Definitions
- the present invention relates to a wiper blade that is provided on the distal end side of an arm that is driven to swing by a drive source and wipes a wiping surface.
- a vehicle such as an automobile is equipped with a wiper device that wipes off deposits such as rainwater and dust adhering to the wiping surface of the windshield to ensure the driver's view.
- the wiper device includes a wiper motor (drive source), a wiper arm (arm) that is driven to swing through a link mechanism, and a wiper blade that wipes the wiping surface.
- the wiper blade is provided on the distal end side of the wiper arm, and includes a blade rubber that is in sliding contact with the wiping surface and a rubber holder that holds the blade rubber. Then, by operating the wiper switch in the passenger compartment to rotationally drive the wiper motor, the wiper arm is driven to swing through the link mechanism, whereby the wiper blade reciprocates on the windshield and adheres to the wiping surface. The deposits are wiped away.
- the wiper device mounted on such a vehicle is provided at the front end portion of the windshield, and the wiper blade is disposed outside the vehicle. Therefore, the wiper blade receives a traveling wind when the vehicle travels. In particular, when the vehicle travels at a high speed, a lift force that lifts the wiper blade from the windshield is generated, which causes a problem that the wiping performance of the wiper blade is lowered. In view of this, wiper blades of various shapes have been developed in order to suppress the lift force acting on the wiper blade (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).
- the wiper blades described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 have fin portions having inclined surfaces along the longitudinal direction of the blade rubber.
- a down force that presses the blade rubber toward the wiping surface is generated. Due to the occurrence of this down force, lifting of the blade rubber from the windshield is suppressed, and as a result, the wiping performance of the wiper blade is enhanced.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a wiper blade that can suppress the occurrence of a water pulling phenomenon due to negative pressure while suppressing the lifting of the wiper blade.
- the wiper blade of the present invention is a wiper blade that is provided on the distal end side of an arm that is driven to swing by a drive source and wipes the wiping surface, the holder being rotatably attached to the distal end portion of the arm, From the direction along the wiping surface, the blade is attached to the holder along the longitudinal direction, and is provided on the side opposite to the wiping surface side of at least one of the holder and the blade.
- a fin portion that receives the wind of the blade toward the wiping surface, and at least a swing center side of the blade in both longitudinal ends of the blade, and protrudes toward the wiping surface to And a covering member that partially covers a side portion of the blade.
- the wiper blade of the present invention is characterized in that the protruding height of the covering member is set to a protruding height that covers at least the other portion except the lip portion of the blade.
- the wiper blade of the present invention is characterized in that a tilt allowable gap that allows tilting of the lip portion of the blade is provided between the covering member and the blade.
- the wiper blade of the present invention is characterized in that a taper portion that allows tilting of the wiper blade is provided on the side opposite to the blade side in the direction along the wiping surface of the covering member.
- the wiper blade of the present invention is characterized in that a cap is provided at an end of the blade, and the covering member is provided integrally with the cap.
- the wiper blade of the present invention is characterized in that the cap and the covering member are formed of different materials.
- the fin portion that receives the wind from the direction along the wiping surface and presses the blade toward the wiping surface on the side opposite to the wiping surface side of at least one of the holder and the blade.
- a covering member that protrudes toward the wiping surface and partially covers the side portion of the blade is provided on at least the oscillation center side of the blade in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, the lift of the wiper blade can be suppressed by the fin portion. Further, the wind that flows from the front side to the back side at the end of the blade on the swing center side can be rectified by the covering member, and the wind can flow along the longitudinal direction on the back side of the wiper blade. . Therefore, it is possible to weaken the generation of the vortex generated on the back side of the wiper blade and suppress the occurrence of the water pulling phenomenon, and as a result, it can be wiped well without leaving rainwater or the like on the wiping surface.
- the projecting height of the covering member is set to a projecting height that covers at least the other portion except the lip portion of the blade, so that the covering member is brought into close contact with the wiping surface.
- the rectifying effect by the covering member can be further increased, and as a result, the occurrence of the water pulling phenomenon can be further suppressed.
- the tilt allowable gap that allows tilting of the lip portion of the blade is provided between the covering member and the blade, the lip portion of the blade is accurately tilted during the wiping operation of the wiper blade.
- the occurrence of wiping unevenness (decrease in wiping performance) can be suppressed.
- the wiper blade of the present invention since the tapered portion that allows the wiper blade to tilt is provided on the side opposite to the blade side in the direction along the wiping surface of the covering member, the wiper blade tilts during the wiper blade wiping operation. When this is done, the covering member can be prevented from coming into contact with the wiping surface, and the occurrence of uneven wiping (decrease in wiping performance) can be suppressed.
