遷移金属リン酸塩が挙げられる。ナトリウム含有遷移金属酸化物としては、例えば、亜クロム酸ナトリウム(NaCrO2)を挙げることができる。亜クロム酸ナトリウムは、Naの一部あるいはCrの一部または全部が他元素で置換されていてもよく、例えば、一般式(2):Na1-xM1 xCr1-yM2 yO2(0≦x≦2/3、0≦y≦1、M1およびM2は、それぞれ独立にCrおよびNa以外の金属元素である)で表される化合物でもよい。ナトリウム含有遷移金属酸化物として、更にNaFeO2、NaNi1/2Mn1/2O2、NaFe0.4Ni0.3Mn0.3O2を挙げることができる。ナトリウム含有遷移金属リン酸塩としては、一般式(3):NaaM3PO4Fb(1≦a≦2、0≦b≦2、M3はNa以外の金属元素である)で表される化合物が挙げられる。M3は、例えばFe、Co、NiおよびMnよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。具体的には、NaFePO4、Na2FePO4F、NaVPO4F、NaCoPO4、NaNiPO4、NaMnPO4などが挙げられる。
マグネシウムイオン二次電池は、電解質中のマグネシウムイオンが電気伝導を担う二次電池である。本発明のマグネシウムイオン二次電池の電解質としては、前記「[1]電解質」の項に記載のマグネシウム金属塩を含む電解質を挙げることができる。
マグネシウムイオン二次電池の正極活物質としては、マグネシウムを可逆的に保持および放出することが可能な物質であれば限定されるものではない。例えば、マグネシウムカチオンを可逆的に保持および放出することができる硫化物、マグネシウムカチオンを可逆的に保持および放出することができる酸化物、マグネシウムカチオンを可逆的に保持および放出することができる有機化合物などが挙げることができる。具体的には硫化モリブデン、酸化マンガンなどが挙げることができる。
負極活物質は、金属マグネシウムまたはマグネシウム合金を含むものが好ましい。マグネシウム合金としては、例えば、マグネシウムとアルミニウムとの合金、マグネシウムと亜鉛との合金、マグネシウムとマンガンとの合金などを挙げることできる。
カルシウムイオン二次電池は、電解質中のカルシウムイオンが電気伝導を担う二次電池である。本発明のカルシウムイオン二次電池の電解質としては、前記「[1]電解質」の項に記載のカルシウム金属塩を含む電解質を挙げることができる。
カルシウムイオン二次電池の正極活物質としては、カルシウムを可逆的に保持および放出することが可能な物質であれば限定されるものではない。例えば、カルシウムカチオンを可逆的に保持および放出することができる硫化物、カルシウムカチオンを可逆的に保持および放出することができる酸化物、カルシウムカチオンを可逆的に保持および放出することができる有機化合物などが挙げることができる。具体的には硫化モリブデン、酸化マンガンなどが挙げることができる。
負極活物質は、金属カルシウムまたはカルシウム合金を含むものが好ましい。カルシウム合金としては、例えば、カルシウムとアルミニウムとの合金、カルシウムと亜鉛との合金、カルシウムとマンガンとの合金などを挙げることできる。
本発明の電気二重層キャパシタにおいては、本発明の「電解質」を用いる以外は、従来電気二重層キャパシタに使用されていた材料を制限なく、用いることができる。すなわち、従来使用されていた正極活物質、及び負極活物質などを制限なく用いることができる。
正極活物質として、活性炭、カーボンウィスカ、カーボンナノチューブ、グラフェン、グラフェンナノリボン、又はグラファイトを挙げることができる。正極電極は、正極活物質以外に、導電助剤、バインダー、及び/又は集電体を含んでもよい。
また、負極電極としては、前記正極電極と同じ構成のものを用いることができる。
本発明のハイブリッドキャパシタとしては、限定されるものではないが、リチウムイオンキャパシタ、ナトリウムイオンキャパシタ、カルシウムイオンキャパシタ、又はマグネシウムイオンキャパシタを挙げることができる。本発明のハイブリッドキャパシタにおいては、本発明の「電解質」を用いる以外は、従来ハイブリッドキャパシタに使用されていた材料を制限なく、用いることができる。すなわち、従来使用されていた正極活物質、及び負極活物質などを制限なく用いることができる。
ハイブリッドキャパシタの負極活物質としては、前記非水電解質二次電池の項に記載の負極活物質を用いることができる。また、負極電極は、負極活物質以外に、導電助剤、バインダー、及び/又は集電体を含んでもよい。
本発明の液化溶融塩の増粘方法は、表面に官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーを液化した溶融塩に添加することを特徴とするものである。
