Definitions
- the present invention relates to a protection circuit for a robot control device.
- Robot control devices for controlling robots are required to comply with various safety standards. Countermeasures against overvoltage failure of the input power supply are one of the requirements.
- overvoltage protection measure to be applied to the power supply circuit in order to comply with safety standards, (1) Use a power supply product that has received safety certification from a third-party organization, or (2) Use a power supply product that has not been certified by a third party and add overvoltage protection to the power supply product. Any of these methods is adopted.
- the method (1) is easy as a means for realizing overvoltage protection measures, but the purchase price is significantly higher than that of a power supply product that has not undergone safety certification by a third party. There are challenges.
- the method (2) can be realized at a considerably lower cost than the method (1). For this reason, generally, the method (2) is often applied to the safety standard.
- Patent Document 1 discloses an overvoltage protection circuit in which a fuse is surely blown when a surge absorber is broken in a short mode when an excessive voltage is erroneously input.

- Each of the two switches 33 has the same circuit configuration as that of the first switch 22 and the second switch 23 constituting the second current cutoff means 24, but each of them is the first current cutoff means 21 or the second current cutoff means 21. Another circuit configuration that exhibits the same function as the current interrupting means 24 may be used.

- the first current cutoff unit 21, the first switch 22, and the second switch of the overvoltage protection circuit unit 12 are illustrated in FIG. 23 circuit configurations are illustrated.
- One end of the current interrupting element 42 in the first current interrupting means 21 is connected to the positive terminal 41 of the power supply voltage input terminal, and the other end is connected to the input terminal of the first switch 22. That is, the current interruption element 42 is provided on the current path from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 to the DC output terminal 13.
- the current interruption element 42 for example, a fuse or the like is used. When the value of the current flowing through the fuse exceeds a predetermined threshold, an overcurrent flows through the fuse, the fuse is blown, and the current is cut off so that no current flows to the circuit block after the first switch 22.
- the resistor 43 in the first current interrupting means 21 has one end connected to the other end of the current interrupting element 42 and the other end connected to the ground. The resistor 43 operates to draw the current that has passed through the current interrupting element 42 to the ground side.
- the threshold value that determines the current value when the current interrupting element 42 is interrupted is a value that is larger than the current flowing through the resistor 43 when the voltage value of the voltage input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 is lower than a predetermined threshold value. It is designed to be For this reason, when the voltage value of the voltage input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 is lower than the threshold value, the current is not interrupted by the current interrupting element 42.

- the base current of the third transistor 46 in the second switch 23 flows as the collector current of the third transistor 46 itself, so that the third transistor 46 is turned on.
- the voltage input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 is output from the DC output terminal 13 to the control circuit unit 14.
- the Zener diode 44 conducts.
- the Zener diode 44 becomes conductive, the base current of the first transistor 45 in the second switch 23 flows, so the first transistor 45 is turned on.
- the first transistor 45 is turned on, the voltage between the base and emitter of the second transistor 47 in the second switch 23 does not rise, so that the base current of the second transistor 47 does not flow, and the second transistor 47 Turn off.
- the base current of the third transistor 46 does not flow, and the third transistor 46 is also turned off.
- the above operation is an operation when the Zener diode 44 is not broken.
- an operation when the Zener diode 44 is faulty specifically, an operation when it is faulty in an open state and a short circuit state will be described.
- the Zener diode 44 in an open state, the voltage input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 rises to an overvoltage state, and when the voltage exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the resistance 43 The flowing current increases according to Ohm's law.
- this current value exceeds a predetermined threshold, that is, the fusing current of the current interrupting element 42, the current flowing through the current interrupting element 42 is interrupted by the current interrupting element 42 itself.
- the third transistor 46 which is the main transistor, is on or off, no voltage is output from the DC output terminal 13 to the control circuit unit 14, and the overvoltage protection circuit unit 12
- the overvoltage protection function has been demonstrated. That is, the control circuit unit 14 of the robot control device is protected from the overvoltage state by the overvoltage protection circuit unit 12 that operates as the protection circuit of the robot control device in the present embodiment.
- the Zener diode 44 when the Zener diode 44 is broken in a short circuit state, the voltage value input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 exceeds a predetermined threshold value (when an overvoltage state is reached), as in the case of the failure.
- the second switch 23 operates. Therefore, in a state where the Zener diode 44 is in a short-circuit state, the control circuit unit is connected from the DC output terminal 13 regardless of whether the voltage input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 is below or above this threshold. No voltage is output to 14.
- the first switch 22 that is, the Zener diode 44 fails in the open state, or when the voltage input from the power supply voltage input terminal 11 exceeds a predetermined threshold regardless of the failure in the short circuit state.
- the control circuit unit 14 In the case of an overvoltage state, no voltage is output from the DC output terminal 13 to the control circuit unit 14, the control circuit unit 14 is protected from overvoltage, and the safety of the robot control device is further improved. it can.
- a second current interrupting means configured as a first current interrupting means, and a current interrupting element provided on a current path from the power supply voltage input terminal to the DC output terminal, and a current passing through the current interrupting element. Since it is equipped with a resistance that pulls in to the ground side, even when using a power supply product that has not been certified by a third party, ensure sufficient safety to meet the safety certification. It is possible to realize a protection circuit of the robot controller.
- the resistance value of the resistor 43 is such that the current interrupting element is connected to the power supply voltage when the first switch fails in the open state and the voltage value input from the power supply voltage input terminal exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
- the current cut-off element When a current sufficient to cut off the current input from the input terminal flows through the current cut-off element and the voltage value input from the power supply voltage input terminal is equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold, the current cut-off element It is preferable that the resistance value is set so as not to cut off the current. By setting to such a resistance value, it is possible to realize a protection circuit for the robot control device with a simple circuit configuration.
- the configuration shown in the above embodiment is an example of the configuration of the present invention, and can be combined with another known technique, and a part thereof is omitted without departing from the gist of the present invention. Needless to say, it is possible to change the configuration.
- the present invention is useful as a protection circuit for a robot control device having a minimum circuit configuration while ensuring sufficient safety to meet the safety certification.
