前記第1レバー1と前記第2レバー2との所定の相対角度迄の範囲内における相対接近揺動により前記突出タイ部4aが引張られる状態に、前記両レバー1,2と前記引締め機構aとを連係する引締め連係機構bと、
前記第1レバー1と前記第2レバー2との前記所定の相対角度を超えての相対接近揺動により前記突出タイ部4aが切断される状態に、前記両レバー1,2と前記切断機構cとを連係する切断連係機構dとを有し、
前記引締め機構aによる引張り力が設定値未満であるときは前記引締め連係機構bは動作させ、かつ、前記切断連係機構dは動作させない引締状態にするとともに、前記引締め機構aによる引張り力が設定値に達すると前記引締め連係機構bは動作させず、かつ、前記切断連係機構dを動作させる切換機構eが設けられていることを特徴とするものである。
前記切断機構cは、前記ヘッド部5に位置するタイ部4を押出し変形させて、その変形部4bを前記ヘッド部5に予め外嵌されているタイ部4の孔10に係入させる押出し機構hを含んでいることを特徴とするものである。
前記引締め機構aにより、前記第1レバー1と前記第2レバー2とが最も開き揺動した待機状態から前記両レバー1,2が相対接近揺動されるに伴い、前記突出タイ部4aが引張り部iに把持されてから前記引張り部iで引張られる状態に構成されているとともに、
前記突出タイ部4aが引張り部iに把持されていないときは、前記突出タイ部4aの前記ヘッド部5への戻り移動を阻止する戻り防止機構jが設けられていることを特徴とするものである。
前記引締め機構aによる引張り力の最大値を変更設定可能な引締め調節機構fが設けられていることを特徴とするものである。
故に、引締め工程であっても切断工程であっても、第1,2レバーを握る状態のままで良いから、引締め操作から切断操作に移る際に第2レバーから第3レバーへ複数本の手指の掛け換えるという従来の煩わしい問題が解消されるようになる。
その結果、複数本の手指の掛け換えをすることなく、一対のレバーの握り込み操作だけで引締め操作と切断操作が行えるようになり、結束作業がより簡単化されて使い勝手に優れる手動結束工具を提供することができる。
実施形態1による手動結束工具Aは、図1~図4に示すように、切断機構cとタイ保持部gとを先端部に、かつ、第1レバー1を基端部にそれぞれ有する工具本体3、工具本体3に軸心Pで枢支される第2レバー2、引締め機構a、引締め連係機構b、切断連係機構d、切換機構e、及び、引締め調節機構fなどを有して構成されている。引締め機構aと引締め連係機構bと切断連係機構dと切換機構eとは主に工具本体3に設けられ、引締め調節機構fは主に第1レバー1に設けられている。また、切断機構cは押出し機構hを含んだ構成とされている。
それから、図3,9に示すように、第2レバー2を第1位置t1から第2位置t2に移動するまで第1レバー1と第2レバー2とを相対接近揺動させ、引締め機構aの作動によりタイ保持部gに保持されているヘッド部5に対して突出タイ部4aを強制的に引張ることとなる握り込み操作及び握り解除操作を行う。
この第2位置t2から第3位置t3への第2レバー2の揺動により、押出し機構h及び切断機構cが作動し(図12,13参照)、タイ部4がヘッド部5に係止され、かつ、ヘッド部5のすぐ傍の箇所にて突出タイ部4aが切断される、というものである。
タイ部4は、厚さの薄い肉薄で幅の細い鋼板帯で成り、長傾斜縁7aと短傾斜縁7bとでなる尖り先端7と、その尖り先端近くの一対の傾斜した角丸長四角形状の孔7cと、根元側の切起し爪8と、最根元側のストッパー9と、係合孔10とを有している。
ヘッド部5は、尖り先端7からタイ部4に差し込まれ、切起し爪8を弾性変形させて通過し、その切起し爪8とストッパー9との間の位置に係入装備される。このヘッド部5がタイ部4に装備されてなる結束タイBは、図7に示すように、逃し孔5bと係合孔10と略円形切欠き5cとが一直線上に並ぶ(重なる)状態が可能に構成されている。
工具本体3には、支点Xを中心に揺動移動可能な緊張アーム12、通常は軸心Pを仮想中心として揺動可能な三角リンク13、切断機構c、支点Yで揺動可能なチャック爪15、ベースアーム11用の戻しバネ16などが設けられている。
ベースアーム11には、支点Zで揺動可能な係止爪21、係止爪21を待機状態に戻そうとする復帰ばね22、戻しバネ16用として枢支連結されるバネ受23などが装備されている。
第2レバー2には合成樹脂などによるグリップ24が被せられ、先端にはカッターローラ25が支承され、先端側には直線状の係合溝26が形成されている。係合溝26は、その先端側(タイ保持部g側)ほど軸心Pに関する径寸法が大となるように傾斜する状態に配置設定されている。
逆に、調整ツマミ17を右に回して緩めると、四角ナット35が図3において右側に(調整ツマミ17側に)移動してバネ受19から離れるので、引締め力調整バネ18は膨張して弾性力が弱まる。従って、緊張アーム12が三角リンク13を押圧付勢する力が小さくなり、設定引締め力が減少する方向に調節される。
