- one of the cylindrical torsion bar 3Ba and the cylindrical torsion bar 3Bb may be a rigid body, and only the other may have an elastic force. That is, the elastic force of the cylindrical torsion bar 3Ba and the elastic force of the cylindrical torsion bar 3Bb may not be the same (may be different). However, in practice, it is not limited to these examples.
- the input shaft 1 transmits a steering torque applied from the driver via the steering wheel 1 a to the output shaft 2 via the torsion bar 3.
- a steering torque is applied to the torsion bar 3, as shown in FIG. 8A, first, torsion of the center torsion bar 3A occurs. Since the core torsion bar 3A is splined to the cylinder torsion bar 3B inside the cylinder torsion bar 3B, the core torsion bar 3A and the cylinder torsion bar 3B interlock with each other. Therefore, the torque increases and as shown in FIG.
- the torque sensor 10 detects the amount of torsion of the torsion bar 3 to detect the amount of torsion of the core torsion bar 3A and the amount of torsion of the cylinder torsion bar 3B, and detects the torque between the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 2 Do.

- the rotational displacement increases so as to deviate from the rotational displacement in the conventional method.
- the relationship of the magnitude of the elastic force is “elastic force of the core torsion bar 3A ⁇ elastic force of the conventional torsion bar”, a physical quantity having a gain higher than that of the conventional method is obtained. .
- a physical quantity with high gain can be obtained, it can contribute to detailed control, and can realize a natural and refreshing steering feel to the driver.
- the relationship of the magnitude of the elastic force is “the elastic force of the conventional torsion bar ⁇ the elastic force of the cylindrical torsion bar 3B”, if the meshing point is exceeded, the conventional torsion bar An elastic force stronger than the elastic force is generated to suppress the displacement in the rotational direction. For this reason, there is no concern that the core torsion bar 3A will be twisted off, or that the reliability will be lost.
- a column assist type is assumed as the electric power steering apparatus (EPS), but in practice the rack assist type, the pinion assist type, etc. can be used if the configuration of the present embodiment can be applied. good.
- the torsion bar may have a three or more-stage structure. For example, as shown in FIG. 10 (a), cylindrical torsion bars 3Bc and 3Bd which are one size smaller than the cylindrical torsion bar 3B are disposed between the core torsion bar 3A and the cylindrical torsion bar 3B shown in FIG. It is good.

Can be nested).
- the inner cylindrical torsion bars 3Bc and 3Bd are splined to the outer cylindrical torsion bars 3Ba and 3Bb inside the outer cylindrical torsion bars 3Ba and 3Bb.
- the spline connection is only an example. At this time, more detailed torque resolution can be obtained by changing the elastic force and the rigidity for each level of the cylindrical torsion bar.
- the cylindrical torsion bars are meshed sequentially from the inner one so that the elastic force becomes larger. That is, it is assumed that the elastic force is larger as the outer one is.
- the inner tube torsion bars 3Bc and 3Bd are a circumferential end surface 3Bcn of the meshing teeth 3Bct and a circumferential surface 3Bdn of the meshing teeth 3Bdt. And a gap dg1 corresponding to a predetermined rotation angle .beta.
- the outer cylinder torsion bars 3Ba and 3Bb have a predetermined rotation angle ⁇ between the circumferential end surface 3Ban of the meshing teeth 3Bat and the circumferential surface 3Bbn of the meshing teeth 3Bbt.
- a minute gap dg2 is formed to be formed.
- the core torsion bar 3A is twisted while the inner cylindrical torsion bar 3Bd rotates by the gap dg1.
- the outer cylindrical torsion bar 3Bb is also rotated by a distance dg3 corresponding to the rotation angle ⁇ in conjunction with the inner cylindrical torsion bar 3Bd.
- the inner cylindrical torsion bars 3Bc and 3Bd are twisted in addition to the core torsion bar 3A.
- one pair of torsion bar parts is assumed to be two cylindrical torsion bars (cylindrical parts), but in fact, it is three or more cylindrical torsion bars. It is good also as a thing.
- a cylindrical torsion bar 3Bf (not shown) is disposed between the cylindrical torsion bar 3Ba and the cylindrical torsion bar 3Bb, and the cylindrical torsion bar 3Ba and one end of the cylindrical torsion bar 3Bf are meshed with each other by meshing teeth.
- the end and the cylindrical torsion bar 3Bb may be connected by meshing with each other by meshing teeth.
- the first torsion bar and the second torsion bar are arranged in parallel.
- the second torsion bar is connected when the torsion of the first torsion bar reaches a predetermined rotation angle, and comprises a pair of torsion bar parts in which the torsion occurs in conjunction with the first torsion bar.
- control signal in the vicinity of the center (neutral position) of the steering wheel by a circuit or calculation at the stage of detecting the torsion of the torsion bar and converting it into an electric signal and replacing it with the control value.
- the elastic force of the second torsion bar is larger than the elastic force of the first torsion bar.
- a physical quantity with a higher gain than that of the conventional method can be obtained.
- a strong elastic force is generated to suppress the displacement in the rotational direction, and there is no concern that the first torsion bar will be twisted or the reliability will be lost.
- a pair of torsion bar components are coaxially arranged cylindrical components, and the first torsion bar is housed inside the cylindrical components, and both ends of the first torsion bar are fixed inside When the torsion of the first torsion bar reaches a predetermined rotation angle, the teeth are connected by meshing engagement.
- the first torsion bar is accommodated and coupled to the inside of the second torsion bar, and the torsion bar has a multistage structure (hierarchical structure), whereby the first torsion bar is interlocked with the torsion of the first torsion bar. It is possible to obtain an optimal structure in which the torsion bar 2 is twisted. In addition, since the first torsion bar is accommodated inside the second torsion bar and the appearance becomes a single torsion bar, replacement with the conventional torsion bar is easy.
- the number of meshing teeth is one to seven. Thereby, sufficient durability can be ensured while securing a sufficient size for the meshing teeth.
- the second torsion bar may have a gap of a predetermined rotation angle between the meshing teeth, and an elastic body may be interposed in the gap. Thereby, in the second torsion bar, it is possible to suppress operation noise and knocking when meshed by the meshing teeth. Further, by adjusting the elasticity of the elastic body, it is possible to adjust the inflection point of the meshing point in the graph shown in FIG. 5, and it is possible to realize a smooth connection of a pair of torsion bar parts.
- the second torsion bar is a nested structure in which a plurality of sets of the torsion bar parts having different sizes are incorporated in order of size. Thereby, the multistage structure (hierarchical structure) of the torsion bar can be most easily realized.
- the torque sensor according to the present embodiment can be mounted on an electric power steering apparatus (EPS). Thereby, in the electric power steering apparatus (EPS), a refreshing feel in the vicinity of the center (neutral position) of the steering wheel 1a can be realized.