官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーを、液化溶融塩に添加することにより、無機ナノファイバーの3次元ネットワークが形成され、溶融塩の粘度を上昇させることができる。なお、本明細書において「増粘」とは液化溶融塩の粘度が上昇することのみでなく、液化溶融塩が擬固体化又はゲル化することも含む。
また、溶融塩は一般的に「固体塩を加熱溶解して液体状にした物質」を意味するため、本明細書において用いている「溶融塩」と「液化溶融塩」とは同義である。しかしながら、本発明の「液化溶融塩の増粘方法」によって、擬固体化又はゲル化した溶融塩が得られる。従って、擬固体化又はゲル化した溶融塩と区別するため、液化溶融塩の増粘方法においては、液体状態の溶融塩を「液化溶融塩」と称する。
液化溶融塩に添加する官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーの量は、液化溶融塩の粘度が上昇する限りにおいて、特に限定されるものではないが、下限は好ましくは0.5重量%であり、より好ましくは1.0重量%であり、更に好ましくは1.5重量%である。含有量の上限は、特に限定されるものではないが、好ましくは10.0重量%以下であり、より好ましくは9.0重量%以下であり、更に好ましくは8.0重量%以下である。
また、無機ナノファイバーの添加方法も特に限定されるものではなく、通常の方法を制限なく用いることができる。
ここで、液化溶融塩の温度が150℃以下の場合、比較的少量の無機ナノファイバーによって、液化溶融塩の増粘させることができる。従って、無機ナノファイバーの含有量の上限は、例えば5.0重量%であり、好ましくは4.5重量%であり、より好ましくは4.0重量%である。しかしながら、液化溶融塩の温度が高くなると溶融塩の粘度が低下する。例えば、250℃程度の液化溶融塩を用いる場合、液化溶融塩及び無機ナノファイバーの組み合わせによっては、5.0重量%を超える無機ナノファイバーが必要なことがある。
本発明の増粘方法において、無機ナノファイバーを添加するときの温度は、特に限定されない。しかしながら、本発明で用いる溶融塩は、それぞれの固有の融点を有している。すなわち、溶融塩はそれぞれの溶融塩の融点を超える温度において、液化溶融塩の状態となっている。従って、それぞれの溶融塩の融点を超える温度において、無機ナノファイバーを添加することが好ましい。それぞれの溶融塩の融点と、添加温度の差が小さすぎる場合、均一に混合できないことがあるため、溶融塩の融点と添加温度との差は、好ましくは1℃以上であり、より好ましくは3℃以上であり、更に好ましくは5℃以上である。
従って、無機ナノファイバーを添加するときの温度は、限定されないが、例えば-95~400℃である。溶融塩の融点の下限は、-95℃程度であるが、官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーは、0℃以下でも溶融塩の粘度を増加させることができるからである。また、400℃においても、官能基を導入された無機ナノファイバーは、その溶融塩の溶融塩の粘度を増加させることができるからである。
本製造例では、アミノ基を有するシリカ含有繊維(SiO2ナノファイバー)を製造した。テトラエトキシシラン(TEOS)オリゴマー61重量%、γ-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン31重量%、ホウ酸8重量%を混合し、粘性ゾル化させた。2日間放置した後に、得られたゾル状紡糸液を、電界紡糸法により紡糸し、アミノ基を有するSiO2ナノファイバーを得た。電界紡糸は、印加電圧24kV、電極基板間距離18cmで実施した。得られた繊維のフィラメント直径は、400nmであった。
本比較製造例では、表面にアミノ基を持たないSiO2ナノファイバーを作製した。テトラエトキシシラン(TEOS)13重量%、分子量100万のポリビニルピロリドン(PVP)4重量%、無水エタノール82.2重量%を混合した溶液に、塩酸0.8重量%を加えて2時間攪拌したものを紡糸液とした。この紡糸液を電界紡糸法により紡糸し、SiO2/PVP複合ナノファイバーを得た。電界紡糸は、印加電圧7kV、電極基板間距離8cmで実施した。得られたナノファイバーについて550℃で3時間焼成処理を行い、熱分解によってPVPを除去し、表面にアミノ基を持たないSiO2ナノファイバーを作製した。得られた繊維のフィラメント直径は、400nmであった。