ポンチ体28は、詳しくは後述するが、タイ部4を押しての塑性変形によって内側のタイ部4及びヘッド部5に係合させるものであり、ピン34(後述)などと共に押出し機構hを構成している。
切断刃27は、その根元部がホルダ30の左右一対の前側壁30b,30b間に配置され、自身の貫通孔(符記省略)に収容されるポンチ体28と共に貫通されるピン34でホルダ30に一体化されている。
切断機構cは、第2レバー2で操作されない通常時(後述する「ポンチ切断工程」以外のとき)は、戻しばね29の弾性により、ホルダ30の表壁30cが上方突起14aに当接して、刃部27a及び先端尖り状のポンチ部28aがタイ保持部gに保持されている結束タイBから離れている待機位置に復帰付勢されている。なお、ポンチ部28aの先端形状は、ピン角でも僅かに丸められたもの(図13参照)でも良い。
左右一対の板材を有してなるベースアーム11の内側に、左右一対の側壁部2a,2aを有する第2レバー2が配備され、それら側壁部2a,2aの間に三角リンク13が配備され、三角リンク13を構成する左右一対の板部13A,13Aの間に緊張アーム12が位置する状態に構成されている。
また、三角リンク13の中間部には中間ピン13cが支持されており、その中間ピン13cが係合溝26に相対回動及び溝長手方向移動が可能に挿通係合されている。
また、その位置決めされた状態においては、図13に示すように、ヘッド部5の逃し孔5b及び略円形切欠き5c並びにタイ部4の係合孔10と、ポンチ部28aとが互いに同軸心となるように寸法設定されている。
タイ部4におけるヘッド部5を貫いて突出する突出タイ部4aを、工具本体3に形成されるタイ路孔6に差し込む操作を行うことにより、図5(b)に示すように、ベースアーム11先端部の通し路11aを通って尖り先端7が機外突出される状態が齎される。
この待機状態では、係止爪21の基端側突起21bで尻部15bが押されていて、捩りコイルばね32(図4参照)の弾性力に抗してチャック爪15が強制揺動させられ、チャック部15aがガイド壁6aからタイ部4の厚さ分以上明確に離れている。従って、チャック爪15は突出タイ部4aに何らの作用も与えない状態(戻り防止機構jの非動作状態)になっている。
加えて、係止爪21は、復帰ばね22の弾性力によってギヤ歯状の先端部21cが、ベースアーム11(図10参照)の先端内壁11bからタイ部4の厚み以上明確に離れており、係止爪21も突出タイ部4aに何らの作用も与えない状態になっている。
このとき、捩りコイルばね32によりチャック爪15は突出タイ部4aに軽く押付けられており、突出タイ部4aがヘッド部5に戻り移動することが阻止されるセルフロック作用が生じ得る状態になっているが、突出タイ部4aがより突出する方向への移動は許容される(図8,9参照)。
突出タイ部4aが引張られることにより、被結束対象Kに巻き付いているタイ部4の長さが短くなり、被結束対象Kが引締められてゆく引締め工程が行われる。なお、図8は握り込みの途中状態、即ち、引締め工程の途中状態を示している。
これにより、チャック部15aとガイド壁6aとの間で突出タイ部4aが挟まれる状態になるので、前述したように、ヘッド部5への戻り移動は、チャック爪15のセルフロック作用が生じて阻止されるようになる。つまり、ガイド壁6aを有する下部ボディ14Aとチャック爪15とによって戻り防止機構jが構成されている。
つまり、第2レバー2の第1位置t1から第2位置t2への相対揺動により、引締め連係機構b及び引締め機構aが作動し、突出タイ部4aが係止爪21によって挟持されて引張られる引締め工程が行われるようになる。
この第2位置t2は、図9,10に示すように、緊張アーム12の支点Xを有する支軸33の大径土台部33aに、ベースアーム11の基端側の板厚端面11cが当接することで決まる位置である。なお、図10は、図9における要部の正面図である。
この第2レバー2が復帰揺動している状態では、前述したチャック爪15によるセルフロック作用が機能し、引張られた突出タイ部4aが戻り移動しないように係止保持されている。加えて、引締め力調整バネ18の弾性力が実質的に三角リンク13に作用しないこと、及び、復帰ばね22の弾性力が作用することにより、係止爪21による突出タイ部4aへの挟持力が消滅し、引張られた突出タイ部4aはそのままで第2レバー2及びベースアーム11だけが復帰揺動する。
即ち、引締め力が設定値になると、その設定値を決めている引締め調節機構f(引締め力調整バネ18)による支持ローラ31と先端凹み12aとの係合が維持できなくなるとともに、セルフロック作用を発揮している係止爪21及びベースアーム11は、それ以上タイ引張り方向に揺動できないようになる。そのため、引き続き第2レバー2が握り込みされるに伴い、図11に示すように、中間ピン13cが係合溝26内で第1レバー1側に移動し、それによって支持ローラ31で押される緊張アーム12が支点X回りで第1レバー1側に退入揺動して、支持ローラ31が先端凹み12aから外れ移動する。
