但し、その後のガス発生剤の充填時にはタッピングしながら充填することなどから、後工程の作業において筒状フィルタの位置がずれることが考えられる。
このため、従来技術では、ハウジング内に支持部材を配置したり、ハウジングに位置決め部を形成したりする必要があった。
前記外側位置決め治具が、
第1外側位置決め治具と第2外側位置決め治具の2つの治具の組み合わせからなるものであり、
前記筒状フィルタの外周面に対して、第1外側位置決め治具と第2外側位置決め治具を互いに正対する方向から当接させることで、前記ディフューザシェルの中心軸と前記筒状フィルタの中心軸が一致するように固定することができるものであり、
前記内側位置決め治具が、
大径周壁部と、小径周壁部と、前記大径周壁部と前記小径周壁部を接続する環状傾斜面部を有する漏斗状のものであり、前記環状傾斜面部と前記小径周壁部の境界部分が前記筒状フィルタの開放端面に当接することができ、前記小径周壁部の外周面が前記筒状フィルタの内周面に当接できるものである。
(1)図1のガス発生器
ガス発生器1は、ディフューザシェル11とクロージャシェル21からなるハウジング2を有している。
ディフューザシェル11とクロージャシェル21は、鉄、ステンレスなどからなるものである。
ディフューザシェル11は、天井部13において筒状フィルタ65の位置決めをするための凸部、段差部および傾斜面部(例えば、JP-A No.2008-114773の図1における上部環状傾斜面16)を有していない。
周壁部14には、内側からアルミニウムなどからなるシールテープ16で閉塞された複数のガス排出口17が形成されている。
複数のガス排出口17は、周方向に均等間隔に形成されている。
点火器取り付け孔22は、ハウジング2の内側方向に延びた筒状部22aを有している。
ハウジング2は、ディフューザシェル11とクロージャシェル21が開口部側のフランジ部15とフランジ部25で組み合わされて、溶接部3で溶接接合されている。
インナーチューブ30は、第1端部31の開口部がディフューザシェル天井部13の内壁面13aに当接されている。
ディフューザシェル天井部13と第1端部31は、接触部分で溶接されている。
インナーチューブ30は、第2端部32の開口部がクロージャシェル底面部23の開口部22に嵌め込まれて固定された点火器50を包囲して配置されている。
点火器50は、インナーチューブ30の第2端部32側の内周壁の段差部34と、第2端部32側の開口部側の折曲部33で固定されている。
点火器取り付け孔22の筒状部22aとインナーチューブ30の第2端部32側の外壁面は、接触部分で溶接されている。
複数のエンハンサ孔37は、周方向に等間隔に形成されており、外側からアルミニウムなどからなるシールテープで閉塞されている。
エンハンサ剤容器40の底面42は点火器50の着火部52に当接され、天面43は天井部13に当接されている。
燃焼室60と、ディフューザシェル11の周壁部14およびクロージャシェル21の周壁部24の間に筒状空間66を形成するようにして筒状フィルタ65が配置されている。
筒状フィルタ65は、第1端面65aがディフューザシェル天井部13に圧接され、第2端面65bがクロージャシェル底面部23に圧接されている。
ガス発生剤成形体61は、クロージャシェル21側においてインナーチューブ30に嵌め込まれた環状形状のアンダープレート63により固定されている。
このようにして、ガス発生剤成形体61が燃焼室60内に固定されていることで、筒状フィルタ65は半径方向に移動しないように支持されている。
図2により図1のガス発生器の組み立て方法を説明する。
本発明のガス発生器の組み立て方法は、ガス発生剤成形体の充填工程において、筒状フィルタの位置決め治具を使用することが特徴であるものであるから、他の組み立て工程は従来技術のガス発生器の組み立て工程と同様に実施することができるものであり、以下の工程に限定されるものではない。