製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーを、1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(フルオロスルホニル)アミド(EMIFSA)に3重量%添加して、粘性の増加したEMIFSA組成物1を作製した。具体的には、10mLバイアル瓶にEMIFSAを3mL用意し、これに製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーを0.5重量%ずつ添加した。SiO2ナノファイバーを添加した後、マグネチックスターラーで混合物が均一になるまで十分に撹拌した。SiO2ナノファイバーの添加量の増加に伴って、EMIFSA組成物の粘度は増加していく。この操作をEMIFSA組成物がゲル化するまで繰り返し行った(EMIFSA組成物1)。なお、これらの操作はすべてアルゴンガス雰囲気下で行った。また、SiO2ナノファイバーの2重量%又は3.5重量%の添加によっても、EMIFSAはゲル化した。
得られたEMIFSA組成物1の入ったバイアル瓶を倒置して、25℃、100℃、及び150℃で10分間放置した(図2A~C)。図2(C)に示すように、150℃においても安定なゲル状態を維持していた。25℃における3次元レーザー顕微鏡(キーエンス製VK-9700)による写真を図3に示す。ナノファイバーネットワーク構造が形成されており、少ないナノファイバーの添加量でゲル化していることがわかる。
比較製造例1で得られたSiO2ファイバーを実施例1と同様に、1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(フルオロスルホニル)アミド(EMIFSA)に0.5重量%ずつ添加した。このとき、ナノファイバーの添加量を3.5重量%まで増やしてもイオン液体の増粘は起こらなかった。マグネチックスターラーによる攪拌を停止した後では、EMIFSA中にナノファイバーの沈殿が生じ、ゲルは形成できなかった(図2(D))。
本比較例では、市販のフィラー(関東化学製Nanotek(登録商標)、平均粒子径18.5~83.6nm)を用いて、1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(フルオロスルホニル)アミド(EMIFSA)のゲル化を試みた。具体的には、10mLバイアル瓶にEMIFSAを3mL用意し、これに前記フィラーを0.5重量%ずつ添加した。SiO2ナノファイバーを添加した後、マグネチックスターラーで混合物が均一になるまで十分に撹拌した。この操作をEMIFSAがゲル化するまで繰り返し行ったところ、20重量%を超えてもゲル化は起こらず、30重量%のフィラーを添加することによってEMIFSAがゲル化した。
本実施例では、イオン液体として1-ブチル-1-メチルピロリジニウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(Pyr14TFSA)を用いて溶融塩組成物を作製した。
EMIFSA3重量%に代えてPyr14TFSAを用いたこと及びSiO2ナノファイバー2.5重量%を用いたことを除いては、実施例1の操作を繰り返して、Pyr14TFSA組成物2を得た。
本実施例では、イオン液体として、1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(EMITFSA)を用いて溶融塩組成物を作製した。EMIFSAに代えて、EMITFSAを用いたこと、及びSiO2ナノファイバーの添加量を3重量%又は3.5重量%としたことを除いては、実施例1の操作を繰り返して、EMITFSA組成物3を得た。
EMIFSAにSiO2ナノファイバー2重量%添加したことを除いては、実施例1の操作を繰り返して、EMIFSA組成物4を得た。
具体的にはアントンパール社製のレオメーター(MCR-301)のパラレルプレートに試料を挟み込み、動的粘弾性測定を行った。測定方法は歪1%の条件で測定周波数0.01~30Hz、測定温度を40~150℃とした。図4に示すように、40℃~150℃のすべての温度において、貯蔵弾性率(G’)が損失弾性率(G”)より大きくなっており、得られた溶融塩組成物が、ゲル状態であることがわかる。
本実施例では、溶融塩組成物(電解質)のイオン伝導度の測定を行った。
