Abstract
Description
図1は、二次電池10の外観を示す図である。図2は、二次電池10を構成する電極体14を抜き出して示す図である。図3は、図2のAA線断面の一部を示す。図4は、負極30を構成する粒子状の負極活物質33(以下、「負極活物質粒子33」とする)の断面を示す。
正極20は、正極集電体21と、当該集電体上に形成された正極活物質層22とを有する。正極活物質層22は、正極集電体21の両面に形成されることが好適である。正極集電体21には、導電性を有する薄膜シート、特に正極20の電位範囲で安定な金属箔や合金箔、金属表層を有するフィルム等を用いることができる。正極集電体21を構成する金属は、アルミニウムを主成分とする金属、例えばアルミニウム又はアルミニウム合金であることが好ましい。
負極30は、負極集電体31と、当該集電体上に形成された負極活物質層32とを有する。負極活物質層32は、負極集電体31の両面に形成されることが好適である。負極集電体31には、導電性を有する薄膜シート、特に負極30の電位範囲で安定な金属箔や合金箔、金属表層を有するフィルム等を用いることができる。負極集電体31を構成する金属は、銅を主成分とする金属が好ましい。
セパレータ40には、イオン透過性及び絶縁性を有する多孔性シートが用いられる。多孔性シートの具体例としては、微多孔薄膜、織布、不織布等が挙げられる。セパレータ40の材質としては、セルロース、又はポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等のオレフィン系樹脂が好適である。
非水電解質は、非水溶媒と、非水溶媒に溶解した電解質塩とを含む。非水電解質は、液体電解質(非水電解液)に限定されず、ゲル状ポリマー等を用いた固体電解質であってもよい。非水溶媒には、例えば、エステル類、エーテル類、アセトニトリル等のニトリル類、ジメチルホルムアミド等のアミド類、及びこれらの2種以上の混合溶媒等を用いることができる。
〔負極の作製〕
(1)負極活物質粒子a1の作製
先ず、冶金法で作成されたSiインゴット(3N)を破砕して1mm角程度の粒状Siを作製した。この粒状Siから微細な一次粒子P1を作製すべく、メカニカルミリング装置(転動ボールミル)を用いて粒状Siを粉砕した。具体的には、5kgの粒状Siをステンレスボール(直径30mm、180kg)とともにステンレス容器(200L)に投入し、当該容器をメカニカルミリング装置に設置して、BET比表面積が30m2/g以下となるように50時間処理した。こうして作製されたSi(第1の相A)からなる一次粒子P1は、SEM観察によって測定される平均粒径が100nm以下、BET比表面積が17.1m2/gであった。
ベンゾフェノンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を2当量のエタノールでエステル化したものと、m-フェニレンジアミンとを、モル比で1:1となるようにN-メチル-2-ピロリドン(NMP)に溶解させて、バインダー前駆体溶液を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1と、導電材としてD50が3μm、BET比表面積が12.5m2/gの黒鉛粉末と、上記負極バインダー前駆体溶液とを、重量比で86:4:10(NMP除去及び重合反応後のイミド化した固形分量を基準とする)となるように混合して、負極合剤スラリーを得た。
上記負極合剤スラリーを負極集電体の両面に塗布し、その後、120℃(空気中)で乾燥した。負極集電体には、表面粗さRa(JIS B 0601-1994)が0.25μm、平均山間隔S(JIS B 0601-1994)が0.85μmとなるように電解銅粗化した、厚み18μmの銅合金箔(C7025合金箔、組成;Cu96.2wt%,Ni3wt%,Si0.65wt%,Mg0.15wt%)を用いた。乾燥した塗膜を圧延し、所定のサイズ(長さ380mm、幅52mmの長方形)にカットして、アルゴン雰囲気下で400℃×10時間の熱処理を行った。こうして、負極集電体上に、6.0mg/cm2(両面合計)、厚みが40μm(両面合計)の負極活物質層を形成した。
Li2CO3及びCoCO3を、LiとCoのモル比が1:1となるようにして乳鉢で混合した。その後、当該混合物を空気中で800℃×24時間熱処理し、粉砕して正極活物質を得た。正極活物質粒子は、D50が10μm、BET比表面積が0.37m2/g、組成がLiCoO2で表されるリチウムコバルト複合酸化物粒子であった。
アルゴン雰囲気下で、FECとMECを体積比2:8で混合した非水溶媒に対し、LiPF6を1モル/リットルの濃度で溶解させた後、この溶液に対して0.4wt%の二酸化炭素ガスを溶存させて非水電解液を得た。
上記正極1枚と、上記負極1枚と、セパレータ2枚とを用いて、巻回型構造を有する電極体を作製した。セパレータには、厚み20μm、長さ450mm、幅54.5mm、突き刺し強度340g、空孔率45%のポリエチレン製微多孔膜を用いた。先ず、セパレータを介して正極及び負極が対向するように各部材を積層し、且つ各タブが最外周部に位置するように円柱型の巻き芯を用いて渦巻き状に巻回した。その後、当該巻回体(円筒形状)から巻き芯を引き抜き、円筒の軸方向に直交する一の方向に押し潰して、図2に示すような扁平形状の電極体を得た。
上記電極体及び上記非水電解液を、25℃・1気圧の二酸化炭素雰囲気下でアルミニウムラミネートフィルムから構成される外装体内に収容し、開口部をヒートシールして、図1に示すようなラミネート電池である試験セルT1を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、二相粒子P2を常圧で1300℃×10時間熱処理して作製した負極活物質粒子a2を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルT2を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、二相粒子P2を常圧で1200℃×10時間熱処理して作製した負極活物質粒子a3を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルT3を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、メカニカルミリング時に5kgの粒状Siに対してY2O3粉末(粒径 約7μm)を64g添加して作製した負極活物質粒子a4を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルT4を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、メカニカルミリング時に5kgの粒状Siに対してEr2O3粉末(粒径 