Definitions
- the present invention relates to a pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars, and more particularly to a pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars that can achieve both low fuel consumption and comfort in tire-equipped vehicles.
- a tire to which a radial carcass is applied has excellent wear resistance because the rigidity of the tire crown is higher than that of a bias tire.
- the crown portion has high rigidity and the propagation of movement between the tire constituent members is suppressed, the rolling resistance is reduced. For this reason, it is characterized by good fuel efficiency and high cornering power.
- the ground contact area of the tire can be increased and the cornering power can be increased.
- an object of the present invention is to solve the above problems, and both the air resistance value (Cd value) of a tire-equipped vehicle and the rolling resistance value (RR value) of a tire are low, resulting in low fuel consumption.
- An object is to provide a pneumatic radial tire for a passenger car that realizes performance and securing a vehicle space.
- the gist configuration of the present invention for solving the above-described problems is as follows. (1) A pneumatic radial tire for a passenger car provided with a carcass made of a ply of a radial arrangement code straddling a toroidal shape between a pair of bead parts, A pneumatic radial tire for a passenger car, wherein a ratio W / L between a cross-sectional width W and an outer diameter L of the tire is 0.25 or less.
- a belt and a tread composed of a plurality of belt layers are sequentially arranged on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the reinforcing member,
- a belt and a tread composed of a plurality of belt layers are sequentially arranged on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the reinforcing member, and a plurality of main grooves extending along the tire equator are provided in the tread,
- the reinforcing member has an out-of-plane bending stiffness of 6 N / mm or more, and a tensile strength defined by JIS Z 2241 of 1255 kPa or more.
- a pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars according to any one of the above.
- both the air resistance value (Cd value) of the vehicle and the rolling resistance value (RR value) of the tire are reduced, and the pneumatic radial for passenger cars has excellent fuel efficiency and excellent vehicle comfort.
- Tires can be provided.
- FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a cross-sectional width W and an outer diameter L of a tire.
- (a) It is a figure which shows the vehicle equipped with the tire which diameter-expanded and narrowed of this invention.
- (b) It is a figure which shows the vehicle equipped with the conventional tire.
- 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a radial tire according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a relationship between a ratio W / L of a tire cross-sectional width W to an outer diameter L, a vehicle air resistance value (Cd value), and a tire rolling resistance value (RR value). It is a schematic sectional drawing of each radial tire concerning the embodiment of the present invention. It is a figure for demonstrating out-of-plane bending rigidity.
- the inventor can secure a vehicle space by making the tire cross-sectional width W (see FIG. 1) of the radial tire narrower than before, and in particular, install drive components near the inside of the tire mounted on the vehicle.
- a front projection area an area when the tire is viewed from the front (hereinafter referred to as a front projection area) is reduced, which has an effect of reducing the air resistance value (Cd value) of the vehicle.
- the deformation of the ground contact portion becomes large, there is a problem that the rolling resistance value (RR value) of the tire becomes large at the same air pressure.
- radial tires have less tread deformation than bias tires, so increasing the outer diameter L of the radial tire (see Fig. 1) to make it less susceptible to road surface roughness, We focused on the ability to reduce the rolling resistance (RR value) for the same air pressure. Also, by increasing the diameter, it is possible to improve the load capacity of the tire, and as shown in Fig. 2, the diameter of the radial tire increases to increase the wheel axle and expand the space under the floor. It was also found that a space for a vehicle trunk or the like and an installation space for driving parts can be secured.
- both narrowing and increasing the diameter of the tire have the effect of securing the vehicle space, but the rolling resistance value (RR value) is in a trade-off relationship. Further, the air resistance value (Cd value) of the vehicle can be reduced by narrowing the tire.
- the inventors have made these characteristics better than conventional radial tires by optimizing the balance between the tire cross-sectional width and the tire outer diameter for the air resistance value (Cd value) and rolling resistance value (RR value). We studied diligently to improve it.
- the inventor pays attention to the ratio W / L between the tire cross-sectional width W and the outer diameter L of the tire, attaches tires of various tire sizes including those outside the standard to the vehicle, and determines the air resistance value (Cd value). ) And rolling resistance value (RR value) were tested, and the condition of the ratio W / L was derived that both of these characteristics exceeded that of the conventional radial tire.
- Cd value air resistance value
- RR value rolling resistance value
- FIG. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view in the tire width direction of the radial tire of one embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 3 shows only a half portion with the tire equator CL as a boundary.
- tire sizes tire sizes outside these standards are included, without being bound by conventional standards such as JATMA (Japanese tire standards), TRA (American tire standards), ETRTO (European tire standards), etc.
