- each light source When the user's finger is not close to each switch part, each light source is turned off, and all the detection electrodes are in the first connection state by the changeover switch. At this time, since all the detection electrodes are connected to the dedicated detection circuit, the apparent detection electrode area is increased and the sensitivity is increased.
- each detection electrode When the user's finger comes close to each switch unit and the first detection value (change in capacitance) output from the dedicated detection circuit exceeds a predetermined first threshold value, all light sources Is turned on. At this time, each detection electrode is switched to the second connection state by the changeover switch. - the proximity determination threshold is a threshold for determining that the driver's finger has approached the area where the switches 110a to 110f are arranged to some extent, and the magnitude of the obtained capacitance.
- the threshold is set so that a proximity state of about 5 cm can be grasped.
- the main unit 140 repeats S110 and S120. If an affirmative determination is made in S120, that is, if it is determined that the driver's finger has approached the area of each of the switches 110a to 110f to some extent, the flow proceeds to S130.
- the main unit 140 turns on the lighting LEDs 130 corresponding to all the electrode portions 113c that have generated the capacitance exceeding the proximity determination threshold as described above (first-step lighting).
- the luminance can be sufficiently recognized by the target design portion 112a even in the daytime. For example, as shown in FIG. 10, if the driver's finger approaches the switches 110b, 110c, 110e, and 110f among the switches 110a to 110f according to the proximity determination threshold, the four switches 110b, 110c, and 110e are selected. , 110f corresponding to 110f are turned on.
- lighting the illumination LED 130 means that “the brightness of each design portion 112a is increased by the brightness adjustment portion compared to the original brightness of the design portion, in other words, it is brighter.
- the lighting state in the first stage corresponds to the increased brightness
- the state when the light is turned off corresponds to the original brightness.
- the main unit 140 again monitors the change in capacitance in each electrode portion 113c, as in S110.
- the main unit 140 determines whether the capacitance obtained from each electrode portion 113c is greater than a preset switch-on determination threshold value.
- the switch-on determination threshold is a value larger than the proximity determination threshold, and is a threshold for determining that the driver's finger is close to a desired switch (for example, the switch 110c).
- the switch-on determination threshold value is a threshold value that allows grasping of a proximity state of, for example, about 3 to 10 mm, and further a state in which a finger contacts the switch, depending on the magnitude of the obtained capacitance.
- the main unit 140 proceeds to S160, and determines whether or not the capacitance obtained from each electrode portion 113c is smaller than a proximity determination threshold provided in advance. If an affirmative determination is made in S160, the process proceeds to S161, the illumination LED 130 lit in S130 is turned off, and the process returns to S110. If a negative determination is made in S160, the process returns to S140.
- the main unit 140 turns on the switch function corresponding to the switch determined to be close by the switch-on determination threshold value in S170, and operates the device corresponding to the switch. For example, if the switch determined to be close by the switch-on determination threshold is 110c, various vehicle information is displayed on the display 12a.
- the main unit 140 turns off all the illumination LEDs 130 that were turned on in S130.
- turning off the illumination LED 130 corresponds to “returning the brightness increased by the brightness adjustment unit to the original brightness”.
- the main unit 140 proceeds to S210 to S280 under the condition that the night illumination is turned on. Then, the same control as the above S110 to S180 is performed.
- that night illumination is turned on means that the first-stage illumination of each illumination LED 130 is turned on.
- the first level lighting corresponds to the original brightness.
- the main unit 140 monitors the change in capacitance in each electrode portion 113c.
- the main unit 140 determines whether or not the capacitance obtained from each electrode portion 113c is larger than the proximity determination threshold value. If a negative determination is made in S220, the main unit 140 repeats S210 and S220.

- the main unit 140 determines whether the capacitance obtained from each electrode portion 113c is greater than a switch-on determination threshold value. If a negative determination is made in S250, the main unit 140 proceeds to S260 and determines whether or not the capacitance obtained from each electrode portion 113c is smaller than the proximity determination threshold value. When an affirmative determination is made in S260, the process proceeds to S261, where the illumination LED 130 lit in S230 is turned off, and the process returns to S210. If a negative determination is made in S260, the process returns to S240.
- the main unit 140 turns on the switch function corresponding to the switch determined to be close by the switch-on determination threshold value in S270, and operates the device corresponding to this switch. For example, if the switch determined to be close by the switch-on determination threshold is 110c, various vehicle information is displayed on the display 12a.
- the main unit 140 After the switch function is turned on as described above (for example, after a predetermined time), in S280, the main unit 140 turns on all the brightness of the illumination LEDs 130 that are turned on (second-stage lighting) in S230. To the original brightness (1st level lighting).
- the main unit 140 has the brightness in the design portion 112a according to the driver's finger operation while the vehicle is stopped or traveling, as described with reference to FIGS. Adjustment control is executed.
- the driver when the driver's finger approaches the plurality of electrode portions 113c, the brightness of the design portions 112a corresponding to all the electrode portions 113c having a capacitance exceeding the proximity determination threshold value is increased. Therefore, the driver can first recognize an area to be operated among the plurality of switches 110a to 110f, and can easily recognize a desired switch (for example, 110c) among them. That is, it is possible to effectively guide the driver to select a desired switch.
- a desired switch for example, 110c
- the capacitance exceeds the proximity determination value due to the proximity of the finger to the plurality of electrode portions 113c and is less than the switch-on determination threshold value. Then, the brightness by the LED 130 for illumination is maintained. Therefore, selection when another switch is newly set as a desired switch can be effectively guided.
- the switch for example, 110c
- the switch-on determination threshold value is turned on and the navigation device 12 is activated
- the brightness of the design part 112a is increased. Therefore, the driver does not remain unsightly for the driver. Then, the driver can recognize that the navigation device 12 has been normally operated.

- LED 130 is turned on. For example, if the finger further approaches the switch 110c, the illumination LED 130 corresponding to the switch 110c is turned on. That is, the lighting state based on the proximity determination threshold (four lightings) is changed to the lighting state based on the target switch detection threshold (one lighting).
- the navigation device 12 is operated with the switch (for example, the switch 110c) corresponding to the electrode portion 113c having a capacitance exceeding the switch-on determination threshold value being turned on. Then, the lighting state based on the target switch detection threshold is turned off.
- the switch for example, the switch 110c
- the brightness is changed so that the design portion 112a whose brightness is increased based on the proximity determination threshold is further narrowed down to the design portion 112a whose brightness is increased based on the target switch detection threshold. It becomes possible to guide the driver to select a desired switch (110c) more effectively.