各イオン液体(EMIFSA、EMITFSA、Pyr14TFSA)にリチウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(LiTFSA)を25重量%加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した後、実施例1~4と同じ量のSiO2ナノファイバーを添加し、それぞれ、Li塩添加の溶融塩組成物を得た。これらの試料についてイオン伝導度の測定を行った。
具体的には、2枚の導線を取り付けたステンレス電極の間にスペーサーを挟み、スペーサー内に溶融塩組成物を充填し、試料が漏れ出すことのないようイミドテープで密封して測定セルを作製した。この測定セルを用いて25℃から100℃の範囲でバイオロジック社製のSP-150ポテンショスタット/ガルバノスタットを用いて交流インピーダンス測定を行い、得られた抵抗値およびセル定数(スペーサーの厚さおよび試料面積)からイオン伝導度を求めた。なお、これらの操作はすべてアルゴンガス雰囲気下で行った。
図5に示すように、実施例5で得られた溶融塩組成物は、良好なイオン伝導度を示した。
本実施例では、マグネシウムイオンを用いた場合の、溶融塩組成物(電解質)のイオン伝導度を測定した。
EMITFSAにマグネシウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(Mg(TFSA)2)を0.5mol/L加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した後、SiO2ナノファイバーを3.5重量%添加したことを除いては、実施例1の操作を繰り返して、溶融塩組成物を得た。図6に示すように、実施例6で得られた溶融塩組成物6は、良好なイオン伝導度を示した。
本実施例では、溶融塩であるテトラエチルアンモニウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(N2222TFSA)にMg(TFSA)2をモル比9:1で混合し、150℃で加熱撹拌して融解させ、これにSiO2ナノファイバーを3.5重量%添加し、実施例1の操作を繰り返して、溶融塩組成物7-1(電解質)を得た。更に加熱温度を200℃にし、SiO2ナノファイバーを4.5重量%とすることで、同様に溶融塩組成物7-2(電解質)を得た。いずれの温度においても、SiO2ナノファイバーの添加により、溶融塩はゲル化した。
製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーの官能基を、フーリエ変換赤外分光装置(日本分光製FT/IR-6300)およびX線光電子分光装置(アルバックファイ製Quantum-2000)を用いて分析した。分析結果を、それぞれ図7及び図8に示す。図7の赤外吸収スペクトルにおいてアミノ基に由来するN-H変角振動の吸収ピークが1637cm-1に観察された。製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーがアミノ基を有することを裏付けている。更に、測定深度が5nm程度のX線光電子分光測定から得られた図8のスペクトルにおいて、窒素原子のピークが確認された。従って、製造例1で得られたナノファイバーは表面にアミノ基を有することが支持された。
0M、0.5M、及び1.32Mのリチウムを含むEMITFSA組成物3(実施例3)の耐熱性を熱重量測定装置(リガク製TermoPlusEVOII)によって測定した。得られた電解質は、室温から350℃までほぼ重量減少がなく、優れた耐熱性を示した(図9)。
本製造例では、SiO2ナノファイバー作製後にナノファイバー表面に化学処理を行うことによって、表面にアミノ基を有するSiO2ナノファイバーを作成した。比較製造例1で製造したSiO2ナノファイバーを2重量%の3-アミノプロピルエトキシシラン/トルエン溶液に1時間浸漬し、減圧ろ過を行い、100℃で30分加熱乾燥させた。その後、トルエン中で5分間超音波洗浄を行い、再度減圧ろ過を行いアセトン洗浄後に真空乾燥を行って、表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーを得た。得られた表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーについてフーリエ変換赤外分光測定を行ったところ、1640cm-1付近にアミノ基に由来するN-H変角振動の吸収ピークが観察され、アミノ基の導入が確認された。
本製造例は、アミノ基を有するチタニアナノファイバーを作製した。
