Abstract

L'invention concerne une presse à balles (1) destinée à presser des matières en vrac lesquelles peuvent être pressées, selon un sens de pressage (10), à partir d'une zone d'introduction (2) moyen d'un piston de pressage (3) dans une chambre de pressage (5) ouverte sur un seul côté, puis quitter la chambre de pressage (5) selon un sens d'éjection sous forme d'une balle (9) ayant sensiblement la forme d'un pavé droit et arriver dans un canal à balles (11) dont l'entrée et la sortie sont ouvertes, un dispositif d'enveloppement (15, 16) étant placé en aval de la sortie du canal à balles (11) pour y pourvoir la balle (9), sur ses faces circonférentielles qui sont transversales au sens d'éjection, de bandages (28). Pour réaliser une telle presse d'une manière plus compacte tout en rendant son fonctionnement plus sûr et en simplifiant sa conception, le dispositif d'enveloppement selon l'invention est fixé à demeure à la sortie du canal à balles (11) et le canal à balles (11) selon l'invention est associé à un système de réglage (17 à 24) permettant de déplacer la balle (9) à travers le canal à balles (11) et à travers le dispositif d'enveloppement (15, 16). En outre, l'invention concerne un procédé lequel est destiné à presser des matières en vrac pour les transformer en balles (9) et à pourvoir les balles (9) pressées de bandages et lequel consiste à introduire les matières en vrac à presser, selon un sens de pressage (10) prédéfini, dans une chambre de pressage (5) et à les y presser pour obtenir des balles (9) lesquelles sont ensuite éjectées, sous pression et transversalement au sens de pressage (10), dans un canal à balles (11) et vers un dispositif d'enveloppement (15, 16). Selon ledit procédé, la balle (9) est déplacée, suivant un mouvement de réglage accordé avec la pose des bandages, de manière à sortir du canal à balles (11) et passer à travers le dispositif d'enveloppement (15, 16) qui est fixé à demeure à la sortie du canal à balles (11).