なお、上記したとおり、ガス発生器の組み立てラインは完全に自動化された組み立てラインである。
その後、前工程にて、天井部13にインナーチューブ30が溶接固定されたディフューザシェル11を天井部13が下になった状態で組立台上に置き、シールテープをディフューザシェル11及びインナーチューブ30それぞれに貼り付ける。
なお、その後、インナーチューブ30内にエンハンサ剤容器40と電気式点火器50を収容することもできるが、後工程において収容してもよい。
図2には、内側位置決め治具80を使用した状態を示しており、図3には、外側位置決め治具(第1外側位置決め治具70と第2外側位置決め治具75の組み合わせ)を使用した状態を示している。
なお、外側位置決め治具(第1外側位置決め治具70と第2外側位置決め治具75の組み合わせ)と内側位置決め治具80は、いずれも上記の組立台との間で位置関係が固定されているもので、繰り返し使用されるものである。
大径周壁部81と小径周壁部82は、同軸方向になるように形成されているものであり、環状傾斜面部83は、大径周壁部81から小径周壁部82方向に内径が小さくなるように形成されている。
内側位置決め治具80は、環状傾斜面部83と小径周壁部82の境界部分(角部分)を筒状フィルタ65の第2端面65bに当接させ、小径周壁部82を筒状フィルタ65の内側に差し込んで使用する。
環状傾斜面部83と小径周壁部82の境界部分に平坦面を形成して、前記平坦面を筒状フィルタ65の第2端面65bの内周側に当接させるようにしてもよい。
小径周壁部82と筒状フィルタ65の内周面65cは当接していてもよいし、隙間があってもよい。
ガス発生剤成形体61は、内側位置決め治具80を使用して、燃焼室60内に充填される。このとき、隙間無く充填できるようにタッピングしながら充填する。
第1外側位置決め治具70は、第1腕部71と、第1腕部71からY字状(またはU字状でもよい)に分岐した第1支持部72を有している。
第2外側位置決め治具75は、第2腕部76と、第2腕部76からY字状(またはU字状でもよい)に分岐した第2支持部77を有している。
第1外側位置決め治具70と第2外側位置決め治具75を使用して筒状フィルタ65を固定するときは、図3に示すように、筒状フィルタ65を正対する両方向から、第1外側位置決め治具70の第1支持部72と第2外側位置決め治具75の第2支持部77で挟み付けるようにして、ディフューザシェル11の中心軸Xと筒状フィルタ65の中心軸Xが一致するように固定する。
このように互いの中心軸Xを一致させるため、図3に示すL1とL2の長さが同一になるように、第1外側位置決め治具70と第2外側位置決め治具75の相対位置を調整する。
なお、第1外側位置決め治具70と第2外側位置決め治具75は、環状のアンダープレート63を嵌め込んだ後に取り除くようにすることもできる。
なお、前工程にてインナーチューブ30内にエンハンサ剤容器40と電気式点火器50を収容していないときは、クロージャシェル21を被せる前に収容する。
その後、クロージャシェル21の筒状部22aとインナーチューブの第2端部32の接触部分を溶接する。
このため、ディフューザシェル11の特別な加工が不要になること、支持部材が不要になることから、部品コストが減少され、組み立て時間が短縮される。
作動前には、燃焼室60内に固定されたガス発生剤成形体61により筒状フィルタ65は位置決めされている。
点火器50が作動して着火部52から火炎などが発生すると、エンハンサ剤容器40の底面42が破れて、内部のエンハンサ剤が着火燃焼される。
エンハンサ剤から発生した火炎がエンハンサ孔37から燃焼室60内に噴き出し、ガス発生剤成形体61が着火燃焼して、燃焼ガスが発生する。
燃焼ガスは、筒状フィルタ65を通過し、筒状空間66に流入した後、圧力の上昇によりシールテープ16が破れて、開口した複数のガス排出口17からガスがエアバッグ内に排出される。