ゾルゲル前駆体として、TEOSに代えて、オルトチタン酸テトライソプロピル(TTIP)を用いたことを除いては比較製造例1の操作を繰り返して、チタニアナノファイバーを製造した。TTIP26重量%、PVP2.2重量%、無水エタノール41.8重量%、酢酸30重量%を混合した溶液を調製し紡糸液として用いた。TTIPは反応が速いため、溶液の調製は全てアルゴンガス雰囲気下で行った。電界紡糸法によって、調製した溶液の紡糸を行い、チタニア/PVP複合ファイバーを得た。電界紡糸は、印加電圧6kV、電極基板間距離8cmで実施した。得られたナノファイバーに500℃で1時間焼成処理を行うことによって製造したチタニアナノファイバーに製造例2と同じ化学処理を行うことによって、表面アミノ化チタニアナノファイバーを得た。得られた表面アミノ化チタニアナノファイバーについてフーリエ変換赤外分光測定を行ったところ、1640cm-1付近にアミノ基に由来するN-H変角振動の吸収ピークが観察され、アミノ基の導入が確認された。走査型電子顕微鏡(日本電子製JCM-5700)観察により得られたファイバーの平均直径は約270nmであった。
本製造例は、アミノ基を有するアルミナナノファイバーを作製した。
ゾルゲル前駆体として、TEOSに代えて、アルミニウムイソプロポキシド(AIP)を用いたことを除いては比較製造例1の操作を繰り返して、アルミナナノファイバーを製造した。AIP2.6重量%、PVP7.5重量%、無水エタノール87.8重量%、硝酸2.1重量%を混合した溶液を調製し紡糸液として用いた。電界紡糸は、印加電圧18kV、電極基板間距離18cmで実施した。得られたナノファイバーに1100℃で2時間焼成処理を行うことによって製造したアルミナナノファイバーに製造例2と同じ化学処理を行うことによって、表面アミノ化アルミナナノファイバーを得た。得られた表面アミノ化アルミナナノファイバーについてフーリエ変換赤外分光測定を行ったところ、1640cm-1付近にアミノ基に由来するN-H変角振動の吸収ピークが観察され、アミノ基の導入が確認された。走査型電子顕微鏡(日本電子製JCM-5700)観察により得られたファイバーの平均直径は約300nmであった。
本実施例では、製造例2で得られた表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーを、EMITFSAに3重量%添加して、粘性の増加したEMITFSA組成物5を作製した。10mLバイアル瓶にEMITFSAを3mLいれたものを3本用意し、これに製造例2で得られた表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーをそれぞれ0.5重量%ずつ添加した。バイアル瓶に表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーを添加した後、マグネチックスターラーで混合物が均一になるまで十分に撹拌した。ナノファイバーの添加量の増加に伴って、EMITFSA組成物の粘度は増加していく。この操作をEMITFSA組成物がゲル化するまで繰り返し行い、3重量%の表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーの添加で、ゲル化したEMITFSA組成物5(表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーを用いたイオン液体ゲル)を得た。なお、これらの操作はすべてアルゴンガス雰囲気下で行った。
本実施例では、製造例3で得られた表面アミノ化チタニアナノファイバーを、EMITFSAに3重量%添加して、粘性の増加したEMITFSA組成物6を作製した。表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーに代えて、製造例3で得られた表面アミノ化チタニアナノファイバーを用いたことを除いては、実施例8の操作を繰り返して、3重量%の表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーの添加で、ゲル化したEMITFSA組成物6(表面アミノ化チタニアナノファイバーを用いたイオン液体ゲル)を得た。
本実施例では、製造例4で得られた表面アミノ化アルミナナノファイバーを、EMITFSAに3重量%添加して、粘性の増加したEMITFSA組成物7を作製した。表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーに代えて、製造例3で得られた表面アミノ化チタニアナノファイバーを用いたことを除いては、実施例8の操作を繰り返して、3重量%の表面アミノ化SiO2ナノファイバーの添加で、ゲル化したEMITFSA組成物7(表面アミノ化アルミナナノファイバーを用いたイオン液体ゲル)を得た。
得られた繊維のフィラメント直径は、1000nmとなるように調整した以外は、製造例1の操作を繰り返して、SiO2ナノファイバーを得た。