- the cap is provided at the end of the blade and the covering member is provided integrally with the cap, the end of the blade is prevented from being exposed to the outside, and the appearance of the wiper blade is improved. be able to.
- the cap and the covering member are formed of different materials, for example, the cap can be made of hard plastic, and the covering member can be made of flexible rubber.

- a positioning concave portion 24f with which the positioning convex portion 23d engages is provided. As described above, the covering member 23 is supported at the three positions of the engagement recesses 24e and the positioning recesses 24f, so that both can be securely fixed without being displaced.
- the blade rubber 22 can be inserted into the blade mounting groove of the rubber holder 21 through the notch 24d in a state where the covering member 23 is fixed to the cap 24. On the contrary, when the blade rubber 22 is removed for maintenance or the like, it is performed through the notch 24d.
- the covering member 23 is formed of a material different from that of the cap 24, and is formed in a substantially U shape by an elastic material such as rubber.
- the covering member 23 includes a covering main body 23b having an opening 23a and a curved portion CU, a pair of leg portions 23c that are provided integrally with the covering main body 23b and engage with the engaging recesses 24e of the cap 24, and a covering main body 23b. And a positioning convex portion 23d that engages with the positioning concave portion 24f of the cap 24.
- the covering member 23 is attached to the covering member attaching portion 24 c of the cap 24 and protrudes from the main body portion 22 a side of the blade rubber 22 to the wiping surface side of the windshield 11.
- the opening 23a of the covering member 23 and the notch 24d of the cap 24 overlap as shown in FIG. 5, and therefore the lip 22b of the blade rubber 22 is exposed to the outside through the notch 24d and the opening 23a. is doing.
- the thickness dimension of the covering member 23 (covering body 23b), that is, the protruding height from the covering member mounting portion 24c, when the blade rubber 22 is viewed from the side, at least only the lip portion 22b is externally provided.
- the height dimension h is set to be exposed. That is, the other portions (the main body portion 22 a and the neck portion 22 c) except the lip portion 22 b of the blade rubber 22 are covered with the covering member 23.
- This height dimension h is as much as possible on the wiping surface of the windshield 11 without bringing the covering member 23 into contact with the wiping surface of the windshield 11 when the lip portion 22b tilts as shown by the broken line arrow S1 in the figure. The height is close.
- the covering member 23 partially covers the side portion of the blade rubber 22 from the three directions of the front side, the back side, and the end side of the wiper blade 20.
- the covering member 23 may be separated from the wiping surface of the windshield 11, and for example, when the blade rubber 22 is viewed from the side, the height may be set such that the neck portion 22c is exposed to the outside.
- a tilt allowable gap G is formed between the covering member 23 and the blade rubber 22.
- This allowable tilting gap G is for avoiding the lip portion 22b of the blade rubber 22 from coming into contact with the covering member 23 when tilted in the direction of the broken line arrow S1 in the figure. Can be flexibly tilted without being restricted by anything, and as a result, the wiping performance of the wiper blade 20 is secured.
- a pair of tapered portions T are provided on the front side and the back side of the wiper blade 20 in the covering member 23, that is, on the side opposite to the blade rubber 22 side in the direction along the wiping surface of the windshield 11.
- Each taper portion T is formed such that the thickness dimension (height dimension h) of the covering member 23 gradually decreases as the distance from the blade rubber 22 increases. Thereby, even if the wiper blade 20 tilts in the direction of the broken line arrow S2 in the figure, contact between the covering member 23 and the wiping surface of the windshield 11 can be avoided. That is, each taper portion T allows the wiper blade 20 to tilt and ensures the wiping performance of the wiper blade 20.
- the positioning convex portion 23d of the covering member 23 is engaged with the positioning concave portion 24f of the cap 24 as shown in FIG.
- each leg portion 23c of the covering member 23 is engaged with each engaging recess 24e of the cap 24 while elastically deforming in the direction of the broken line arrow M in the figure by grasping the covering main body 23b of the covering member 23, etc.
- the state shown in FIG. 8 shows a state where the wiper blade 20 is in the upper inverted position URP, specifically, a state where the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade 20 and the longitudinal direction of the vehicle 10 are shifted by 20 ° to 30 °. .
- the wiper blade 20 receives the travel wind W from a direction shifted by 20 ° to 30 ° with respect to the reference line C.
- the traveling wind W branches and flows to the fin portion 21e side and the blade rubber 22 side of the rubber holder 21.
