- Droplet molding is a molding method in which glass droplets dropped from a nozzle are directly received by a mold and pressed into a final shape. In this molding method, the temperature of the glass is controlled by controlling the temperature of the nozzle, and the size of the dropped glass droplet is controlled from the relationship between the temperature and the viscosity of the glass. Examples of the glass that can be used for the droplet forming include those proposed in Patent Documents 1 to 3.
- the refractive index (nd) is about 1.64 to 1.72
- the Abbe number ( ⁇ d) is 29 to 36
- the glass deformation temperature (At) is 520 ° C. or less
- the liquidus temperature (TL) is Glasses of 900 ° C. or lower are disclosed.
- the glass of the Example of patent document 1 contains BaO with the large effect of lowering

- FIG. 5 is a schematic process diagram showing a first specific example of lens production by droplet forming.
- the schematic process drawing which shows the 2nd specific example of lens preparation by droplet shaping
- P 2 O 5 is a main component that forms glass and is an essential component. If the amount is less than 18%, a stable glass cannot be obtained. Moreover, when it exceeds 38%, a weather resistance will worsen. Therefore, the content of P 2 O 5 is set to 18 to 38%. A preferred range is 20 to 36%. More preferably, it is 25 to 30%.
- B 2 O 3 is effective in stabilizing the glass, but if it exceeds 15%, the liquidus temperature (TL) becomes high and it becomes difficult to maintain the liquidus temperature (TL) at 900 ° C. or lower. Therefore, the content of B 2 O 3 is set to 0 to 15%.
- a preferred range is 0 to 10%. More preferably, it is 0 to 8%.
- the total amount of P 2 O 5 and B 2 O 3 is set in the range of 23 to 40 mol% in consideration of low Tg, low TL, and low ⁇ .
- a preferred range is from 24 to 38%. More preferably, it is in the range of 26 to 34%.
- Nb 2 O 5 has the effect of increasing the refractive index (nd), increasing dispersion, and decreasing the Abbe number ( ⁇ d).
- the content is 4% or more, the glass becomes stable. However, if it exceeds 28%, the liquidus temperature (TL) increases rapidly, and it becomes difficult to maintain the liquidus temperature (TL) at 900 ° C. or lower. Therefore, the content of Nb 2 O 5 is set to 4 to 28%.
- a preferred range is 5 to 23%. More preferably, it is 9 to 17%.
- TiO 2 also has the effect of increasing the refractive index and decreasing the Abbe number ( ⁇ d), and has the effect of lowering the liquidus temperature (TL) when used simultaneously with Nb 2 O 5 . - the content of Nb 2 O 5 + TiO 2 is set to 10 to 30%.
- a preferred range is from 12 to 26%. More preferably, it is in the range of 13 to 23%.
- Li 2 O and Na 2 O each exceed 32%, the glass is liable to volatilize, so that the striae easily enters. Therefore, Li 2 O: 0 to 32% and Na 2 O: 0 to 32% are preferable ranges, and more preferable ranges are Li 2 O 0 to 28% and Na 2 O 0 to 30%. More preferable ranges are 0 to 25% for Li 2 O and 0 to 25% for Na 2 O.
- K 2 O acts so that the linear expansion coefficient ( ⁇ ) is slightly larger than that of Li 2 O or Na 2 O, and the liquidus temperature (TL) is also slightly deteriorated. Therefore, if it exceeds 30%, it becomes difficult to maintain the linear expansion coefficient ( ⁇ ) of 130 ⁇ 10 ⁇ 7 / ° C. or lower and the liquidus temperature (TL) of 900 ° C. or lower. Therefore, K 2 O: 0 to 30% is a preferable range, and a range of 0 to 25% is particularly preferable. A more preferable range is 0 to 23%, and a further preferable range is 0 to 15%.
- ZnO has the effects of increasing the refractive index, lowering the glass transition temperature (Tg) and glass yield point temperature (At), and reducing the linear expansion coefficient ( ⁇ ). If it is less than 21%, the effect is not sufficient, and if it exceeds 38%, the glass tends to be devitrified, making it difficult to make the liquidus temperature (TL) 900 ° C. or less. Therefore, the ZnO content is set to 21 to 38%. A preferred range is 22-36%. More preferably, it is 24 to 34%.
- the ratio of the mole percent of the total mole% and Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O of ZnO in a range of from ZnO / (Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O) 0.8 to 2.0 linear expansion coefficient While maintaining ( ⁇ ) at 130 ⁇ 10 ⁇ 7 / ° C. or lower, it is easy to maintain the glass transition temperature (Tg) at 500 ° C. or lower and the liquidus temperature (TL) to 900 ° C. or lower. Become.
- This ratio: ZnO / (Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O) is preferably in the range of 0.9 to 1.5. More preferably, it is in the range of 1.0 to 1.3.
- MgO, CaO, and SrO each have an effect of lowering the liquid phase temperature (TL), and can be used to adjust the optical constant by substituting ZnO.
- Tg glass transition temperature
- At glass deformation temperature
- More preferable ranges are 0 to 10% for MgO, 0 to 12% for CaO, and 0 to 12% for SrO. More preferable ranges are 0 to 5% for MgO, 0 to 10% for CaO, and 0 to 10% for SrO.
- Sb 2 O 3 and SnO 2 can be used as clarifiers or decolorizers during melting.
- An amount of 0 to 0.5% is sufficient (Sb 2 O 3 : 0 to 0.5%, SnO 2 : 0 to 0.5%). If not necessary, it is preferably not contained.
- Al 2 O 3 is an effective component for weather resistance.
- the composition range containing a large amount of ZnO as in the present invention if it exceeds 3%, the glass tends to devitrify. Therefore, Al 2 O 3 : 0 to 3% is a preferable range, and a more preferable range is 0 to 2%. It is best not to use if there is no problem in weather resistance.
- La 2 O 3 , Gd 2 O 3 , Y 2 O 3 , and Ta 2 O 5 can be used for adjustment of optical constants, but all of them are preferably used at 3% or less because the liquidus temperature (TL) deteriorates.
- TL liquidus temperature
- a more preferable range is 0 to 1% in each case. It is best not to contain it if it is not needed.
- WO 3 and Bi 2 O 3 are components that lower the liquidus temperature (TL) of the glass and lower the glass transition temperature (Tg) and the glass yield point temperature (At), but they react with the mold. Is not included, since the glass easily proceeds remarkably and the glass is fused to the mold.
- BaO is an effective component that lowers the liquidus temperature (TL), but it is preferably not contained since it falls under the category of poisonous substances and deleterious substances under the Deleterious Substances Control Law.
- F component (fluoride), PbO, TeO 2 , Tl 2 O, and CdO are preferably free from any component from the viewpoint of ensuring the safety of workers in consideration of the working environment during production.
- GeO 2 is preferably not contained since it is an expensive raw material.
- the glass transition temperature (Tg) is preferably 500 ° C. or lower, more preferably 480 ° C. or lower, and 460 ° C. or lower. Is more preferable, and it is most preferable to set the temperature to 450 ° C. or lower.