本実施例では、リチウムイオンを含む電解質を調製し、それを用いてリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(EMITFSA)にリチウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(LiTFSA)を25重量%加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した。その混合物に、製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーを、3重量%添加して、EMITFSA組成物を作製した。具体的には、10mLバイアル瓶にEMITFSAを3mL用意し、これに製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーを0.5重量%ずつ添加した。SiO2ナノファイバーを添加した後、マグネチックスターラーで混合物が均一になるまで十分に撹拌した。SiO2ナノファイバーの添加量の増加に伴って、EMIFSA組成物の粘度は増加していった。この操作をEMIFSA組成物がゲル化するまで繰り返し行い、擬固体化電解質を得た。なお、これらの操作はすべてアルゴンガス雰囲気下で行った。
製造例1で得られた直径400nmのSiO2ナノファイバーに代えて、製造例5で得られた直径1000nmのSiO2ナノファイバーを用いたことを除いては、実施例11の操作を繰り返して、二次電池を作製した。
R2032コインセルを用いて合剤正極上に設置したセパレータ(ポリマー)に1-エチル-3-メチルイミダゾリウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(EMITFSA)にリチウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(LiTFSA)を25重量%加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した混合物を含浸させた電解質を設置した上に、負極としてLi金属箔を設置し、コインセルかしめ器を用いてパッキングを行い、二次電池を作製した。
本実施例では、マグネシウムイオンを含む電解質を調製し、それを用いてマグネシウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
EMITFSAにマグネシウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(Mg(TFSA)2)を0.5mol/L加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した後、SiO2ナノファイバーを3.5重量%添加したことを除いては、実施例1の操作を繰り返して、擬固体化電解質を得た。
ステンレス製2極式セル(宝泉株式会社製)を用いて、正極上に設置したガラスセパレータにEMITFSAにマグネシウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(Mg(TFSA)2)を0.5mol/L加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した混合物を含浸させた電解質を設置した上に負極としてグローブボックス内で研磨したマグネシウム金属を設置し、コインセルかしめ器を用いてパッキングを行い、二次電池を作製した。
本実施例では、イオン液体としてテトラエチルアンモニウムビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)アミド(N2,2,2,2TFSA)を用いて、マグネシウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
EMITFSAに代えて、N2,2,2,2TFSAを用いたことを除いては、実施例3の操作を繰り返して、マグネシウムイオン二次電池を作製した。ただし、N2,2,2,2TFSAにマグネシウムビスMg(TFSA)2を0.5mol/L加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した後、SiO2ナノファイバーを3.5重量%添加する工程は全て150℃の加熱条件下で行った。