そして、図12,図13に示すように、戻しばね29の弾性力に抗してホルダ30とこれに一体化されている切断刃27及びポンチ体28が強制突出移動される。なお、図11,13などにおいては、簡単のため切起し爪8やストッパー9は省略してある。
また、切断刃27先端の刃部27aは、突出タイ部4aをヘッド部5の間際の位置にて押し切って切断する。
このとき、突出タイ部4aはヘッド部5とガイド壁6aとで両側を支持されており、言わば両持ち状態とされている箇所を刃部27aが押し切ることになり、余分な突出タイ部4aは確実で円滑に切断される。
しかしながら、その押されるタイ部4は、言わばヘッド部5による片持ち支持状態にあり、かつ、もともと先端壁11Aによって被結束対象側に曲り癖が付いていることもあり、少し押される程度であって刃部27aによる何らの作用も受けない。
円形の塑性変形部4bが係合孔10及び逃し孔5bに圧入されたようになるので、この確実なポンチ係合により、タイ部4自体の抜け止め及びヘッド部5との一体化が一挙に行われ、設定された引締め力での結束状態を確実に維持できるものとなる。
なお、突出タイ部4aが切断された後は、係止爪21による三角リンク13への規制が解消するので、第2レバー2の第1位置t1への戻り揺動に伴い、支持ローラ31が先端凹み12aに再係入されて引締め調節機構fが有効に機能する状態(図3参照)に戻る。
切断連係機構dは、カッターローラ25、三角リンク13、係合溝26、緊張アーム12を有して構成されている。切換機構eは、引締め力調整バネ18、緊張バー20、緊張アーム12、三角リンク13を有して構成されている。
そして、切換機構eは、引締め機構aによる突出タイ部4aの引張り力が設定値未満であるときは引締め連係機構bは動作させ、かつ、切断連係機構dは動作させない引締め状態にするとともに、引締め機構aによる突出タイ部4aの引張り力が設定値に達すると引締め連係機構bは動作させず、かつ、切断連係機構dを動作させるように機能する。
なお、実施形態1においては、結束タイBとしてメタルタイを用いるので、切断機構cは押出し機構hを含む構成とされているが、ヘッド部がタイの戻り防止機構を含む構成の結束タイを用いる場合には、切断機構cのみ備える手動結束工具Aでも良い。
加えて、戻り防止機構jにより、突出タイ部4aが引張り部iに把持されていないとき(少なくとも復帰揺動工程のとき)は、突出タイ部4aのヘッド部5への戻り移動が阻止されるように機能する。これにより、手指の力を抜いて第1,2レバー1,2の握り込みを解除すれば、その途端から戻り防止機構jが作動するので、引き締められたタイ部4の不測の戻り移動が生じないように工夫されている。
従って、複数本の手指の掛け換えをすることなく、一対のレバーの握り込み操作だけで引締め操作と切断操作が行えるようになり、結束作業がより簡単化されて使い勝手に優れる手動結束工具Aを提供することができたのである。

Claims (4)
- ヘッド部を貫いて突出している突出タイ部を前記ヘッド部に対して引張る引締め機構と、
前記突出タイ部を前記ヘッド部付近の箇所において切断する切断機構と、
互いに枢支連結されている第1レバー及び第2レバーと、
前記第1レバーと前記第2レバーとの所定の相対角度迄の範囲内における相対接近揺動により前記突出タイ部が引張られる状態に、前記両レバーと前記引締め機構とを連係する引締め連係機構と、
前記第1レバーと前記第2レバーとの前記所定の相対角度を超えての相対接近揺動により前記突出タイ部が切断される状態に、前記両レバーと前記切断機構とを連係する切断連係機構とを有し、
前記引締め機構による引張り力が設定値未満であるときは前記引締め連係機構は動作させ、かつ、前記切断連係機構は動作させない引締状態にするとともに、前記引締め機構による引張り力が設定値に達すると前記引締め連係機構は動作させず、かつ、前記切断連係機構を動作させる切換機構が設けられている手動結束工具。 - 前記切断機構は、前記ヘッド部に位置するタイ部を押出し変形させて、その変形部を前記ヘッド部が予め外嵌されているタイ部の孔に係入させる押出し機構を含んでいる請求項1に記載の手動結束工具。
- 前記引締め機構により、前記第1レバーと前記第2レバーとが最も開き揺動した待機状態から前記両レバーが相対接近揺動されるに伴い、前記突出タイ部が引張り部に把持されてから前記引張り部で引張られる状態に構成されているとともに、
前記突出タイ部が引張り部に把持されていないときは、前記突出タイ部の前記ヘッド部への戻り移動を阻止する戻り防止機構が設けられている請求項2に記載の手動結束工具。 - 前記引締め機構による引張り力の最大値を変更設定可能な引締め調節機構が設けられている請求項1~3の何れか一項に記載の手動結束工具。