- the carcass 2 is composed of organic fibers, and a plurality of belts 3 and treads 4 in the illustrated example on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the crown portion of the carcass 2 are sequentially arranged. Is arranged.
- the two belt layers in the illustrated example are inclined belt layers that are inclined at an angle of 20 to 40 ° with respect to the tire equatorial plane CL, and are arranged such that the cords cross each other.
- a belt protective layer 5 made of organic fibers extending along the tire equatorial plane CL is disposed.
- the tread 4 is provided with a plurality of main grooves 6 extending in the tire circumferential direction, one in the half in the illustrated example.
- a large number of tires having various cross-sectional widths and outer diameters were manufactured.
- a tire having a tire size 195 / 65R15 having a structure in accordance with the above-mentioned custom was prepared. Tires of this tire size are used in most general-purpose vehicles and are most suitable for comparing tire performance.
- the specifications of each tire are shown in Table 1.
- the tire size radial tire having a ratio W / L of the tire cross-sectional width W to the tire outer diameter L of 0.25 or less is a conventional tire of tire size 195 / 65R15. It was found that both the air resistance value (Cd value) and the rolling resistance value (RR value) were reduced from the tire. In addition, radial tires with a tire size with a ratio W / L of 0.24 or less have a further reduction in Cd value and RR value. In particular, radial tires with a tire size with a ratio W / L of 0.23 or less have a Cd value. Less than 95 and RR value is reduced to less than 80 respectively.
- test tires with a ratio W / L of 0.28 or 0.31 there were test tires in which at least one of fuel economy and comfortability was lower than that of the conventional tire, respectively. It can be seen that the test tires 1 to 7, 17, and 23 to 32 having a ratio W / L of 0.25 or less are superior in fuel efficiency and comfortability to conventional tires. In addition, tires with a ratio W / L of 0.24 or less are more effective in improving fuel economy and comfort than tires with a ratio of 0.25. Particularly, tires with a ratio W / L of 0.23 or less are more effective in improving fuel efficiency and comfort. It can be seen that is remarkable.
- the inventor in the pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars, by making the ratio W / L 0.25 or less, the air resistance value of the vehicle and the rolling resistance value of the tire are improved while improving the habitability of the vehicle. It has been found that the fuel efficiency can be improved by reducing both of the above.
- FIG. 5 (a) is a schematic cross-sectional view in the tire width direction of the radial tire of one embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 5 (a) shows only a half portion with the tire equator CL as a boundary.
- the ratio W / L between the tire cross-sectional width W and the tire outer diameter L is 0.25 or less. The difference between the tire shown in FIG. 5 (a) and the tire shown in FIG.
- the reinforcing member 7 has a length in the direction that is 50 to 100% of the belt layer having the maximum length in the tire width direction among the plurality of belt layers. This reinforcing member 7 increases the out-of-plane bending rigidity of the belt, so that the buckling phenomenon can be suppressed, the deformation of the tread can be suppressed, and the rolling resistance value of the tire can be further reduced. For this reason, fuel efficiency can further be improved. In addition, wear resistance and cornering power can be improved by suppressing the buckling phenomenon.
- the reinforcing member 7 for example, a ply in which a steel cord is covered with rubber can be used.
- the length in the tire width direction is in the above range, and when it is less than 50% of the length in the tire width direction of the maximum width belt layer, buckling easily occurs, in the tread width direction. This is because the outer side cannot be sufficiently reinforced, and on the other hand, if it exceeds 100%, the durability of the belt end is lowered.
- a tire structure as shown in FIG. 5 (b) As another preferable tire structure, a tire structure as shown in FIG.
- the difference between the tire structure in FIG. 5 (b) and the tire structure in FIG. 5 (a) is that the reinforcing member 7a extending in the tire width direction between the carcass 2 and the belt 3 is formed in the outermost main groove 6 in the tire width direction. It is a point that it is partially arranged at the corresponding position.
- the “corresponding position” means that a reinforcing member is disposed on the inner side in the tire radial direction of the outermost main groove in the tire width direction when the tire is not loaded, and the tire width of the reinforcing member in the tire width direction.
- the inner end in the direction is at the same position or inward of the inner end in the tire width direction of the outermost main groove
- the outer end in the tire width direction of the reinforcing member is the tire width of the outermost main groove in the tire width direction. It means being at the same position or outside with respect to the outer end in the direction. Since this reinforcing member 7a is provided at a position corresponding to the outermost main groove in the tire width direction in which the buckling phenomenon is particularly likely to occur, the out-of-plane bending rigidity at the portion where the belt is easily deformed is improved, and the buckling phenomenon is prevented. This can suppress the deformation of the tread and further reduce the rolling resistance value of the tire. For this reason, fuel efficiency can further be improved.