ステンレス製2極式セル(宝泉株式会社製)を用いて、正極上に設置した、150℃の加熱条件下でガラスセパレータにN2,2,2,2TFSAにMg(TFSA)2を0.5mol/L加えて完全に溶解するまで撹拌した混合物を含浸させた電解質を設置し、その上に負極としてグローブボックス内で研磨したマグネシウム金属を設置し、コインセルかしめ器を用いてパッキングを行い、二次電池を作製した。
2電極セル(宝泉株式会社製HSフラットセル)の正極および負極に活性炭電極シート(日本バルカー工業製)を使用し、電解質として、EMITFSAに製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーを3重量%添加して得られた擬固体化EMITFSA組成物を用いた電気二重層キャパシタを作製し、bio-logic社製のポテンショスタット/ガルバノスタット(SP-150)を用いてサイクリックボルタンメトリーの測定を行った。活性炭電極は使用前に150℃で3時間の減圧乾燥後、EMITFSAに12時間浸漬した後に用いた。擬固体化電解質のガイドは厚み1mmのシリコンゴムを用いた。
3.9Vの電位窓において安定なキャパシタの駆動を確認し、走査速度20mV/秒において電極総重量当たり139F/gの静電容量が得られた(図17)。キャパシタの作製と測定は全てアルゴンガス雰囲気下で行った。
コンピューター制御ポテンショスタット(bio-logic社製のVMP3)を用いて、定電流充放電(0.1C相当)を充電カットオフ4V、放電カットオフ2.5Vの条件で3サイクル行った。
図10は65℃ 0.1Cで3サイクル作動させたものであるが、この温度までは、いずれの電解質も安定して作動することがわかった。また、作動温度を増加させた場合(図11)、本発明による電解質のみ高温でも安定に作動することを示す。
充放電試験と同じ装置により、充放電電流値を可変させながら充放電測定を行った。25℃においては、0.1C、1.0C、2.0C、5.0C、10C、65℃においては、0.1C、1.0C、2.0C、5.0C、10C、20C、85℃、105℃においては、1.0C、2.0C、5.0C、10C、15Cに電流値をそれぞれ設定し充放電を行った。
図12に示すように、実施例1及び2で得られたリチウムイオン二次電池は、比較例1のイオン液体及びセパレータを用いたリチウムイオン二次電池と比較して、同等以上のレート特性を示した。特に85℃及び105℃の高温においては、非常に優れたレート特性を示した。
実施例1のリン酸鉄リチウム(LiFePO4)正極を用いたハーフセルの充電時における内部抵抗については、bio-logic社製のVMP3を用いて、電池に負荷をかけない開路電圧における交流インピーダンス測定(交流振幅5mV,周波数範囲500kHz~50mHz)を行い、高周波末端における実軸との交点を電解液部分の電解液のイオン輸送抵抗(Rs)、そこから0.1Hzまでの円弧の幅をリチウム金属負極の界面電荷移動抵抗(Rct)として見積もった。
図13に示すように、本発明のリチウムイオン二次電池(実施例12)は、比較例3のリチウムイオン二次電池と比較して、リチウム金属界面電荷移動抵抗(Rct)が低く、電極と電解質との接触が優れていると考えられる。
コンピューター制御ポテンショスタット(bio-logic社製VMP3)を用いて、定電流充放電(0.0.05C相当)を容量規制(150mAh/g)で3サイクルの充放電試験を行った。
図14に示すように、本発明のマグネシウムイオン二次電池(実施例3)は、比較例2のEMITFSA及びガラスセパレータを用いてマグネシウムイオン二次電池と比較して、80℃における充放電容量が大きく増加した。また、150℃においても液体並みの高い充放電容量を示し、安定した放電曲線が得られ、円滑なMg対極上での反応が起こっていると考えられた。
更に図15に示すように、イオン液体としてN2,2,2,2[TFSA]を用いたマグネシウムイオン二次電池(実施例4)においても、優れた充放電容量を示した。
宝泉株式会社製HSフラットセルの正極にマグネシウム、負極に白金を使用し、電解質として製造例1で得られたSiO2ナノファイバーを3重量%添加して得られた、MgTFSAを含む擬固体化N2,2,2,2TFSA(MgTFSA:N2,2,2,2TFSA=1:9(モル比))を用いた2電極セルを作製し、bio-logic社製VMP3を用いて温度150℃、走査速度1.0mV/秒の条件でサイクリックボルタンメトリーの測定を行った。
図16に示すように、本発明のSiO2ナノファイバーを用いて擬固体化したMg塩を含むN2,2,2,2TFSA電解質を用いることによって、イオン液体中でのMg析出が容易に起こることを確認した。またイオン液体を多孔質材料に含浸させて電解質と比較して、析出陽ピークが明瞭になり、且つ過電圧が低減された。