- the traveling wind W that has flowed toward the fin portion 21e collides with the inclined surface 21f (see FIG. 2) of the fin portion 21e from the front side, thereby generating a downforce on the wiper blade 20, and consequently the front of the wiper blade 20. Lifting from the glass 11 is suppressed. Thereafter, the traveling wind W that has flowed toward the fin portion 21 e is guided to the back side of the wiper blade 20 and becomes a vortex on the back side of the wiper blade 20.
- FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view corresponding to FIG. 6 showing a wiper blade of a comparative example not provided with a covering member
- FIG. 10 is a fluid analysis diagram for explaining a negative pressure generation state in the wiper blade of FIG.
- the cap 24 in the wiper blade 20 of the comparative example does not include the covering member 23, and thus the traveling wind W that flows to the blade rubber 22 side is indicated by a two-dot chain line arrow F ⁇ b> 2 in FIG. 4. As shown, it flows from the front side of the blade rubber 22 to the back side of the blade rubber 22 at a stretch. At this time, a vortex is generated on the back side of the blade rubber 22, whereby the traveling wind W differs from the wiper blade 20 (the present invention) including the covering member 23 along the longitudinal direction on the back side of the wiper blade 20. It becomes difficult to flow.
- the range of the location where a large negative pressure is generated is wider on the back side of the wiper blade 20 than in FIG. 8 (the present invention). I understand that. This means that rain water or the like is easily drawn into the wiping range 11a of the windshield 11 (a water drawing phenomenon is likely to occur).
- the blade rubber 22 receives the traveling wind W from the direction along the wiping surface on the side opposite to the wiping surface side of the rubber holder 21.
- a fin portion 21e that presses toward the wiping surface is provided, and covering members 23 that protrude toward the wiping surface side and partially cover the side portions of the blade rubber 22 are provided at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the blade rubber 22. Therefore, the lift of the wiper blade 20 can be suppressed by the fin portion 21e. Further, the traveling wind W flowing from the front side to the back side at the end of the blade rubber 22 on the oscillation center side can be rectified by the covering member 23, and along the longitudinal direction on the back side of the wiper blade 20.
- the traveling wind W can flow. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of the water drawing phenomenon by weakening the generation of the vortex generated on the back surface side of the wiper blade 20, and as a result, it is possible to wipe well without leaving rainwater or the like on the wiping surface.
- the height dimension h of the covering member 23 is set to a height dimension h that covers at least the other part except the lip portion 22b of the blade rubber 22,
- the covering member 23 is brought close to the wiping surface so that the rectifying effect by the covering member 23 can be further increased, and as a result, the occurrence of the watering phenomenon can be further suppressed.
- the wiper blade 20 since the tilt allowable gap G that allows the lip portion 22b of the blade rubber 22 to tilt is provided between the covering member 23 and the blade rubber 22, the wiper During the wiping operation of the blade 20, the lip portion 22b of the blade rubber 22 can be accurately tilted, and the occurrence of uneven wiping (decrease in wiping performance) can be suppressed.
- the taper portion T that allows the wiper blade 20 to tilt is provided on the side opposite to the blade rubber 22 side in the direction along the wiping surface of the covering member 23. Therefore, when the wiper blade 20 is tilted during the wiping operation of the wiper blade 20, the covering member 23 can be prevented from coming into contact with the wiping surface, and the occurrence of uneven wiping (decrease in wiping performance) can be suppressed. .
- the cap 24 is provided at the end of the blade rubber 22 and the covering member 23 is provided integrally with the cap 24. Therefore, the end of the blade rubber 22 is exposed to the outside. It is possible to improve the appearance of the wiper blade 20 by preventing exposure.
- the cap 24 is made of a plastic material
- the covering member 23 is made of a rubber material. Therefore, when the covering member 23 collides with the windshield 11, for example, when the vehicle 10 is washed, the wiper blade 20 is brought into the lockback state (standing state), and then the wiper blade 20 is returned to the original state with vigorous force. In addition, the impact caused by the collision between the wiper blade 20 and the windshield 11 can be reduced. At this time, since the covering member 23 partially covers the side portion of the blade rubber 22, it is possible to prevent an excessive external force from being applied to the blade rubber 22.
- FIG. 11 is a cross-sectional view corresponding to FIG. 6 showing the wiper blade according to the second embodiment.
- the wiper blade 30 of the second embodiment is obtained by integrally molding the cap 24 and the covering member 23 with a resin material such as plastic as compared with the wiper blade 20 of the first embodiment.