- the reinforcing member 7a for example, a ply made of a steel cord can be used.
- the length of the reinforcing member 7a in the tire width direction is preferably 20 mm or more longer than the groove width of the outermost main groove in the tire width direction, and preferably not longer than 40 mm. This is because if it is less than 20 mm, the reinforcing member 7a is not sufficient in improving the out-of-plane bending rigidity of the belt, and if it is larger than 40 mm, the effect of suppressing increase in tire weight is not sufficient.
- the reinforcing member is arranged to improve the out-of-plane bending rigidity of the belt with respect to the belt surface.
- the out-of-plane bending stiffness is defined as follows. That is, as shown in FIG. 6 (a), a sample S in which the reinforcing member is cut so as to be a rectangle of 200 mm in the tire circumferential direction and 25 mm in the tire width direction is produced. Next, the cut reinforcing member is supported by the support member 9 as shown in FIG. In this state, the center of the sample S is pressed by a pressing plate (not shown) from a direction perpendicular to the rectangular surface.
- the distance between the support points P and Q by the support member 9 is 160 (mm)
- the pressing force is F (N)
- the sample deflection is A (mm).
- the out-of-plane bending stiffness (N / mm) is the experimentally obtained load-deflection diagram (FA diagram), and the deflection amount is 5 ( It is defined as the tangent slope a (N / mm) at the point (mm).
- the out-of-plane bending rigidity is preferably 6 N / mm or more.
- the reinforcing member is preferably a member having a high tensile strength as defined in JIS Z 2241, because the reinforcing member is required to have a strength that can withstand the internal pressure of the tire, a protrusion input, and the like. .
- the tensile strength defined by JIS Z 2241 is preferably 1255 kPa or more.
- the pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars of the present invention preferably has an air volume of 15000 cm 3 or more. This is because it is necessary to maintain the minimum load capacity of the tire.
- a plurality of inventive tires were prototyped and tested to evaluate the above-described actual fuel consumption and comfort.
- the test method and the evaluation method are the same as described above.
- tests for evaluating the following cornering power, wear resistance, and tire mass were performed.
- a plurality of pneumatic radial tires for passenger cars having the tire structure shown in FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b) were manufactured as invention tires.
- the specifications of each tire are shown in Tables 4 and 5 below.
- the test tires 3, 4, 23, 26, 31, and 32 in Table 4 are the test tires in Tables 1 to 3.
- the tires are the same as 3, 4, 23, 26, 31, and 32, respectively.
- the conventional tire in Table 4 is the same tire as the conventional tire in Tables 1 to 3.
- Cornering power, wear resistance, and tire mass were tested and evaluated according to the following.
- ⁇ Cornering power> In a flat belt cornering tester, measurement was performed at an internal pressure of 220 kPa, a load of 3.5 kN, and a speed of 100 km / h. The cornering power was evaluated by an index with the cornering power of the test tire 4 being 100. The larger the index, the greater the cornering power.
- the evaluation of the wear resistance is performed by evaluating the remaining groove amount (remaining groove depth) after running the drum, and is represented by an index with the wear resistance of the test tire 4 being 100.
- the tire mass was expressed as an index with the mass of the test tire 4 being 100 (the lower the value, the lighter). The test results are shown in Tables 5 and 6 below.
- the invention tires 1 and 2 having a ratio W / L of 0.25 or less and a suitable tire structure both have a rolling resistance value that is lower than that of the test tire 4 having the same tire size.
- Fuel economy is improved.
- the habitability of the vehicle is also the same as that of the test tire 4.
- the invention tires 3 to 12 have the same tire size, the rolling resistance value is further reduced and the fuel efficiency is improved as compared with the test tires for comparison.
- the habitability of the vehicle is also the same as that of the respective test tires for comparison.
- the invention tires 1 and 2 having a ratio W / L of 0.25 or less and a suitable tire structure are the same tire size, and the cornering power and resistance to the test tire 4 are the same. It turns out that it is excellent in abrasion.
- the inventive tires 3 to 12 are superior in cornering power and wear resistance to the comparative test tires having the same tire size.
- the invention tires 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 in which the reinforcing members are disposed only at the corresponding positions of the outermost main groove in the tire width direction are respectively the same tire sizes. It can be seen that the tire mass is smaller than the subject invention tires 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11.
- pneumatic radial tires for passenger cars that are excellent in fuel efficiency and comfort can be manufactured and provided to the market.
Abstract
Description
なお、タイヤサイズに関しては、JATMA(日本のタイヤ規格)、TRA(アメリカのタイヤ規格)ETRTO(欧州のタイヤ規格)等の従来の規格に捉われずに、これらの規格外のタイヤサイズも含めて、幅広く検討した。
<居住性>