約7μm)を57g添加して作製した負極活物質粒子a5を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルT5を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、メカニカルミリング時に5kgの粒状Siに対してLiF粉末(粒径 約7μm)を188g添加して作製した負極活物質粒子a6を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルT6を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、Si粉末とSiO2粉末を等モル比で混合して熱処理を行い、発生した蒸気を回収する気相法にてよって作製した負極活物質粒子b1(Si/Oのモル比が約1)を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルZ1を得た。
負極活物質粒子b1を常圧で1000℃×5時間熱処理して作製した負極活物質粒子b2を用いた以外は比較例1と同様にして、試験セルZ2を得た。
負極活物質粒子a1の替わりに、冶金法で製造されたSiインゴット(3N)を粉砕分級して作製した負極活物質粒子b3を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、試験セルZ3を得た。
以下の計算方法(scherrerの式)により結晶子サイズLcを求めた。

水を分散媒として、堀場製・レーザー回折散乱式粒度分布測定装置「LA-750」を用いて測定した。
N2ガスを吸着媒体として、マイクロメリティックス製・ガス吸着装置「TriStar2 3020」を用いて測定した。
堀場製・酸素窒素分析装置「EMGA-800」を用いて測定した
ラマンスペクトルは、下記方法により測定し、(RI480/RI510)を求めた。
測定装置;堀場製・顕微レーザーラマン分光装置「Lab RAM ARAMIS」
スペクトル処理;得られたスペクトルは、1100cm-1と1700cm-1付近をベースラインポイントに設定してベースラインを差し引いた。
Rigaku製・粉末X線回折装置「RINT-TTR」を用いて測定した。
エスアイアイ・ナノテクノロジー製・ICP発光分光装置「SPS3100」を用いて測定した。
実施例の試験セルT1~T3、及び比較例の試験セルZ1~Z3について、下記の充放電サイクル条件にて充放電特性(初期充放電効率及びサイクル寿命)を評価した。その評価結果を表2に示す。
(充放電サイクル条件)
・1サイクル目の充電条件
0.05Cの電流で4時間定電流充電を行った後、0.2Cの電流で電池電圧が4.20Vとなるまで定電流充電を行い、さらに4.20Vの電圧で電流値が0.05Cとなるまで定電圧充電を行った。
・1サイクル目の放電条件
0.2Cの電流で電池電圧が2.75Vとなるまで定電流放電を行った。
・2サイクル目以降の充電条件
1Cの電流で電池電圧が4.20Vとなるまで定電流充電を行い、さらに4.20Vの電圧で電流値が0.05Cとなるまで定電圧充電を行った。
・2サイクル目以降の放電条件
1Cの電流で電池電圧が2.75Vとなるまで定電流放電を行った。
・初期充放電効率=(1サイクル目の放電容量/1サイクル目の充電容量)×100
・負荷特性=(放電レート1C時の放電容量/放電容量0.2C時の放電容量)×100
・充放電サイクル特性
(1)10サイクル時の容量維持率(10サイクル目の放電容量を3サイクル目の放電容量で除した値)
(2)250サイクル時の容量維持率(250サイクル目の放電容量を3サイクル目の放電容量で除した値)
負極活物質粒子a1及び結晶性が高い負極活物質粒子b3は、結晶性Siに由来するピーク強度と非晶質Siに由来するピーク強度の比率(RI480/RI510)が0.01であり小さい値を示す。これに対し、酸素を導入した負極活物質粒子b1は非晶質Siの割合が大きく、ラマン強度比(RI480/RI510)は約0.95であった。即ち、負極活物質粒子a1とb1とでは上記ラマン強度比の差が大きく、異なる物性をもつことが分かる。
負極活物質粒子b2はb1を1000℃で熱処理した粉末であり、b2のラマン測定の結果、上記ラマン強度比は0.46となり、熱処理なしのb1と比較して低下はするものの、熱処理を行っても非晶質構造が残存していると想定される。
負極活物質粒子a1及び熱処理を行った負極活物質粒子b2は、2θ=28.4にピークが観測され、結晶化が進んでいることが分かる。さらに、負極活物質粒子a1では、2θ=21.4付近にSiO2に由来するピークは観測されず、SiO2の構造化がほとんど見られないことが分かる。
Claims (5)
- 非水電解質二次電池に用いられる粒子状の負極活物質であって、珪素を含有する第1の相と、該第1の相の周囲に形成された珪素酸化物を含有する第2の相とを含む領域を粒子内に複数備え、ラマン分光測定により得られるラマンスペクトルの波長510cm-1の強度に対する波長480cm-1の強度の比が0.1以下であり、X線回折測定により得られるX線回折パターンの2θ=28.4の強度に対する2θ=21.6の強度の比が0.1以下である、非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質。
- 請求項1に記載の非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質において、前記領域に含有される珪素と酸素のモル比が、O/Si≦0.3である、非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質において、前記領域には、前記第1及び第2の相を構成する化合物と異なる珪素化合物を含有する第3の相、及び非珪素化合物を含有する第4の相のうち少なくとも一方が含まれる、非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質。
- 請求項3に記載の非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質において、前記非珪素化合物が希土類酸化物または金属フッ化物である、非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質二次電池用負極活物質を含む負極と、正極と、非水電解質と、を備える非水電解質二次電池。