以上、本発明を特定の態様に沿って説明したが、当業者に自明の変形や改良は本発明の範囲に含まれる。
Claims (15)
- 表面に溶融塩と分子間相互作用する官能基を有する無機ナノファイバー、及び溶融塩を含むことを特徴とする溶融塩組成物。
- 前記無機ナノファイバーが、SiO2ナノファイバー、TiO2ナノファイバー、ZnOナノファイバー、Al2O3ナノファイバー、ZrO2ナノファイバー及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される無機ナノファイバーである、請求項1に記載の溶融塩組成物。
- 前記溶融塩が、イミダゾリウムカチオン、ピリジニウムカチオン、ピペリジニウムカチオン、ピロリジニウムカチオン、ホスホニウムカチオン、モルフォリニウムカチオン、スルホニウムカチオン及びアンモニウムカチオンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのカチオン、及びカルボン酸アニオン、スルホン酸アニオン、ハロゲンアニオン、ヒドロキシアニオン、イミドアニオン、ホウ素アニオン、シアノアニオン、リンアニオン、及び硝酸アニオンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのアニオンを含む溶融塩体である、請求項1又は2に記載の溶融塩組成物。
- 前記溶融塩が深共晶溶媒である、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の溶融塩組成物。
- 前記官能基が、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基及びシロキサン基及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される官能基である、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の溶融塩組成物。
- 前記無機ナノファイバーの含有量が0.5~10.0質量%である、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の溶融塩組成物。
- 請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の溶融塩組成物、及び金属イオンを含むことを特徴とする電解質。
- 前記金属イオンがリチウムイオン、カルシウムイオン、ナトリウムイオン、及びマグネシウムイオンからなる群から選択される金属イオンである、請求項7に記載の電解質。
- 請求項7又は8に記載の電解質、正極活物質を含む正極電極、及び負極活物質を含む負極電極、を含む蓄電デバイス。
- 非水電解質二次電池、電気二重層キャパシタ又はハイブリッドキャパシタである、請求項9に記載の蓄電デバイス。
- 表面に溶融塩と分子間相互作用する官能基を有する無機ナノファイバーを液化した溶融塩に添加することを特徴とする液化溶融塩の増粘方法。
- 前記無機ナノファイバーが、SiO2ナノファイバー、TiO2ナノファイバー、ZnOナノファイバー、Al2O3ナノファイバー、ZrO2ナノファイバー及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される無機ナノファイバーである、請求項11に記載の液化溶融塩の増粘方法。
- 前記液化溶融塩が、イミダゾリウムカチオン、ピリジニウムカチオン、ピペリジニウムカチオン、ピロリジニウムカチオン、ホスホニウムカチオン、モルフォリニウムカチオン、スルホニウムカチオン及びアンモニウムカチオンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのカチオン、及びカルボン酸アニオン、スルホン酸アニオン、ハロゲンアニオン、ヒドロキシアニオン、イミドアニオン、ホウ素アニオン、シアノアニオン、リンアニオン、及び硝酸アニオンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのアニオンを含む液化溶融塩である、請求項11又は12に記載の液化溶融塩の増粘方法。
- 前記官能基が、アミノ基、水酸基、カルボキシル基、及びシロキサン基及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される官能基である、請求項11~13のいずれか一項に記載の液化溶融塩の増粘方法。
- 前記無機ナノファイバーの添加量が0.5~10.0質量%である、請求項11~14のいずれか一項に記載の液化溶融塩の増粘方法。