Claims (3)
- 天井部と、前記天井部の周辺部から延ばされた周壁部を有し、前記周壁部に内側からシールテープで閉塞された複数のガス排出口を有しているディフューザシェルと、
点火器を取り付けるための取り付け孔を有している底面部と、前記底面部の周辺部から延ばされた周壁部を有しているクロージャシェルが、
それぞれの開口部側で組み合わされて接合されたハウジングを有しており、
前記ハウジング内には、
点火手段室を形成するためのインナーチューブが、第1端部の開口部が前記ディフューザシェル天井部に当接され、第2端部の開口部が前記クロージャシェル底面部の開口部に嵌め込まれた点火器を包囲して配置されており、
さらに前記インナーチューブの外側には、前記ディフューザシェル周壁部のガス排出口との間に間隔をおいて筒状フィルタが配置されており、
前記インナーチューブの内部が点火手段室となり、前記インナーチューブと前記筒状フィルタの間が燃焼室となり、前記点火手段室と前記燃焼室が、作動時には前記インナーチューブの周壁部に形成されたエンハンサ孔で連通されるものであり、
前記燃焼室内には、クロージャシェル側のインナーチューブに嵌め込まれ、筒状フィルタには当接されていないアンダープレートによって、ガス発生剤成形体がディフューザシェル天井部側に固定されており、
作動前においては、前記ガス発生剤成形体の存在によって、前記筒状フィルタの中心軸がディフューザシェルの中心軸と一致するように位置決めされており、
前記ディフューザシェルが、前記筒状フィルタの位置決めをするための凸部および段差部を有しておらず、
さらに前記ハウジング内には前記筒状フィルタの位置決めをするための部材が配置されていない、ガス発生器。 - 請求項1記載のガス発生器の組み立て方法であって、
前記ディフューザシェルの中心軸と前記インナーチューブの中心軸が一致するようにして、前記ディフューザシェル天井部に対して前記インナーチューブの第1端部側を溶接固定する工程、
前工程にて、前記天井部にインナーチューブが溶接固定されたディフューザシェルを天井部が下になった状態で台上に置く工程、
前記インナーチューブ内に点火手段を収容する工程、
前記ディフューザシェルの中心軸と前記筒状フィルタの中心軸が一致するようにして、ガス排出口を有するディフューザシェル周壁部との間に間隔をおいて前記筒状フィルタを配置する工程、
前記筒状フィルタと前記ディフューザシェル周壁部の間に外側位置決め治具を配置するか、および/または前記筒状フィルタと前記インナーチューブの間に内側位置決め治具を配置した状態で、燃焼室内に所要量のガス発生剤成形体を充填する工程、
前記内側位置決め治具および/または外側位置決め治具を取り除いた後、環状のアンダープレートを前記インナーチューブに対して嵌め込みながら、前記燃焼室内に充填されたガス発生剤成形体を固定する工程、
前記ディフューザシェルに前記クロージャシェルを被せた後、接触部分にて溶接接合し、前記クロージャシェルと前記インナーチューブの第2端部側の接触部分を溶接接合する工程、
を有している、ガス発生器の組み立て方法。 - 前記外側位置決め治具が、
第1外側位置決め治具と第2外側位置決め治具の2つの治具の組み合わせからなるものであり、
前記筒状フィルタの外周面に対して、第1外側位置決め治具と第2外側位置決め治具を互いに正対する方向から当接させることで、前記ディフューザシェルの中心軸と前記筒状フィルタの中心軸が一致するように固定することができるものであり、
前記内側位置決め治具が、
大径周壁部と、小径周壁部と、前記大径周壁部と前記小径周壁部を接続する環状傾斜面部を有する漏斗状のものであり、前記環状傾斜面部と前記小径周壁部の境界部分が前記筒状フィルタの開放端面に当接することができ、前記小径周壁部の外周面が前記筒状フィルタの内周面に当接できるものである、請求項2記載のガス発生器の組み立て方法。
